Nick Carter, Aaron Carter and their three sisters are getting their own reality show on E! Entertainment Television.

Here's a description from a Hollywood Reporter article:

"The Carters," an eight-part half-hour series that follows Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, his younger brother, pop singer Aaron, and their three sisters as they live together, work and plan their futures. For the past decade, the siblings have been living disparate lives, and Nick Carter now wants to bring them back together. Kenneth Crear and Johnny Wright of Wright Crear Management, Rob Lee and J.T. Taylor will executive produce the series, which premieres in the fall.

"It's a touching dramatic story, but there's real conflict because it's a family of five with a lot of things to work out," E! president/CEO Ted Harbert said.

I wonder if Nick will be arrested again while filming the show. Or if either of Nick's feuding parents will be on the show. The mother sounds like the stage mom from hell.

AWESOME. This will be like the greatest car crash ever. Aaron is such a little tool, as anyone who has seen his MTV Cribs episode can attest. Every time he appears onscreen I find him tooth-gnashingly horrible. I don't know much about the sisters except that Angel has been arrested for shoplifting and BJ beat up some girls in a club or something. The only thing I don't like is that I kind of like Nick, in a stupid embarrassing way, and I'm disappointed that he'd agree to do something so dumb.

From sister Leslie:
May 4th 2006 Well I have been back in California for a little over a month now and so far its been great. Im sure that rumors have been going around about this reality show thing but all I can say about that is its going to be fun. My family and I have been meeting up with the network and producers and things are coming along perfectly. We start the official filming June 12th. Thats when we all have to move into one house together and honestly I dont know whats gonna happen. Since my parents divorced I have been by myself and now that we are all back together it feels great, lets just hope that we dont get into to many fights. Now as for me the network doing this show( E Channel) are going to be setting up shows for me to do and are going to follow me along with my singing career, believe me that hasnt been put on hold. So anyway I hope you all can get a chance to check it out when it airs. Keep ya posted....Leslie Carter

The show begins airing on October 26th. I can't wait.

Actually, the title is called 'House of Carters' according to IMDB

House of Carters

The trailer park done moved on up to the east side!

J.T. Taylor. Is this the kid (Adult) from Home Improvement?
DesiLu
I think his name was Jonathon Taylor Thomas.

Which sister was the one who got arrested three times?

I've seen a couple promos for this on E! and I have to say, I'm a little excited. This just looks so ridiculously stupid. I think it will be this year's Filthy Rich Cattle Drive. The title certainly is dumb enough. I literally laugh for like a minute every time I see the House of Carters graphic.

I'm glad you're not the only one. It looks pretentious and liek a desperate way to add klass to the show. I won't be watching this since 1) I have no clue who they are and 2) I don't care.

I will be watching this because - 1.) Unfortunately, I do know who they are and 2.) This looks like this season's best show to mock.

I've only seen one promo for the show, but it was enough to get me excited. In it, Nick grabs Aaron's face, while Aaron tries to fight Nick off. I don't advocate domestic violence, but when it's directed at Aaron Carter, I'm all for it. The premiere for this show cannot come fast enough.
MethodActor05
The sickening thing is that I know there are some slash pervs who'd probably get off on them getting it on. Why the pedos love Aaron I'll never figure out.

And it looks like Aaron has been engaged to a playboy bunny! Methinks lady doth protest too much.
Corbinxxa84
I like how the ads are making it out to be some sort of soft-focus, Starting Over-style family docudrama. Like we're supposed to not think about the fact that it's exploiting a family that's seriously fucked up. If they're willing to do it with a straight face, I'll feel no shame in watching and laughing.
rocketito
I will watch for the exciting and moving storyline in which Leslie finally learns to use the apostrophe.
mom2tee
I kid you not, I thought from the title of this thread that somebody like PBS was running a series on the Carter family ... as in June Carter Cash.

I am now laughing that instead it is about Aaaaaron Candy Carter.
Sarahelca
Oh, I can't freaking wait. When I first saw the promo, I didn't realize who they were and thought I was watching a promo for the Dr. Phil house. Close enough.
SunBun
Oh cool!
I hope this show features Nick Carter beating up some more of his girlfriends---any man who chokes a bitch like Paris Hilton ain't so bad in my book!

