And here I had totally forgotten why Dick and Daniele are so very awesome. Thanks, CBS!
DavidLeblond
Oh WOW... in the show right before the clip about the "butter me up" competition, watch Danielle... she is CLEARLY reading from a cue card or a prompter! She kept glancing over to the side before talking.

Most scripted show EVER.
Red Okay
I feel like the editing has sort of turned on Daniele a bit. I guess with Dick being the only one left they have to demonize someone in his honor. Not that it's hard with that bitch.
Softwhere
So glad that Daniel and Dick could discuss how messed up everyone else in the house was. They are clearly role models for appropriate behavior.

Another negative edit for Jen. Yes Alison, we know you don't like her. Its very clear that you don't like her.
MichaelaRae
I tuned in on the off chance that this "highlight" reel might actually a) highlight people who don't have the last name Donato and b) show something we didn't see on the show. I was disappointed on all counts, including being disappointed in myself for even being surprised.
twtexas17
And this whole time, I was thinking that the day old nachos I ate earlier were making my stomach hurt. WRONG! I really could have done without the show. It would have been better to watch all the HGs talk about past events instead of these two. However, I did enjoy watching Jameka go off on Richard again. Good times!
SceneStealer
I don't know, I thought tonight's show was a pretty bad edit for both Dick AND Daniele. I'm very surprised - I thought they would pick one or the other and all but crown them tonight.
eholder
I kept hoping for more unaired footage, but it was just Donato rehash. Totally lame. The only new thing was Eric/Jess, which was pretty cute, but all the other stuff I've seen so many times. Most boring ep ever.
RedLipstick
What can I say? Instead of BB8, it always seemed to me like D and D all summer were auditioning for their own reality TV show. And tonight's episode could be their own audition tape that they could shop around to the networks. Tonight's episode was a bit cloying. Dick has a short TV shelf life. The shtik wears thin. I am curious to see if the saga continues on MTV.
Tonight's episode was I guess supposed to be heartwarming, but it's the edit, the edit.
coconutcookie
It truly was the Dick and Daniele Show but at least they didn't win a new car in the last HOH competition. I loved the way the whole thing was set up to make fun of every else.

A really fabulous twist--expect the unexpected--would be if they had been letting the jury watch Dick and Daniel since Thursday.
UniqueSnowflake
This was like a sitcom when someone would go "Remember that time. . ." and it would go into the clip. It was just about them bagging on the other HG, no game.

What was the web address to apply to BB?
SceneStealer
UniqueSnowflake, you are SO right. I always hated those sitcom episodes when they would claim to be new, but really weren't, and this was just the same. At least they weren't looking through a photo album of candids while they talked, though I guess looking at the memory wall is just about the same.
MichaelaRae
What was the web address to apply to BB?

Well, Part I of the AG orgasmic pre-ordained happy ending is done. This episode, and the finalie, are what they've been working hard for all summer. The 'happy resolution' of D/D so that they can ride off in the sunset together. Oh, wait.....no they won't. Danielle even said that she didn't want his ass with her with she 153's Nick in Paris after the show.

Now that I know that they weren't estranged for 2 years, that they may not have spoken often, but at least enough to try and get on every reality show in the western hemisphere during the last 3 years.

Now I know that they were aware that each other would be on BB8, and there was no suprise when they brought out the 'enemies'.

Now I know that they were the only group of pairs in the house, wheras everyone else was on their own.

Now I know why they had such success, because they were truely playing on an unlevel field compared to the others.

Now I (don't know but really believe) that AP was a totally bogus feature, and that all the voting directives were not from America, but from the producers, so that their "main story-arc" would stay in the show til the end. (I mean come on, how is anybody going to audit the voting results to call me a liar?)

Now I know that any and all rules were taken on a case-by-case basis in order to hurt anybody who did not fall in line with what the producers wanted, and to benefit D/D.

Now I know that D/D were given hints, if not blatant inside information, to all appropriate competitions, so that they were not to lose.

Now I know that the editing dept worked overtime to try and make these vile, disgusting, bottom of the port-o-let fecal entities look appealing to the casual BB viewer.

Now I know better, but I don't know why I had to wait until the very end to find out.

I do know that I won't be back next year.

