Nikki and Cliff have sex! Liza listens to the whole thing from Cliff's closet! Liza may be insane! Cliff threatens Liza in a very very awesome scene.
Most importantly, Greta's dad is the incredibly hot Kyle Secor!!! Ah, Tim Bayliss. He always will be my favorite lanky man.
Something else happened with Johnny and stepdad . . . zzzzz. Basically my rule for watching this show is to mute the scenes with Johnny, Johnny's family, Johnny and Greta . . .
Did anyone else watch?

Oh, I watched. For Cliff. For Nikki. For Cliff and Nikki. And for Kyle Secor. He was an unexpected fun surprise. He and Sharon Lawrence are fun characters to watch in this.
Cliff wanting to cuddle with Nikki after sex? Hilarious.
Nikki giving Cliff a flower? Too cute.
Cliff going psycho bad boy on Liza? Niiice.
Honestly I think the show has gotten a wee bit better. Enough to make me wish they had a few more episodes since nothing better is on.

I really tried to stay focus during this episode; however, I immediately zoned out when Greta struggled to (mis)pronounce "big" words. You know your acting is bad when it sounds like you're reading --- like a 10 yr old.

I love Kyle Secor. Love him. But, are we really supposed to buy that a 16 or 17 year-old girl lives in that huge house alone? I mean, did I blink and miss something?
Cliff is still bringing the hotness. And while Tessa Thompson still bugs, I will put up with her for more of him on my screen.
So, do we think they killed Eddie?

Sharon Lawrence rocks. She is so awesome, like Blanche Devereaux from Golden Girls. More of her, please.
Strong episode. Both episodes were strong, IMO. I'm soooo gonna miss this stupid show.

TobinAlbers:Oh, I watched. For Cliff. For Nikki. For Cliff and Nikki.
Me too! Love those two. It's kind of sad they're doomed. I totally loved Cliff's face when he realized Nikki was giving him a flower. Awwwwwwwwww. BTW, good think Nikki didn't want to cuddle because he would've had to come up with a crappy excuse to go run to Eddie's mom arms. Ew.
Greta looks different on every episode. I don't know if its her hair or the make up but sometimes it feels like there are 3 different actresses playing Greta. She's very beautiful but not anything I haven't seen. Nikki might not the most gorgeous girl but she's memorable and she does stand out with her smile alone.
The women/mothers on this show are hotter than the girls. Same with the dads/men.
I hated how Johnny treated his stepdad during golf (!!!) though I'm still not sure if he can be trusted entirely. Still, I'm glad he went for the "Mulligan," which BTW was such an obvious closure piece for the stepdad/Johnny's relationship.

So Jake Kane covers up another murder. Of course he's probably wrong again just like when he thought that Duncan had killed Lilly. So who do we think really killed Eddie? Cliff? Or Eddie's mom? Or maybe it was really suicide but for a different reason. Maybe Eddie found out about Cliff and his mother and that's why he killed himself.

Hehe Jake Kane, protective daddy, crappy daddy, wrong daddy. I see the theme re-emerging. I love Kyle Secor but he doesn't look good anymore. I find that very sad.
Cliff's scene with Liza was the best I'd seen so far on this show, not that that's saying too too much, but I give MC credit cause he has stolen this show from Johnny and Greta, whom I could not care less about. CLiff and Nikki are an interesting and very self destructive pair, I'm interested to see how it all will end.

I loved it when Nikki got out of bed and told Cliff that she needed to go home. She got herself a 'piece' and told him to get going. I don't think he's ever dealt with a girl like that before.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Michael Cassidy is the only thing that's keeping my interest in the show. He was
absolutely and viciously hot when he was threatening Liza.

What keeps me coming back to this show? Cliff. After watching Michael Cassidy as such a non-entity on "The OC" I never would have thought he could pull of such an amusing, creepy nut of a guy. I love Cliff. I love Cliff in every scene he's in with any character they put him up against. He is officially the most interesting person on this show.
Add to that the surprise of Kyle Secor showing up and these two are my favourite characters. Kyle Secor will always be Tim Bayliss for me and for that he will always get a pass from me.

I understand that the makers of this show didn't know they wouldn't be getting any more than these 8 episodes at the time, but I still kind of hate the fact that in eps 4/5 we're still getting introduced to new characters.
Is it bad continuity or a clue that Johnny saw "08 NOVA" in a mirror, which means the back of Liza's jumpsuit actually reads "AVON 80." Which means... what?
Cliff wanting to cuddle was awesome. And I did not see the thing with him and Eddie's mom coming.
Sadly, I don't think Spatz is long for this world.

