From NBCUMV.com:

Bob Harper has skyrocketed from being one of the most in-demand fitness specialists in the Los Angeles area to becoming one of the most recognized and popular lifestyle personalities in the world. Now entering his fourth year as one of the fitness trainers on NBC's worldwide hit "The Biggest Loser," Harper has become one of the most credible and sought-after motivational experts on television and DVD, in books and in personal appearances.

Just have to say...I LOVE me some Bob!! He is my absolute fave!!
avid_reader
I do love Bob and think he is a sweetheart and would respond much better to him than to Jillian (who would make me want to do violent and painful things to her if she were screaming at me like she does) - but Jillian's teams always seemed to lose the most weight.

I would much rather have Bob as a trainer, though.
Brightblue
Bob's my favorite as well!!

but Jillian's teams always seemed to lose the most weight

I would really like to see one and two years later before I would comment to heavily on that for one reason, Bob seems to get to the core of the problems people are having with the food and it seems like he stays in close contact with the at home people. It seems to me that he would motivate them to keep it off and make them feel as though he is genuinely proud of them as the time passes.
I would like to see season one blue and red teams today! I think the Blue team would be healthier and would make smarter food choices IMHO.
phdmama06
I heart Bob!

I love his attitude and he is so motivating. He is one of the things which makes the Biggest Loser workout video bearable for me. Normally I hate exercise videos...
facetastic
Bob is also one of the "star trainers" on Exercise TV - if you get Comcast On-Demand, you can access his videos at any time. And I THINK you can get some of them for free on ExerciseTv.tv (in their "Studio" section).

Love him!

I LOVE my boyfriend Bob. I am so glad that the trainers are now there at the weigh-ins because I loved his reaction to the numbers. I love him.

Me too...

Now why can't Bob be at my weigh-ins??? Seeing the way he was smiling and cheering his team on made me happy. I could use that kind of motivation. *Sigh*
furlynn
Bob has always been my favorite. I know I would respond better to Bob's methods of training than the others. He jusy seems like an awesome human being.
TracyLynne
Like you all, I adore Bob. If I were on the show, I would have made a beeline for him last night. Ok, even if I weren't on the show.

One small quibble (heading to the shallow end of the pool) - he really should have his shirt off more often.

Seeing the satisfaction he gets out of helping people, and the way he seems to genuinely care for each of them, inspires me to do better in my own fitness life.
deaja
What are you talking about your boyfriend Bob? Bob is my boyfriend, and I'm not sharing!!!!
ThatPoshGirl
Because it can't be said enough, I love Bob.

If I were ever on this show, I would definitely want Bob as my trainer. He seems to get more involved emotionally with the contestants.
duckierose
He reminds me a lot of my trainer, which may explain why I spend half my time drooling on him and half my time wanting to lick every inch of his body.

Don't tell my boyfriend I said that.

Anyway, having a ridiculously hot trainer makes me want to work that much harder, to please him.
Torop
Yay! The thread title got changed to add "Boyfriend"!!!

Also, I love tattoos. That's hot. I wish he was rocking the faux-hawk again this year, though.

I think that having a crush on Bob burns some calories.

It would have been truly fantastic if everyone raced towards Bob, since they figured that being on a team with Kim was a worse fate than getting kicked off the show.

Ahhhh that would have made my day! I know I would have been pushing Jerry aside to get over to Bob first!!
DanaMB
Bob was on DOOL today. (No scenes with Ali.)

It was...weird.
Meggs
Whoa. Bob on DOOL was just weird. And with Kate, seriously? However, I would fly to LA to take his yoga class any day.
Stinger97
Was it advertised that Bob was going to be appearing on DOOL? Not that I keep up with soap operas or watch them in general, but I reckon I would have heard something about him doing a cameo somewhere.
DanaMB
I had NO idea and I watch DOOL everyday, read the rags, and the soaps forum here.

Ha - so true! Bob is hot, a nice person and seems to care a lot. I love him too, he's always been my fave. :)
Clara89
OK. I officially love Bob! When he encouraged Jerry after he "lost" the challenge, it was just a teeny crush. But when he brushed the hair aout of Patty's face and held her a little as she cried, it developed into pure love. He's ten times better than Kim. And now, he's comforting Amy? He's such a sweetheart.

