(I was trying to find an example in the books of someone making some sort of Christmas list or somethig but could find nothing. So, here it is. Anyone who has a better thread title is welcome.)

My main wish is that if/when Blair and Serena reconcile, the writers manage to keep the tension between them while still allowing them to have fun. When I say tension, I don't mean, "You slept with Nate!" stuff. I mean the tension that would naturally come from their personalities. Like the fact that Blair tries so hard and can't seem to keep the guy while Serena doesn't have to do anything and can. Or that Serena is so carefree and Blair is more tightly-wound. It's impossible for someone like Blair to hang out with someone like Serena and not have her insecurities shine through, even if she doesn't want them to.

While rewatching the third episode, I had the weirdest sting of shipping Blair/Chuck. They're just so wonderfully catty that I'm both engrossed and scared to see the damage they could do. HOWEVER. If the writers do decide to pair Chuck up with someone, they have to be careful. I'd prefer that it be someone who's just as catty as him. I like my Chuck unredeemed, thanks. If they have to give him a Jenny-lite girl, I'd prefer that he be amused by her innocence and she be intruiged by his... Chuckness and for them to just... be. Not every bad boy needs to be redeemed. I'd love to see Chuck be protective of her, though. That could be fun.

Another idea I had was for there to be a background shot of KB at graduation or something. It'll be a small moment and a tiny nod to the fans. Best of all, it won't be distracting, so people who don't know who KB is won't be all, "Who the hell is this girl and why are we looking at her?" and the people who do know can just have a good, "HA!" moment.

Smaller things I'd like to see:
- Blair/Nate have sex. I don't want to actually SEE it, but I do want it to happen. The dillusioned Blair/Nate shipper in me would be very happy for a post-it scene.
- The writers to leave Serena/Nate alone. They managed to drop it for a while in the books and, honestly, I'm not impressed with the couple in either medium.
- More moments with Blair and her mom. Just generally. And maybe the pregnancy, if the writers choose to keep that storyline.
- Blair and Chuck. Just gossiping and being catty. Their relationship is so different than the one they have in the books, but it makes so much sense and is the most natural of all of the friendships.
- Chuck and Nate's friendship to develop somewhat. And reasoning as to why Nate is always passed out on the couch while Chuck is having sex. I mean, seriously.
- Jenny/Erik to stay friends. I realize the eventual progression into "something more," but I think friendship works best for them.
- Some time of Blair/Jenny or Jenny/Serena friendship. There are so many places they could go there.
- Vanessa/Dan. In any incarnation.
- I don't know how much time has passed since the pilot (5 days, at the most?) but I'd like to see Spring Break or Winter Vacation. I'd love to see where they go and what happens.

Mostly, I'd like the show to continue with its non-preachy vibe. It's the thing about the show I appreciate the most.
foxymoxy116
I hope Cyrus comes, because the Aaron will be there, and that was a good source of drama in the books. I really want to see Dan/Vanessa as well, since their relationship is a big part of both their story lines.
tinyurl373
i probably sound really dumb, but who's KB?
shalia17
KB = Kristen Bell. She does the voice-overs of Gossip Girl. She's most known for her role as Veronica Mars.
tinyurl373
Gotcha. I think that would be cool. Maybe they'll even give her dialogue in later seasons (if the show survives - i hope it does).
Hermosa
I'd like Nate to display some geniune feeling towards Blair so we know why they are together and have it not just be because his jackass father says he should be with her.

One thing the books managed to do that we haven't seen on the show so far is communicate this. Even in the books while Nate had feelings towards Serena, it seemed like deep down he never loved her the way that he did Blair.

And please no Nate & Jenny as a couple. It never made sense in the books and would be just icky on the show.
fashionista
I totally agree with wanting Aaron to show up. Later in the books some of the characters brought in were totally contrived and kind of sucked, but Aaron was wonderful. And his thing for Blair? I'd love it.

