And the worst part is that she (Nicole) looks horrible. During the cycle she was so pretty. Look, I can handle boring. And I can handle stupid. And I can handle funny-looking. But I can't handle all three at the same time.

Give it up for my girl Joanie! <<clap>> <<clap>> <<clap>><<clap>><<clap>><<clap>> She brought the funny and the attitude. I'm telling you, if this modeling schtick doesn't work out, Joanie can be a comedic actress.
Anyone else almost bust a gut when Ms. Jay and Tyra were giving the Krumping demo? I guess I'm spoiled since I saw Rize, the movie when it came out last year:
http://www.rizemovie.com/. But I do have to give them credit for going for it, with no shame.

Well, once again a drama well scripted and edited to convey the story that provided great drama.
As previously mentioned, declaring a signature walk was a cardinal sin in earlier seasons, yet here it is apparently the thing. Danielle has the thing. So does Joanie.
Period.
So instead, we made up some crazy assed twirly doo-doo, low budget thing. Now here's the kicker. Those outfits? Jade was made to twirl. She had a cape (duh), and her dress had slits for her legs. Sara? Joanie? Both had tight fitting ones. Sara's was also super long, sorta like the confection Danielle got to enjoy in an earlier walking challenge. I'm sorry, but it's not fair to compare the twirls of a girl who's dress is skin tight and hugging her legs to one with a full range of motion. And who was it in the corset (Ican't remember) with the short shorts? Cuz...there was no material to twirl. Whoever it was got screwed from the start.
Did Jade look good? Yeah. Joanie looked better, and her dressed looked harder to walk in. But...lets make sure we provide drama by having the girl everyone wanted to get cut win a the gorgeous prize.
It also lends to the argument that Jade is, in fact, a plant, a girl with real modeling experience brought in to create drama. Because in some challenges she can rock, particularly ones that involve some experience with walking/posing...which at 26 and counting, she has.
Leslie's elimination was all right by me. The walk...you couldn't take her to a fashion show. I think something is wrong with her spine. It's cruel, but I honestly think that's why her walk is awkward, and it'll prevent her from going to runway. She was lovely, but I'll have difficulty missing her.
I still love Sara. I hope next week goes better.
I'm loving Joanie more and more every week. I'm glad they're doing the dental work. No chance could any producer ever let her get cut the same week she goes through that, so I know she's safe from the get go next week (unless she quits out of frustration, and she's just way too smart for that). Joanie rocked the runway and kicked massive butt in her shoot. We just may have a blonde winner on our hands!!
Brooke- I'm giving Brooke benefit of the doubt. The Africa thing? How many times have they had to hear that Nnenna is the African queen? And quite frankly, she laps it up. I don't know if Brooke's comment is addressing something that Nnenna said, or the fact that it seems like someone has to mention every episode that Nenna isn't American!! Oh Boy!! Cuz that'll totally change what she looks like in print and massively affect her runway skills, no question.
I think Brooke is frustrated; she sees a girl who's been unkind to her doing well. Sort of like how we hate to see Jade succeed because the editors told us she's the devil? That's how Brooke must feel...on an infinitely huger and more personal scale...whe she thinks about Nnenna.
What if she's said, Oh she can go to hell! Would people call her a racist then? Nope. But it's a more malicious comment than Oh, she can just go back to Africa! And if she was actually american born but then went back and traveled to the moon and whatever THAT ISNT THE POINT. She was upset and apologized.
On that note, pic was ok but still so awkward. Not my cup of tea. Walk was lame.
Hated Nnenna's pic. Looked like a scary evil clown. Walk was bored. She's kind hit coast mode.
Anyone not previously mentioned failed to elicit much response this week.
I love how TyTy had to show off then criticize that the girls couldnt be as wonderful as her. We also learned more about her glorious carer and saw her perfect photos in expensive jewelry. Gag.
Brooke won't win, nor will Nnenna or Jade. Since the producers are willing to invest several grand in dental work, I'm betting Joanie's in until top 3. If we can keep Danielle too- and that's a possibility- between the two of them we can get awesome commentary for the whole season!

Oh, almost forgot. Did anyone catch the names of the gentlemen aswirl twins? I tried to Google them, but kept getting links on the ball club. They were faaaa-buuu-luuus dah links. Especially with their cute little pose on the stairs.
I wonder if Ms. Jay looks at them and sees the future. A future as a 60ish man in heels and skirts teaching young girls to walk down runways.

