I looked and didn't find a thread... any of y'all remember Queen Latifah's short-lived talk show?
My favorite, FAVORITE episode was the one about kids who were trying to act "not their race/ ethnicity." Putting aside the dubious nature of the topic, this led to one of my favorite talk show moments ever. At the very end there was this teenager of Polish descent who was absolutely convinced he was Puerto Rican, who had the following exchange with an audience member:
Audience Member: You're not even faking Puerto Rican-ness very well. It's not authentic!
Kid: Oh yeah, what do you know? *fires off some crack in Spanish*
Audience Member: Well, guess what? *fires back in even BETTER Spanish*
Audience and Queen Latifah: OHHHHHHHH! *goes crazy*
I'm paraphrasing pretty badly because it's been forever since I saw this, but god damn that was hilarious.

I remember the one where they had people from different races going to live with families of different races...LOL
If anything those episodes did more to promote racial disharmony than anything!
And there was this one black guy who came on saying that he would never date a black woman because that would be trading in a Porsche for a Hugo...
Well, when he brought out the women that he did prefer dating...Well, let's just say they weren't all that and a bag of pork rhinds...LOL

I actually liked her show. She seemed real (I remember how she promised to go to a bullied girl's school one day...and she did it). I wish it lasted a little longer.
I remember an episode where a biracial girl and her mother were on the show. The girl was going on and on about how she hated white people (her mother was white) and said they were corny. I found it funny, especially when she looked more white than black. And the random audience member got up and said, "You hate white people? Think they're stupid? Does that mean you think half of you is stupid?" That girl knew she looked and sounded like an idiot.
