Snarf
So name your wishlist for the next season. Writers, plotlines etc etc.

I would like them to give the Daleks a bit of a rest. They probably won't as building those things was probably quite expensive so they can't afford NOT to use them. If they do use the Daleks again maybe reintoduce Davros?

What I would like to see is the Sontarons again. As a kid they creeped me way out. The Time Warrior (which was the very first time I watched Dr Who and was immediately hooked) and The Sontaron Experiment come to mind.

I'd also like Joss Wheldon to write an episode or two.
Ivriniel
The return of the Brigadier. Given it's the 30th season, they need to do something big, and I think this would be ideal.

We find out what Ten did to piss off Elizabeth I.

Some sort of hint of what exactly happened to the Time Lords when the Doctor stopped the Daleks.

The new companion should be someone who isn't going to fall in love with the Doctor.

I agree with pretty much everything Snarf said. Though the only episodes I have seen with the Sontarians are from the Two Doctors, so I'll just have to take his/her word for it in regards to them. :)
Doctor Quist
Not to be picky, aren't threads relating to UK pace stuff labelled with "S" to get around the fact that in the UK season is not the term used, but series is.
And it's not season 30 really either.

Wouldn't a S4 Spoilers and Speculation thread be the best place for wishlists?
cutecouple
I vote this thread be hijacked and turned into the S4 Spoilers and Speculation thread.
Doctor Quist
Yes, although it needs a pithy little extra title that isn't spoilery for US pace folks. How about "Into Time! And Space! (Again!): S4 Spoilers and Speculation".

Ok.. that's a tad lame, but the best I can do at 0500am
MFD
How about "Anchor's Away: The S4 Speculation, Spoiler, and Wishlist Thread"?
rmiriam12
Or how about "Rusty's Spectacle of Self-Indulgence: S4 Spoilers and Speculation"
Cygnia
Well, we should keep the theme and reference something vague from S3. My pick would be "Here Come the Drums", but that might be too much.

As for my #1 wish: Shirtless, chained up, still young and pretty Ten. That can't be too much to ask for, can it?!
D.C.
I still remember the trauma I experienced as a teen when some of the Duran Duran guys went from sexily unbuttoned shirts to full toplessness. I decided right then that if you're going to have a skinny rockstar body, which is basically what DT has, some things are best left to the imagination.

This is pure fantasy, but I'd kind of like an "adult" version of DW to parallel the "family" version. For instance, it can show what happens in the implied gaps when the Doctor's been travelling between episodes. And I don't mean "adult" as in purely porny, but one where you can see things like a depressed Doctor drunk in some intergallactic bar, or get into the implications of the scary kinkiness of the Master's marriage. (As opposed to the fun kinkiness that is Jack.) The idea you can get into themes that may not be appropriate for kids, or at least would bore them silly.
airylli
I still like the "Jack is WHAT?!" title suggested in the Series 3 thread.
BrandyAlexander
"There go the drums"?

My only real wish for this list is a boy companion. One that is more like Jack and less like Adam. Who won't fall in love with the Doctor.
Cosanostra
My one big wish is a companion who'll challenge the Doctor and won't fall in love with him. But I'm all for sizzling sexual tension that's not acknowledged. Want chippy scouse compainon plz! Or someone who's had some kind of important job/high status that has to go on the run for some reason. Or someone with a secret hidden (evil?) agenda. Evil companion!

As to thread titles...

-May the 4th be with Who (SORRY!): spoilers and speculation
Tinted
I would love a male companion who eventually betrays him with loads of UST thrown in for good measure. Kind of a Jack/Donna/Turlough(Is that right?) hybrid. I know that won't happen, but still, I am way too in love with the 'betrayal' idea.

I don't need to see DT topless (although it would be nice) but I really do need to see some torture and pretty bondage.

I also want to see that they're still continuing the 'Doctor is getting darker' idea and for Saint Ten to be part of the arc, not a resolution or just some Mary-sueage. I have to see that smackdown.
Caffeine Junkie
D.C. Duran and DT?

Are you me?

::Wanders around in a state of confusion for a while.::

As for the title... I request This year the only ship is a honking big boat! S4 Spoilers and Speculation
smokie
In Cassanova he was more than shirtless, he was clothe-less.
It wasn't all that bad.

I wish for no Mary Sewage at all. With anyone.
Tinted
In Cassanova he was more than shirtless, he was clothe-less.

But I've seen his naked body in Caffeine Junkie's photo album and seeing his ribcage wasn't exactly a turn-on. I actually want to see him chained up in that blue suit, which I kind of like better than his brown one. (Prepares for the rotten fruit.)
BristolBoy
A Male companion (or at least a lesbien. I want no SEXUAL TENSION!).

