I look forward to learning more about Toofer. He started as a seemingly one-dimensional uptight humorless guy, but we quickly got to see more sides of him. He has, after all, made the cut as a writer at a top comedy show; he must be good at it.
I enjoyed seeing him taking an active role in pranks, appreciating that the cheap gag that replaced his intellectual sketch is actually funnier, and figuring out how to work with Tracy -- to the point that he wants to be his nVROOOOOOM!r.
And Keith Powell (Delaware representation, hurray!) plays him to perfection.

I think the idea of Toofer being uptight and humorless goes to the whole idea/stereotype of comedy writers and stand-up comedians generally not being that funny in real life. I have heard or read about a lot of people who when they write or perform are hilarious but since they put so much effort into being funny then, on their down time (since to them being funny is work) they can't really be bothered.

I like Toofer at a disproportionate amount to his screen-time. Hopefully we'll see more of him this next season.

Toofer is one of my favorite characters and I just love every bit of screentime he gets. Like I said in Josh's thread, I would love some kind of small storyline with Toofer, Frank, Josh (The three Musketers?).

Love Toofer, if he wasn't played by Keith Powell my fantasy second choice would be Dule Hill. But since Dule's on Psych and is equally as funny there, I like Powell in the role.

Also Keith Powell's speech patterns are so totally Ivy League, you can see how he'd drive Tracy nuts on first meeting. Dulé isn't quite in that niche (and besides, I enjoy him so much on Psych).

I think its funny that both 30 Rock and Studio 60 had an Ivy-league black guy on the writers staff that was not that funny in their day to day interactions.
Fortunately, 30 Rock has handled it better.
The character really resonates with me because he reminds me of one of my ex-boyfriends. No Judgements!

To be precise, S60's Simon was in the cast, not a writer, and the writer Darius was not Ivy League AFAIK.

I was referring to Darius, not Simon. And I'm not sure if they ever mentioned his specific education; I was mostly commenting on his diction, mannerism, and style of humor. It seemed very Ivy-league to me.

Should we change the name of this thread to Chocolate Rain?

ITA. Personally, I've come up with the crazy theory that Liz and Toofer should hook up, just... because. To me, it seems like they would totally work. Plus, lots of hilarious drama to work with, no matter how it's worked out (secret relationship, relationship-turned-bad).

He did seem keen to father her child.

IAWTC. I always get excitedly happy when he gets some screentime, or a subplot.

I went to a musical event in Cambridge, MA the other evening where one of the featured performing groups was the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium. They did astonishingly lovely a capella renditions of Christmas carols -- but my mind couldn't help occasionally wandering to thoughts of Twofer and the Crocodillos.

The
Krokodiloes are are real! I really hope they actually did at some point do "Like a Prayer".
Edited because I initially said "Like a Virgin". Sorry, Toof.
