Ever had a crush on a commercial spokesperson?
I've always been fond of the Tic Tac girl of the indeterminate (South African?) accent from a few years ago.

I love the guy in the indoor dog food commercial whose dog follows him around his house. I just think he is so cute and so sweet with his dog.

I thought the blue kilt wearing hunk in the Skittle commercials was hot. I'd take him over the creepy evil beard guy.

I love the boy in the Gain detergent commercial who's being surrounded and sniffed by all the ladies. He is just so funny-looking and cute. I could eat him with a spoon. Oh, and sniff him... Deeply.

The Sprint guy! So cute, so huggable...word to what that girl says on her webpage:
His genuinely nice face, his calm, reassuring voice, his compassion on others! not too mention how good he looks in that suit, tie, and trenchcoat. and on top of it all, what humility, letting the product get all the attention, content to be known as the sprint pcs guy. What is there not to love!?
Amen, sister!

The old Taster's Choice commercials showing an ongoing relationship between a man and a woman made me swoon for the actor. He had the most delightful English accent.
Imagine my joy years later, when I recognized him as Anthony Stewart Head AKA "Giles" from Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

I loved him too, but I don't think he had a British accent in the Taster's choice commercials. The woman did, but I remember him using his American accent, which he does very well. I remeber being surprised to later find out he was British (same with John Mahoney).

There was an ad for Folger's a few years back with a woman Irish step dancing around her kitchen (yeah, I don't know, either.) Kind of a silly ad, but I always thought she was too damn cute. Freckles are my weakness.

Bit of trivia: The Folger's woman is
Sharon Maughan, who's been in a couple of recent British television programs (
Holby City,
Casualty, etc) and is married to actor
Trevor Eve (
Troy,
Possession, my beloved
Waking the Dead (TV), etc).

I don't love

I wouldn't really call it a crush (I don't even think she's terribly attractive, kind of average), but I have immense affection for the girl in the anti-smoking PSA who's marvelling at how good her hair smells since she quit smoking. I don't know why. She just makes me smile. Nice casting job - for once, someone in a PSA who doesn't make me want to put a shoe through the TV screen.

Wasn't the DiSarrano guy also in the second season of Joe Schmoe? He annoyed me in the commercial before, because he took the bait of that hussy with the ice cube, but after I thought I saw him in Joe Schmoe 2, I gave him a second look.

No disrespect intended,

As to Hot Heroin PSA Chick, I remember teasing my male buddies who knew better than to even try to deny thinking the same thing.

Am I weird that I kinda crush on the "adorkable" guys? I lurve the younger guy on the Ocean Spray ads. He looks so familiar tho' like he was in a sitcom or something.
I also like the poor geeky guy who has to eat the live "calamari" or milk the bull on the AIG ads. Of course, "Johnson" who keeps eating cereal at his desk to the chagrin of his supervisor is a cutie. And even tho' he doesn't have a big geek factor, I like the handsome guy on the "Free Credit Report" commercials too.
How does one find out who these commercial actors are anyway? Is there a website or something? Erm, not like I will start stalking them or anything... unless they live close by.

Yup, Hey I'm Jeff, that's the one, and while I'll happily step outta the way - and even refrain from bashing his face in so he'll look nice on your date - you may have to fight JakeyIsSusan who lusts after him also.
Me, I just flipped across an old Magnum, P.I. episode and remembered why I used to lust after Tom Selleck, who is now a pruny, slimy haired has-been. Give me 80s Tom Selleck please!
Oops, back on topic: Cereal eating Johnson has some cuteness, especially since we fired our loser Johnson from our office so I can see the humor in the spots once again.

Two new ones that I just saw and gave a little piece of my heart to:
There's a Dockers commercial with a young studmuffin in khakis sitting at a sidewalk cafe, reading, while the song "I Want a Sunday Kind of Love" plays over him. A girl walks by and they Meet Cute when a waiter drops a tray of glasses on them. There's something about the way the guy looks up at her that gets me. Also, he has really nice ankles. Don't look at me like that, it's just something I notice about a guy.
Then there's a new "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" commercial where a landscape gardener tells his customer that the price for doing his lawn has gone up dramatically. When the customer asks why the price has shot up, the gardener says "I was in Vegas last weekend. I had a wild time...but not as wild a time as you did." The customer turns pale, gulps and meekly buys the guy's silence. The blackmailing gardener is obviously a total sleazeball, but he's so damn cute and has such a beautiful smile that I overlooked the moral issues and just drooled. Does this make me a bad person?
