MTV dating show goes both ways

Judging from the commercial I saw on MTV, it looks like an STD waiting to happen.

I will be watching this.

I can't wait. This is the type of show Dan Savage would approve.

The fact that I even know who Tila Tequila is makes me want to curl up in the fetal position and weep (damn you, VH1, and your countdown of internet phenomena that I started watching because it was showing some girl eating a praying mantis or some other kind of disgusting bug, and how do you not stop to see what the hell that's all about?). As such, I'm sure you can imagine what my reaction was when I saw the ads for this show. I have no problem at all with a bisexual dating show, but Tila fucking Tequila? Nasty.

Because my television viewing can be best described as masochistic, I will be watching and hopefully not catching and STD since no one has invented a TV condom yet.

This looks like it has the potential to be the absolute best of the sleazy pseudo-celebrity relationship shows.

I can't wait.

Does anyone know where the show was shot at? A casual look at a commercial seems to suggest that it was filmed in the same house where VH-1 filmed one of their Skanks Of Love shows.

I cannot even begin to understand why this woman is famous to begin with. Yeah, she's willing to take her clothes off and splash herself all over the internet, but there's really nothing all that special about her.

She just looks nasty and 100% unnatural, and this show promises more of the same.

I know, right? It's going to be so awesome.

I hope that Tila cuts a lot of people at once for the first few elimination ceremonies because 32 is kind of overwhelming. It's hard to keep track of 32 people on the RW/RR Challenges and we already know who they all are going into it. And speaking of RW/RR Challenges, does Tila remind anyone else of a Vietnamese Jenn from the Denver season? I think they have the same exact voice.

This is going to be a really unpopular opinion, but I think she's pretty cute. Easier to look at than Flav and Bret. I can actually picture 30 young people fighting to "date" her.

But it's sad that in the handful of times (is this the third time?) there's ever been an Asian main character in an American tv show, this has to be the premise of one of them.

I can't wait till two of the contestants get kicked off for showing, er, great interest in each other. I'm thinking it's likely to happen.

Based on the fact that Bert "Wigzilla" Michaels and William "Flav of Crack" Drayton received their own pathetic shows this chick is more than deserving on looks alone to get a shot at her own series. The fact that she is Bi only adds to the trash appeal (come on and admit it - many of us will be tuning in for some gratuitous g/g scenes...)

To be fair Tila could use a bit of softening as her look is kind of harsh at times. What I find most unattractive about her is her fame-whorish attitude. Who gives a shit how many MySpace friends you have? By all accounts this is the only reason she is known to anyone....

If she got a show based on popularity on MySpace, why doesn't Tom get his own dating reality show?

They went into this knowing that it'd be absolutely trashy. I really don't want to get hooked into watching. I think what made Flava Flave so successful was his personality. If Tila is boring, and tries to carry her show based on looks and the same dating show formula we've seen before, I don't know how successful it'll be.

Disagree - what made Flavor of Love successful was the contestants and their behavior.

Flavor Flav's personality is anything but charismatic. Acting like a mental incompetent with limited grasp of the English language is far from cute and endearing in a 40 something year old man. I seriously believe the amount of crack cocaine that idiot has smoked has permanently short-circuited his brain. I watched Flavor of Love in spite of his presence.....

So is she legitimately bi, or is she just another in a long line of "hey boys, watch me kiss this girl! Are you watching? Pay attention to me!" fake bi girls? My money's on the latter.

I can't say this show looks interesting, though. If I want to look at porn, then I'll look at porn, not MTV's softcore version of it. Also, like several other commenters above, I don't want to risk contracting an STD just by watching this dreck. And finally, Tila seems to have all the charisma of a puke puddle. I'm not even convinced the show will be worth watching for snark purposes, but maybe it'll prove me wrong on that one.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who remembers this famewhore from back when she was on the first season of Ted Nugent's reality show. When he eliminated her he basically told her she had no redeeming qualities whatosever, and the only "skill" she had was "being hot" so when that runs out, she'll have nothing. Her sourpuss bitchface was teh awesomeness.