A companion who's not from 21st Cent. (or very near - Adam!).

Martha back :(
Buni
I would love a male companion who eventually betrays him with loads of UST thrown in for good measure.

I go back to what I said in the S3 thread: I want more than one companion at a time, and would not be averse to a break from the UST. And it could be fun to have a companion from Earth but not modern - go get yourself a medieval chap or something...
Cosanostra
As Buni says, two companions would be grand. And someone from another age also...so that journeys to modern day England would in themselves be interesting.

Perhaps someone from Shakespearean times...Maybe Marlowe wasn't murdered...the Doctor snaffled him away...and then a modern person in the mix?
Caffeine Junkie
But I've seen his naked body in Caffeine Junkie's photo album

Holy crap! Busted! Eh, no officer, it was just for my own personal use, honest! Not so inclined towards topless (despite the evidence in my photo album to the contrary... it's art, you know!), but I would like to see a tan. DT looks nice with a bit of a tan and freckles. Oh Shiny Tinkerbell Jesus! I need to get out more!
jase-bot
Hot male companion. Preferably gay yet not in love with the Doctor. Two regular companions including Martha, and not just for two or three episodes. Make sure one is not from 2007-8 or Earth.

Continued willingness to explore and play with old continuity as they did with the glimpses of Gallifrey and the use of the Master, the Macra, etc. this past year. A completely different regenerated Susan Foreman would be fun.

A flashback to the Eighth Doctor. I will continue to dream, thank you.

More alien planets. I understand the reasoning behind the constant linkage to Earth, but if The Infinite Quest lets Ten and Martha traverse planet after planet we should get to see some more.

Several episodes from Paul Cornell and Steven Moffatt (sp?) .

The Celestial Toymaker.

The Mara.

Crossover with Lis Sladen and the kids from The Sarah Jane Adventures in the finale.

End the season with Ten somehow restoring Gallifrey and the Time Lord race, or some aspect of it thereof, probably costing him his life assuming DT might not renew. I think it's time. I am not some old-series continuity nazi or anything that wants everything 'back the way it was,' far from it, and I completely agree they were right to strip away all the baggage to bring the show back, and I am not terribly in love with Susan or Romana or The Master or anything, and I love the Time War backstory, but I think by the end of next year, whatever the overarching story, they will have wrung everything out of that angle dramatically that they probably can, and I think it will be time for a whole new paradigm to really shock and jolt people. What better way than some kind of new, burgeoning Time Lord civilization where you have no idea how they'll turn out?
BrandyAlexander
Actually if we had to have an early 21st century female companion then I wouldnt mind if they brought back Sally Sparrow.
Ivriniel
Martha back :(

Don't worry.
Butterfly202
My wish is that when Martha's back, it's in a permanent (or at least as permanent as it gets with the Doctor) capacity. I want her to take her break, sort herself out, go for some swearing and shagging up at Torchwood and then come back to the TARDIS the Martha she was in the finale, without the Doctor love.

I don't want her to feel second best to the new companion, and I don't want the new companion to be second best to her.

What I'd really like is for William Ash (the only bright spot of '42') to play the new companion... but that's not going to happen.

But it should be a guy, and if not, maybe a Scottish girl? Or a Geordie girl?

I like the idea of it being an alien too - maybe something that would have to have elaborate make up like Chantho. Then for the first part of the series the Doctor and his alien friend could travel the universe so we could see some cool planets, then Martha rings the Doctor and they focus on earth and its various troubles for the second half of the series.
Doctor Quist
I said this on the s3 spoilrs and spec thread but if Martha returns and the new companion is another young female in love with the Doctor, they better not rerrun "School Reunion". I think that would make me cry.
Ivriniel
Whomever the new companion is, please, don't let it be Donna!
Doctor Quist
I want a shape-shifting android, who is baffled by this thing humans/gallifreyans called kissing, and has been implanted with a subconscious desire to kill the Doctor by an EvilEvilSinceTheDawnOfTime, to be the new companion.
Ivriniel
Kamelion Mark 2, then?

I nominate Ben Browder for the new companion. He's not doing anything at the moment and it would allow him to do Science Fiction on three different continents. ;)

Plus he could bring the Farscape and Stargate fans with him to Sci Fi channel's showing of Doctor Who. ;)
jeet
Martha.

Title? "My Heart Will Go On...And So Does The Programme! Season 4"
Doctor Quist
Kamelion Mark 2, then?