I couldn't agree more! Nikki and Greta are cute enough, but the older women get me going better than a shot of espresso and a punch to the face. Then again, I've always had a thing for older women. Right now, I'm really into Paula Deen!
I will admit to feeling a few curious twinges of excitement during Cliff's various escapades, but that will have to be kept between this board and me!
They really did amp up the sex in last night's episodes, particularly this one. While I hardly advocate promiscuity, this sort of tawdry action could have done the first few episodes a real favor. If you're going for soapy and sleazy, you might as well go all the way!

I loved the "hit and quit it scene." That was the perfect reaction for Nikki to have to knock Cliff off of equilibrium. It was great to see how honestly shocked Cliff was that Nikki could just throw clothes at him and act so blase. Too bad he is doing Eddie's Mom and is going to break Nikki's heart. I really hope he has some reason for being with Eddie's mom other than just being a total horndog.
The editing in this episode was fantastic. We go from Cliff and Nikki's wild ass sex scene (with a dog barking and a girl watching in the closet), to boring ass Greta and Johnny talking about golf. It's like everyone involved with the show knows that Cliff is where the money is. Even the editors are highlighting how lame Greta and Johnny are. By the way, did I see Nikki getting on all fours at the very end of the sex scene?
I also loved Greta's absurd smack talking to her father. "When have you ever helped me?" "Um, that time your friend killed himself (or did he) and you asked for my help." "Oh." How the hell do you forget something like that? It didn't even happen that long ago. She moans about Eddie all over the sets and can't even remember coming home the night he died and asking her dad to cover up her part in all of it? Idiot.

It's the Peyton Sawyer of the West! Seriously though, that was completely ridiculous. If this were true, why wouldn't Greta be having all kinds of ragers instead of sneaking into a shack at a yacht club to party? Equally ridiculous was her yelling at her father to get out of HER house. I mean, who died & made her Gary Coleman?

I agree with everyone else -- Cliff totally makes this show. I'm loving how he and Nikki are both so messed up, yet so compatible. And when he was like, "No post-coital spooning?" I almost died. Michael Cassidy is doing such a great job.
I like Bob a lot, and I'm glad they resolved the Johnny/Bob conflict in this ep, because it was starting to get old. Johnny was just coming off like a spoiled brat. It'll be interesting to see if these two get more scenes together -- maybe Johnny'll confide in Bob in a later episode or something.
I find Greta to be the least compelling character. The actress is beautiful, but she just doesn't capture my attention like the others. For a character with so many supposed inner demons, she doesn't really make me want to watch more.
What'd you guys think of Skip arriving? I'm wondering if anything will come of his subplot with Tessa.
As for Liza, if I were her I'd be completely creeped out. I wouldn't want Cliff on my bad side!

They had to know this show didn't stand a chance of getting renewed when they were writing and shooting because they're not pulling any punches. Just tons of very cool twists that are incredibly over-the-top, but also awesome.
I didn't get to watch this one until today, and I'd heard the end was a "jaw-dropper" and then I read something about Halloween costumes with blood, so I just put that together, but I really wasn't prepared for the final scene, though it actually makes sense given the difference between how Greta reacted to Eddie's mom and Cliff reacted to her in the previous episode.
It's actually starting to remind me of Reunion a bit. Not quite as wild, I suppose, but it's almost there. And I think it's awesome.

He doesn't look 25 any more, but he is still
very hot! I like the longer hair (compared to the way he wore it as Jake Kane and the First Gentleman) with the touch of grey at the temples. The green shirts he wore were also very flattering.
I just felt sorry for him having to do so many scenes with that pathetically bad actress who portrays his daughter.

That's exactly what I thought. Like girl, hello! Possible murder charges!
Speaking of parents... Johnny hates the new step dad and resents his mom. Nikki doesn't even talk to her parents. Greta's mom is dead and she hates her dad who is never around. But Cliff is a Mommy's boy. Cliff rocks all.

Hee. I thought my imagination was playing tricks on me.
Aside from Johnny being a total dick during the game of golf, I really liked this episode. It was well paced and interesting. I loved Jake Kane and thought most of his lines were hilarious. Only three more eps, too bad.
Still wondering what Liza and her chem lab have to do with anything. Seems like a lot of focus for just a character hobby.

