No Masuka thread in the forum...tsk, tsk, tsk.

I find his character very interesting. In the book, Dex picks up on Masuka's lack of social skills and likens Masuka to himself. Does anyone think that will play out in the next season or will Masuka continue to be comic relief?

I love Masuka! He usually makes me laugh, but I thought he was really touching after Batista was stabbed and Deb was giving him a hard time for missing an opportunity for a perverted joke.

Masuka's basically comic relief but it's a testament to the quality of writing on this show that the tertiary characters like Masuka and even Camilla seem to have a back story and depth.

Masuka being shaken and sad about Batista was a touching moment, but the writers had also always allowed Masuka to be highly competent at his job. He may not have known the difference between blood and chocolate but noticed the puncture wound on Valerie and didn't listen to Dexter, while the cops would have, and ran his own toxicology screen. Plus, Dexter turned to him immediately to run the DNA test. There seems to be a brotherhood among the lab rats so that even if Dexter finds Masuka completely odd he still trusts him enough to handle a personal favor.

I almost felt bad for Masuka during Born Free. He was only being himself. Although given the scenario I think he got the message by how fast his mouth closed.

I'm finding it really distracting that Masuka always says "Morgan" on this show in reference to Dexter and Deb, and the same actor on "Chuck" is often saying "Morgan," the name of Chuck's best friend. Reminds me of when the same actress was on "Heroes" and "Ugly Betty" last season, and on both shows her name was "Charlie"!

Masuka is kind of sexuallly obsessed, isn't he? No matter what topic you start on, he immediately makes it dirty. He could make filing your tax return sound unwholesome. That said, his vest/hose line makes me laugh and laugh and laugh.

The sad thing is, I've run across Masuka's soul brothers in real life.

Poor Masuka. I think he's feeling threatened that Lundy apparently prefers Dexter. You'd think he'd realize that Lundy isn't 'one of the guys' that even Deb is and stop his jokes in front of him, but I'm not sure if he can resist. Turning everything sexual is probably an ingrained habit now!

I'm loving his character. Imagine Masuka and Tang meeting. I think the world would explode.

Hee. I think Harry Tang would hate Masuka since he's kind of amok and would be more of a Nerd Herder than a green shirt.

Yeah probably...But I'd still want to see it.
