It does look okay. I've set my DVR to record the first two episodes on Wednesday night, but I'm having trouble locating the channel and time it'll be airing in syndication in my area. I've tried to do a search for a website but have had no such luck. Does anyone have any idea where I could locate the syndication times?
Also, it's a relief the EW dude was just a guest host. I know the guy had no experience, but that was just awful. Hopefully Rossi is much better.

There is no national website listing all the markets. However, I know that in my market the station that's confirmed to air it hasn't bothered to update their schedules for next week (!) as of yet, so maybe there's still hope for you.

You can find your market at

The first two shows tonight are charity shows with AI alum Kimberly Caldwell, Mikalah Gordon and Justin Guarini. A quick preview can be seen

Unfortuately Maya, after tonight's two debut episodes the show may not be appearing on MYTV in everyone's area. Because it's being syndicated it can turn up on CW networks, as well.

I'll have more thoughts later, but after the first segment:
NIKKI FROM FASHION HOUSE!!! I miss her.

I was INSANELY jealous of Mikalah when she got that Apple offer - THREE IPhones, an 80-GB video IPod and a Apple music player/alarm clock for NINE DOLLARS? I would have tried to reach through that TV screen and slap the makeup off her if she didn't take it. I think that if they keep making offers like those, they're going to be really hard to pass up, which would make the final lightning round really interesting.
Speaking of which, I think I prefer the sixty-second/5 points questions of the old version instead of this thirty-second/10 point questions version. As Justin Guarini showed, one or two mistakes can blow the entire game, taking out almost all the suspense.
The 'Seen On Temptation' bit during commericals was a nice touch. Being a broke male college student living in dorms, I didn't see anything that really caught my eye, but I'm looking forward to seeing what they offer in the future.
All in all, I'm so glad we get to see this again on U.S. shores. All it needs is some ramping up of the prizes, and it could be ready to go for primetime.

It looks like this might not be such a bad show. I think once people (the host, the home audience) get the hang of things the pacing of the show will flow a lot more smoothly. I think my only criticism at this point is that when the Instant Bargains are offered all you have to do is wait until you get the "you have 5 seconds to buzz in" so that you get the best offer.
I didn't watch the second episode (I find celebrity editions of game shows extremely boring) but I'll probably check out the regular show.

According to the commercials running during tonight's episodes,
Temptation will be airing at 2 and 2.30PM on New York's MYTV station. It won't start until Monday though, which is why I think I couldn't find when it would be airing on my DVR. I'm glad I got that all cleared up. ;)
I was pretty surprised to see the show offered Mikalah three iPhones. One was great, two was amazing, but three? That was crazy. As you mentioned,
Dbrain, Mikalah would have deserved a right beating if she had passed on such an offer. Her four tickets to anywhere in the US and crystalized thongs were also pretty sick. All in all, she made out like a bandit.
I couldn't care less about the "Seen On" products featured (and I don't anticipate caring in the future), but I have to hand it to the producers of the show for implementing something so simple that could potentially bring in the at-home wife demographic. With services such as HSN and QVC so popular with that audience, it really was something of a no-brainer to do a tie in with purchasing products. Good on them.
Anyway, it seemed to be quite well done and I'll be tuning in again.

It needs some serious tweaking.
The host seems like a bit of a lunkhead, and I wish he's stop saying "Temptation dollars" all the time. Yes, I'm aware what I'm watching, thanks.
You know what $otC had that Temptation (at least the first eppy, I didn't see the second) doesn't? That's right... male models.
Assuming the winning score will typically be in the $60-80 range, and a car being $900+ dollars, I really can't see people willing to stick it out that long. The bonus prizes need to ramp up faster, and in the days of multimillion dollar top prizes, there needs to be some very serious bling up on that stage.
I did like the better use of audiovisual questions over the original, because I'm hearing impaired. It makes me more likely to want to try out for the show.