I've only been watching for the past few weeks - I think Dustin was the first eviction I saw. So I tuned into this, because I thought it might review the season. I turned off after about 1/2 hour. It was making me ill. Dick and Danielle seemed to be sitting there enjoying the fact that Dick tormented and abused so many people and laughing about it. No remorse. No I wish I hadn't done this/said this etc. I don't want either of these two people to win.
Bottled Water
Hmm, I turned this on for literally :30 seconds and realized this was going to be Daniele and Dick sitting around bashing everyone and clips of shit we already saw. Uhh, I saw the episodes once already, I don't need to see the same clips again. And I saw Dick and Daniele bash and complain about everyone all summer on the feeds, too.

This is what they call a highlights show? Um, no.
jade76
Is this Big Brother or the Dick and Danielle show? I made it through about 5 minutes tonight before I turned it off. Don't think I'll be watching the finale.
thuganomics85
At this point, I think the producers realise there is a big anti-Donato group, and they've decided to just give a big FU, to everyone who doesn't love Dick or Daniele.

I tuned into the show about 1/2 an hour into the show. From the Detroit station there was an amber alert going across the screen. That held my interest more than that craptastic 30 minutes. I take it the first 30 minutes D&D were just as saccharin-y sweet.

The only good thing was the Jen footage of her crying over her picture. I thought she was nuts the first time around. This time, all I could think of was how much I missed her on the show. It's amazing how time, and the Donatos, can change your outlook on events.
trixisforkids
Was I the only one who thought this would be the reveal of AP? Boring!
NYGirl
I am watching the Yankee/Redsox game but I TiVoed BB. Now that I have read your thoughts I will just delete it. No sense in wasting my time watching two people I hate rehash everything I've already seen. Thanks guys.
princessu
Oooo fellow Yankee fan. I'm hoping for a win.

Anyways, worst episode ever. Terrible. Loved seeing Jen since I miss her but I thought that AG was just trying to once again portray her as a villian. HATE the Donatos. Dani looked like a skeleton back then. Sheesh, her bones were sticking out the entire episode.

UGH!
Red Okay

I had the same reaction. I didn't remember her extended pause after she finally stopped crying followed by "...sucks." She's a very amusing person in general (jeneral?) I think.

Was I the only one who thought this would be the reveal of AP? Boring!

That's the only thing to look forward to on Tuesday. Hopefully, they do it within the first half hour so I can nod off soon thereafter.

Tonight was pretty worthless.

Next year I wish that the viewers could vote the winner; the HGs would pick the final 3 and we could pick the winner. Now that would mix up the game a little bit and give the show a break from having to give the prize money to the most despicable houseguest for at least that season.
LittleV
Word Up, gojuu! Does anyone remember BB1 when the house guests made the nominations and the viewers got to vote who was sent home? More often than not, the house guests were surprised by the REAL America's choice. I wish they would do that again - Oh - but I won't know if they do it or not because I doubt I'll even be watching.
geebs_criminy
I watched the whole episode except for a few minutes. Those happened to be the few minutes in which they showed Jen crying over her picture. I didn't start watching this season until Jen was gone but I had read about the crying. So really was it that big of a deal? I also want to say that since I never saw any of Jen on the show what they showed tonight made me think that she was pretty laid back. She didn't seem to get into anyones face and yell at them(other than when Dick blew smoke in her face and even then she wasn't really yelling). And anytime she was yelled at she was way over-yelled that she couldn't get a word in. So am I missing the something here? Why really did D & D not like her? Did the other houseguests like her?
katesus7
Hmm, I turned this on for literally :30 seconds and realized this was going to be Daniele and Dick sitting around bashing everyone and clips of shit we already saw.

Yeah, I figured it would be the D&D show, but during a commercial break during the Emmy's, I turned over because I'm an idiot, and this is what I got:

Dick in full on Dick mode, yelling at Amber, while Jameka gently tries to get Amber away from a dirty old man screaming at her. The music? Why, Dick's Theme, of course! Because he's a bad-ass Rocker Dad that is the best thing ever to happen to this show! The next scene? Daniele and Dick snickering about those silly Christians, and how much they suck thinking that Dick and Daniele aren't good people. The scene after that? Well, I managed about 1.4 seconds of Jameka when she was crying and praying after her Veto loss, and then I quickly got the message, and watched some commercials instead. More palatable.
Jeilan
I just watched about a minute of Dick and Danielle remembering how "crazy" Jen was and then turned it off. I don't really want to watch the Dick and Danielle show. Even if we had to watch the same events again, maybe they could have shown someone else's diary room to get their perspective or something like that. I'm working on finale night, and at this point I'm not too disappointed about that.
sissykay
Is Alison Grodner’s married name Donato?