Also: Nate to have friends other than Chuck. Please. I beg.
gabrieller92
YES. Where are his stoner friends? I miss them in Central Park.
likeelectric
1. Give Nathaniel some friends. You can't cast someone as Anthony Avuldson and give 'em some throwaway lines?
2. Some VM references! If Moonlight can do it so can you.
hellosunshine24
I really want to see Blair deal with bulimia. Maybe that's something they're holding off on, and they're perhaps trying to build up to it (Blair feeling inferior to Serena, her mother's comments on her weight and looks, etc), but I just really want to see that as a storyline this season. I really think LM can handle it.
tadpolenyc
My first wish would be for them to deviate as far from the books as possible. I read a few after I saw the pilot when it was available in advance of the premiere on Itunes, and, boy, was that a mistake. I don't know what I was expecting, but to say that they were god awful would be an understatement.

Not too many cross couplings, please. I don't want to see Dan with Serena then with Vanessa then with Blair and then back to Serena. The Ryan/Marissa storyline got obnoxious after awhile, but I liked that they introduced new characters as love interests rather than have Seth date Marissa or Summer hooking up with Ryan. Most importantly, NO Blair and Dan! I would hate that couple more than I would hate Dan and Vanessa. Speaking of those two...

If I have to see them together at any point, then please make it brief. I know I haven't seen the character yet, but if she is 1/450th as annoying as book Vanessa, then I can safely preempt my hatred for her.

More character development for Nate. I'd like to see other expressions aside from "sad puppy dog" from Chace Crawford. I'm withholding any judgement on his acting abilities for now. It's not his fault the only storyline the writers have given him thus far is "little lost boy questioning his place in the world."

Have Serena and Dan be the couple. I am such a D/S shipper, it's sick. You'd think I was 14 again. Their chemistry just turns me into a pile of girly mush. I love them together! I'm going to stop now. I told you it was sick.
gabrieller92
Hey, I ship Nate/Blair so I'm right there with you with the pseudo-14, sick shippiness. As for Serena/Dan to be the couple, I don't want them to become Mega Super Can't Ever Be Happy So Let's Break Them Up Now couple. I hate that couple. If we're making OC comparisons, be Seth/Summer, not Ryan/Marissa.

I'd also like them to get away from the books, but not just for the sake of making changes. The changes they've made, so far, haven't been damaging on the storylines and they've followed through with the major ones (Erik).

Mostly? Tell the story you want to tell. As long as you stay true to the characters you've modified and don't do anything that's too off from the book characters (and when I say something "too off," I mean something that's so ridiculously out of character that it doesn't even matter which version of the characters you're talking about).

Ditto. I've never read the books, so I don't know how her bulimia was handled therein, but it has the potential to be a great storyline if done properly (i.e. not like an afterschool special). It could also be the vehicle for some more great Blair/Serena scenes, which are where I think LM really shines.
Suburban Knight
I just want some opening credits on the level of The OC. Josh's other show, Chuck, didn't get any until Episode 3, so I'm holding out hope we could get a proper title credits later on.
Menelaos
No redemption for Chuck. The assumption that every jerk out there has a reason for being a rapist et cetera is unrealistic and one that young people in particular should steer clear of.

More Blair/Dan. As friends only, but I really think they work well together in terms of being the most vulnerable people in their group (or at least it looks like that on the series, I never read the books). Plus, they're both grade-A drama queens.

Less Jenny. The actress is fine, but her character is a walking collection of everything that's annoying about 14 year olds.

More sweet/happy/upbeat Serena. She's pretty awesome anyway, but she is so much better when she's not looking at the camera with eyes overflowing with the acute awareness of tragedy. The last two episodes (particularly 104) were proof of that, IMO.

I'm interested in at least more development with Chuck. I think it might be a bit of a stretch for Jenny to be ever totally comfortable around him (or Dan, for that matter), but I think it's important to show that these people have a past and a future that effects them all. It would grate just as much for Chuck to be a static, mustache-twriling, evil rapist jerk rather than be "redeemed".

Maybe he doesn't have a reason for being a rapist (or extremely prone to sexual pressure), but there has to be a reason he drinks all the time and has sex all the time and has such a destrctive nature. In 1x03 we saw sort of why Nate and Chuck are such close friends, even in their world of 'fake' people and even when they seem like completely different people.