Can we talk about the preview for next week here? I couldn't stop cringing when they showed Joanie's dental surgery. That looks so awful! She looked pretty upset in the interview in which she said "I was in the dentist's office for twelve hours!" Does the show pay for the work? She definitely could not be a top mod with that snaggletooth but my god. Also I got the feeling tonight that the judges/production were not really aware of her oral situation before they picked her. Tyra said something like "She never smiles. I think she's got something wrong with her teeth."

I think Jade won the challenge fair and square. They were given a lesson in twirling and she was one of the few that did it (and properly). I would also think that the competition went on for longer than the few minutes we were shown.
I guess I'm the only one entirely bored with Joanie and Danielle.
It was kind of unfair to give Joanie wedges in the turn competition.
Don't they wear their own shoes (not necessarily the ones they showed up to panel with, but from back at the house)?
I think we should discuss how the hell anyone can successfully model with a BALD HEAD....people will be sick of your bald head in no time and simply not book you...wigs can only do so much....
Actually, there's a pretty well known top model by the name of Alek Wek. She's African, but has lived in England most of her adult life. She's got the whole, "exotic" and "close to bald" look going for her. You don't see her much now; but for the past 6 or so years, she was pretty big on the world catwalks. So it is possible to be successful without much hair... And no, she never wore wigs either.
Yes, but at this point it's a case of "been there, done that" ....after all, this is the fashion industry and designers, etc. are always after the next new thing not yesterday's news....
There are other (nearly) bald models. They even had one (well, previously bald) as a guest in the second episode (Eve Salvail). I wouldn't think it was really a look that goes out of style in the industry.

But they have already talked about it! Remember when Nigel says that's all he sees when she opens her mouth?? Cut to a shot of Joanie opening her mouth with a sound byte of an elephant trumpeting or something like that. Tyra's "I think something's wrong with her teeth" is a fake set up for next week.

1) WTF with Jade talking about herself in the third person? Who does that, and why do they keep showing it? To paraphrase Danielle, "the sun comes up, the sun goes down, you see the Eiffel Tower and Jade's still a narcissistic bitch"
2) When Tyra called Jade's name, as she walked up, she was brushing off her shoulders - cocky bitch or dandruff?
3) I'm pretty sure that when Tyra handed Jade her pic, Jade whispered something like "thank you for believing in me." To quote my sister 20 years ago, "Gag me with a spoon, barf me out the door."
4) What happened to Nnenna's K-Fed boyfriend?
5) On the official ANTM site,
all of this week's pics (deliberately?) don't show the super-stylin' Payless shoes. I would have thought they'd have some sort of contract obligating ANTM to pimp Payless as much as possible. Or maybe they only do that for Cover Girl.

This is the first time in all my reality watching days that I've failed to be swayed by the bitch edit. So Nnenna hogs the phone and laughs meanly and suddenly she the queen bitch to rule them all. Oh, and she said that Brooke cries a lot. Whatever. I don't know, maybe Brooke is the most perfect person ever and is never mean or inconsiderate but Nnenna is nowhere near bitch levels. That whole storyline is stupid and weak.

I hated Brooke's make-up last week and I didn't like Nnenna's this week. I mean, I had flashbacks to Stephen King's "It" when I saw Nnenna's latest pic. Don't she look a little clownish
here? As for the stealth bitch edit, I'm starting to fall for it. To say repeatedly, and coldly, that she doesn't care she's being inconsiderate with the phone, that can grate. If she's eliminated, she'll be given the not-personable-enough line.
I know the issue's been discussed in-depth already but I agree that Brooke was foolish for making the "go back where you came from" comment. Her mama's Mexican. I would think she'd be a bit more culturally sensitive. I don't know. I just think it's an ignorant and borderline xenophobic thing to say. Brooke's also been tripping lately. She needs to take a break, eat a cookie, and maybe hang out with Furonda, Danielle, or Joanie more. I know being called a crybaby can be insulting but don't let it get it you.
Tyra loves Joanie's personality and "soul." Has to be Top Three. Right? Girl is having four teeth removed next ep? I really wonder about her pulling off the photoshoot. Yes, the photoshoot won't require talking but still. Her jaw's going to be extremely sore and, initially, she will be in great pain (as the preview seemed to indicate). I think she's the real Souljah Sister.

