Pretty self-explanatory.

SPOILERS ONLY

If you want to discuss something you read in this thread, take it to the discussion thread. Some leeway is expected for clarification of an existing spoiler, if you have more info, but if your post is mostly about how the spoiler makes you feel, or where you see it headed storywise, this isn't the thread for it.

They really are keeping things under wraps with this show. I haven't heard a single thing beyond the pilot yet.

Yay! Full forum!

It's true, haven't been a ton of spoilers yet, here's what I saw over at SpoilerFix:

* The show is casting the recurring role of Bartholomew Bass, Chuck's hotel magnate father and the only person who seems to intimidate the rascal.

* Another character we'll see (in episode four) is Carter Baizen, an older guy who I guess inducted Chuck and Nate into the partying lifestyle. He's all scruff and sandals now, but he's hiding a secret.

* They're also casting for the two schools' headmasters (I guess the boys and girls go to different places).

The first ten minutes are up at Yahoo. Does this qualify as a spoiler?

I'll post in the media thread too JIC.

Sneak Peek
TWoP Bayliss
For the record, anything released by the network, like sneak peeks, aren't spoilers. The reasoning there is that if somebody is offended by hearing about the first ten minutes of the episode can just go look at it and stop worrying about it.

On the other hand, we won't open a thread for the episode proper until it airs, because I don't want the thread filling up before people see the episode, so that preview stuff is kind of in limbo.

You can discuss it in the Media thread, for lack of a better place, but if it goes on we'll look for a more permanent solution.

I've got a PDF of sides from 1.07, which includes the person (Blair) going to confess about some "indiscretions" with Chuck at the end of 1.06 and also a conversation between Blair and Chuck afterwards. So maybe it got moved up since the 9/15 spoiler?

The 4 PDF sides are available for download here. Don't know how legit it is, but it fits somewhat with the SpoilerFix news.

Ausiello's reporting that the show is looking to cast Serena's wealthy, manipulative, and larger-than-life grandmother. Ooh, another generation of bitchiness?!?!? This show's Caleb Nichol?!?!? Sounds awesome.

I think Ausiello is also trying to confirm that the role of the grandmother is going to Gilmore Girl's Kelly Bishop.

Also from FF:
Dare Devil -- 1.05
SERENA AND DAN GO ON A DATE — Dan (Penn Badgley) makes elaborate plans to impress Serena (Blake Lively) on their first official date. The same night, Jenny (Taylor Momsen) is invited to the infamous Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) sleepover and finds herself in a high stakes game of “truth or dare.” Meanwhile, when Lily (Kelly Rutherford) discovers that Eric (Connor Paolo) is missing from his treatment center, she finds herself seeking help from her ex-boyfriend, Rufus (Matthew Settle). Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick also star. The episode directed by Jamie Babbit was written by Lenn K. Rosenfeld

The Handmaiden’s Tale -- 1.06
MASQUERADE BALL, ANYONE? — Dan (Penn Badgley) is torn between two girls when his childhood friend, Vanessa (Jessica Szohr), returns home and declares her feelings for him, just as he and Serena (Blake Lively) are trying to figure out what they mean to each other. At the infamous masked ball, Blair (Leighton Meester) sends Nate (Chace Crawford) on a scavenger hunt, but Nate is ultimately still distracted by his feelings for Serena. Although Blair makes it perfectly clear that outsiders are not welcome, a disguised Jenny (Taylor Momsen) and Dan sneak into the ball. Finally, Lily (Kelly Rutherford) asks Rufus (Matthew Settle) to accompany her to an Eleanor Waldorf (Margaret Colin) event in order to make Bart Bass (Robert John Burke) jealous. “America’s Next Top Model” winner CariDee English makes a cameo as Bart Bass’ date. The episode was directed by Norman Buckley and written by Jessica Queller

"Victor, Victrola" -- 1.07
THINGS ARE HEATING UP BETWEEN SERENA AND DAN — After surviving the on-again/off-again nature of their new relationship, Serena (Blake Lively) and Dan (Penn Badgley) finally acknowledge they are crazy about each other, despite their polar opposite worlds that constantly threaten to pull them apart. Chuck (Ed Westwick) contemplates investing in a burlesque club in the hopes of making his hard-to-please father, Bart (guest star Robert John Burke), proud of him. Nate (Chace Crawford) confronts his father, Captain (guest star Sam Robards), about the drugs he found in the house, but his father denies having a problem. Jenny (Taylor Momsen) discovers a secret her father, Rufus (Matthew Settle), and mother, Alison (guest star Susan Misner), have been keeping from her. Finally, Blair (Leighton Meester) is once again devastated by Nate’s actions after Jenny reveals that Nate kissed her by accident thinking she was Serena. The episode was directed by Tony Wharmby and written by K.J. Steinberg

There are some sides from episode 1.09 here. They mostly involve Chuck actually falling for Blair, Blair getting back together with Nate and Serena and Dan's big romantic moment.

Episode stills for the episodes 1.05 and 1.06.

Please let it be Kelly Bishop!

I don't know how accurate this is but... I read this on youknowyouloveme.org

Actress Eliska Sursova is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of CW's Gossip Girl to play the role of Amena, who has a love interest in Chuck Bass played by Ed Westwick.

I read on Gawker that Gossip Girl (the character) will be revealed as Erik Van der Woodsen! Gossip Girl isn't revealed in the books, but flat out states she is a female (presumed to go to Constance, same year as S &B). If this is true, I wonder how the show will reconcile Erik with the female voiced narration?
jazz
From the ADVOCATE: Listing Connor Paolo's Eric van der Woodsen as one of five gay characters they'll be watching this season. It says that while Lily comes from a good place she's so concerned for his well being it doesn't always seem so supportive. That Chuck will be his unlikely ally in that he doesn't judge him and can relate to Eric in a way that's helpful. And that will come in handy when Eric gets his first boyfriend. Which apparently will cause ripples within the family. Though his privileged life shields him from the masses, he will face hardship. "While the main characters are accepting, not everyone in our universe is completely past homophobia." Which they translate into expecting Eric to be pushed into some lockers.

The Hollywood Reporter has posted the first five minutes of the season premiere (although as usual the first minute plus is a recap).
