So, thankfully, it looks like we'll be able to enjoy Original Recipe VM for at least another season. However, it's never too early to start daydreaming about future spin-offs that this show might spawn. With so many compelling characters and such a talented cast of actors, the possibilities are endless. Here are a couple of mine:
1) In the vein of Dead Like Me and other shows in which people who are deceased can still think, feel, behave and check on their loved ones below, I'd love to see a spin-off featuring the many dearly (and even not-so-dearly) departed VM characters. Wonder how Lilly will react to seeing Harron up there in heaven?! How will Beaver be affected by watching the consequences of his actions play out in the world below? How does Meg feel about the way Duncan's raising their child? Can any of them still affect the way events unfold in the lives of the people they knew on earth?
2) I would also fall immediately in love with any spin-off to feature my very favorite minor character, Troy. I'd watch the prequel in which he first encounters the ghastly Shonna (sp?) as he gets passed from one boarding school to another. I'd be even happier with a spin-off that featured his struggles to stay 'reformed' and leave his devious 'bad boy' past behind.
I'm looking forward to reading everyone else's ideas!

I love the "Dead ones" idea.
I'd enjoy a prequel like "The Adventures of Deputy Lamb"
I'd love to see how his relationship with Keith was when Keith was Sheriff and Lamb was a deputy. And I'd like to see his background and stuff. That will be nice, seeing why Lamb is who he is now.

Wiedman and Veronica pairing up, please. The crazy hijinks those two would get into... *sigh.*
Also, I believe some Weevil and Logan time is in order.

I would give anything for a Cliff spin-off. C'mon, that guy's awesome. And add a little Lamb or Keith in the mix, that's an award-winner right there.

Lamb should absolutely get a spin-off where he gives up law enforcement (since he wasn't very good at it anyway), buys an 18-wheeler and a chimp, and drives around the country having wacky adventures.
God, I miss BJ and the Bear...

Cliff and Loretta Cancun, man. I would watch that like no other.
Also, when I saw the title I immediately thought of those dead ones, of course. That would be pure entertainment.
If Duncan had stayed in Cuba and never had come back for S2 to ruin his character, I'd say his runaway adventures. But I hate him now.

A look into the life of geeky college student Cindy "Mac" Mackenzie. One day she's going to rule the entire known universe but for now she just gets by blackmailing assholes, looking for love (and trying to avoid any potentially crazy boyfriends), and trying to avoid her old high school principal Clemmons who is still shamelessly trying to hook her up with his son.

My ideal spin-off used to be a half-hour sitcom in which Aaron and Logan for forced to share a prison cell. It would have been a PG-13 version of OZ, but with a dysfunctional family and a laugh track! But now that Aaron's dead, I'll settle for My Father, the Car. Aaron's soul is trapped inside the Xterra, doomed to remain trapped forever unless Logan helps his father make amends. Logan agrees, because deep down, he really does care about...his car, and doesn't think it deserves to be cursed for eternity. The same concept can be used for Dick and Beaver--My Brother, the Surfboard.
Clearance Weidman Kicks Bad Guy Butt--A reality show in which, well, you know. CW tracks down some despicable bastard, usually a politician, but sometimes a dead beat dad or that jerk who cut you off yesterday morning and forced you to slam on your brakes--that's not good for your car, asswipe! It takes Clearance, oh, 10-15 minutes to find a bastard. The rest of the hour is a thorough beat down. Best show on television.

Hee---I love this idea! Now I have yet another reason to regret that Haaron was killed in the S2 finale, as I found his sociopathy endlessly amusing and his dynamic with Logan was amazingly chilling and fascinating.
Also, I believe some Weevil and Logan time is in order.
Yeah, their detention remains among my very favorite scenes of the entire series. Hey, maybe Weevil could share that cell with Logan now that Haaron has gone...er, wherever a guy like Haaron goes after death?!
I would absolutely LOVE a Corny and Dick spin-off. Hilarity would ensue.
I love the idea of these two characters together, but can't imagine what they'd actually do all day, other than smoke pot and play video games and...smoke more pot?! Oh, well, I've seen worse TV shows than that!
Maybe there could also be a Very Special Cross-over Spin-off in which characters from the Buffyverse help with Veronica's MotWs while she and her 'Scoobies' (Mac, Wallace, etc.) learn the art of vampire slaying. There's already a lot of crossover between the two casts and the shows are frequently compared (and also both frequently in my DVD player), so why not?!

There's a scandal involved and Lamb blames it on Deputy Sacks who is in turn let go.
He teams up with Leo and open their own detective/paranormal investigations agency. The show is called
Neptune Heights.

Logan totally needs to move in with Weevil and take care of all those kids after Weevil's grandma kicks the bucket. Full House redux. Lots of Ofelia too!
I would love to see an action show revolving around Noris Clayton. Maybe he can travel the country going to weapons shows and solving mysteries.

I like the "Dead Ones" idea and the Cliff and Loretta Cancun one too.
I also like the one with Weevil taking care of all the children. How cute would a daddy Weevil be? It could be called Weevil's House (Run's House) or Super Weevil (Super Nanny).
Mandy could have her own Dog Whisperer-type show. She's weird enough.
Better yet, a one-hour special with all the hot guys in VM playing poker like the poker game in AEFC.
Yeah, I should shut up now.

