I apologize if I missed a thread like this somewhere - I swear I searched to make sure I wasn't duplicating something, but if I am, someone please point me in the right direction.

Here are my first contributions:

Drink whenever Mulder says, "I know this sounds crazy, but I think..." and outlines his theory.

Drink when Mulder and Scully refer to each other constantly by surname even when they are the only two people in the conversation. Congrats! You'll be drunk by the end of any episode in which they both feature!

Drink when Scully silently cringes as Mulder tells his latest bizarre theory to another agent or someone involved in the case.

Chug when Mulder's latest SpecialSecretInfo!Contact dies.

Chug when Mulder dies.

Chug when Scully is kidnapped/otherwise endangered.

Drink when Scully says, "Mulder, it's me" on the phone.

Drink when, after Mulder is somehow injured, Scully asks, "Are you okay, Mulder?"

Drink when the MotW is an ancient, heretofore undiscovered creature brought to the surface by Meddling Scientists, and the creature infects/attacks people. Chug if the area ends up being quarantined, and basically only Mulder & Scully make it out alive.

Drink whenever Scully looks at Mulder like he's insane. Congratulations! Your liver is DONE.

Chug whenever the Plucky String Instruments of Doooooom start playing in the background.

Chug when "The Truth Is Out There" is replaced by something else in the opening titles.

Drink (and swoon, if you like) whenever Mulder wears the black leather jacket.

Drink whenever you see a guest star who was unknown at the time but whose popularity skyrocketed shortly afterward.

Take a drink whenever Mulder checks out another woman in Scully's presence.

Chug if she gives him a look when he checks out another woman.

Chug everytime CSM is referred to as "That cigarette smoking son of a bitch" or some variation thereof.

Drink whenever there is a pretentious voice-over. Just make sure you're not driving after Redux.

Chug every time you see a dead body. Now I don't mean just a body bag or a sheet over the body. I mean the actual corpse.

- Drink whenever Mulder delegates instructions to Scully and she replies with "What are you going to do?", or "Where are you going?" She ALWAYS has to keep tabs on her Mulder!!!

- Drink whenever Scully chooses to follow Mulder's instincts against her better judgment...

- Drink whenever Mulder and Scully whip out the flash lights

- Drink whenever Mulder kicks open a door or brandishes his gun (drooling)

- Drink whenever Scully says she is a federal agent or a medical doctor

- Drink whenever Mulder does something defiant, unorthodox, or against procedure

- Drink whenever Scully lunges for her gun after sensing danger

- Drink whenever you see Scully's cross or when there is a reference to her faith and its conflict with her role as a scientist or her belief in "hard science"

- Drink whenever the evidence is destroyed or covered up and M&S are left with nothing yet again

- Drink whenever there is a cryptic homage to 1013, 1121, or some other meaningful number

- Drink when Mulder spits out a witty one-liner or classic deadpan humor

Drink when a reference is made to either Mulder's height, Scully's shortness, or both.

Drink every time Mulder takes his shirt off. (Note to self watch Duane Barry and War of the Coprophages, though not Sixth Extinction I, hate the Fowl one seeing my Mulder shirtless.)

Drink every time one of the Dynamic Duo is missing, presumed dead.

Drink whenever Mulder is near a package of sunflower seeds.

Chug if he eats some of them.

I really reeeallllly want to play this game. But I feel that playing this alone is sad, even for me.

Drink for every "Mulder (or Scully), it's me."

We played this in college. We had a rule that you had to drink 5 drinks whenever someone said, "If we kill Mulder, we risk turning one man's quest into a crusade." Unfortunately, this was during season 5, so, we were drunk! A lot! They really crack that one out a lot.

Another few:

- Drink whenever there's a mention of Mulder's porn obsession.
- Drink whenever we see Mulder jogging (it happens a lot more often than you'd think)
- Drink whenever Skinner's in a fight bad enough to knock his glasses off (again, more often than you'd think)
- Speaking of glasses, drink whenever we see Mulder or Scully in them
- (season 1 only) Drink during flagrant and embarassing examples of DD or GA's bad acting
- Drink if a Mulder or Scully horrible outfit comes on screen (typically, this'll be Scully (oh, those bright red suits!) due to the non-changing nature of men's fasion, but take a look at Mulder's mountain man boots and you'll get a little drunk, especially during early seasons)
- Drink every time Mulder puts his hand on the small of Scully's back

I don't drink, but reading this thread has made me realize that if I played it I would be horribly drunk no matter what ep I watch!