Apr 13, 2006 @ 6:46 am
I was pissed to see Sara and Leslie in the bottom two... only because my roommates and I have a bet about who'll make top 3 and bottom 3 based on the first "intro" episode alone. My top was Sara, Leslie, and Nnenna. They both put Kathy in their top 3, so I guess I can still feel some personal triumph on that terrible call.
Leslie's really pretty, but so are trees, and trees do more than Leslie does.
I don't like Nnenna. When you live with a lot of girls, you need to have some kind of system going - especially if there's only one phone. Come on, courtesy is all that really matters.
Brooke's comments were awful though. And her delivery sucked. It was like she was egged on by a producer. She should have never have brought out the big guns there, but if she did, may as well deliver the lines with confidence. Cringe.
I think Furonda has a great chance. I can see Tyra pulling the "you were in the bottom 2 the first week and now look at you" card. I think she's pretty, and she's got a great personality. And although I can pretty much see through her, it's a great runway body.
I skimmed around (since I couldn't read 11 pages, but I tried) so I don't know if anyone mentioned how Jade was wearing a clown shirt the day after the krumping shoot. It totally looked like a "I slept with that clown and this is the morning after" shirt.

I'd be hard pressed to find anything racist in Brooke's comments. I've heard other people talk about their home country, not in Africa, and they go on and on and on until I want to tell them if it's that great, what the hell are they doing in the US.
Nnenna is damn rude. It's not her personal phone booth or cell phone.
And she's also a big bitch. I loved her in the beginning but, as Janice says, she's dead to me now. However she feels about the other hamsters, laughing at someone else during tasks is bitchy. Karma is a non-descriminating mistress, she might be looking for you sometime soon, Nnenna.
I would also like to point out that Brooke didn't
tell Nnenna to 'go back to Africa,' she said that to a bemused Leslie while bitching about Nnenna. Also, prefacing it with, "if it's so great" means there has probably been some of that 'my country is so superior to yours' going on (99% of the time, anyway. YMMMV). And frankly, I think it wasn't said cause she was black, it was because she was Nnenna, she even made a chemist comment (Brooke was just reaching for things to bitch about and not very well either). We all jumped on Jade for laughing at Gina while she was doing challenges, but it's ok when Nnenna does it to Brooke? (Also, they did show Nnenna saying to a few people that Brooke was a crybaby). Bleh. Brooke's pic was way better than Nnenna's (anyone else think she looked like the joker?) - this week anyway.
Joanie's church walk was awesome and funny, she made me think of Norma Desmond w/the turban and the hood up over it. Jade's outfit, unlike the other girls', was made for twirling and she won.
My faves are still Danielle and Joanie.

Can't stand Brooke!!!
She's a passive-aggresive whiny little crybaby. And yes -- whining that you're not a crybaby while you're actually crying for the millionth time qualifies you as a big ole' crybaby. Claim it -- the title is yours.
I didn't like the --go back to Africa-- remark because it had nothing to do with the phone. I won't go as as far as to call it racist --cuz like many of the other posters -- I don't think she's smart or deep enough to recognize the signifigance of her remark. It's still irritating.
She's irritating. She wouldn't even try the Nick Cannon exercises last week --- she was negative from the very beginning --- like everything she does!
Send her home already ---
And if Nnenna was really such a bitch -- I don't think Furonda would keep picking her for the friend rewards. I'm not saying she might not be perceived as a little arrogant because of the way she carries herself --- but --- I don't think she's nearly as bitchy as the editors (or Brooke) want us to believe. It think it's more about Brooke's insecurities. If you compare their personalities and confidence levels --- they're pretty opposite of each other.

I like the way Nnenna looks, but they are certainly editing her as the "I'm going to use the phone as long as I want to; deal with it" woman. And really, ignoring everyone's feelings probably saves you some stress as far as backstabbing is concerned, but you should be recognizing that other people have the right to use the phone, too. Empathy, Nnenna. It's a good thing.
Maybe Jade is the offspring of TAR's Fran and Barry? They've referred to themselves in the 3rd person before.

I agree with some of the above posters who don't think that Brooke's comments were racist. I do however think that Brooke handled the situation with Nnenna badly. She was very upset and the way she handled it made her look like a fool. I know that I've been in situations before when I've been so upset at someone that I've made a fool out of myself with the way I handled it.
Since the phone issue with Nnenna seems to be an annoyance for other girls in the house, I wonder if anyone has asked her nicely to share the phone? I suspect that other girls have asked Nnenna to share the phone and she has ignored them, hence Brooke's reaction.
Brooke's comment about Nnenna being a chemist and not knowing how to use the phone didn't seem very offensive to me. It just seemed to me that Brooke was so upset that she didn't know what to say and came out with the first thing that came to mind. If someone came up to me and said, "You're a computer programmer and you don't know about phones!", I wouldn't be upset. I'd probably laugh at them, which was sort of Nnenna's reaction.
Ok, that being said.
It looks like the St. Nnenna edit is at an end. I was suspicious of it since the beginning, I had a feeling that the editors was going to pull something like this for surprise drama about halfway through the season. There is one good thing for Brooke about this thing with her and Nnenna, it bought her another week on the show. I suspect that if there was no Nnenna/Brooke drama she would be gone.
On to other topics.
Shut up Jade! I'm starting to believe she is a plant designed for the audience to hate. I think I know why Jade went after Gina, she was intimidated by her intelligence. Jade doesn't know what a facade or a question is; and she doesn't know how to pronounce genre (genDRE)....and we thought that Gina was the idiot of the house. ;-)
Joanie is becoming a favorite of mine. Her walk was the best at the church fashion show, in my opinion. However, Danielle is still my favorite so far. Furonda's pictures are getting better, but she is freakishly skinny. Her dress size is almost negative.

