In case you guys didn't see it on the homepage yet: I interviewed Scott Adsit, who plays Pete.
arc
I'm smiles-times for sure after reading that.
Shelwood
Pete having at least one tragic and painful-to-watch date was on my wish list for Season 2, so the interview made my day. I really hope they give Scott more storyline because I loved what he did with the teensy amount of time he got in S1.
LittleOat
May I suggest a title for this thread? Pete: His name sounds jewish, so he must be important.

I wrote a post about Pete last night but it disappeared during maintenance. I would really be interested to see who would be cast as his wife (if we ever see her) and the child he's scared of.

Something I noticed while watching my DVDs was his coffee mug. It so fits his character that he'd have a mug that looks like a craft project made by one of his kids. It's the little things that get me.
StaceyRosie
Damn it! Everyone is taking my thread title ideas!

Their really good about the details on this show.

The tragedy is that he really *did* look better with a wig.
Rinaldo
If the thread ever gets renamed, it would probably be good to throw in Pete's last name (Hornberger).

And yes, sad to admit it (because we all should embrace the natural features of aging and all), but he did look good with that wig.
Shelwood
I will third that shallow -- Pete looked mighty fine in that Stone Phillips wig. But I also think that he looked better just getting the hair he does have trimmed towards the end of the season. He's got a nice face, so he should keep his hair short (but not shaved -- he's too gangly to pull that off).
LiberryLady
What was it that Jack gasped when Pete was in the man-wig? "Who is that magnificent figure of a man?!"

Whatever it was, I think it would make a fine title for his thread.
arc
"Who is this leader of men?!"
The Mad Maple
"Pete Hornberger: Leader of Men" has a nice ring to it....
Miss Alli
We'll do that now, to make it look a little better, and if you want to petition your real mod for a new name, you can do that.
Karoline
Oh I am so relieved I am not alone; I'll join the group of people that thought Pete looked pretty good with the wig on.
tennyoaisu
I had JUST come in to ask if I was the only one! (Seriously, am watching the DVDs and the cold open for Tracy Does Conan was JUST on!)
KimKelly
I like him best without the wig, although the wig did look pretty good. I don't know why, but I find Pete strangely sexy.

Me too. [/little voice]

Count me in as a third.

Didn't they have a joke about his animal magnetism? Or was that my crazy, crazy, imagination?
Shelwood
After a segment on the 9/27 Colbert Report about famous folks spotted wearing WristStrong bracelets, the piece ended with a still of everyone from 30R on stage accepting the Best Comedy Emmy, then zoomed in for a closeup on Scott's upraised arm -- rocking a WristStrong. Woohoo, Scott, supporting the wrist impaired (and those soldier dudes, too, but mostly the wrist impaired)!

Oh, hell yeah! Sadly, I think it may have been the moment he put on the hairpiece and got all alpha male that I got hooked. But I still love futurePete just as much. Alec Baldwin is hot, but he's a total hair. Whereas Scott Adsit is definitely a head. And therefore more attainable.

Seriously, I love Scott Adsit so much, I want to... well,... yeah I do love him as much as Pregnant Cornbread.
Mell
Hey, dustdevil :) I've also found Pete strangely sexy since episode 1, so I'm glad to know I'm not alone! I hope we see more of his character in season 2.

Looks like Scott is doing a show with one of the writers from 30 Rock:

Adsit & Sagher
Scott Adsit and Tami Sagher are thrilled to bring their long-form improv show to New York.
Scott (actor: 30 Rock) and Tami (writer: 30 Rock) did a long run of this show when they both lived in L.A. and were working on other, non-Emmy winning television shows. Except Scott's other show, Moral Orel, did just win an Emmy, so check that out. Tami was a writer on Psych, Lucky Louie, and Mad TV. Scott is still a writer and director AND actor on Moral Orel, which seriously, you should check out on the Cartoon Network. They might look familiar because they were both on Curb Your Enthusiasm, or you might have spotted Tami in Knocked Up, or maybe you recognize Scott from Mr. Show or Tenacious D. Or maybe it's because you saw them perform when they were on Chicago's Second City Mainstage. No? Huh. Maybe one of them owes you money. What better way to get it back then after seeing their show?
KimKelly
I just saw I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With this weekend, and Scott Adsit has a small but memorable role toward the end of the movie. It's totally worth seeing and he's hilarious in it.
Bachmann
Scott's prolific - check out his bio at IMDB.

Apropos of the holiday before us, here's a link to the Morel Orel episode he co-produced, directed, and voiced: "The Best Christmas Ever".
Vitamin V
Pete's so cool. He's saved Kenneth's ass twice in one season (interrupting the page-off, shooting Donny in the ankle). Hope he has a bigger part in season 3!
arc
I think Kenneth could have won that page-off.

A year later and after finally buying S1 on DVD, I'm saying the same thing (and he's not my type at all). And while I'm not a 'shipper, I think the Pete/Liz dynamic on the show is my favorite. It's not sexual at all, but it's a genuine male-female friendship -- my favorite moments between them are their conversation in "Blind Date" about how no one can just turn a switch and be gay (complete with Pete telling Liz that Frank is a beautiful man), and at the end of "The C-Word" when he picks up an exhausted Liz after her Sugarbaker speech.
lz1982
I like the Pete/Liz dynamic as well, and while I'm a huge Jack/Liz fan, I'm kind of bummed that Jack has completely subplanted Pete as Liz's go-to office buddy.