I hope to see him be a little more dynamic (and I think the moment with his Dad in 1x02 was an interesting peek into his issues).
Lunaste
No Elise. She just annoyed me endlessly in the books.

No crying!Nate. That book was just awful and when I reread the last few books I keep skipping over Nate's storyline (except the one in the Hamptons with Tawny, that one's kind of funny).

Keep Dan the way he is. I prefer this Dan over book!Dan, even if his hair is all kinds of wrong (even though he looked pretty hot in the last episode).

Vanessa! I hated her in the first few books since she was all stuck-up and better than you, but she became more and more awesome and I LOVED the Blair/Vanessa friendship!

A little more development on Chuck since I am loving what they're doing with him, but I also loved it when in the books he dropped his 'act' because he really was sad and angry he wasn't accepted into any of the universities he wanted and had to go to military school. When Vanessa was filming him... I really felt bad for him.

No Tiphany. Please.

My favorite thing about this storyline is that it wasn't treated like an afterschool special. Blair knew it was wrong and she didn't like it, but she did it anyway. I thought it was pretty realistic. If the show can keep that tone, then I can't wait for that storyline!
Beanhead
I want to see a flashback to Serena before leaving. Only because bad news blair showed a friendship with Serena and Blair, but because of what happened with Nate, I would like to see Serenas side of the friendship before she slept with Nate. I think this would help with also the bulimia storyline and underline to why Blair is who she is around Serena and what happened back before anything.
Casa de Halpert
I really wish Nate would get what's coming to him after taking advantage of his looks and popularity. I hated that Nate would walk all over whoever he was dating that week.
shalia19
I hope this new development between Blair and Chuck doesn't change him. I hope he doesn't because some lovesick wooby and keeps all the charm and smarm he's had from the beginngin. Layers are great but I will not have his very character detsroyed because of his romantic entanglements. I just want them to be a wicked power couple with a dash of angst but not overly so.
Kirsty
  1. Mockery of Dan Humphrey -- be it catty or good-natured.
This, for me, is why Vanessa is a disappointing choice as Dan's best friend. She's not going to laugh at him for watching a porny Swedish art film in place of a regular porno, for example, maybe because she's artistic, pretentious and self-serious like Dan, or maybe it's because she admires him too much. In any case, Dan's conversations with Lily are far more enjoyable to watch than his conversations with his best friend. I feel like Dan has the potential to be entertaining, but most of the time he puts me in mind of a NY Seth Cohen minus the sense of humour. Maybe if he threw himself into Blair's proximity, the writers could make the most of his potential. In the same way that Rufus is this lame TV trope ("Hip Dad") who stands around doling out the vomity cliches, until he runs into Lily, a crazy woman who enjoys insulting him, and then he becomes sweet, funny and engaging. Or at least that's my impression. :)
  2. Someone to tease Blair and make her laugh at herself occasionally. Ideally, I'd like if this were combined with #1 in the form of a Blair/Dan relationship, but that's looking more and more unlikely, so maybe Serena or Blair's father could do the teasing.
  3. More Blair/Eric interaction. They had a lovely easy chemistry during that episode when she broke him out of the treatment centre.
  4. Serena using/hurting people and not really paying attention. Serena slipping up and making bad choices sometimes. Show me that "no matter how long you try to be good, you can't keep a bad girl down".
  5. Okay, what the hell, since this is a wishlist: I'd send Nate (lifeless), Chuck (would-be rapist), and Vanessa (third wheel) far, far away, and replace them with one or two new male characters. Someone like Chuck except without the rape and openly gay -- like a gay Logan Echolls! -- or maybe a wise-cracking "guy's guy" who could play the Dean to Dan's Sam, the Bright to Dan's Ephram. If Dan isn't going to interact with Blair, then give him an awesome best friend of his own to share amusing scenes with. So far, that person is not Vanessa.
gabrieller92
So, I know that this is far-fetched like whoa and probably never going to happen, but I'd like to see a Chuck/Dan friendship. Why? Because this Blair thing is going to blow up in Chuck's face and Dan needs a male friend. And because I just want to see how they'd bounce off of each other. It'd take work, of course. But I think a reluctant respect of some sort would be a great place to start.
NicoleMN6
My wish list is all Van der Woodsen.