I totally agree that the church show competition was heavily weighted to favor Jade. All the other girls got some strips of what look liked double knit polyester and Jade gets this big honking swirly cape - yeah, that's fair. Also, I don't care what the judges said about how fabulous her shot looked - it was still was drag queen all the way.

Ok, I can NOT freakin stand Nnenna! She is a crack and I think she just fooled us in the beginning thinking she was nice. She's a dumbass who cant handle her stupid ass boyfriend ( or get rid of him ) and then to giggle and laugh during someones performance? Please! Grow the Fk up. Stupid bitch. I wish I were on that show, I woulda walked in and unplugged the damn phone. Brook's comment was stupid but I also agree that I dont believe it was racist as that is Nnenna's home country. No one would be saying a thing if she was from France and she said " go back to france" But it was stupid none the less. Ok, I think I feel myself calming down now....... damn Nnenna anyway. And I still Love Danielle, she is my fav to win

It's weird how just one episode can change my opinion about someone so much. Before this episode - Nnenna was a favorite of mine. Now I really, really dislike her. Her true personality is coming out, and I really don't like it.
Brooke finally kicked some ass! IMO, her picture was the best this week. And I'm glad she called Nnenna what she did, because it was deserved. But I want her to let it go now and really concentrate.
Joanie is also starting to become a favorite of mine. I didn't like her in the beginning but after the future-career-shot and this week's shot, I really like the way she takes pictures. She's a model I find interesting.
I didn't see much of Furonda and Danielle this episode. They were just.. there. Jade was better than last episode, so I guess I'm just meh!Jade now. I don't know.
I was happy when Sara and Leslie was in bottom two, because they were my least favorites (I don't like Nnenna's personality, but she's a good model. Sometimes..) I would rather have Sara going first, but anywayy.
My dream top 3 would be Brooke, Joanie and Furonda/Danielle.

Okay I may be in the minority but when they are raving about Nnenna's pictures I just do not see it. I personally did not think her payless shot was great at all..... I am also not understanding why the judges complain about her lack of personality while they are deliberating but never mention it when they are critiquing her..... On a side note I would love to explore what level of education Jade completed, why does she not know words common to the English language.....!!!!!!!!!!!!

I may be the only one, but I don't care. Jade is growing on me, that woman makes me laugh so much during these episodes I couldn't bear it without her. She was awesome tonight, I love her side comments, "I Like It A LOT" I say that all the time. I loved the Dip..Dip..Dip Dip Dip...comment. Haha. Yay for Jade! Although I wish she would tone down the cattyness (sp?) Using that water bottle while dancing was hot, she really worked it. I love her walk too.
I'm so glad Leslie is gone, her walk just confused me, it must be her body shape.
I hate Nnenna, she is such a mean person. "I don't really care" Of course you don't, you're too elite...whatever, go home.
I love Brooke, she's a cutie. And I believe Nnenna probably always talks about how great it is in Africa, how much fun she had..etc..so Brooke was venting and said "If she likes it so much, go back to Africa" Nnenna is totally the type of woman to shove that in your face to be "better" than you.
I'm thinking Furonda may go next? She just really isn't pretty...at all, and EAT!