Dick and Gia should host a talk show.
Babsonite gave me an idea.
"Welcome to the six o'clock news in Neptune, California."Complete with 09er cast, Madison and Dick as co-anchors, Luke covering sports, Casey doing human interest stories (water-skiing parrot, anyone?) and Trina as the slutty weathergirl. And for the
piece de resistance? Gia delivering the DOW and her very own special Bloomberg report.
This is what happens when one mixes the VM boards with a 3AM viewing of
Anchorman. Throw in a dash of extreme exhaustion and you're guaranteed craptastic-ness.

Haha, he can go there just so the show would work. Sounds like a good'n.

Space Elevator
Takes place entirely in the Neptune Grand Elevator. For an hour each week we watch various combinations of characters ride the elevator together. Experience the shock as the doors open and we get to see who's next! Imagine it: Veronica is in the elevator. Doors open, and Logan steps in. Cue the lingering looks and uncomfortable silence. Two minutes later the doors open, and there's... Piz! Veronica exits, Piz enters, Logan spends two minutes making snide comments about Piz's lack of sexual prowess. The elevator reaches its destination, doors open, and standing there is none other than... Keith! Keith takes Logan's place, and describes in great detail what will happen to anyone who hurts his little girl. Then Piz vacates his spot in favour of Cliff, witty banter ensues. Keith exits, Loretta Cancun joins cliff for a hot makeout session (you just know those two have gotten it on at some point). And so it goes. Other likely scenes: Logan confronts dead Lilly, Wallace gets back at Weevil for that business with the flagpole, Veronica and Parker have a catfight (because there's nothing Gossip Girl loves more than a catfight, and Gossip Girl sounds surprisingly like Veronica Mars). It's cheap to produce, because there's only one set. They can add an interactive element by having viewers vote for the character they think should appear next (standard text-messaging rates apply). Narrated by Jeff Ratner.

on a less silly note, I could totally see a show with Leo as an aspiring PI, or as an interesting freelance bodyguard. In fact... to the First Draft! But alas, I can't think of any other characters to spin with him... Maybe Gia...

mokesh, that is awesome! I love that elevator and I would totally watch that! I think it would probably need to be 1/2 hour instead of 1 hour, though. Except, of course, for the Very Special Episode(s) when various combinations of characters get trapped in there. Yay! I love it!
you just know those two have gotten it on at some point

Imagine a show kind of like "TV Nation", only with Logan delivering on-camera asskickings to the world's biggest douchebags.
Ann Coulter:... and that's how the liberals betrayed America.
Logan: (smirks, cracks knuckles)
And then they could do a whole zany montage of him forcefeeding Tucker Carlson his bowtie.
Say it with me. Best. Spinoff. Ever.

absolutely love the idea of the Dick-Gia talk show and the Dead Ones show. And let me say that I would definitely watch the Space Elevator one.
Am totally behind the idea of a spin-off featuring Cliff.
How about something where we focus on VP Clemmons? Like, following him around all day dealing with teenagers?

Weevil/Keith odd-couple sitcom. Everytime they have their "Eli." "Sherriff." interaction, it reminds me how much they must have drove each other nuts before.
I love this idea. Their interactions almost as much as Logan-Lamb, who...well, okay, given that one's dead while the other is alive, a spin-off idea might be tricky, unless there's some awesomely warped, uber-cynical take-off on a show like The Ghost Whisperer in the works!
As others have said, it seems almost a shame not to have an after life spin-off focusing on the many fascinating characters who have died and, er, where they might find themselves at the moment! I'm particularly interested in seeing Beaver---er, Cassidy again. (I really need to start reading fanfic for a Cassidy fix)
Am totally behind the idea of a spin-off featuring Cliff.
I could seriously watch him do almost anything. I'd love to see his proudly low brow style in a so-called elite and prestigious law firm. I'd love to see him pair up with Logan to collaborate on some just-this-side-of-legal enterpirse. I could see him with almost any character, as IMO Cliff scenes are fantastic irrespetcive of who he's in the scene with.

Or as a spin off to this spin off:
Locked In A Room(or something like this)
Where for one whole hour (maybe half an hour) two people from the show are trapped in a room, that's locked and they can't come out until the end of the episode or they've worked out their differences. Every week people vote on whether the two people should stay still locked up or come out. If they both stay in the room then the show continues on. To make sure the room doesn't get boring, every so often the producers can add a person to the two people in the room, and then those three are the ones voted on, the two with the most votes stay and the one with the least amounts of votes leaves. And when some one is voted off they do a series of three episodes with three different people that are then voted on to be with that person. Also after three weeks one of the people are automaticlly replaced as so the show doesn't get overly boring.

Not sure if anyone suggested this, but I always thought a spin-off surrounding Vinnie would be cool. Vinnie as a P.I...after he was dethrowned as Sheriff for something outrageous, and his side of the P.I. game. His clientel and methods would be vastly different than Mars' and I think it would be funny to explore that.

I'm all for the Dead Ones. I've got a freaky fascination with dead people (hence a love for CSI and Cold Case - and STOP throwing those tomatoes at me!). I'd quite like to see what Lilly would say to some of the other Dead ex-VM folk. I had an idea for a short story/fic in which Lilly was stuck in an in-between place with some other random dead folk, but then the crazy corpses ran away with the storyline and it just went a bit pear-shaped...
Besides, I preferred the S2 secondary characters to S3's slightly limper offerings, so i'd love for Lilly and Beaver and Meg (ok, and maybe Haaron too) to be revived.
I'd quite like to see a version of Three's Company, starring Jake and Celeste Kane...and Clarence Weideman?