I'd like to see Serena's brother come out of the closet, and perhaps that being a factor in his suicide attempt recently. Otherwise, we have a) no (openly) gay characters and b) no explanation about why he tried to kill himself. Plus, it would create a better Humphrey-VDW dynamic than having him and Jenny hanging out because of some kind of attraction. (Though it would be interesting to see him try to use Jenny to go straight for a little while, or maybe she poses as his girlfriend for public appearances or something.)

I'd like to see some kind of explanation about Serena's dad. She and Eric have the same dad, right? Where is he? What about the other stepfathers?

Definitely more flashbacks of Bad!Serena. Probably by bringing back Carter, since that Santorini thing hasn't been resolved.

And, if we must have so much Lily-Rufus interaction, how about a flashback? I'm having a tough time imagining Lily as a groupie, to be honest...
Bookwormrach
I'd like to see a love interest for Vanessa, because it would be nice to see her apart from her stalking!Dan ways.

And speaking of Dan...

Have Serena and Dan be the couple. I am such a D/S shipper, it's sick. You'd think I was 14 again. Their chemistry just turns me into a pile of girly mush. I love them together! I'm going to stop now. I told you it was sick.

I second this suggestion. I like having Dan/Serena as the stable relationship of the show. I really enjoy the two actors together and their (sometimes over-the-top) sweetness is a nice contrast to the revolving Blair/Nate/Chuck thing.
Baby Vamp
I wish that Dan would stop mentioning black-eyes every. single. time. he's in the room with Chuck! That's getting old. I live for the day Chuck punches him a good one (not that Chuck can, but a girl can dream, can't she?)
chickens clap
I wish for Chuck to make Dan cry with words. I like to think Chuck has some class in him to not get into pointless fisticuffs.

I wish for Blair to realize how awesome she is and doesn't need to be in a relationship.

I'd also like to hear Leighton sing on the show (maybe with Ed?)
Casa de Halpert
- Blair moving on from Nate and Chuck, become more independent and leaving both guys to fight and pine over her.
- Less of the Humphreys.
- Go more into Blair's eating disorder.
- More Serena/Blair BFF interaction!
chickens clap
For Blair to totally reinvent herself. I know Leighton has a new haircut so I hope that gets incoporated into a totally new, fierce, sexy, non-virginal/porcelain doll look for Blair. No more headbands. Blair's posse and Jenny has tainted them.

I would really like that. In the books I know that at some point she gets a major haircut (book spoilers) and I think that by doing that and getting a new look, it will be easier to shed her old, sort of fake/perfect persona.

Oh, and I agree with Casa de Halpert that we should get more Serena/Blair BFF interaction. Especially since Serena is the only person besides her mom that Blair has anymore.
Miss Scarlett
For the writers strike to be over so we can see how Blair takes down the UES.
Lavender Gaia

Amen.

Also, I want to see the van der Woodsen/Bass wedding. Not because I'm excited about Lily and Bart marrying, but because I'm sure no one does weddings like Gossip Girl.
sonk
Wasn't there a storyline in the books where Jenny experimented with a girl? I haven't read them in a while, so I don't exactly remember...but that would be interesting to have in the show.

I kind of want more Jenny development in general. I don't really like her but I miss the whole self-loathing thing from the books and her relationship with Nate (although the way the show's been going, that might actually play out).
hellosunshine24
Yes, it was with Elise. The show introduced her in the last episode but I don't think they're going to go in that direction with Elise's storyline, if she sticks around.
Hermosa
I think that Jenny and Elyse experimenting with each other would come over really icky on the show, especially given how young they look, even if like in the books it's pretty one sided and a one off. Though maybe i'm remembering it wrong. Plus Josh Schwartz has already tried something similar on the OC with Marissa/Alex and it didn't work. At all.
smarter than me
A better opening credit sequence.
TexMarques

Well, maybe with Serena/Blair. I donīt know why this show brings the femslasher in me. I didnīt know she existed...