Cliff rocks my world. Johnny? Not so much. Nikki? Most definitely. Greta? Gross.
And yeah, Greta's self-righteous "what have you ever done for me??" was pretty bratty logic. So about this nice house you're standing in...
I actually started to like Johnny's mom a lot more this episode...she seemed a lot more personable than she has before, and I loved the awkward conversation die-down pause in the middle of her and Johnny's conversation in his room. I also warmed up to Bob; Tess needs serious help, though, and I feel horrible for Cliff when she's around.
And hey, maybe Spatz can be friends with the Cliff-Kicked Pug! Here's hoping...

It's the Peyton Sawyer of the West!
Best observation EVER. Maybe Greta and Peyton will meet when Peyton heads west for her summer internship!! (here's hoping)
Sadly, I don't think Spatz is long for this world.
I thought the same thing. I was cringing during every scene with him in it thinking he was going to die. Specifically that Cliff would kill him. ack!
I thought this episode rocked. I even thought the golf scenes were kind of hilarious.
I am still really liking the character of Bob. He seems to be the most decent grown-up character with the except of Jessie Jo, which is an interesting dynamic. I like that he's being supportive to Johnny and I hope he has a continued role to play.
Nikki/Cliff sex: hot. Damn you Liza for not watching more intently.
Who HASN'T Cliff had sex with in this show?
I really thought I was going to like Liza initially in this show but I'm finding her dull. I think the science thing is interesting but her development re: Eddie and the mystery has me thinking that she is a creepy stalker... that's not what I'm supposed to think right? I mean, she talked to him every night and took apparently lovey pictures with him and neither Greta nor Cliff has a clue? Also, he documented EVERYTHING? Tapes emerging anyone? And how does she know his IM password? I'm calling shenanigans on Liza.

Michael Cassidy is on fire! Seriously, not only is the guy smokin hot, he's also very talented. He totally is a scene stealer! He so needs to have his own hit show or join as a main cast member of another hit show, I will watch whatever he is in, which until I saw his performance as Cliff, I would not have said before since I wasn't bowled over by his Zack character in the O.C.
He has an amazing voice and its all in the little details with him, very well done.
Nikki and Tessie are my favourite female characters, I love Tessa Thompson's snark, her chemistry with MC is incredible, that make-out scene when they took boytoy's car was wickedly hot, hundred times better than johnny and Grating---erm sorry...
Greta. And can anyone really blame her for sleeping with Cliff? Who doesn't want to sleep with Cliff? Show of hands? I thought so.
Exactly! The man doesn't even need to take his shirt off to make the panties melt. Super hott.
*small voice* but I do like Taylor Handley...well mostly when he's interacting with Michael Cassidy, those two have serious HoYay potential. :D

I think Eddie's Mom was the one who offed him, possibly in selfdefense. She's the only character at the moment that can really be spared and Greta/Cliff are too obvious.

My thought exactly! It's every teenager's fantasy! You think they would have mentioned it a little sooner. Who cooks, cleans, pays the bills, cuts the grass, signs her report card?

His voice is really quite distinctive, isn't it? (I never watched the OC, so I'm new to the M.C.).
I thought in the first episode Cliff "agreed" to stay away from Greta, but it seems they've been having tete-a-tetes every episode. At first I found him annoying, but I've fallen in with many fellow posters by finding Johnny increasingly dull and Cliff increasingly fascinating. Ditto Greta--at first she was a sassy handful, now she's a whiny runt. (What? I said
runt.)

I assume the cleaning, cooking, shopping et al is all taken care of for Greta. I guess that's the point of her father having a ridiculous amount of money. So I can buy that.
But when she was ranting at him, and telling him she didn't need him and to get out, all I could think was 'Hey Greta, if he DOES leave you alone, who is going to pay the bills?'
She really didn't think that through.

I'm no lawyer, but I've watched enough TV to assume that unless she's legally emancipated, her father would have a legal obligation to support a minor child. If she is "independently wealthy," her treatment of her father makes sense, but if she "hates" him so much, why wouldn't she cut all ties, get legally emancipated, and get her own place? I'm wondering if her dad could get in hot water if it was discovered he let her live alone (although P. Sawyer on the east coast never seemed to have any trouble). I found her scenes with daddy did not explain things at all, they were just "drama." Forgive the ramble...

I love Cliff too. He is definitely my favorite character on the show. I love how he can be tender and crazy. I also like Greta, although I haven't been interested in her story lines(but I think there's potential).
But... I am really disturbed by Liza. Anyone else? She just seems too obsessive to me and it creeps me out that she knew the minute Cliff & Greta left the house and wears Eddie's jacket, has "secret" friendships, etc. Just seems very unstable and psychotic. Don't know what it is...