Kamelion crossed with Turlough yes. Actually I think I have the shapeshifter woman Candace on the brain (from "Heroes"). Someone like her could be good. Unpredictable and slightly bitter but not totally irredeemable.
CyberIstari
Jack. ;) Since we know Moffat is doing two eps (a two-parter? please?) it seems like an ideal setup. ;)

Ditto on a different sort of companion. Surprise us, RTD. :)

Thread title? You Are Not Alone (Except You Totally Are. Again.) ;)
chic_girl85
You Are Not Alone (Except You Totally Are. Again.)

My vote goes to that one! Kind of spoilerish for season 3 though.

My season 4 wishlist:

-Multiple companions (which it seems like we're getting) and at least one of them not female, spunky, or from the 21st century, damnit!
-More stories based off of books (er, I should probably clarify, good books). The HN/FoB two parter worked really well this season.
-Sarah Jane show crossover? Maybe? I like Elizabeth Sladen and want to see her on the show again. Or at the very least, K-9.
Ivriniel
K-9's sealing off a blackhole though. He won't be appearing in the SJA so I doubt he'll be appearing in DW.
darkestboy
Hot Male companion like Riley from 42

Martha to be in at least 6-8 episodes and Freema in the S4 cast shot with Ten and Newbie

A Halloween themed episode

Jack in a two parter (not the finale)

An update on The Master

Mondos style Cybermen

At least four space episodes on planets rather than spaceships.

Ten in chains.
Hyggerific
I'd like some recaps. *sigh*
Ivriniel
I'd like Series 4 to run on the CBC as close as possible to the UK run.
binxs
1. I'd like to see Captain Jack as a companion for Doctor Who...even if it is just for two or three episodes. Rumor has it that Jack won't be in the episodes that Martha are in for TW S2....perhaps Jack will be off with Doc as a way of explaining his absence in the TW Hub.

2. Count me in as wanting the next companion to be male...and I agree, one simular to Captain Jack in personality and ahem...sexuality. But not someone who is a CJH clone.

3. Please no Daleks....that simulated voice just grates on my nerves....

4. The Master to make a return....either re-generated as a woman or somehow JS comes back to re-create the role.

5. More about Gallifrey and it's people.

6. Some way of explaining that Captain Jack is in fact, not the 'Face of Boe'.

ETA: sorry I didn't realize we had to spoiler stuff that's already been aired.
Ivriniel
Spoiler that bit about Jack and the FOB please.
keller
A companion from anywhere but 21st Century London. I'd love another Turlough type companion, someone who's there with their own agenda and at no point should they be in love/lust/mild like with the Doctor.

Flashback to the Time War lets see what the burning is really all about.
Unusual Suspect
While I'm totally onboard with the hot male companion, especially Riley from 42 (or Ben Browder), I really doubt that we'll get it. So, since Martha never quite made it, though she was close in the finale, I still want the posh ninja lesbian.

For the historical episode, 'cause we're gonna get one, I'd like to see Britain outside of Britain. Go back to the imperial days and go to the colonies, like an episode in Canada, maybe? (Pretty please?)

Actually, imperialism/colonialism might be an interesting recurring plot theme in general, as I wouldn't mind a future trip to see early extra-terrestial human colonies.

One thing I am interested in seeing what RTD cooks up, is his plans for the future. His remarks indicate there will not be another return to New Earth, so I'm interested in seeing whether they start a new recurring future location.
Ginn
My wishes are probably very common ones, but still:

- A male companion
- A companion who doesn't crush on the Doctor
- If Ten regenerates at the end, that he go back to Martha's place to do it, since she's a doctor and she knows him
- Martha dating the hot pediatrician
- Seeing something more of the TARDIS interior. The wardrobe room was lovely.
- An awesome middle-aged lady who doesn't die or go traitor or get screwed over by the Doctor
- The return of Harriet Jones! Maybe not as PM, but as some kind of government liaison with the Doctor, maybe, since I doubt the Brigadier will be back?
- I agree with the "no Daleks" request. They were awful the last time we saw them.
- More aliens! I like aliens.
- For strong female characters (including historical figures) to react to the Doctor in ways other than "kiss him, kill him"
- Leo trying to adjust to his family having lived a whole year without him, and Tish showing the effects of that year by growing less ditzy.
- Proof that the thing with Jack isn't true.
Doctor Quist
Why are we spoiler tagging s3 stuff in a season 4 wishlist thread?
Ivriniel
Because the thread isn't labelled UK pace? Speaking for myself, I like having somewhere to talk about the incoming companion without having to worry about being spoiled for things I haven't seen in Series 3. :)
SofaSoGood
Thread title suggestion - Season 4 Wishlist: "What? ...What?!"