Sigh...I know. At least the strange hotness of Mikaleh was enough to balance that off. Hopefully we'll see some bikini-clad women soon.
I know there are some issues with this show, but in an era where EVERYTHING looks like DOND, something about the presentation of Temptation feels...classic.

My husband and I stumbled across this a few nights ago and we couldn't determine if it was an infomercial masquerading as a game show. With Sale of the Century, there was no doubt because IIRC, they weren't trying to sell anything to the viewer directly! Just not polished at all. I don't watch AI, so the only one I recognized (somewhat) was Sideshow Bob, I mean Justin.

Not that I don't dig the show, but the editing is ridiculously choppy. In the first episode during Super Knockoff, Rossi tells Linda that there's one correct choice still on the board that's hiding $100. Linda decides to stop and Rossi reveals that behind the "Amy Grant" square is $100. Linda then gasps as if she had no idea that $100 was left on the board. You know, even after Rossi just told her.
During the second episode we had Trhea turn down the gym temptation and respond to the "audience" and their jeering. Even though the show isn't filmed in front of a live studio audience. We know this because, a.) the EW online video article featured no audience and b.) the actual show never pans over an audience. So producers, stop making the contestants "act" and attempt to fool the audience. It's uncool and insulting.
During the first episode the contestant missed the $1000 in the Instant Cash segment and Rossi stated that the top prize would therefore be bumped up to $1500 for the next episode. During the second episode though, Instant Cash's top prize was apparently $3500. I'm assuming that the affiliates are airing the episodes out of order, which doesn't make much sense considering there are segments from each episode that carry over.
And one final complaint - I hate that when the winner takes a prize in Shopper's Paradise, they forfeit their chance to return. You should be able to spend the money that you've won during the episode, bank what's left over, and then return to try your hand again and begin padding your temptation bank account again. I dig seeing contestants racking up prizes, so that would have been much more fun. Oh well.
I've typed a novel all over a half-hour gameshow. Wow.

The episodes will be in order in each half-hour for those of you that get two episodes. The second window picks up an undetermined amount of episodes later in the run.

That's actually par for the course with all versions of $otC. Do you take the prize or risk it all for a bigger one?

Pretty good episode today with Mark coming back for a 5th (and final) time tomorrow to try his hand at winning the car. It's sad at how I've been following his progress for this entire week and how badly I'm hoping he scores the Prius. I need to see someone win the car in the show's first week on the air.
Also, apparently after Instant Cash reaches $5000, it stops increasing when you don't pick the top prize. That disappoints me.

I was actually on the show (my episode aired today at 2pm, and if you couldn't figure it out from my handle, I'm Kelly). They are airing out of order for some reason, but we were told that was possible. They did say that one episode was being pushed up to air first because it was really exciting, but I didn't know they'd move things around so much. I was very surprised to learn that my show would be airing already. If it had aired in order, it would have aired at the end of the first week in Oct.
I did want to comment on this:

We were never asked to act or anything. If you see someone reacting towards the "audience" (and no, there isn't one), they're actually reacting to the production staff. There were quite a few people out there on the stage with us, I'd say roughly 10-15, and they all react the way an audience would. They clap, say "awww", etc. just trying to keep up the energy of the show.
Rossi was pretty great, IMO. Friendly, easy to talk/banter with, and at ease in front of the camera. Very nice. Not to mention very easy on the eyes. Heh.
I was sad to see one bit from my episode was edited out: I was offered the first instant bargain, and Rossi asked my competitors if I should take it. Of course, they were expected to say yes. Shar did, but the girl next to me (sorry, her name escapes me right now) said, "no, I wouldn't do it." LOL! Rossi was sort of beside himself with surprise. Hee!
Regardless of if the show takes off or not, it was a really fun experience, one I'd love to do again. Plus I got to walk away with about $2,400 in prizes, and I didn't even win. Not a bad way to spend the day!

