Cash Cab, which means that I clearly know someone who works on it.

This poor, poor girl. She signed up for this, but having an estranged parent in the house would be a deal breaker for me. I haven't seen my own dad in 12 years and if he walked through the door, I'd be walking out of it. Who knows their history, but I can't think of anything worse.
ETA: His reaction to her was gross. I tuned in late and didn't see him say it was his daughter and for a full five minutes, I was thinking, WHY would this girl date that loser?

She's only 20, but she tried to pass herself off as 21. I presume that it would be illegal for the producers to allow her to drink, so isn't her secret going to be out as soon as the first alcohol is served?
ETA:
She could say that she doesn't touch the stuff since Daddy is the posterboy for hard living.
I'm sure she'll think of something, or just reveal the truth at some point. I'm assuming, though, that she's been specifically warned not to partake under any circumstances.

She can always say she doesn't like the taste.
I don't find her pretty but she was going to grow up pretty fast in order to play this game and now has to contend with dealing with Daddy so for that, I hope she goes far.

Danielle’s dog’s name is Mufasa. Plus: Rilo Kiley. Partial awesome points.
I'm also willing to give her a little bit of leeway because I think she got the most screwed on the enemies twist. Being stuck in the house with estranged family would blooooooow.

I doubt it will be a secret for very long. We didn't see if Dick saw her tell them she was only 20, but she did say her birthday was in 2 months so she could still be on the show then.

I totally see it, now that it's been mentioned! Great eye.
I absolutely feel sorry for her being in that house with that man. But the previews does show her at least trying to have an alliance with him, so who knows? This might work out.

I felt so bad for her when she saw Dick walk in. It's obvious the blame for their bad relationship just has to fall on him, not her. At least, that's what I hope.

She's seems like a nice person, which makes the twist with her father very evil. I suspect this hit her hard, and we will see her at her worse on this show. Poor Daniele.
I also find her pretty hot, as well. That alone wants me to see her hang around, but I hope Evil Dick doesn't end up ruining everything.

She's all skull, like Star Jones or some other people who've had their stomachs stapled with overly dramatic results. (Which is not to say all stomach-staplers, mind you.) I'd like to think there are some synapses firing behind the dead-eyed stare but it'll be hard for me to find out what with being unable to look directly at her. Uch.

But isn't she a bartender? How does she bartend if she's only 20?
I find her smoking hot. I agree about the Gina Lee Nolin comment. Everything about her - the hair, the eyes, the boobs... I swore I wasn't going to watch this season, but one glimpse of Daniele and now I've set my Tivo Season Pass.
I wonder when Daddy Dick said there were some fake set of boobs out there after the HOH question about plastic surgery if he was talking about his daughter.

Posh Spice-- that would be good-- if she got the pixie haircut. She seems to be hiding behind all that too-pale-hair. I'd be interested to see an America's Next Top Model-type makeover where they sheared it all off to see her face.

Daniele would be halfway cute if she wasn't so damn thin!! When she was lying in bed last night talking to Nick her shoulders looked like they could slice thru wood because they were so thin & sharp! She's got a cute face and a nice body aside from the thin part; she'd be a TON better looking if she packed on a couple of pounds.

I felt sorry for her as she was sitting there, waiting for the mystery houseguests to be revealed. She was fearing that it would be her dad, and it was. I was impressed that she didn't feel compelled to air all of her grievances against her father right then and there, unlike some people named Joe.

I expect that would help immensely. If I were feeling charitable, I'd attribute some of the boney look to the fact that she's barely out of her teens and may still have that stretched-out effect that adolesence can bring. (Especially without, you know, basic nutrition.) But this is Big Brother and I'll hold my charity for worthy causes.

I *really* began to feel for Daniele when she mentioned her family is her boyfriend, grandmother, and dog and that she doesn't need a mother or a father to have a family. A lot has happened in her young life to have no (or bad) relationships with both parents. As whack as my own folks can be, I can't imagine life without them.

Yeah, I was saddened to hear this too. So not only is Dick not a dad to her, but her mom isn't in the picture either? I wonder what happened there.
Before she stepped into the shower, we saw her starting to at least begin to strategize with Dick. Hopefully they can work together and that we also get the happy family reunion story that CBS is hoping for.

I doubt they'll ever get a happy reunion story, I think it'll just be awkward. I think it'll probably happen after the show, but Big Brother isn't the place to have a lovefest with your estranged father.