Ever since those girls on the first season refused to pose naked, I've been screaming at the TV, "If you didn't want to do this, why did you sign up to be on TV???" Just like I do when people on Wife Swap don't follow the rules. Anyway, after last night's episode I have some newfound sympathy for those who are afraid to pose with spiders and roaches and those who don't want to go naked. You see, I have a phobia that I never really ever thought would be brought up by this show.
I hate clowns. Man, oh man!!! THere's NO WAY I could have done that photo shoot!!! I couldn't even WATCH that photo shoot on TV. Eww! OMG I was able to look at the pictures during judging without having a panic attack, but it was tough. Seriously, I have goosebumps just thinking about it.
That was the creepiest creepy thing ever done on this show.
One of my big creepouts with clowns usually comes from them wearing stiff white gloves. I don't know what it is, but that just freaks me out. I can remember being at the fair when I was little and being forced to shake a clowns hand. OMG So gross, so unnatural feelings. Eww. Ok, anyway, this dude had big scary black gloves on!!! Why do they all have to wear gloves? Yuck.
Ok, ok...I'll calm down now.
I will say that I was surprised to like Brooke's photo.
Did anyone else notice that on the website, they've cropped most of the pics right below the knee? Um, wasn't this a shoot for shoes? Shouldn't those shoes be shown on the website too and not just on the show?
P.S.
This is the scariest picture of them all. You get scary ass Jade and a little peek of scary ass clown wig.

Technically, Nnenna is from the U.S. She was born in the U.S. and only went to Nigeria when she was what, two? She came back when she was twelve? So, she's spent the most of her years on US soil. Therefore, Brooke's comment was ignorant.
Oh, so Nnenna rocks that accent to her benefit then. Let's face it, because it's "cool" to be BFF with the foreign exchange student....puke.
I don't think Brooke's comment was racist, she was just being bratty to get her point across. I think Nnenna did single Brooke out and was deliberately being a bitch to her and I'm glad Brooke called her out on her bullshit. What was she supposed to do, not stand up for herself? Brooke never did anything to Nnenna to warrant being singled out like she was. There is nothing wrong with getting a little emotional when you're nervous during a photo shoot. If you're being a bitch then you deserve to be called a bitch. Nnenna doesn't get a free pass for calling Brooke a crybaby (unprovoked BTW), it's the same thing.

Hi Everyone! Re: last night's episode, I have to keep reminding myself not to get upset-it may say it's about modeling but it's just for entertainment, it's just for fun, it's just for fun. It's like a mantra. Never mind that Leslie was beautiful and sexy and photogenic. It's just a show. Someone, invent a mantra to help soothe my troubled soul! Please, one of you out there, I will be eternally grateful.
Seriously, though, wha?!???? Anyway, some thoughts: I really didn't like the back to Africa comment & neither did my friend I was on the phone with while watching or my husband who was sitting next to me! So I'm glad you guys picked up on that so I wasn't the only one and don't feel paranoid!
I'm sure Brooke didn't mean it to be racist (she's probably too stupid to know the vicious history behind that exact statement in the US when it applies to African Americans, not that ignorance makes it ok, it's still a racist statement when you consider it in context) but it's regardless immature and obnoxious whenever anyone tells anyone to "go back to" country X. I've heard a lot of people say stuff like that, including friends-e.g., if China's so great you'll be going back soon, right?
I don't like it and I've never liked it, I don't care where the person's from. We're a country of immigrants and when people say they love their home country that doesn't mean they should go back or don't have valid reasons for being here. Maybe we're the reason they have to be here-i.e., our unfair trade policies have continued to make poor countries poorer so they don't have much choice but to come here. Ok, I get off soapbox now, but I think it's ok to say that Brooke is an idiot. Which is sad because I used to like her and I still think she's pretty, but she's a big fucking weepy baby. She should at least admit it. I'm a crybaby but I don't try to deny it. As for Nnenna, yes, she can be a little snooty, but I DON'T CARE!!
Some of them deserve to have SOME bitchiness thrown at them. And come on, Brooke was bitching about how "everyone thinks she's nice" but she's not. If everyone thinks she's nice, I'm sure she mostly is, she doesn't strike me as the sort to put all the work into being fake and putting on an act. She just didn't have patience with Brooke's whining. And honestly, everyone was laughing at Brooke, why did Brooke zone in on Nnenna? Joanie laughed at her! And we all would have been too!
Nnenna's gorgeous and cool and smart and I think she should win. Who's with me?!
Um...Jade...she is SO FUCKING UGLY! It's been said, but it has to continue to be said, forever and ever. Why is she there? WHY? I have never felt this confused. At least Amanda,(C3) took great photos even if she was edited to be a bitch (I realize some of you say she is actually cool and has been on the boards, so we'll assume she was edited unfairly; also she was nowhere NEAR as bitchy as Jade). Eva, also, could be bitchy but IMO took good pictures. Yaya too. Why can't you at least pick someone to play the bitch whose face doesn't scare small children? I hate that she will not stop referring to herself in the 3rd person. Also...how scary was she in that church? The whole thing smacked of sacreligion!
The show is just getting lazier and lazier about pretending to be "high fashion". I mean, Payless?! We all go there, and they have some cute shoes, but it isn't high fashion! None of us would choose to have our feet pinched off with cheap plastic shoes or to support 12 year old boys from Laos being enslaved in sweatshops if we had more money. Damn. "Mommy, I want to be a model one day so I can own as many payless shoes as I want! That would be so glamorous" "Um, honey, you can NOW."
Let's see, what else...poor poor Joanie! Was anyone else sad when they saw the preview clip that she was going to get her teeth pulled? I thought I'd be happy since she's so pretty and seems nice and funny too but she has that insane SNAGGLE tooth; theoretically she'd be a great contestant without such a major flaw...also is one of her only flaws, or only one, IMO, but very striking when she smiles. But then I was sad because I saw the pain she was going through, and that they pulled 4 teeth, and had been at the dentist 12 hrs, and I thought-is this medically a good idea? Will this have long term health consequences? Is it worth it? She's a beautiful girl, so she has a damn snaggle tooth. Should ANTM have let her-funded her-to be mutilated? I'm sad about this. Is anyone else? She and Danielle seem really sweet and I like them a lot, I was happy to see they seem to be pals...Mollie Sue said Danielle is like her best friend now. I think we'd all be hanging with them, they have great senses of humor and seem to take the whole thing with a grain of salt anyway.
Furonda is too damn scrawny. Ick. I love her personality but she's emaciated.
One last thing...if I ever hear the word "crunching" again I might go crazy!

