Anna was my favorite dancer in her season (she was partnered with Jerry Rice). She's still one of my favorites, even though she sat out seasons three and four. When I found out she was going to be in this season, I was thrilled! Anna is sexy, feisty, smart, and best of all, a great teacher and a great dancer. She's also great TV. Who can forget her fighting the idiotic judge comments by saying, "We tangoed to Blondie, for God's sake!"? Or (the quote I used) when she had a group dance rehearsal, sparred with Maksim, and told him she was going to walk all over his face (the dance involved Tia Carerre walking over his face)?
I love watching her dance with her equally talented and attractive husband, Jonathan. No matter how they fare this season, at least we'll get to see them in the pro dances.
Her partner this season is some Abercombie & Fitch model. I hope they are a strong pair.
*If anyone would prefer the title be changed to something like "Walking All Over Your Thread", or something else entirely, go ahead. I just came up with this because I liked the quote. I know the title isn't brilliant.

No, I personally love your title. It's her signature moment for me. I still remember it after all this time. Too bad she's stuck with the model, but maybe him bringing "teh pritty" (I actually don't see it from the pics so far - YMMV) will keep Anna around for awhile.

I was thinking "Russian Spitfire" for the title, but yours is a lot better.
Glad to see her back!

I adore my Russian Spitfire! I was shocked and thrilled to see she was coming back to the show this season.
I'm interested in seeing how she fares with her model partner because Jerry Rice was an athlete with a legendary work ethic and the ability to be coached. I will always love her for her 'What did you coaches do? Feed you cookies?' quote that first episode with him.
I don't know what this model guy has as far as an ability to be coached and we've all seen Anna... she doesn't mess around. "In Soviet Russia, ballroom dances YOU!"
So I want to see how this partnership fares... but if nothing else, I'm beyond thrilled to see Russian Spitfire again. Yay Anna!

I'm looking forward to seeing Anna this season! I hope that she stays in the contest for quite a few weeks.
As for the thread title, I think that Anna's thread title must include the words "Russian Spitfire". Just a friendly suggestion.

Thanks thinman for the link. The dance was fun and the humor was so Anna. And she has such a smoking body <dripping envy :)>. I can't wait to see what she does with Albert Reed. They will make a strikingly beautiful couple on the dance floor.
ETA: I tried to vote also and got an error. So I'm writing in my vote for Russian Spitfire :o).

Taken from Maks’ forum Meeting Jonathan & Anna
TennilleF1
Posted: Sun Jul 29, 2007 5:24 pm Post subject: I met Jonathan Roberts & Anna TrebunskayaYAY!!!! So I was lucky enough to meet 2 of the pros from DWTS!
I was watching TV, completely unassuming, and this little message pops up at the bottom of the screen saying something about this ABC Fall Red Carpet Screenings Tour. And that there would be pro dancers from DWTS at the park the next day! So I went down and it was Jonathan Roberts & Anna Trebunskaya. Who... I didn't know where married... folks... I'm out of the loop. LOL Anyhow... they performed 2 numbers and were SO good!
Anyhow, there was a Q&A, and I remembered there were some questions that the ladies here had been asking that I wanted to make sure were asked. Do the pros have any say in their music and who makes the costumes and do the pros have any say in who they dance with?
Anyway for those of you who wanted to know....
The Music.... after the elimination show, and they know who's making it to the next round... the pros are given their music and they take it home that night and choreograph the dance. So it's ready to start rehearsal the next day. And Jonathan emphasized how difficult and stressful it was to choreograph 2 dances for those who make it that far! So the pros don't choose their music at all. It's given to them.
Costumes (this one was interesting)... They have a whole staff there that makes all the costumes. Once they know what they're dancing, the pros actually suggest what the star shound wear. And they sort of work as the stylist for the star. Of course they don't MAKE the costume, but the give the style and direction of what it should look like to the seamstress.
To think Maks was partly responsible for all those hot dresses Laila wore!!! LOL
And then the last one was about the partners.... The pros actually have no say at all in who they dance with. They don't even tell them who they're partnered with. They just stick them in a room and then the celebrity enters and that's the first meeting. They have no idea up until that point. And Jonathan was saying sometimes they actually go to that celebrities house to meet them. They'll move to where that person is and meet them and then start training. He was talking about when he first met Heather Mills... I have it recorded on my camera... but am currently having issues on how to format it to upload it to youtube. Anyhow... they don't tell the pro who they're paired with because they don't want the pro to research the star at all and then pull out of the competition because they dont' think their partner is any good. So it was really awesome!
I recorded their dancing too... but as I said... I have no idea how to get it onto youtube... maybe someone could help??? If someone can tell me how to do it.... LOL I'm internet challenged!!!!

I am new to this show, and SYTYCD. However, I fell in love with
Pasha and Anya(whose real name is also Anna) from SYTYCD, so when I first saw that video you linked to I was confused, to say the very least. I was like "this is not Pasha and Anya",at least not the ones I was used to. Anyway, im now trying to learn about these people before the show starts and have watched this one a couple times since then. She seems like a real hoot and "russian spitfire" seems quite fitting.

Welcome back Anna! She's as feisty as ever, tonight when she asked the judges if all their gushing over hip actions meant they liked the dance. She's got her work cut out for her with Albert, but they're a good match so far.
I hope the makeup people don't keep putting bright red lipstick on a redheaded woman.