Double runs usually have the episodes split between early in the run and somewhat later in the run so this is unfortunately par for the course. It also appears that the weeks themselves aren't going to be run in order (other than where a returning champion appears), so Friday's episode might have the Instant Cash worth significantly more (or less) that the following Monday's episode, which would make little sense to the astute viewer (a very small part of the population...which no doubt the producers realize and couldn't care less about)

Today's episode had one of the most obvious edits I've ever seen on any TV show. At the start of the show, Rossi is wearing a tan shirt, which is clearly evident in his opening lines and when he runs to the podium. Then there's a very clear editing cut, then he's standing at the podium ... in a blue shirt.
What the hell happened THERE?

And to add some more salt to the wound, the double-run markets already have one repeat episode (at least for this week). It also seems like the warehouse is a little empty as they've offered those fluorescent light bulbs five times already today (8/26--across both episodes)

I don't think the show's too bad for a low rent, low budget game show. I don't remember the Jim Perry version that well, so maybe that's why it doesn't bother me too much.

Question: what the heck are the lyrics to the theme song? (Yes, I've Googled.) I think it's something like:
You can't ... fight? ... the temptation
Can you ... feel the love? ...
Temptation!
...For today?
As you can see, I'm very unsure of a lot of it. Anyone?

I'll edit this if I listen to it later and find I mistyped, but IIRC, it's

Temptation...
Are you tempted?
Rossi has to take a week and sit down with Perry-era $otC, so that he could learn a thing or four. Perry would merely coax the contestant into pressing the buzzer on the Instant Bargain, and never do a "Oh, come on, you're crazy if you don't take this bargain." I don't think it's good form to berate the contestant. Besides that, "Going once, going twice, no sale" is much more dramatic than a time clock, since you never knew when Perry would decide to kick in another c-note after saying "going twice". And the "no parting gifts but lotsa love" schtick? Weak.

I seriously think that's the worst part of the show. If I were playing, I'd definitely take the Instant Bargain any chance I get, just because there's such a high likelihood that I'd end up with nothing.

I remember the great old Jim Perry episodes, with Summer Bartholomew as one of the models (and they were the only game show I remember with male models as well). It's a nice attempt, but still weak. And why have I seen no male contestants? (I've only watched a handful of episodes so far.)
My biggest disappointment...this is what Rolonda Watts is doing now? Woman, you wanted to be the next Oprah, your daytime show lasted longer than more well-known names, and now you're announcing and shilling HERE? To quote from Fred Willard in "A Mighty Wind"...Wha happad?

There have been a few men (one that won a Toyota Prius), but for the most part it's been women featured as contestants. I guess that makes sense since they seem to be targeting a female audience and many of the prizes are female oriented. The dude who won the Prius was constantly getting offers for cosmetics and spa treatments. I wonder why he wasn't tempted.

My thing about her is, yes she does have a distinctive voice, but she
way over-exaggerates her voice on this show. Especially during the end when she is describing the shoppers paradise prizes, omg, it takes all I have not to mute the tv. Her voice is so annoying.
It is really sad how far she has fallen though. To have your own talk show for years, and now an announcer for a game show where not only is she heard & not seen, but they hardly ever even mention her by name.

One of the main reasons I watch this show is to laugh at the announcer's voice. "Okay Temptation shoppers!" It's horrible...I love it.
I actually quite enjoyed this show. It had a nice pace to it, the host was pleasant, the contestants were relatively self-aware, and the prizes were fairly decent. It is heavily geared towards women though, which as a guy, is kind of annoying to watch.

I always feel bad for the male contestants, especially when the show attempts to tempt them with a bag of makeup or like, 15 designer purses. Or when they have a male model trying to display some prize and all the female contestants are all, "woo, girl, he hot!" while the lone male contestant can only smile uncomfortably. Poor guy.
I guess it serves us right, though, when shows like
Deal or No Deal have 20-something women on a stage, basically there to look beautiful.