You've got to have Davros in the series at some point, ranting his head off. Is it too much to ask that my nephew be as terrified by him as I was as a kid?

Kylie as The Rani(e)? Yeah alright maybe not. Actually I'd quite like the new companion to turn out to be a bit of a wrong 'un halfway through the season, preferably in possesion of the Master's ring. Or something.

Some sort of multiple Doctors dealy would be great - I'm guessing Paul McGann would be up for it.

Sally Sparrow as my, sorry, the Doctor's new companion.

Original recipe, non wussy Cybermen.

Love the idea of Joss Whedon writing an episode. Seeing as Anthony Head was in School Reunion and apparently James Marsters is guesting in an episode of Torchwood it'd only be fair somehow.

You know what I'd really love though? A remix of the Who theme that keeps the new string arrangement (it's grown on me) but reinstates the skanky Radiophonic Workshop synths of the original. The music alone used to scare us as kids - they're mollycoddling the youth of today with all these Scissor Sister singalongs I tell you.

Oh and Sea Devils in the Christmas special. Sea Devils mauling a pair of Kate and Leo lookalikes on the prow of The Titanic.
"A companion from anywhere but 21st Century London."

But then I'll never get to be a companion - and I've got my cheeky chappie Victorian chimney sweep backstory all mapped out! And by mapped out I mean borrowed from Bart Simpson.
Ivriniel
The Return of Mr. Finch. If you notice at the end of School Reunion, his reaction to the Krilitaine oil was less violent than the others...He had, after all, stayed in human form rather than changing to the batwing form, so maybe the oil was less toxic to him? And he could have teleported out like Blon did, or something.
Jacob
Thread relabeled -- it's kind of unfair to hobble the S3/UK people in a discussion that is virtually impossible to have without reference to S3. Sorry to those who wish to only be spoiled about certain things, but there's no real way around it.

Ivriniel: You can start a S4 Mystery Companion Thread if you really want, although once filming starts on S4 that'll have to go UK-pace too, because UK news outlets will be talking about casting, etc.
MidMissouriGirl
These have all been mentioned, but for Season 4 I would like:

1. A new full time companion who isn't in *luv* with the Doctor. I also would like them to be a boy. And someone I can actually care about on a regular basis. Maybe Sally Sparrow? Sorry - I'm picky.
2. No more spaceship episodes for awhile.
3. I want Jack back as at least a part-time companion. Oh and for him to not be the Face of Boe. *Sob*
4. Yes! For Joss Whedon to write an episode.
5. For Nine (or another regeneration of the Doctor) to be on the Titantic. Preferably Nine though 'cause I miss him.
6. For RTD and the BBC to stop messing with us about Rose. 'Cause now it's just plain mean.
hlisy
After watching the first season of DW w/ William Hartnell, I would love to see a return to 2 companions + the Doctor. I think it would limit the amount of UST(a good thing). I think the chemistry and feel of the show is better(Mickey/Rose/Jack, Martha/Jack). It's also nice to see interaction between 2 people who aren't the Doctor as it usually gives the audience more character insights. Bonus points for a male companion.

The Doctor to learn that he is not God(ie take him down a peg or two).

Martha to come back and NOT be jealous of said companion because she now a fully-qualified doctor and in a relationship w/Doctor BoyToy! It does happen Russell. Men and women can just be friends...

More historical episodes...

Seeing more of the Tardis...what do some of the other rooms look like?

No more Catpeople EVER.

No Daleks or Cyberman either. Been there done that. The Master CAN come back.

An episode dealing with his Granddaughter or her family.

Guest stars: Emma Thompson or Colin Firth...okay maybe that's just my fantasy:)

A guest appearance to end the Rose drama by showing she's working at Alt!Torchwood and lovin' it. Thereby giving the audience and the Doctor closure.
Ivriniel
A guest appearance to end the Rose drama by showing she's working at Alt!Torchwood and lovin' it. Thereby giving the audience and the Doctor closure.

Amen!
krob
1 A new Companion who is not in love with the Doctor (unless it's Rose - though I'm not expecting that to happen)
2 Martha to be over the Doctor by the time she comes back (hot boyfriend is optional)
3 Jack - In at least 2 episodes - preferably the Moffatt penned ones. (he can still be in love with the Doctor if he likes)
4 No Daleks
5 The Brigadier with Yates and Benton in tow. (Maybe in the same eps as Jack - But that might be too much)
6 Find out what The Doctor did to tick off old QEI
7 Romana (never going to happen, but it doesn't hurt to ask. - Maybe just a reference then?)

ETA- and I second to hilsy's "Colin Firth"" (he can also be in love with the Doctor if he likes - or Jack)