But I am actually looking forward to this train wreck. It could be the trashiest dating show in HISTORY - and I've watched 'Elimidate', 'The 5th Wheel', and 'Chains of Love'.

What insurance company would cover that production? The disease level would demand rubber gloves, constant hot water baths and barrels full of disinfectant.

Ugh, I went and googled some more on Tila Tequila, and I stand by my original opinion of her. She has to be among the skankiest skank that ever skanked.

But I have to confess that I would LOVE to watch a dating show with Bai Ling. That woman is crazy. I loved her short-lived appearance on "But Can They Sing". Her, uh, unique renditions of "Like a Virgin", "Call Me", "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", and best of all, "I Touch Myself", were extremely entertaining.

It is utterly amazing what a trainwreck that woman has become. She frequently is the target of ridicule at gofugyourself. She was a respectable actress in "Red Corner" with Richard Gere, and then something happened and she just devolved into hilarity.

Wow... a chance to get to see a cooch that I can go see for free on the internet? Sign me right up!

I'd audition. Bai Ling is slammin' hot. And she can actually act when given the opportunity. I learned that from her segment in Three...Extremes.

I don't give a damn if it's an unpopular opinion, ol TT is hot. I like skanky women so I have no problem with her. The fact the she is a bisexual kind of turns me off but I will watch this car wreck of a television show. Yes, I am a woman. TT mentioned that she had to come out to her parents as a switch hitter because they were telling all their friends about their daughter getting her own show but not having any idea what it was about. The promo for this show with various contestants is laughable. Some of them even look up and to their right while declaring that they are falling in love with TT. I hope none of those shown want to be actors/actresses given their unconvincing performances.

I'm sure this show is going to do wonders in dispelling all of the stereotypes that bisexual girls are "fake gays/half-gays" and/or straight girls who make out with each other to turn men on and break unsuspecting lesbians hearts by leaving them for men. All the lesbian blogs I've seen are betting Tila ends up with a guy at the end.

So far none of these men and women look the least bit intelligent or attractive so I probably won't care one way or the other anyway. But maybe all of these douchbags will get their own "Charm School" which will be the best shit ever.

This show will also enhance the stereotype that all lesbians hate men. I doubt most of the women are even gay but one of them(a blonde) looks like the lesbian that was on the show The Secret Lives of Women where she was a lipstick lesbian in a long-term relationship with some butchy femme looking lady. Tila will probably choose a dude.

I was flipping through and the episode caught my eye (Don't judge me!) and I am now hooked. I only saw the 'girl' segment, but good lord half those chicks are butterfaces, Tila.

Yes, that was Amanda on the Secret Lives of Women. I guess she and the girlfriend she cried about being so in love with broke up. I'm suprised the two somewhat butchy girls survived the first eliminations. I thought for sure they would be gone.

It's inevitable at some point that some of the guys will be all "Sweet, maybe we can have a threesome" because all lesbians/bisexuals are just gay until they meet the right man, right.

Why don't they just call this "A Shot at Fucking Tila Tequila"? These people are so far from mature enough to fall in love. Whatever this shit reaps however many weeks from now will be over in three hookups. Maybe less.

The gift-giving session was a showcase of cheesiness that was just pathetic to watch. "Here's some detergent. Cause I have washboard abs." Wow.

There are a couple of girls I actually wish I could helicopter out of this show. Ashli souded sincere when she said that she was proud to be a part of this groundbreaking show about lesbians in love that I almost felt sorry for her for falling for this rope-a-dope. And the girl who is a virgin needs to not be here. Honest emotion and self-discovery have no place in reality TV. You know, there are some girls I would rather see hook up with each other than with Tila. Vanessa and Rebecca in particular.