I loved him like crazy already, but when he praised her as she finished the elliptical and then when he helped Amy, my heart just burst. Plus, my name is Patty. I'm overweight (but not like the Patty on BL) but losing too. In the gym, I pretend Bob is there pushing me on. It works! Now I need to pretend he's brushing the hair out of my face when I'm at the end of my workout (but I don't cry at mine).
I also loved how happy he was to see Jillian
Tigger 7
Those two simple moves by Bob showed that he has compassion for the contestants. The fact that he went over to encourage one that wasn't even on his own team just solidified that...especially in sharp contrast to Kim's "You're making me look bad! They're going to blame me! ME! ME! MEEEE!!!!" whine. Bob seems to care about what happens to the people on the show. Kim seems to care only how what happens to the contestants on the show reflects on her.

Give me Bob any day!!
Raguel
I like him, too. He's so sweet, and Southern, and, well, such a good boy. Bet he calls his mother every week and talks for two hours about whatever she wants to talk about.

I like Bob the best of all the trainers because I think he knows that self-esteem is such a huge factor. I usually just have this show on in the background, and my perception of Jillian and (uh, the blonde one) is that they tell people to power through it. Bob also seems to address the emotional components of weight loss. A person has to believe they have worth, too, it's not all just aerobics and weight training and eating carefully.

edited for spelling

Did you all see my boyfriend Bob last night? He was 12 kinds of awesome! From the rallying of Jerry's spirits, to the heartfelt words of encouragement to Patty, to the concern for Amy, to the absolutely hot jump over to pick up and greet Jillian...it was all good. Love him!
GingerBird

I did, Torop, I did, and last night made me love him even MORE ... if that's even possible. I do agree with whomever posted here that we need more Shirtless!Bob. Gosh, that's a hot promo pic of him. And those tattooed arms ... Wow. He's a motivator all right.

Bob: Is he the perfect man/trainer/best friend or what?
Timex
Add me to the Bob love boat. He was a total class act yesterday. What a great smile that man has.
jnymph
I'm hopping on the Bob love boat. A compassionate man is a sexy man.

Are we sure he isn't gay? I asking that in a serious and most loving way, because he almost seems a bit too good to be true.

I mean, he can still be sexy AND gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Just sayin.
takinitoff
jnymph, I thought the same thing. I really hope he's not because he's so freaking HOT.

I just found out that one of my best friends used to know him pretty well (squee!) and apparently he's been out for years now. I don't know if being on the show has pushed him back into the closet a little bit because that would be a shame. My friend says Bob is one of the nicest people he's ever met, and what you see of him on the show is the real deal. That makes me so happy. Yay.

Aw that's awesome !

I have to admit though, I'm disappointed to hear he is gay. I wanted to dream I had a shot at him. It would be nice to to think there are compassionate, sweet, hot straight men out there such as Bob. : (

Nonetheless, I agree it would be a shame if he felt a need to crawl back into the closet.

And I do still love him. : )

I looked and didn't find anything ... maybe they've been pulled now that BL has begun?
applepie77
IIRC, I do remember reading/hearing about Bob playing for the other team. However, that doesn't bother me at all. He can still be gay AND be my TV Boyfriend and motivator. I wonder if any of the men on his team have had their gaydars ping -- can't imagine it would bother any of them, but ya never know. I'm ok with that. Can't wait for next week.

BTW, LOVE the name of this thread. It's sooo appropriate.

Whether he is or isn't, a quick search of Google shows that they are selling him that way on a gay shopping website. Doesn't matter to me. I'd still want him as my trainer because I sincerely get the impression that he cares about what happens to the contestants and really is "in their corner" supporting them, and that's exactly what I respond best to. (And yeah, gay or straight, the man is easy on the eyes.)
GingerBird
The best line on last night's show:

Bob: "Hmmmm ... eggrolls. Yummy!"