Which sister was the one who got arrested three times?

I'm pretty sure that both BJ and Angel have had trouble with the law. Hell, their mother has even been arrested but I think Angel is in first place as far as arrests are concerned.

Hi-larious! I haven't seen any promos yet, but these sentences alone have me eagerly anticipating the premiere. Thanks, Stinger97!

Spoke too soon...

I will watch for hair-styling tips.

I just watched the first episode on google and it's such a trainwreck. It scares me that Nick seemed like the sane one of the bunch.
RoRo
I watched it, too at eonline and wow...it's not what I was expecting. Well, no, I was expcting the trainwreck part, but more in the vain of the Osbournes. This is a sad trainwreck. Their parents did a good number on them.
Corbinxxa84
That was a trainwreck and a half.

I did enjoy Nick being vindicated at the end for knowing what a trashbag his mom is. His siblings piling on top of him because he's the only one with money is such a white trash move that I laughed in spite of how awful it was.
Stinger97
Can't say I'm surprised to hear that Aaron broke off the engagement, though I also can't blame him for being caught up in the heat of the moment. When I think about what would be going through my mind if I was dating a Playmate, I, uh...well nevermind that. Let's just say that I understand why he lost his head.

That said, it doesn't change the fact that he and his family are pretty much white trash with money.

(Aaron's finance used to date Nick??? Ewwww.......)

Gives new meaning to the term 'Sloppy Seconds'.
Angel2Chaos
I just saw it as well. It's very sad, honestly. And I agree what Corbinxxa84 said about the way Nick's siblings turned on him just because he wasn't willing to throw money his mother and sister's way, without any proof of his mother's illness first.

And then to make it worse. The fact that his mother never even thanked him after he sent her five thousand dollars! ...It makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it. No wonder he was so angry and bitter about the situation.

Well, at least the family seems to have love for each other. I see genuine affection there. A kind of affection I don't even have in my own family... Lol. So they've have something going for them.
Gharlane

OK, this is the third reason I will not watch this show but could not articulate.
lalucha
So sad. So very sad in so many ways, foremost in my mind that these people are willing to show this to the world.
adfan
Just saw it and WOW. That family is a bunch of mess.

How sad is it that the 2 celebs who were raised on the road (Nick and Aaron) are the ones that seem the most sane.

I feel bad for Nick that he has to support all his sisters who do nothing to support him. Especially the crazy BJ one who I would have kicked out of the house by now. Then she threw a fit because Nick wouldn't pay for her ticket to see her mom while the other one complains he has millions and doesn't want to pay.

How about you 2 get jobs and pay your OWN way? And go pay for your mom's spending habits also. After all that mother did in the press to Nick and Aaron I don't grasp why those 2 boys would even speak to her let alone give her a dime.

The fact that the girls can't see Nick and Aaron's side against the mother is also ridiculous.
Your Grace
I just watched this on Google video and all I can say is they are sad, sad, sad. They are like the Compson's from The Sound and the Fury with Aaron cast as Benjy except dumber.

ETA: They could all probably take their turn as Benjy, expect I wanted to hug Benjy.
RedOne3781
So, I just got done watching the first episode over on Google. My lord! You can take the trash out of the trailer, but you can't take the trailer out of the trash.
And yet, I feel so SAD for them.
Interesting show.
emersende
Agreed with everyody so far. The whole time BJ(? I can't tell the blond girls apart) was whining aout how she's the only one who cares about her mother, I was wondering if it would kill her to have some sympathy for someone who feels so used by his mother that he's cut ties with her. It got me going back through popdirt.com archives to try to find out what happened with her.

The girls are big jobless slugs and Aaron annoys as usual. Nick might be a violent drunk who repeats himself too much, but he seems like the only tolerable one. And it is one effed-up family.
Mita_Jo
When does this show actually begin airing? Like what day of the week?
DesiLu
Monday at 9:00 (Calif. time) on E!

The Soup was showing a preview of an episode in which Nick is fighting with Aaron because after Nick had broken up with Paris Hilton, Aaron decided to get in Paris' good graces.