Drink whenever Scully looks up from a microscope with eyes as big as UFO's.

Drink whenever Scully agrees to something "for the sake of argument".

I have got to try this game out.

Drink whenever someone is shot in the head and for some reason doesn't die (at least immediately).

Drink whenever anyone says "So what's your theory?"

Drink whenever Mulder ducks down lower than he needs to to talk to Scully (happens especially at crime scenes).

Drink when a variation of this conversation happens:

Scully: "Well, I think it might have been caused by [medical jargon]."
Mulder: "[Medical jargon]?"
Scully: "[explains in more detail]."

Drink whenever the MotW is a human-ish creature who has (apparently) evolved to need to feed off other humans in some way to stay alive.

Take a gulp from a sippy cup every time there is a creepy, creepy child.

Drink every time Scully has an encounter with someone from beyond the grave.

Drink when Mulder getting/having gotten inside the mind of a killer has unintended and bad consequences.

Drink for the season's episode(s) of Mulder Over-identifying With The Kidnapped Girl, and its accompanying angst. Half a shot for every reference to Samantha, no matter what episode.

Drink two shots whenever it's reversed:

Mulder: Well, it looks to me like it could be caused by [alien/UFO/conspiracy jargon].
Scully: [alien/UFO/conspiracy jargon]?
Mulder: [explains in more detail]

Followed, of course, by Scully looking quite skeptical.

- Drink whenever Mulder or Scully ends a phone call without saying "Bye".
- Drink when Scully sits on Mulder's desk.
- Drink when Mulder shows Scully a slideshow, and take an extra sip every time Scully rolls her eyes, raises her eyebrows, or purses her lips during said slideshow.
- Drink every time Mulder manages to piss off local law enforcement.
- Drink when Skinner gives Mulder a telling off in his office. Chug if this meeting is witnessed by the CSM sitting in the comfy chair puffing away on a cigarette.

Drink every time you see a "Lariat" rental car.

Drink whenever Mulder starts hallucinating, etc., because of drugs or other mind-altering experiences.

Drink when Scully is confronted by some iteration of Faux Mulder.

ETA: Chug when it takes Scully waaaay too long to figure out it's not really him.

Ok, I want to play:

-- Drink whenever Scully performs and autopsy. Drink twice if something unexpected pops out of the body.

Scully: [questions Mulder's current or future whereabouts]?
Mulder: [gives answer that provides no actual information about his current or future whereabouts].

For example:
Scully: Where are you going?
Mulder: To see a man about the truth.

Have any of you ever actually played an XF drinking game? I know I've got an old list somewhere, but I don't think I ever played. But a friend and I used to do this fairly regularly with The West Wing, and we'd end up shitfaced drunk from just one or two episodes. I think if I spent a night watching XF and drinking each time one of these things happened, I'd be hospitalized for alcohol poisoning. Or dead. "Mulder, it's me" alone could put you on the liver transplant list.

Season 8: Drink every time Scully cries or almost cries.

Season 8: Drink every time Mulder is on screen for more than a second. Hey, even teetotalers can play on this one! [/bitterness]

Drink: Whenever Mulder uses humour as a defence mechanism.

I don't drink either, but this sounds like fun!

-Drink when Mulder pulls a gun on Scully, Scully pulls a gun on Mulder, or they each have a gun pointed at the other.
-Chug when Scully refers to herself as a "doctor" and not a "medical doctor."

You think your liver was in trouble before?
-Drink every time Mulder or Scully is sarcastic
-Drink every time Mulder talks Scully into doing something she doesn't want to do. (Actually, you might want to sip to avoid getting alcohol poisoning.)
-Drink every time Mulder tells Scully a spooky story. (He is Spooky Mulder, after all!)

...You may want to call the hospital beforehand so they have a room ready.