I think she gained an advantage with her Dad being brought in. People will have more sympathy for her and automatically deem her weak, probably underestimating her. I love how, when she found out, she went off and cried. Although she was hurt, that immediately drew Jameka and the other girl to her. I think Daniele will milk this very well to her advantage. She seems smart.

Daniele is one of those women that is clearly naturally very beautiful, but still feels the need to bleach it up, make-up it up, as well as the anorexic diet. There are so many women out there that need all that stuff to truly be beautiful *cough*Jen&Jessica*cough*.
So far, she does seem like a genuinely nice person and I somehow predicted (to myself) she’d align with the caring gay guy.

Obviously, she and her father have some serious issues. But I think big borther or no, if the guy is at least trying, try to work with him. Daniele pretty much ignored him for most of their conversations, although she began to startegize a little bit at the end. You could see in his eyes though that the brush off was hard for him to handle.
I'm sorry, but to me she was the one who comes across as somewhat on the bitchy side.

I have a very rocky relationship with my own mother. I cut off all communicaton nearly 3 years ago and it has added sanity to my day-to-day life like nothing else ever could. If we were in the BB house together, she's get something along the same thing Daniele is giving Dick.
IMHO she's trying to survive a relationship that's hurt her deeply.

It's easy to forget, watching her, how young she is. IMO, paganstar, that gives her a lot more leeway. Then again, not knowing the circumstances between her and her father, she might have every right and leeway in the world to behave that way.

I just don't really believe that you're obligated to make your family relationships work. Sometimes they just don't, and you're protecting your own health and sanity by making the break. Considering that Daniele talked about how a few years ago they started talking, and then stopped again, I'm sure she's been through this cycle several times, where her father decides he wants a relationship, she gives it a shot, and then everything falls to hell. I give her a ton of credit for keeping her sanity in this situation, and I don't think she owes Dick a chance to make things right, but if she gives him that chance, he should be grateful for it. The man left her to be raised by her grandparents and who knows what else he's pulled over the years. I think she has every right to act coldly towards him. Especially when at that point they had probably been in the house for about 2 days.

I don't think she's too skinny.
Agreed. She seems like a normal weight to me, albeit on the thin side. I think her father's concern is kind of fake, and she has every right to keep her guard up. I just hope that she plays the situation correctly. After watching episode 2, it kind of seemed like she might get stuck in a rut because of her situation. It's not wrong, and it's understandable, for her to be so sad and confused; however, if she wants to win, she sort of needs to get a strategy quick.
BB may have really gone overboard on the manipulation factor with this one. It sort of pains me to watch her interact with him. Clearly, there are some heavy issues there, and we'll never know what they are exactly, because she is too wise to spill her most private business on national T.V.

I think there are factors here that the viewers won't ever be aware of, like how much the powers that be feed to the houseguests and things of that nature. I don't think they would put anyone in any danger psychologically (so that goes for both Daniele, and, say, Dustin who seems to be dealing with some hefty issues himself) and Daniele said herself she didn't even remember what the 'feud' with her dad was about-- just that she didn't feel he was a parent, really. I don't think there's been bad blood, I just think he and her mother didn't start this out as parents and there's no way to just step into that.
Moreover, there's no way of knowing whether that was his fault or not-- there exists a possibility that he wasn't given the opportunity. Or maybe he was and blew it. I would guess that won't ever come out.

I do hope we find out exactly what happened, though if it turns into too much pain and anguish for Daniele I can do without the trauma.
Maybe CPS took Daniele and her brother away from the parents, the mother might have mental problems and thus she is totally out of the picture, and Dick just wasn't willing or able to be a solo parent. Maybe the kids gew up with the mother's parents, thus making it kind of awkward for Dick to be around more than occasionally.
But I do wonder why Daniele did not include her brother in her list of family that included her boyfriend, her dog, and her grandmother (I assume the grandfather has passed away). But the brother is friendly with the father and even helped him pack for the show.

Her brother posts at Sucks, and I think it's that her mother abandoned them, and Dick's parents raised them. So I don't think there was anything stopping Dick from being a father to her, other than his own immaturity.

On the feeds recently, she described Jessica as fat (NOT to Jessica's face). Daniele, my dear, your psychological issues are being broadcast nationwide, you might wanna reign that in!
Not really a spoiler (and not important in the scheme of the game, if you are tempted to look!), but I am not sure if the feeds should be spoiler tagged or not . .