So, my wish, get rid of Chace Crawford or something, heīs awful, and the weak link in the cast.
Kirsty
Drunk Blair.
Dan Humphrey having to deal with a drunk Blair.
Blair hitting it off with Rufus. (She could teach him things! About life! Heee.)

ETA: A valet for Chuck; a Dorota of his own. Gossip Girl's Alfred Pennyworth, preferably an American actor playing an Englishman. A reserved, unshockable, older gentleman, with a dry sense of humour and Chuck's best interests at heart. The whole cliche, in other words. :)
Kait1987
Drunk Blair.
Dan Humphrey having to deal with a drunk Blair.

Oh, yes please. As much fun as Drunk Serena is, Drunk Blair would probably be more fun.

I want more friendship stuff between Blair and Serena. The girls just play it so well, especially Blake. She's gotten very good at playing a terribly loyal and loving friend anyone would want to have.
Thena
Blair hitting it off with Rufus. (She could teach him things! About life! Heee.)

So true.

My wishlist is for Blair to get over Nate... FOREVER. She always takes and wants him back. Why, Blair? It's time to get over Mr. Pothead. Seriously, Chace's face is somewhat cartoonish.
abap
I kind of want to see a bit more of the Humphreys. Now that Jenny has found her way into the popular girls' group like she's wanted, I want to see her test that against the ideas of Dan and Rufus. I remember in the book that Rufus is kind of confused of why/what his kids see in people like Blair and Serena, and I know it's kind of been done before with Allison buying Jenny the shoes and Jenny refusing them since they weren't new (or something like that), but I want to see how Jenny either succeeds or fails at being what she's always wanted. Maybe how Dan would view Serena then if Jenny went from just curious about everything to being a part of it.
QueenAnne
With Harold more or less out of the picture, Rufus could become Blair's new cooking buddy. That is, if Jenny weren't always hanging around, that could be awkward.

I really badly want to see more of the fallout from Eric's suicide attempt. Or, at least, acknowledgment that he had one. Shouldn't the van der Woodsens all still have to go to therapy? Even if they didn't show it and just had someone allude to the fact that he/they were taking off for the Center? It's not like I want it to become the main plot, but it was such an integral part of the first few episodes and one of the most original dynamics, seems wrong to just toss it aside.

I also wouldn't mind an occasional scene with Lily and Eleanor, for example. They seem like strangers, but it seems to reason with Blair and Serena, they'd be natural friends. Lily needs a friend who is neither a child nor a romantic interest for balance, I think. On one hand I like Lily mysterious and lonely, but OTOH, it would make a nice change from her always discussing (or not-discussing) her feelings for Rufus with Rufus, and Bart with Bart. Give us other insights.
Kayden Klassic
More shirtless Chace!

*swoons*
LRocksCan
Maybe I'm in the minority here but...Shirtless!Rufus!...ahem...as you were...
crazydude
Serena/Blair water baloon fight with white t-shirts. =P
MethodActor05
Eric Lively to show up as a hot, preppy college boy that has designs on Blair....

Mainly because he's really freakin' hot, and it would be cool to see Blake's brother on the show as perhaps a bit of a nod to the guy that "Eric" was supposed to be had they gone with the books.
EmpressbyNature
A better opening credit sequence.

More like an actual opening credit sequence. A fast-paced energetic song, yeah?

Eric Lively could maybe play Aaron Rose. Or they could just bring in Aaron Rose. Step!Incest yay.
HadleyTheBest
Aw. I loved Aaron and his adorably unrequited crush on Blair.

Do I have to spoiler tag that?
BrittBoo
I want to see Jenny taken off her newfound pedestal and maybe her and Nate
SassandtheCity
I want Rufus to end up on a Rock of Love dating show, creating a sudden interest in his old band and therefore making him very moneyed.