Now I know that D/D were given hints, if not blatant inside information, to all appropriate competitions, so that they were not to lose.

The scene where D+D talk about all the mysteries in the house and who they thought was responsible was interesting. Dick says at the end “I guess we will find out soon” and he and Daniele give this laugh like yeah, we already know. And I’m sure they do.

The only good thing was the Jen footage of her crying over her picture.

That was good to see again. Jen seemed so immature and yet now I am very impressed with how mature this 23 year old is. I guess she is mature about some things other things she’s 23.

Why really did D & D not like her? Did the other houseguests like her?

Very few HG admitted to liking Jen though I think many did. She was vilified early on and could not recover. Many think Dick didn’t like her because she rejected him in the first week and his ego couldn’t take it. Some think Daniele is jealous of Jen and that’s where the hate comes from. But after watching Daniele for a couple of months my guess is Daniele doesn’t really like anyone
Jana
So am I missing the something here? Why really did D & D not like her? Did the other houseguests like her?

Sissykay has a pretty good analysis. Here's a little more:

Apparently, Nick was lying in one of the beds with Jen and someone else (maybe Carol?) This was at the start, before the feeds. Nick kissed Jen on the hand and went to kiss her on the lips, but she gestured for him not to do so.

Days (maybe a week?) later, Jen plus others are in the kitchen talking about Nick and Daniele. Someone says something (sorry I can't remember more!), but it prompts Jen to mention that Nick kissed her. This was rather nonchalant, but Jen did ask that no one mention it.

Of course, Joe runs back to the bedroom to Nick and Dani immediately and tells them that Jen said that Nick kissed her on the lips.

Nick confronts Jen, and basically says that she is a liar. Everyone believes Nick.

Perhaps someone can add more to this? But I think that Kissgate caused a lot of the problems.

Here's the FULL story:

Jen's a model, and she's picky about her pictures. She saw her [VERY pretty] picture on her memory wall TV, and she began crying. To this day, that cast still jokes about it. Jen was a bit self-obsessed, but she wasn't the least bit obnixious. It began with the Butter Me Up food competition (the one that showed the hamsters all greased-up)...she doesn't like cigarettes, she doesn't like cigarette smoke, and she though that Evel (Dick) was gross...aside from that, he flirted with some of them. She flat out told him that she didn't want him to touch her, and he held a childish grudge against her ever since.

Gang mentality, everybody else joined Evel with the Jen bashing and accused her of lies (lies that are yet to be described...) when she was the only 100% honest person there next to Mike (evicted in week 3). Evel tried to use his bully "strategy" to get to her, but she always laughed him off. Daniele began a flirtatious relation with the 'Nick' hamster that you keep hearing about every 10 seconds. Jen had an attration to him as well, but Jen managed to get over it while Daniele continues to hold it against Jen.

With the kissing incident...Nick actually kissed Jen on the hand, but wanted to kiss her on the mouth (his admitted strategy was to flirt with the girls) and she asked him not to. Some of the girls and Joe were in the kitchen talking about Nick and Dani. Jen said that she felt sorry for Dani's bf because clearly, Dani and Nick have something going on...and that Nick tried to kiss Jen. Joe lied to Nick saying that Jen said that he tried to make out with her. The other cast mates began to believe him, and this added more fuel to the fire.

Evel made death threats to her, threated to rape her (as well as other felloe hamsters) until she bled...choke her with his member...a then rape her corpse. He said the "corpse" thing about hamster Dustin and Caro as well: Dustin because he's sheisty, and Carol because he found out that she called him "gross." He made other threats, banged a croquet mallet onto the kitchen counter less than an inch from her, though she didn't even flinch; he basically stalked her by randomly calling her every demaning name in the book including "rank pussy," and after a heated arguement she had with whiny Daniele (Dani wants to say that Jen lacked morals, and Jen put her on blast about cheating on her boyfriend of 2 years with Nick), Evel poured a glass of iced tea on Jen's head, and on another instance, he repeatedly blew smoke in her face...she was reaching to take the cig from him, and he poked her with the lit cigarette.