Damn you, TiVo! It hates me and didn't record last night's episode. I take comfort in the fact that UPN will repeat it 6 times before next week. But I deduced from your posts what happened and must say, I'm surprised that Leslie was the next to go and that Sara was in the bottom two again. I thought for sure Brooke would be a goner.

Oh, so Nnenna rocks that accent to her benefit then. Let's face it, because it's "cool" to be BFF with the foreign exchange student....puke.
Not really. She spent her formative years in a different country. Therefore, her accent is authentic. I was born in Nigeria but raised in Stillwater, Oklahoma from age 4. I don't have an accent because I learned to speak English around the same time I was learning to speak at all. Not to mention the fact that she probably still speaks Yoruba (? I can't remember ever mentioning what ethnic group she was from) as her main language and english as her second. I think we're grasping at straws if we start saying that the accent is "put on".
That being said, I"m going to need more than "she doesn't share" to prove that Nnenna is a bitch. Sorry. Brooke over reacted and got upset when Nnenna didn't jump to make her feel better.

Of course Jade the Drag Queen would rock the twirling. Boys in drag are great twirlers.
Not sad to see Leslie go...cute but boring. There was never any fire in her pics, just pretty.
For once I did not think Furonda sucked, but I am ready for her to go as well.
I am sad that I am not that excited over these girls this year- except Danielle!

Tyra's ass looked fat in the shot of her walking back to the judges table. Maybe it was the dress. She looked like the back end of a schoolbus.

Nnenna is a bitch! How inconsiderate of her to hog the phone like that. That would piss me off too. I'm glad Brooke told her off. I hope Nnenna is eliminated soon. I can't stand her and Jade.
I didn't like any of the photos this week. I thought the theme of the photoshoot was silly. I think it would be nice if they did a Sports Illustrated type of shoot on a beach.
Tyra Banks was a supermodel. Just looking at the old footage of her walking the runway and her doing the demonstration at judging made me realise that she is a very good modeling tutor for the girls.

Tyra's ass
is fat. That photo right before judging with three Tyra's? Photoshopped to HELL. No way her thighs are that thin. Really, though, why should she care about her weight? She's retired from the supermodelling world.

Really, though. As much as we snark on her and no matter how nuts/bitchy she can be, whenever she examples something or it shows old runways/photoshoots of her, they're always amazing.

Nnenna should not hog the phone, it's very inconsiderate. However, Brooke is the one who came off bad in that scene. She went in the room hurling insults "Do you not understand how to use the phone?!" and from what I saw (because that is really all I can judge by), she didn't lead off by asking if she could use the phone. She yelled at her, insulted her, then tried to confront her about the laughing at the judging (which Joanie did too, btw), then seemed to expect Nnenna to fold. I think Nnenna handled it well by staying quiet and letting her rant, then picking the phone back up to prove the point that that is not how you approach people if you want something. That's usually the best way to handle people who are emotionally out control, let them go off, then go about your business. They get all flustered and....start crying.
Speaking of which, Brooke, crying everyday (unless someone died) DOES make you a crybaby. You cry at every competition and whenever you feel stress. Doesn't make you a bad person, or weak, but own up to the fact that you cry all the damn time. Her looks are growing on me though, I thought she was incredibly ugly at first. And also, she talks a lot of shit about other people, way more than any of the other girls except Jade, from what we've seen.
I don't think Nnenna is a bitch anymore than the others are. I do, however, think she's one of those people who lacks social skills beyond surface politeness. If she was a true bitch, she wouldn't be getting picked as the friend to share the prize, and more people besides Brooke would be saying it. I do think everyone is annoyed by the phone thing though, just not taking it to the level that Brooke did.
I'm starting to want to see crazy ass Jade or party-girl Joanie win this thing. They are the only two who really intrigue me anymore. Forunda is funny, but just not attractive. The others are so blah they'd turn into Naimi Part II.