Here we are a week later, and I'm talking to myself in Anna's thread (and Jonathan's thread). Not the best dance for Anna, but she and Albert are adorable together. Can't believe they made her dance to 99 Balloons. Almost as annoying as the infamous Jerry Rice tango to Blondie.

My (imaginary) love affair with this woman will not end. It just amazes me how her bluntness would be grossly obnoxious coming from most others, but she never seems ungracious and always seems to be loving every minute she spends on the show. I forgot what she even said about her partner tonight. Something like, "I'm surprised you did well," or something to that effect.

Oct 2, 2007 @ 2:36 am
I never understood what you guys were talking about - but she's magnificent! You're right. She said something after that comment that was even worse -- something like "I didn't expect much from you in the beginning." She's a riot! But so yummy doing it. I wasn't too crazy about his gangly Quickstep but I like his personality and expressions, so I hope they stay and he shows steady improvement. Last week was brilliant; maybe they can be that inventive again, with the Latin dances at least.

Oct 2, 2007 @ 7:55 am
I like her! She had some funny foot-in-mouth moments when she said that she didn't expect much from Albert and that she was surprised he did well. Maybe her outspoken nature doesn't bug me because it seems she just blurts out whatever comes into her head, not in an attempt to be catty or derogatory (unlike many of the other people on the show), but just because she lacks a filter between her mouth and brain. It was like she didn't realize what she had said about Albert, until Drew paused slightly after her comment.

I have a feeling Anna was happier leaving now, but being paired with Albert, than leaving weeks from now and having to contend with Wayne Newton the whole time. It's sort of like the old joke: "I spent a month one day in Philadelphia."

Anna and Jonathan were gorgeous in their dance last night. If any of the female pros stayed around most of the season, I wish it could've been her.
Such kind words:“It’s a big shock and a big loss for the show,” pro dancer Anna Trebunskaya said, tears streaming down her face. “She was one of the best performers on the show ever. I think the show might suffer a little bit because the level of dancing will go down. It’s so sad that America didn’t vote for the best dancer. She was so clearly the best.”

I do love Anna, and I think she could go far with the right celeb. She looked really good tonight, better than I remember. I seem to remember she might have had lighter, less red hair at the beginning of the season. If so, she really needs to stick with the hair color she had tonight, as the blondish look washes her out.

Anna rocks, I pray she'll be back next season with a celeb with some natural talent and a fan base!
I thought it was very sweet the way that Anna spoke about Marie and all of her ice and injuries that the *wretched Bride of Chucky* and her *media-whore* brother failed to disclose. Yeah, the Osmond thing got old this season, but I think Anna's statements about Marie were telling.

I do want to see Anna back as well, love her! She definitely needs a celeb with natural dance talent and a decent sized fan base. As much as I love Edyta, I would like to see more of Anna and her choreography. She might have done even better with Cameron if she had the chance. Although I do admit that Edyta and Cam looked very good together.

I'm actually undecided on the last part. I agree with the hot, fiery and beautiful dancer part. I need to see more of her to know what I think of her as a teacher and choreographer. She did work well with Jerry Rice and her time with Albert was so short. But I'd like to see what she could get out of a student who has natural talent as well as a fanbase. Albert might have had talent, but we never really got to see that.

I'm so glad BBC is airing Season 2 of DWTS...I missed a lot of episodes since I wasn't quite a fanatic back then.
Anyway, I love Anna...these might be some of the quotes that earned her the nickname "SPITFIRE!":
(Interview) I definitely take a Russian mentality into the dance studio...you either do it or you DIE!
(To Jerry) Everyday with me is gonna be torture...well what do you expect from your coaches in football...what they like feed you cookies everyday?
Here is a news
clip that featured Anna and new dance partner, Pavlo, during early 2007.

I like Anna as well. Watching her with Jerry was quite amusing. Jerry had an ENORMOUS fan base, but his dancing was pretty average. Albert had some nice moves, but MINIMAL fan base. Why can't they give her somone with a combo of Albert's moves with Jerry's visibility and likeability.

I really love Season 2 because of Anna! Yeah, just wait, a couple of more weeks and she really gets into it (a lot of eye rolling and mouthing-off to defend Jerry and their dancing from the judges)!
Here is a
clip of Jerry and Anna's Cha Cha Cha (Episode 1) that includes the rehearsal footage!
Another short
clip of Anna and dance partner, Pavlo/Pasha, at the Holiday Dance Classic last month (they placed 6th in the Pro Latin event). If you look closely, they move towards the corner where Jonathan is standing...Shirley Ballas was also watching.

I loved Anna just because she provided me my favourite S2 moment when she was yelling at Maks and basically told him she'd walk on his face. It was so funny because she's like 5'4 and there's Maks over 6 feet tall and she's yelling up at him.

Jan 9, 2008 @ 1:41 pm
I remember that...they were fighting over space on the dance floor for the group salsa and Anna was telling Maks to move more or something -"Maks this is a six couples routine!"
That's also the same scene when Cheryl gives Drew the bloody nose!
lioness51
Jan 9, 2008 @ 1:45 pm
Yeah she basically told him it wasn't all about him but Maks was explaining to the choreographer that they'd moved back as far as they could. Her threatning to walk on his face was in response to his telling her to get off his back.

Best group rehearsal ever. I think that might be what made me love Anna forever. The funny part is she's probably the only pro that can say certain things and it makes me love her more. Granted I think she was trying to get across the point that eventually she'd be dancing with Tia if Maks didn't move over. But love tiny Anna standing up to him and everybody else just sort of looking the other direction. Plus the bloody nose is always fun too.
