Hey dere. I'm Nick, and I'm from Minnesota, and I have the common sense to like Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss, which is the only good thing ever to come out of Wisconsin. Go Vikings!

His favorite non-alcoholic drinks include protein shakes. Yeah, ok. If he's going to be like that, whatever, I just hope he's shirtless a lot.
One of his hobbies is croquet? At least they gave up on the hilarious "favorite books" portion of the questionnaire.

His favorite movies are Legends of the Fall, Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans. Hmmm...all movies where the male leads spend substantial screen time shirtless or half-dressed. My gaydar is on high alert.

He seems smart and level-headed, which of course will make him the hugest target this side of Janelle/Jase.

The way I see it, if Nick was labeled "Former Pro-Baseball Player" nary a one of us would guess he meant MLB team. Maybe a farm team, but probably not AAA.
So when I see "Former Pro-Football Player" I am forced to assume he means either (a) arena football or (b) he was on the practice team for an NFL team (Yes, his profession was "football player", but not on the roster.) Maybe maybe XFL, but that would put him as a player in 2001 when he was, what, 19?
My money's on arena football.
Trompe L'Oeil

I can't help but think if he had played in the NFL, we'd be informed of the team. All this "professional athlete" bullshit implies a lesser known arena of sport.

I was skeptical of "former pro football player" as well, so I did some searching. According to Joker's, his name is Nick Starcevic, and he was indeed a pro football player... in FINLAND. He was on the
Seinajoen Crocodiles. I'm pretty sure this is him because this person's previous team looks like it is Minnesota - Crookston and Nick is from Minnesota.

Nick definitely played for the University of Minnesota at Crookston, he appears on the rosters in 2004 and 2005. For those who are interested, his stats then were 6' and 205. So I'd say that's him on the Crocodiles roster you found, Blackwing.
Rocky Monoxide
Jul 6, 2007 @ 12:27 pm
Well, the Seinäjoen Crocodiles are totally the best team in the Finnish Football League, so at least his "pro football" secret isn't something embarrassing. (According to their website they have won the "Maple Bowl" several times. Seriously, you can't make this stuff up.)
Somehow I suspected that "pro football player" implied "overseas pro football player" in the same way I suspected "senator's daughter" implied "state senator's daughter." And "multi-business owner" presumably implies "multinational industrial conglomerate," right, Kail?

Wow, I never really thought about overseas football. Basketball, maybe, but I guess I didn't really know there were overseas football teams. Well, I mean, I did, but I thought their balls were round and black & white and would be referred to as "soccer" in the States, you know?
When I first tried to find info on what team he played for, I got a lot of links to a Nick of the same name playing football at North Carolina (my alma mater), and I was really worried for a minute he was representing UNC. A sigh of relief to realize it was a different guy that is currently there!

Great pick-up on the pro football player reference, blackwing. I knew this guy couldn't have been an NFL player. Maybe a Canadian player or Arena player at best, I was thinking. But now to learn the guy played in Finland? I wonder what would possess a guy to go over to Finland at the ripe old age of 22 or 23. Sheesh, if you're not good enough for North America, why bother?
I'm not really seeing the hotness in this guy. He's got a nice set of abs, but I agree about the comments about his face. Just. not. pretty.

Many people's favorite songs are what they heard within the past couple of hours prior to filling out a questionnaire. Much more random commitment than favorite book or movie for some reason. Probably just got through the Sopranos finale around the time the lead singer of Boston dies and radio stations were playing tributes.

"More than a Feeling" and "Open Arms" are classic rock songs, and I find myself singing along whenever they come on the radio. Maybe he's a classic rock guy, and too cool for pop or alternative stuff. I don't mind that he likes them.
I do think it's stupid that his tag is 'Former professional football player'. How about what is he doing now? Bartender? Car wash guy? I'd be curious. After playing professionally, I wonder how he handles the mundane lifestyle.

He's a P.E. teacher. He taught in Australia for a while, but came back to the states in May according to what I've read online. Last night on the feeds he was talking about getting his teaching license straightened out in Minnesota, and maybe for Colorado as well, because an old football buddy is buying a house there and offered him a place to stay.

LOL well being a Professional Canadian Hockey Player is quite different than being a professional finnish football player. Canada is famous for their Hockey players. How many football players do you know that come from Finland?

I don't know that he wanted it. Carol wanted it, Amber wanted it, Daniele said she wanted to prove something by winning it, and I assume Kail wanted it, but otherwise? I personally though Kail's spot was pretty obvious, but shows what I know since it was last found.

I thought Daniele's was the last to be found. Nick told the camera he wanted to win so he could keep the nominations as they were, but since he didn't put any real effort into finding a hiding place, I don't believe he cared one way or the other. I'm pretty sure they were all told to say they wanted the Golden Veto.
I don't think Nick has to come clean about playing pro football in Finland because as far as I can tell, he doesn't talk about playing football. I think it's pretty cool that in the two years since he got out of college, he's lived in Europe and Australia and earned a paycheck while he did it.

Good point. I like Nick as eye candy, and he seems amiable enough. I went to school with a ton of Nicks in Minnesota, and they're fun to fool with, but I don't count any of them as lifelong friends. My only beef (no pun intended) with him is the whole 'I can't stand liars' reaction to Jen, because it implies that he doesn't understand the game he's signed on for.

I meant Kail's was the last found in the competition; Daniele's wasn't found as it was still hidden when the competition ended (which begs the question, did they take it out?).
Daniele's was not found before Kail's, I think we can agree on that :-)

Yeah, I totally think Nick is playing the game by lounging around with Joe. And I think it's great--there are lots of straight guys who would be too uptight about it. I recall the painfully awkward "flirting" that Roddy attempted to do on Marcellas. Marci might have been drooling over him, but he wasn't tricked into thinking Roddy wanted him, or even liked him.

He's playing. Actually, playing to three demographics: (1) the guys. Despite the flirting with Joe, he comes off very much straight which blends well with the the other guys, (2) the girls. He's flirting with them, especially whatsherface, and (3) the gays. I think the hints that he drops about same-sex shenanigans are frying Joe's brain with all the stimuli and innuendo. The possibility of doing Nick might be throwing Joe's game. He's got major balls for adapting this approach because it's very risky, especially with Psycho!Joe. Anyway, I think someone did this in the French Big Brother and (just to be sure I'm not spoiling anyone)
while it was a great ploy, the problem was that the target/prey was a sweet kid that was devastated when the truth came out, which might have led to the jerkoff contestant's ouster. Anyway, I don't think Nick's gay....With the amount of money he could win while using this type of approach, I totally consider him gay-for-pay.