Crackers, it tickles me that you're talking about race while your username is, of all things, crackers. And yay! Another one for the Nnenna train! I'm with you - I think she is long, lean, elegant, and cool as ice.
Joanie is still my first favourite, though. Truly a great one for the remarks. Nearly up there with Elyse. (Gasp!) And I know - 12 hours? Daaammnn. 4 teeth for 1 snaggletooth. We must all suffer for beauty, I guess.
The Payless shoot was truly plumbing new lows. But maybe Tyrant is just being realistic? Anyway, I've decided that, on my student budget, I'd rather own a few really good pairs of shoes than a lot of really crappy Payless shoes. The horrible synethic materials really burn the soles of your feet, and what's more they have this suspicious rubbery smell to them.
You are a Towel, some accents don't care if you've been in the country for 14 years or 4. Sometimes they just decide to make themselves comfortable, fluff a few pillows, turn up the music, and settle in for the long haul. I know, because my mom has one of those accents.
ETA: ITA to Tenille. I think the problem a lot of people have with Nnenna is that while she is civil, it is a very cold sort of civility, not at all warm. And she's almost too self-possessed for liking. Personally I find her refreshing, amidst all these drama mammas.

P.S. This is the scariest picture of them all. You get scary ass Jade and a little peek of scary ass clown wig. Shudder!
I thought Jade's picture was completely horrible. I know most of these girls will never work regularly, but based on the pretext that this show is looking for a potential "top model", they should be applying professional standards to the judging more often. Like, "Would this ad sell shoes?" My answer? "Not to me, it wouldn't!" I would never even have noticed the shoes. First I'd notice the forty year old man in the yellow fright wig, then his bad skin and dead-eyed yet hateful expression and then his dainty asscheeks hanging out of that minishirt. Then, the clowns.
The Clowns! If that were an ad in a magazine, I would have turned the page before I got to the shoes.
I love the
expression on the middle guy's face, though. He looks like he finds it hilarious how ridiculous Jade is.
Of course Jade the Drag Queen would rock the twirling. Boys in drag are great twirlers.
I was waiting for one of the judges to bring up her draggy twirling for the CG commercial shoot last week. "See, Jade, there's a time and a place to look like a man spinning madly in a dress: At church, during a fashion show!"

Whenever Jade talks about herself in third person I want to pounce on top of her and smother her with a pillow. It's so intensely obnoxious.
The girls in the house need to get a timer and set a time limit for phone calls. Seriously, if it bugs them all when someone hogs the phone, all they have to do is stop someone from doing it. I doubt Nienna would ignore all of them. My like for her has faded a bit. I think she is kind of boring. Not particularly bitchy, no more self absorbed than anyone who goes onto a reality show to become a model. She's just dull.
The judge's brought up Jade's age for the first time. I bet that's the reason they use to finally oust her. The girl is beyond delusional and she thinks she's far more intelligent than she is. She's an ass hat.

This show is such a crock of trash. I think Brooke's comment was ignorant but not racist. And i always go all over these comments. But I lost a lot of love for her that was a low blow sweetie. Now if anyone is racist is stupid ass Tyra and Mr. Jay. Both are minorities I believe Jay is Puerto rician why do they insist on piling all these sterotypes, we get it it Tyra , you THINK YOU ARE a down black girl. Lets move on before I call Niaomi to beat your ass with the shoe she tripped in.
Jade is a horror story come to life. I personally think Joanie rocked that runway and Danielle has the best walk. Nnenna is still beautiful if a little detached. I thought Leslie was so pretty but that walk was horrid so you know what the decision is fair. But JAde needs to go NEXT WEEK PLEASe.