Joel McHale then made the comment that if you're on E! arguing over Paris Hilton, the train has already gone off the tracks. And it's funny because it's true.

I caught that clip too...seems Aaron just can't keep his hands off his big brother's sloppy seconds. Ick.
Sarahelca
I love the picture of Aaron in the opening credits. If that is Aaron under all that photoshopping...
lavenderbrown
I thought this started tomorrow?! Haha it is so incredibly bad so far! Nick's let himself go... He looks awful.
BostonsKrissy
I think Aaron looks the worst. Isn't he past the bad skin faze yet? Boy needs to get himself some Proactive, stat!
Sarahelca
This show is just all kinds of sad. I'm not even sure if I can finish it. When they aren't drinking or fighting, they're blaming their parents for everything wrong with their lives. How can they base a season on that?
ChocolateCherry
I thought this started tomorrow?

It was only the first half hour tonight, the full hour is tomorrow, but oh what a delicious tease. How can Nick be the most rational?
Does Aaron have really bad acne or has he been digging crank bugs out of his face?
squirrleyQ
I noticed the sores in his face and the way he was all over the place on Live with Regis and Kelly the other day. I don't think it is acne. I think he is on some meth and is picking and tweaking. Unfortunately I've seen it enough in my own family that I just pick up on it, that and Aaron has an uncanny resemblance (sores and all) to my cousin.

Nick just seems sad in interviews. This guy is much too young to have the weight of the world on his shoulders and having to support a bunch of mooching ingrates. Free Nick!
PdmntPdl

I saw an interview where Aaron spoke of his quickie engagement, and he actually said that he is always very attracted to his brother's ex-girlfriends. And he said this with Nick sitting right next to him. With interviews this disturbing, I can't wait for the show.

If you're read the tabloids on this family, it's very easy to stretch this out...it's that messed up.
rawhide
The whole family just looks badly in need of a shower to me.

I can't tell the two blonde girls apart, and the dark-haired one needs a more flattering haircut.

Aaaaand... that's all I took away from this crapfest.

Ha ha! I feel bad for him too. I think part of it for him is guilt, but another part is wanting to be the hero and be appreciated and acknowledged for that. Actually, both of those things are pretty sad. I'm the oldest of two, and I'll gladly take care of my parents or brother if they need help, but in day-to-day life they're perfectly capable of surviving on their own, and that's as it should be.

I've known a few people who went to the Culinary Institute of America, and from what I've heard about it, it's pretty challenging- you have to cook for the cafeteria and work in the restaurants and study food preparation and science and so forth. The thought of BJ going through culinary school seems like a huge joke. Can you imagine her waiting tables? I'd love to see an hour-long television special in which she discovers that school is hard and then quits.

Sad and pathetic as it is, after seeing that clip I just *HAVE* to see this now.

In Montreal, Nick had an interview with the BSB last year where he talked about his parents and his siblings. It was just so sad. However, after seeing the 1st episode of this show, I need to jump on the FREE NICK train.... Someone wants to make the shirt? I can work on the button and the petition!

His sisters are so messed up. B.J. obviously have a drinking problem. And since I know way too much about his family and the BSB, can I venture that maybe AJ could do an intervention? I find it so sad that a 23-24 year old already has such a bad addiction! Even worse is the though that an 18 year old wanted to have sex (and went on a date with (AT 16)) with Paris Hilton!!!!!!

Can we just get an episode where all three sisters are forced to work for money and then give it all to their mom, just to have their mom go out and drink it ???? That would be funny as hell!
jackiecarr
Nick and Aaron gave an interesting interview on Howard Stern last Thursday (scroll down). I was surprised at how rough Nick looked, even compared to House of Carters. He had the bloated former frat boy thing down pat. Aaron took a lot of ribbing for going to Michael Jackson's 40th(?) birthday party. We learned that Nick's first girlfriend was the now infamous Deborah LaFave (nee Beasley).
BostonsKrissy
And he broke up with Deborah because she cheated on him... with a girl.

Now I feel REALLY bad for him. I just hope there are some cameos from the other BSB. That would be hilarious.

Oh, that would be better than The Simple Life, just for the chance to laugh and feel superior.