Seeing Bob on that spinner bike: Yikes. He could have lit up the entire city of LA if it had been hooked up to a generator. I was seriously thinking about becoming a gay man watching him last night.
jasunshine
I adore Bob, but we all know that morbidly obese piggyback exercise was a bad idea/accident waiting to happen which did happen and ultimately made Jerry injured and therefore very vulnerable. I'm sure he feels terrible about it. But unless I wasn't paying attention, that lapse in judgment (I think the adrenaline high got the best of boyfriend Bob) wasn't acknowledged on screen last night at all. I'm guessing this was for legal reasons but I can't imagine he wouldn't have said anything to the team and to Jerry. You risk injury all the time with high impact activity and that's part of the game, but this risk factor was amped up more than unnecessarily. Doesn't make him a bad trainer at all. But it is a really big ommission for the show to act as though nothing ever happened.
Racerex
I partially I agree with you jasunshine, having them run around with each other on their backs - particularly in such a confined area - was an accident waiting to happen. It also shows them, and us, that it's possible to work out and do exercise with improvised weights/friction device. You don't need to spend hours in the gym (despite the not-so-subliminal advertising), you can workout at home, without the expense of a gym membership or fancy equipment.

That's my take on why they show that anyway.

They've all signed disclaimers against the producers, trainers, etc. So I'm not too worried about Bob getting sued anytime soon.

Okay, I've always just assumed he was because of his involvement with a product called Queer Abs.  Just a guess, though.
devilschild
Gay or not, I still like Bob no matter what. IMHO...he's the best trainer of the three.
Deianeira
I bet that every single person on Bob's team, no matter what their gender or sexual preference may be, has a crush on him. How could they not?
Torop
On a completely superficial note (and really, how else do I talk about Bob), I LOVE him in the button down shirt. He pretty much can wear anything and look good, but that button down shirt he was wearing at the weigh-in looked amazing on him.

Also, the lighting in the weigh-in room is great for him as it highlights his cheekbones really well. I basically rewind the cut shots to Bob at the weigh-ins over and over because he just looks so. damn. good.

I was also hoping he would go back and sneak a cupcake.

From Potes' weecaplet (which is better than the real show):

Meanwhile, Bob has his team do yoga outside. He says that they can get a good workout, but still feel like they're on vacation. He's no Rodney Yee, but he gives a good effort.

Ok, but Rodney Yee (I have a couple of his dvds) is not anywhere near as supportive or encouraging as TrainerBoyfriendBob. I'd so love for Bob to do a Yoga dvd and be his encouraging, smiling self. Would be very relaxing.

Also, during last night's weigh-in, how CUTE was it that Bob was holding hands with one of the women contestants as the Blue team weighed in. It was so Bob and so why he's the perfect TV Boyfried.
jlco123
I can't believe that we had to see Jillian and Kim in bikinis but we didn't get one shot of Bob shirtless. Is that really too much to ask? Take that shirt off for all us ladies.

So much word, applepie77.

Bob has yoga videos? *shrieks* WHO HAS BEEN KEEPING THEM FROM ME????

*takes deep pranayama breath, calms down*

Seriously, Rodney Yee is so over. It's Bryan Kest and Bob.

They should invite Bob to the YogaJournal conference. It would be a mob scene. You know how they have "video church"? It would have to be Bob's "video yoga". There would be so many people, they'd have to rent a football stadium.
katje
AFAIK, Bob doesn't have a yoga-only DVD; however this video has a ten-minute yoga cooldown at the end. If you watch the video clip, there is the briefest blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot of that cooldown (the outdoor shot you see at the end).
Zatoichi
Not much Bob this week, but what there was was good -- fully agree with the praise he heaped on Kae (the lone blue team member I like). The guy's obviously a great trainer (his only dumb move coming when he had his team carry each other on their backs, leading to Jerry getting injured) and a great guy. Kim could learn a lot from him (and should).
Torop
While I hurt for the absence of Bob, the one thing to note is that if there is not a lot of Bob in an episode, it means that the blue team does not have to go to elimination. And that makes Bob happy, so that makes me happy.

I love watching him during the weigh-ins. He seems so genuinely happy and excited for his team. Love him.
