Gotta give some love to the Entourage! But one question though, watching the DVDs reminded me that there were several more members when the show started, and somehow it ended up just being Grizz and Dot Com about a third into the season. Anyone know why Tracy Jordan's crew got downsized?

It's implied that it's because of Tracy's money problems -- Worldcom, man, Worldcom. That's why he can add more to the Entourage when he gets the Nigerian money.
Assuming one can believe what Tracy M. says in the DVD commentary (based on his cousin, my ass), I think it's cool that Grizz and Dot Com really are his friends from way back.

I must confess that it took me a few episodes to remember which guy was Grizz and which was Dot Com. Finally, duh, I realized that Grizz was surely short for grizzly bear, since that guy is huuuuuge. (The visual of him cradling the relatively tiny Tracy M. in his arms cracks me up so hard.)

"Grizzly" definitely fits, so I'll hang onto it too, but isn't it short for his surname? Kenneth greets him as "Mr. Griswold" (and Dot Com as "Mr. Slattery," right?).

I bow to your superior knowledge,
Rinaldo. However, the
Grizz = grizzly bear thing has done its job, just like
Bert = banana head helps me remember which one is Bert and which one is Ernie.

On the show, yes. In real life, well, Grizz is played by Grizz Chapman...

Well, we know he's the one who set up Tracy's dressing room entertainment system with all the remotes. I wonder if he was the first in the group to get into the internet (I mean, interweb) and set up tracyjordan.com (which sadly does not exist in our reality).

Yet. Seriously, how awesome would that be? With clips from his movies, etc.?

Heehee! I use both of those, and they work very well.
I love Griz and Dotcom and hope to see a little more of them next season.
One of my favorite moments was when Griz lifted Tracy up to make the basket.

My very favorite moment was when in The Source Awards when Tracy was telling Liz & Jack about his elaborate plan to burn a homeless man then go undercover as Ron Mexico, and out in the hall, reading a magazine, Grizz just looks up, shakes his head and says, "We're not doing that."

I know. That's when I really fell in love with Grizz. He and Dot.com add so much to the show, and to Tracy's life. I've actually imagined some nice interaction they've had with Tracy's wife, who I think would like them. They're comparatively sane.

I liked it because it showed a bit of growth from the whole Entourage Disbanded then rebanding -- before that, they went along with Tracy and asked questions later, like looting because the Jets lost, or borrowing the yacht. This was the first time Grizz let us know there was a limit, which was good. Of course, they did go along with the "Jefferson!" stuff, but that was all mostly legal.
Also, sometimes I find myself singing, "I'm gonna get me an iPhone. Everyone's gonna be jealous," even though I don't even want an iPhone.

One of my fave little moments in this show was the Baby Show when word gets out that Liz is thinking of having a baby. Just before she puts an end to the madness you see the two of them come around the corner with flowers. Everybody wants to have kids with Liz Lemon it seems.

I love how DotCom has that bluetooth piece on his ear on the "Jefferson" trailer. The whole thing is hilarious, but that little detail is just awse!

In my mind he got his name because he was the smart one. He was in charge of the money. He's the one that left Jack's office saying "Worldcom!" and he set up the technology in the dressing room.

I really appreciate Grizz and Dotcom getting more lines in Season 2 ("Yo, we gotta tell Josh. He'll finally think we're cool!").
But some of the non-verbal stuff is killer funny, too. Three Dotcom examples: In Pilot, as Tracy and crew get up to leave the posh restaurant, DC hides his drink under his jacket. In Cleveland, when Jack asks who taught Tracy anagrams, DC jumps back and points accusingly at Grizz. In LudaChristmas, when Kenneth asks who will be Tracy's alcohol avoidance manager, DC surreptitiously points left and right at Grizz and Kenneth.

Dot Com definitely set up the technology, but Grizz was the money manager who unfortunately sank too much into WorldCom.

I've been rewatching season 1 on Netflix, and I'd forgotten about the larger, anonymous entourage. So Dotcom was part of the orignal entourage, but am I right that Grizz was not? I think the first time he was onscreen was "Tracey does Conan", where he also got speaking lines.
I also love the background bits that these two guys do. Like in the same episode, when Tracey is recounting anecdotes ("My wife and I like to play rape..."), Dotcom is leaning over Cerie's desk, I guess flirting with her, and Grizz is eating cereal.

"What about our tickets to 'Spamalot'?" Who knew Dot.com was a theatre buff? These guys add so much color, in small doses, to the show, that I just look forward to them each and every episode.

Without checking for myself, I know Grizz was definitely in the second ep, "The Aftermath", since Tracy tells Liz that "Grizz was in the Navy."

D'oh! How could I forget Grizz at the helm of the yacht? Looked like he was struggling, too. Those guys are troopers. I hope they are well compensated for their entouraging.

The whole exchange among Jack, Tracy and Dot.com over the Republican Party, and Dot.com's "off putting... need to be the smartest person in the room" went right to the heart of my love for the entourage and Dot.com in particular. The longer this show goes on the more each character seems to develop new and interesting layers...

If Tracy was so worried about being 'Menendezed', why didn't he bring the entourage home with him?
I know, I know, I'm trying to bring logic to the robot chicken sketch...

Robot-bear sketch, actually... Robot Chicken is another show altogether... one that Variety probably has also called a comedy, come to think of it.

Grizz and Dotcom must still be off sailing courtesy of Tracy sharing his sex-video-game largesse.
