Even though I have been totally unhelpful with the puzzles thus far, I really enjoy watching you guys figure them out, so per
Couch Baron's suggestion:
The diversions on that website are starting to dominate this thread, and the puzzles are creative diversions anyway, so if anyone wants to start a thread in that section, feel free. Let's move on in this thread, please.
I am starting a new thread.
Looks like this is where
gracefully left off:
http://www.helpmeveronica.com/clickme/haughtymelodic.htmlIn bottom righthand the corner there is "duowndzkhbnocq" and the source code says:
"keep your wits about you and you will be fine
before I march forward, I put my soldier in line "

The cleaver people over at
hearst_helpersfound out that:
3 3 0 2 0 0 6 3 3 0 2 0 0 6 = 3/30/2006 twice
d u o w n d z k h b n o c q
if you move the letters the number back you get:

If you go to hearst_helpers on LJ, we made it to "the end".
And we just found more trails. We'll keep digging. This is awesome!

That's because we started a new thread:
hearst_helpersOn "String it Together", there is a list of links on the page (you can find them in the source code). They lead to comments which have bolded letters:

When I click on the link it tells me to enter password which is Mac's real name. I have done all the spellings of Cindy (Cyndi, Cindi, Cindie, etc.) That I can think of and I am pretty sure it is spelled Cindy anyway. what's the way that the password wants it?

According to
this comment on hearst_helpers, it wants it all lowercase. So "cindy" it is.

Just a quick note, ladies and gents - all the "help me, veronica" picture puzzles lead to this message -
http://www.helpmeveronica.com/clickme/red/redherring.htmlI have no words for how frustrated this makes me.
On the other hand, the decoded binary message in Case Notes reveals this website -
http://www.sacredtome.com/Let us pray it is far more helpful than the last one. *seethes*

You know that part where'the voice' says gameover? It makes me want to say, no. Game ON!
Vids quite interesting. Creepy though

I think I made a mistake watching the 3rd video first. The voice and the eyes opening, and GAH!
Think this will be important in the season, or like the one for Kyle XY just be more of a time killer than anything else?

I just love the final case notes, especially the last line:
I don't have time for notes. With the information the Codemaster has given me, I have a pretty good idea of what's going on and what I'm up against.
And the person or persons responsible deserve a special kind of justice. In fact, I might need some tips from my old enemy/ally, Clarence Wiedman.
Yes, I do believe it's time to go to CW.

I didn't see those yet. I love that last line as well. CW is definitely the way to go :)

Having been mostly away from VM fandom all summer, I am just now learning about this, and kicking myself that I wasn't able to get in on a delicious scavenger-hunt Internet mystery. Do you guys know if this was official or fan-generated? Either way, it looks brilliant!

The diligent puzzle solvers over at
Hearst Helpers have solved all the puzzles now. The final puzzle leads to a cache of videos, including one from Rob Thomas to say thanks for taking part.
