So I was curious what others thought about the character of Bob. At first I thought we were supposed to hate him like we're pretty much supposed to hate all the adults except Jessie Jo. Y'know, because he cheated with Karen, caused Johnny to be angsty, etc. Then for a few episodes he seemed to be the adult who had it the most together and to be genuinely interested in Johnny: encouraging him to go to AA meetings, going golfing with him (well-intentioned, even if it didn't play out very well), etc.

Then last night I got confused. I mean, in a way, it's understandable that he's suspicious of Karen and she seems to be too forgiving of Skip, but it takes two to tango and Bob, in a way, is just like Skip: he was an adulterer too. The punchout thing was a little much if maybe a tad justified. But then in 1-7 he seems to be a cool guy again, forgiving Karen, accepting her, etc. But for a few beats I wondered if there might be something creepy about him. I don't see how he could be involved in the murder, but maybe he was supposed to be set up as a villain in a future arc? Thoughts, anyone? I just don't know what to think of him.

I'm afraid to like Bob. But then again, I already do.

The thing with Skip was understandable to me. I'm glad he sees the parallels with Skip and himself going after married Karen. Plus, he wasn't an asshole about it. He admitted his insecurities, his guilt and he wanted to apologize for the punch.