Bottom line, Evel was the ringleader, and the cast were Evel's bitches...that is, until THEY were the receiving end of his bullshit. Once he started messing with Jen again, the others joined along with him...again. Jen was "jenuine"!
princessu
You're on point Jana. I just wanted to add that Joe admitted in the DR that he wanted to be a shit-stirrer. And that is exactly what happened. Jen never actually said that Nick kissed her on the lips, just on the hand. But of course, Joe lied about the incident and everything went downhill from there.

To me, Jen has always been harmless. She may have cried over her picture, but that never impacted or harmed the others. On the contrary, Dick constantly harassed and made threatening comments which should have gotten him thrown out.

The whole house was very high-schoolish. Early on, whatever shit that Dick-Dani-Saint Nick (essentially the cool kids) said was basically believed by the other houseguests. Everyone just followed what they said and hated Jen for no reason at all. What exactly made Jess, Jameka, Amber, etc. despise Jen so much? She never did anything to them and was very nice to them.

I also wanted to add that there were many times when Jen actually warned the other houseguests that Dick would reverse his attention on them. Of course, they didn't listen. But when it did happen, they were angry. There was that argument between Dani and the rest of the HG's about Dick's treatment of everyone. Eric basically talked about Dustin, Jameka, and Amber's treatment and neglected to mention the person who got the worst treatment, Jen.

ETA: Excellent post spaceshuttle! It pretty much summarizes the entire season.

Ok, this is my second time this season skipping BB for a few episodes because the glorification of the vile Donato's is just not something I feel compelled to watch. Actually, it's ridiculous that someone thinks they're making good TV by showcasing these people, and that we'll all just eat up. No CBS, I don't really care to, thank you very much. Anyway, I think it's rather telling that there are only 3 pages of comments so far tonight. I know the Emmy's are on, but seriously CBS get a clue, we're not a bunch of morons who are interested in watching socially dysfunctional people attack others in the name of entertainment. Honestly (and I feel I'm lying down with the pigs here), I'll let my TiVo grab the BB finale, but I'll only watch if I read elsewhere (i.e. "here") that that the audience hated the Donato's so much that Daniele just cried and cried when she found out she wasn't America's Sweetheart after all.
spaceshuttle
Thanks, princessu

Besides, didn't Jen make dinner whil on Slop a few times in the past?

Anyway, there's more Jen-fo in the Jen thread (Current TWoP shows >Big Brother > Houseguests > Jen & The Art of Maintenance).

Did anyone else want to throw their shoe at the tv when Dani said that she had it worst emotionally than any other houseguest? UGH!
Auntie Anxiety
Between the Patriots game, the Red Sox and the Emmys, I had more than enough to watch without defaulting to the Douchebag Donato show. I did see about 15 seconds and just didn't have the stomach to listen to the vile venom that those disturbing Donatos spew; it's like that's their hobby. Listening to Dick's groundless diatribes once was enough for me. I started switching the channel many weeks ago as I found Dick's abuse and Daniele's entitlement issues reprehensible. Not watching on Tuesday and probably won't watch ever again. As far as I'm concerned, the biggest winner was Daniele's now ex-boyfriend.

Did anyone else want to throw their shoe at the tv when Dani started yelling, "SOOOOOOO FRUUUUUUUUUUUUUSTRATING"?

Well, it took me about 3 minutes to Tivo FF through this entire episode. I paused long enough to hear that Daniele looks like she'll be keeping the 500K to herself if she wins. Loved the look of surprise when Daniele told Dick that they wouldn't be going on a European vacation together.

Totally agree with the comment about how this seemed like one of those sitcom reminiscing episodes.

So we didn't get to hear the drumstick beating music, but instead are treated to some kind of anthemic climactic score at the end. I'm going to puke.
Mama Tiger
Wow, I'm even more glad that I neither watched tonight or Tivo'd it. I decided that I'd rather stare at a blank screen than watch the Donato Show. Sounds like I didn't miss anything except high blood pressure and a stomachache!