Why are all the contestants, male and female, so greasy looking?

Based on looking at Tila Tequila, I'd say trash attracts trash. I vowed that I wouldn't watch and I couldn't believe that I wasted an hour of my life on this dreck.

Rebecca is smokin' hot. Keasha was a c-blocker to the nth degree. Tila is actually better looking than half of the female contestants. I like Tila. She's a little cutie pie.

I think Tila is kind of hot too but I'm still a little suspicious of her bisexuality. And yes, Rebecca is hot. Brandi was alright too. Now, Amanda is kind of attractive but she has annoyed me since the Secret Lives of Women so I'm expecting more of the same here.

The girl Ashli is hot too but she is far too innocent for this show. She will only be corrupted I am afraid. So it appears the butchy firewoman Dani and one of the dudes are friends. Interesting. There is going to be a lot of crying on the show which is always fun.

I think that Lala girl's an actress. She was trying WAY too hard.

Especially since Tila referred to Dani as "What'sherface".

This is the sleaziest garbage I've seen since... okay, last night when I watched I Love New York 2. But still. I don't care, this show is going to rule.

I don't have much of an impression of most of the cast members since there were wayyy too many people to keep track of, but I hate that Asian girl who has the blonde streak in her hair. I don't remember a single other thing about her, including her name, but she makes me think of Tina from Road Rules and I hate thinking of Tina from Road Rules. Glad Keasha and Chaos (dude, Chaos?) are gone, though.

Rebecca is way hot and Tila seems to really dig her; I bet she'll be around for a while.

I loved when Tila told the virgin guy that she's not a virgin. The shock! Ashli the female virgin, though, seems way too normal to be a part of this.

Lala's blatant Flavor of Lovery made me laugh, as did Ashley's blatant hickery. "I've never been with an Asian chick before, but I love Chinese food." That comment was so stupid that I had to crack up.

So, that was ol girl from The Secret Lives of Women. Thanks Turkish for pointing that out. Well, she is a true blue lesbian. I laughed when Tila called her a "whole lot of woman". There was two other chicks that Tila just made out with off the bat...one's name was Vanessa and the other broad's name was...well, I don't remember but she had beautiful eyes. The Asian broad with the blonde streaks was named Grace. Brandi is hot in that stripper type of way.

I'm home. Never in my life have I ever felt so at ease with a trashy reality TV dating show. It was funny, well edited (sans one voice over during the girl elimination that would make Sandra Lee cringe), and fun to watch.

I think (this is the scariest part) I get Tila Tequila. I understand her mindset as a performer and how she could agree to do such a trashy show. I get that she plays down her intelligence to seem more accessible to guys and girls. I even get a sense of her musical knowledge just from her joking beat-boxing scene with JDMA Marcus. She has this positive, youthful energy that comes across no matter what she's doing. She loves life. And she's stunning.

My God I'm on the same wavelength as a Myspace whore. Help me. I've done lost my mind.

Now when are they casting season 2....

When Marcus said "we don't have that in our country" about being "gay for pay," I thought it was silly, because most guys on MTV dating shows are a step away from that level of desperation. Let's be honest.

The lesbain part of the show was a lot more interesting to me, and I'm a gay male. Maybe because more estrogen leads to more DRAMA. But if this show upholds the stereotype that all lesbains hate guys, it's because almost all of the guys are so annoying and hateable! Overall, I'm liking this a lot less than I Love New York 2 or Rock of Love, but I'm exited to see some bitches pulling each others hair.

Never saw the appeal looks-wise. My brother always thought she was hot as well as one of my best friends. I just never understood it.

Was SO excited to see the show cuz I'm a sucker for these slutworthy dating shows!! Her personality doesn't do much for me. She's sort of blah. Expected much different... more of a loveable bitch.

The way she just macks on the girls and then walks away is fucking weird to me. I'll give her points for a cute laugh though. Isn't it??
