Hello. Asked to choose a favorite movie, I said "No favorite," because I don't want to admit it's
The Mighty Ducks.

She seems sweet and innocent, which probably means she'll become a raging bitch.

Ivette vibes. I don't know why, but I'm feeling the Ivette in her.

Carol: essentially calling another HG a vapid drone within the first five minutes. Judgemental, but it was Jen, so… accurate. I think I might like this girl, or at least like her better than her enemy.

So far, she's my vote for Least Aggresively Offensive. With this show, I'm afraid that's as close I'm going to get to a "favorite."

Hold up. She likes So You Think You Can Dance and she wasn't phased by the blonde chick revealing that she was her enemy in the house. I think I may agree with you, Nich337; thus far she's the Least Aggresively Offensive.

I like her so far - she reminds me a little of Diane from season 5 with the way she talks. But she instantly hated Jen and her rival is Jessica so there's no way I'm not rooting for her.

I think I like Carol as much as I like Jessica. But I think I'll need to hear who's more in the right in their rivalry before I fully choose a side.

Over here, we're pretty much in love with Carol. This is almost certainly wishful thinking on our part, but we like to believe that this 'rivalry' is a total nonstarter. When Carol's 'rival' is introduced to the house, Carol gives this incredulous look like, 'Really? This is supposed to create tension?' She also has an awesome hand gesture that goes along with it. When the houseguests are speculating about who their enemies might be, Carol is clearly remembering back to when she had to fill out the field on her questionnaire about her worst enemy/rival, and not knowing what else to write, remembered this old friend from jr. high with whom she had a falling out.
Both she and her rival look like a lot of fun, and we're hoping they'll be best buddies in the house.

I really like her for some reason. I hope I don't eat my words, but she seems relatively classy and intelligent. It doesn't hurt that her rival is pretty unlikable.

She's pretty much my favorite, at this point. She may have been bitchy in the past (if Jessica is to be believed), but she came off alright tonight. But the show is young. If things don't go her way, maybe we'll see this evil side. I hope not, since I want to like her.

Wasn't Carol the one who said her daddy was a Senator? A State Senator I presume. (Not like the orange haired "Starting Over" inmate who's daddy is a U.S. Senator, right?)
So who's her daddy, some big wig or a backbencher? If he expects a political future she might be severly restricted in what she can do in the house so as to not bring shame on her family.
Even if she does nothing onerous herself the shame by association potential seems great. This is not the sort of risk most politicians would sanction. What's the story?

Her dad is Kansas State Senator Phil Journey, as in Topeka, not D.C. He's from my area (as Carol and Jessica both are), and I barely remember ever hearing about him. He's totally not a big deal like she made him out to be. I think her being a KC Chiefs cheerleader is more exciting than her daddy.

I wonder if she's even going to bring up her father's being a senator all that much - it just seems like the producers needed some soundbite for her introduction footage so they gave her something cheesetastic to say.
I like her so far. She seems normal and doesn't seem like she gets fazed or riled too easily. I did love her facial expression when Jen was introducing herself - it's a total WTF look like she was trying her hardest to bite her tongue and not shout out "are you for real?"

I liked her. I'm interested to see how this "conflict" plays itself out, because compared to the other two, it seems pretty weak. It might even be all in Jessica's head.

It might even be all in Jessica's head.
I think that Carol probably doesn't like her in general. Jessucka probably thinks that Carol used to be a friend, until she saw how Carol really felt about her, and then she started hating her too.

Okay I've watched two nights of showtime's big brother feeds, and if I recall correctly, in those SIX hours, Carol said only one sentence, which was... "I'm cold.".

Do you think Carol can be a strong player if she survives this week? I mean she has said nothing and the only thing people know is Jessica hates her and that her father is a senator. Can she survive past the first few weeks?
Dale
Jul 11, 2007 @ 1:35 am
I really don't think she's going to survive now that she's remained on the block. Might as well say goodbye to her now.
But man, what a lame place to hide her veto symbol.

She can go. Not adding anything to the show. Jessica's hate seems forced. TPTB forcing the issue? Not even adding to the eye candy quotient.

