I don't know what makes Kenneth more frightening. The earnestness? The modulated quality of his speech? Or the teeth?

I love Kenneth. I wish he worked at my work.
I used to love Jack McBrayer (MacBrayer? McSomethingelsealltogether?) when he was on Late Night. I thought he was adorable like a little puppy.

I saw Jack on the red carpet with TV Guide and I thought Joey Fatone was talking to Kenneth! Maybe he was nervous because they didn't seem that similar in previous interviews I've seen. Very polite with the biggest, most honest smile I've ever seen in my life. You can tell he really enjoys his job.
Waiting for the new season is just painful. I hope he gets a good scene with Jerry Seinfeld during the premiere.

I saw him at Second City in Chicago a while ago (Stephnie Weir was in the same cast and she joined Mad TV in 2000, so, maybe 1999?) and he was the best thing about the show, except for maybe one piece Weir did that was also fall-down funny (chain-smoking psychic). But, seriously, they were both so good that I hoped for great things for them, like Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert and Amy Sedaris the previous time I went to Second City (and, of course, Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch from longer ago). I guess Stephnie's stint on Mad TV qualified, and I watched for Jack McB on Conan, but never saw enough of him.
He is totally my favorite character on 30 Rock. I love Alec and Tina and, yes, Jane Krakowski, but Jack will always be first in my heart. When they won the Emmy, you could see him peeking over Tina's shoulder as she gave her acceptance speech and he looked exactly like Kenneth. I think it's the hairdo and the shiny smile. He just cracks me up, no matter what he does.

He went to the same college and theater program I did (a few years before me), but he was a management major. People there were pleasantly surprised when he started acting.
I remember reading an EW article several months ago that interviewed several TV assistants. Jack, Michael Urie from Ugly Betty, and someone from an HBO show that I never see (Entourage perhaps). Jack was the funniest, for sure.

Reposted from the old thread:
Jack McBrayer's interview with the Sound of Young America.
ETA: one of my favourite Kenneth moments ever is when he introduced the previouslies at the top of "Hiatus" by meowing as Jack's lips were moving. It's just so weird.
ETA a second time -- I finally got the DVDs and now realize that was a weird outtake where Alec Baldwin started meowing and I guess they found a way to fit it into an episode.

Based on McBrayer's commentary track and the promo for the S2 premiere, I hope that if there's ever a Kenneth centered episode that he does an a capella version of the theme song over the opening title sequence. (Inspired by something similar on Futurama...)

In the 2-01 thread, it was brought up that maybe Kenneth, a somewhat experienced NBC page, should not have been so utterly starstruck by Jerry Seinfeld. But I think it was both hilar and completely consistent with his characterization.
In the pilot, he says to Liz that Jack Donaghy "doesn't understand us showbiz folk". In "The Head and the Hair", he delivers a passionate monologue about the wonders of the greatest American art form and why he tolerates all the abuse he gets. In "Tracy Does Conan" he has a wonderfully whacked imaginary interview with Conan wherein Zach Braff is his movie co-star and roommate. But favourite example of Kenneth's incredible love for show business is in the same episode, when he conspiratorially whispers to the Rite Drug clerk that he's there to pick up Tracy's prescription. His look of self-satisfaction is utterly sublime.

Also, I agree with Detsi that Kenneth with an eyepatch is fantastic. The concept of "Sexy Kenneth" and the fact that it came up in a Tracy dream sequence is hilarious and needs to happen again.
And, what food was it, that he offers to Angie in Tracy's dream?

I'm so glad there is a whole TWoP thread dedicated to Jack McBrayer. I'll admit it, I've been sooort of obsessed with Jack for a few years. Before I moved to Chicago last year, I lived in the NYC suburbs, and would often visit the UCB Theatre in the city, where Jack [and countless other amazing improvisers] did really awesome comedy. I immediately claimed him as my Secret Improv Boyfriend after seeing him perform, and always hoped he'd make it big. He's just as bizarrely sweet as you'd think, too. It was neat seeing him with Paul Scheer on
30rock last week, because Scheer and McBrayer had a two-man improv show that they'd do from time to time, and seriously, it is probably my favorite thing in life. I think they still do it sometimes, in LA and elsewhere. If you ever see them on a bill together, drop everything and go. They are so good together, it's kind of ridiculous.
I was lucky enough to photograph some things Jack did at the UCB a few years back, including
Soundtracks Live!, which was a series of stage adaptations of cult 80s movies, done by comedians and musicians like Jack, Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch, Will Arnett, AD Miles, Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, and, um, pretty much all of my comedic idols from The State, SNL, and the UCB. [Anyone here remember this?]
You guys, what i'm saying here is that if you think he's adorable as Kenneth, imagine him as Duckie from
Pretty in Pink, doing the "Try A Little Tenderness" dance.

I KNOW, right?

I used to work and perform at the UCBT at the time and Jack was one of my faves. One of my best improv memories was getting to perform with him! So sweet. . . so gracious. . . much like Kenneth. . .

Oh, it's a real song all right. (Insert quotation marks around "real," "song" or whatever else your heart desires.) "Touch My Body" is Mariah's new single, the first from her forthcoming album -- hilariously titled E=MC2, which is perhaps why the video has that nerd theme? You got me.

To be honest, I liked the first two better.
WRT the most recent 30 Rock ep, I think McBrayer did a great job finding humor in lines that, on paper, weren't necessarily that funny. Take "Well, sir, I'm that whoever did this regrets her .... or his mistake, and will do the right thing." It could just lie there, but as delivered it's hilarious, especially on the drawn-out, nervous "dooo".