And also, "Aswirl!" !!! Hello, they were fabulous. Talk about bringing this show's drag queen flair to a new level. Oh man! Loved those guys. I hope they show up next season too.
And umm...Miss Jay? The purple sweater and scrunchie (I swear that sweater had a unicorn or My Little Pony on it) is cute on a 4th grader. Not so much on a 40 year old man. He is the tackiest queen I've ever seen, but I think he likes it that. Strange...

I just love how Nnenna is getting the attempted bb edit and people are falling for it.
Nnenna hogged the phone and that was inconsiderate of her. Someone should have approached her and spoken to her about it like an adult. And no, Brooke going to Nnenna and bitching at her like she's a two year old does not count. No wonder Nnenna ignored her and got back on the phone. Yelling at someone is not having a conversation with them.

I don't think anybody mentioned this, but the Most Priceless Moment of the Episode was when Joanie wandered out into the living room-type area with the laundry basket on her head and, when asked about it, said, "I'm a basket case!" Girl cracks me up.
As far as Jade goes? Meh. I think if you forget everything else about age, bitchiness, unattractiveness, insanity, etc., the basic problem is that Jade has one and only one facial expression, that psuedo-fierce glare that she does in EVERY photo. I think most people who are legitimately "super models" can do more than one facial expression. I can't believe the judges haven't called her on it.
Oh, and did anyone else, when hearing the word "crump," think of The Simpsons episode when they went to faux-IKEA and Lisa wanted the pencil holder called "The Krunk?" Just me? O.K., just checking.

Nnenna is a bitch! How inconsiderate of her to hog the phone like that. That would piss me off too. I'm glad Brooke told her off.
What some viewers are failing to realize is that Nnenna was off of the phone when Brooke started berating her. Only then did Nnenna pick up the phone, start a new conversation and ignore Brooke. Really, why should she just sit there and ALLOW Brooke to insult her, questioning her intelligence and all. If I were Nnenna I would have done the same thing, I would rather talk to that immature, whiny, god-awful boyfriend of hers than watch Baby Brooke throw a temper tantrum in the middle of the room.
Also, what was up with Brooke's "Go back to Africa" comment? Brooke best watch her mouth, because she looks like her lineage might be a bit closer to Africa than she realizes. Remember how Tyra said that Brooke's picture looked *ethnic*, that's just another coded american english word for "Black."
Nnenna is a very poised young woman and handles herself accordingly. It should not be expected that every woman of color will act like a Beer-Weave (Tiffany) or a Ronald McGapTooth (Brandy) by cursing, screaming and threatening bodily injury.

Hey nausicaa!! Your description of Nnenna is 100% right. Long, lean, elegant, cool as ice- exactly. Even if she was a bitch I wouldn't care. But, I have yet to see conclusive proof of this. Re: my user name, I never thought of the connection between Crackers and cracker...! I just thought Crackers was a cute name and had thought it would be a nice name for a puppy one day. Now, I am wondering about how good a choice it was!!!! I hope no one thinks I'm out there looking for cracker solidarity! Oh, and as for those of you saying Tyra looks fat, that made me sad. :( As much as I can't stand Tyrant's "personality", I do think she's beautiful and I think it's great that she's willing to look like a real woman, I don't think she's overweight at all, just not starving herself. Ok, maybe I'm a little sensitive right now because I'm 5 months pregnant. :)

I agree that Brooke's comment may be a bit sensitive, but I took it more like Nnenna has the exotic sophisticated accent and a big deal has been made in earlier episodes about her life moving back and forth and her connections in Nigeria (?). I'm sure the difference there gives Nnenna a bit of an edge (she IS the "exotic" one of the bunch) and a bit of it sounded more like jealousy or that Nnenna was trying to play the "I'm more special than you" card. But it's all just guesswork on our parts. We didn't even get to see half of what was going on. I'm not sure it's a situation we can judge, really (though we all do... that's half the reason we're here talking about it).
Regardless of how Brooke meant the comment, people in general need to be more aware of how others can take what they say and interpret something different and I think this is just another example of that.

Crackers, I don't think Tyra is fat either. She's not model thin anymore, but she's still thinner than the majority of American women. She looks much better on her talk show, when she's not tricked out like a drag queen and without the Valerie Cherish wig. As much as we like to rag on her, she's still got a hot body and is a great looking woman.

Awww, congrats. I agree, Tyra's far from fat. She's too big to be a model, but she's kind of thick, which I like anyway. I thought her butt looked great in that dress. Then again, flat butts aren't my thing, so hey.
DarkCorner , word to your whole post. The editors were really grasping at straws to make Nnenna look bad, and all they could show was, "Brooke cries a lot", and Nnenna on the phone. Man, if that's all it takes to make someone a hideous bitch, those editors are geniuses.
