The Pixel ChallengeSeptember 19 is International Talk Like A Pirate Day. Show your favorite TV characters talking like pirates.. Thanks to sweetjane for the idea. Be funny or I'll kill you where you stand.
The Guidelines- Images format must be 'gif' or 'jpg'
- Images resolution must be web standard 72ppi
- Image size must be no larger than 100k
- Image width must be no wider than 600 pixels
- Upload your images to your personal webspace or 3rd party image hosting service. Note that many 'freebie' places like Yahoo, Geocities and Tripod do not allow images to be displayed on 3rd party sites (eg images hosted on Tripod can only be seen at Tripod, not on TWoP). See TWoP PC Software and Image Hosting for user suggestions on image hosting services.
- Using TWoP Code post your image directly using the 'img' tag or put a text link to the image or webpage where the image is displayed using the 'url' tag. Using the 'url' tag is a good way to conserve bandwidth on your end.
Have a TWoP Pixel Challenge Idea? We're always looking for good ideas for future PCs. Send your ideas to

DocOrlando, ye must marry me, and I'll not take 'no' fer an answer! The eyepatch is provided, but the parrot is genius! If only they could work something like that into a blooper reel and include it on a DVD. I think I may die of laughing....

Because Locke blowing s*** up deserves to be all over this thread, yet I have no pixel-bilities, someone else should do a pic of the LOST submarine exploding, with Locke in there yelling, "Blast 'em out of the waterrrr!"

Ahoy, here's an English-to-Pirate
translator to increase our fun, yee mateys.
Mal Reynolds's "I aim to confound these bungers" becomes "I aim t' confound 'ese 'errrebungerrrs."
Dr. Phil's "Do I look like I just jumped off the turnip truck?" becomes "Do I spy like I jus' jump'd off th' turrrnip schoonerrr?"
Jack from Lost's "We live together or we die alone" becomes "We live togetherrr orrr we visit Davy Jones' lockerrr like an isle." HEE!

Painfully obvious, or just painful?

(Alternately, "Who be ye workin' fer, ye scallawag!?!?!")
SunniLee-- awesome. Oddly enough, I was on a business trip to L.A. a few weeks ago, and we were eating dinner in the same restaurant as Miss South Carolina and all the other contestants. We knew who was who because they were conveniently wearing their sashes. In a Mexican fast-food restaurant. At a mall.

Sashes? We don't need no stinkin' sashes!
Is anyone planning to make Pirate!Locke blow more shit up? Because that is classic.

Sep 18, 2007 @ 6:15 pm
For me, the pirate translator just changes "you" to "ye" and adds references to bottles of rum. My method uses about 20% stage "Irish", 10% "hillbilly" phrasing, some regency novel thieves' cant (thank you, Georgette Heyer) and a few poorly understood nautical terms. Enjoy!