Knowing my luck, she'll probably go, but I still don't want her to leave. Amber annoys the living hell out of me, so I'd rather she go. And I still find Carol hot, and at least she isn't an idiot, like Jen.
Plus, I don't want Jessica to win. If Carol goes, Jessica will brag about it forever, I'm afraid.

Carol's gonna be gone. The houseguests feel that she's (a) a horrible and constant liar, and (b) that she doesn't really want to be there anyway (she mentioned having been registered for fall semester at Iowa, which starts before the end of BB.

I think Eric summed it up best:
"There are 13 sharks and then there's Carol."
Actually, I'm glad to see her go., She wasn't really playing the game and didn't really try to form anything like an alliance that could have saved her. All she did was talk to people and hope they weren't BS her. Too bad everyone was.
Interesting that Jen voted to keep her.

I liked that she was unwilling to trash-talk Jessica at the beginning of her interview with Julie, and that she couldn't even remember what the fight was about. Even after seeing Jessica talk about the silly feud, she kept her comments under control.

Her being gone first was pretty much a foregone conclusion. Amber was playing. Despite her claims, Carol was not.
I hate that she lost to Jessica. I hope one of the remaining houseguests avenges her.

Same here. I picked her as my favorite, only for her to leave this early. Figures.
She really should have fought harder to stay, but I still like her overall. I like the fact that she didn't seem that upset about leaving (it is just a game, afterall), and I also like the fact that she didn't let Jessica get to her. If anything, she seems to find Jessica even more pathetic and immature. I think she'll be okay.

Last night during the Showtime Feed, I don't think she was even in it at all. In fact, I rarely saw her on there the entire week. It was almost as if she didn't want to be there once she knew Jessucka was there and figured Jessucka would convince them to get rid of her. Guess she was right. Too bad because I really liked her. Weirdly, she reminded me of friend from high school who I haven't spoken to in about 5 years.

I thought she was really sweet for not trashing Jessica after hearing what she said. I know it must have been tempting. And I feel really sorry for her having to live with Jessica being around at least another week than her.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Let it be like when Kaysar and Eric was before Kaysar got back in....only to be booted back out. (
Personally, I wish Eric would have went back in to rescue such a bitter game...he is the only one who could have done so given the fact that he started it, but I digress.) Only in this version, Carol goes in and stays in.

They should stage it that there will be a Return of Carol.....the week Jessica is voted out. And Carol could walk in as Jessica is walking out and Jessica will have a fit. And outside the studio, Jen will be protesting that all the houseguests should be wearing her picture.

The return of banished houseguests is probably my favorite device on this show. No single moment has ever pleased me more than when Amy came back and then won HOH. I didn't even like her that much, but it just screwed up the game so much. PLEASE, LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN!
ETA: I love the Carol/Jessica passing by each other scenario.

Carol is actually beating Joe on the CBS website as the least popular houseguest. She is at .2% and Joe is at .1%! So Carol's brief time has actually resulted in something, people like her more than Joe! Granted all they know about her is that she owes Jessica $5.

No one votes for people who aren't in the house anymore.
Obviously, I believe the voting ability is blocked. But it does show something....she was in the house for a week (and presumably only able to voted for for a week) and she still pulls in more votes (granted only a tenth of a percent more) than Joe who was in the house for two weeks. And all we knew of Carol by the point she left was that she was from Kansas, her father was a state senator and that she owed Jessica $5.
Of course, based on what we knew about Carol when she left, that may mean she is more popular than Joe. By that point (and even by the time that he left) all we knew about Joe was that he had gonorrea, that he and Dustin hated each other and that he systematically destroyed Dustin's life and friendships, and took a perverse pride in all of it! So it makes sense that even though he was around two weeks, he is less liked than Carol....according to the office Big Brother Poll on www.cbs.com.
Wonder what Joe thinks of all of this!?!?!

Does anyone know Carol's ethnic background? Her father looks white, but she looks mixed or somewhat black.

I wondered the same thing. I think Carol looks mixed, half black, or some type of dark Latina background. It's the golden complexion, rounded features, and ultra thick dark hair.