I'll probably Tivo Tuesday's finale and then only watch it after I find out from you brave souls whether it's worth wasting another hour of my life on this despicable season. At least it'll be the last hour I waste!
princessu

Truer words have never been spoken. I still secretly hope that he shows up in the wrap party and flirts with Jen while Dani looks on and pouts.

Did anyone else want to throw their shoe at the tv when Dani started yelling, "SOOOOOOO FRUUUUUUUUUUUUUSTRATING"?

WORD! Gosh, I haaaaaaaaaaaaaattttttttttte it when she says that. Someone should do a montage of her saying those words. But then again, they would have to be brave enough to listen to hours of Dani footage. That's torture.
geebs_criminy
Did anyone else want to throw their shoe at the tv when Dani started yelling, "SOOOOOOO FRUUUUUUUUUUUUUSTRATING"?

I really wanted to see a DR clip of her whining that ".... wasn't faiiiiiir" After hearing her say the life isn't fair when talking about Zach.

BTW, thanks for all of the info about Jen. From the clips she got tonight I thought that she seemed like possibly the reason to watch the season. She was smart enough to rebuff ED while Janelle practically threw herself at him.
AnnieMartini
The first few minutes (those I watched) did have a great Dani line. Re: Zach, and how he thinks it was "unfair" that they dominated,* but he should suck it up because, quoth the Princess, "Life is unfair."

Ha! This from the person whose 2nd favorite line (after "it's so frrrruuuuussssttting!") is "it's not faaaiiirrr!"

Also, re: Jenovese -- let's not forget that the Dani-yelling that led to TeaGate was precipitated by Jen complimenting Dani on her strength for having put up with Dick's dickishness. You don't unnnddderrsstaaaand! It's not faaaiiirrr!

* And yes, Zach did say that, but I maintain that what he was trying to say was: it's unfair that you two blood relatives always had someone to watch your backs, and THAT's what wasn't fair to the rest of us who did not enter the house with a built-in alliance.

Edit: Exactly, geebs_criminy!
sissykay
IMO, Jen was the only bright spot in the season.
onewaslost
I can understand why the HG's would hold a grudge against Jen. Her hysterics at her "terrible picture" were silly and childish. It seemed to make the HG's uncomfortable. She came off as falsely accusing Nick of trying to kiss her. In the context of the conversation she was implying it was an attempt at sex/romance not just a hand kiss as Nick claimed. Since she did not dispute Nick's denial it was natural to take his word. Even if Nick did try to kiss her on the mouth she didn't stand her ground so she lost the initiative and Nick appeared to be the innocent victim of a false accusation. We the viewers watch for a while and then go on about our lives then watch again for a while. The HG's are stuck with each other and only each other so that kind of thing will make the men fear her and the women hate her.

But I also feel that part of the reason is that the HG's know they are pretty lame for standing by and letting Nick bully Jen. So they transfer their feelings of self-doubt to Jen and hate her all the more.

And yes, Zach did say that, but I maintain that what he was trying to say was: it's unfair that you two blood relatives always had someone to watch your backs, and THAT's what wasn't fair to the rest of us who did not enter the house with a built-in alliance.

I'm sure that is what Zack meant. But I call bullshit on Zack. They entered the house with a built in handicap. The first player evicted was one of a twist pair and another member of a twist pair followed quickly. D&D did become a strong, unbreakable alliance. No one could have possibly offered a deal good enough to seperate them. But that was obvious to all the other HG's who should have gotten rid of them instead of pissing their pants that Dick might yell at them. Everyone in this house deserved to lose this season except maybe what's her name who was evicted first.

I'd like to see Eric get another chance without the producer interference. He seemed to be the only player type player.
geebs_criminy

I think that this is what Zach meant as well, AnnieMartini

Loved the voice-over guy's comment tonite about how Daniele and Dick made it 'til the end when all the odds were against them.

No. I wanted to throw Daniele at my tv. But that's nothing new.

Is there anything that those of us who didn't watch the episode should take away from this? Or was it all clips we've seen a thousand times, padded by Daniele and Dick talking about how awesome they are?
