A thread for the love that dare not speak its name, whether it be J.D. and Turk, Elliot and orgasming latina patients, or The Todd and himself!

Love JD and Turk's horse back ride on the beach! On one horse! They are so cute together. And today it was his Mocha Bear.

And JD's cutesy nicknames for Turk continues when Turk explained the Wedding Ring of Invisibility™ to which JD said.."Please T" heh.

JD's Thoughts: Just tell him how you feel without sounding like a girl, for once.
JD: I miss you so much it hurts, sometimes.

From "My Day Off":
JD: I want you to know, if I ever need surgery again, I want you inside of me.
Turk: I want to be the one inside of you.
It's funnier that they're entirely serious with each other. Well, that and the "Fat Albert" fantasy bit afterwards.

And there's a touch of JD HoYay here:
J.D.'s : Standing there, I couldn't help thinking about the way things used to be....
***Fantasy Sequence: The Doctors' Lounge
J.D. stands before an irate Dr. Cox, who is giving him a classic verbal beating...and a shower -- as he yells, a fine mist of saliva sprays from his lips.
Dr. Cox: [yelling] Don't forget, Felicia, if you...
The scene (and Dr. Cox's words) slows down, over which the Love Theme from Tchaikovsky's 'Romeo and Juliet' Fantasy Overture plays to depict the absolute rapture J.D. finds in the yelling, the shower -- the bliss of how things used to be.

Forget Turk, we got Janitor and JD:
Somewhere in S3 - Janitor and JD have reached some level of mutual respect, and walk out of Sacred Heart side-by-side. JD moves to put his hand on Janitor's shoulder, but Janitor warns him off.
Then, just as they turn different directions outside the door, JD pats him on the ass.
(Consider also that Janitor has a key to JD's apartment, has asked JD out on a date to the ballgame, and cares whether or not JD wears the shorts he gave him.)

I love JD/Turk. On the season 4 dvd, I think it was Bill Lawrence who said, "Turk and JD are almost exactly like Carla and Turk- except they don't have sex." I think that sums up their relationship pretty well. They're both hilarious, and definitely best friend's in real life.
Here's one of my favorite Turk/JD moments:
J.D.: [giddy] Turk's back from his honeymoon!
J.D.: [waving] TURK! HEY!
(Turk looks at Carla)
Carla: Go ahead.
Turk: JAAAAAAAY DEEEEEEEE!
(He bumps into a patient)
Turk: Whooooa, J.D.! J.D.!
Carla: Maybe some day he'll love me like that.
Hehe, so funny.

I loved the episode that aired in this weekend's marathon wherein JD snapped out of a homoerotic daydream by shouting "I do not have Gay Jungle Fever!" The look on Carla's face when she turned to Turk and told him it was time for them to go was hysterical.

Someone on livejournal explained once that they think there's less JD/Turk because it's, I think the words were, "handed to us on a silver platter" or something like that. It's so obvious that it's not as much fun for writers to craft into something, I guess.

Wow, this thread should be blowing up considering the slashiness of this show.
I think because so much of the slash is overt, that it tends to not receive quite as much attention. It's more self-conscious, if you will.
I love it, though. Bring it on!

LOL. I wonder how people would have reacted if they hadn't cut that slashly exchange regarding JD in "My Own Private Practice Doctor":
Cox: "Looking, Mary-Kate here is my own special bitch and a lot of time and anger have gone into shaping that ass, so be gentle."
Pete: I'll have her back by nine... sir.
And then JD spends the entire episode thinking Cox is fighting with Petey over him.
Cox: You took something that did not belong to you.
JD: That's a little possessive, but I'm flattered (paraphrase)
That episode is filled with hoyay.

I know mining for subtext is more fun than the in-your-face slash, but still. JD and Turk are so bleeping cute and in love.
I hate to admit this since I do like Carla, but I've had visions of her being the one who dies leaving little Izzie with two daddies. <sigh>

Elliot: J.D.?!
J.D.: ["Entering"] Morning, friends! Who's ready for some java?
Carla: Are you wearing boxers?
J.D.: Yes, I am, Carla! Because I know when Turk's sad, he likes me to come over in my boxers, because he likes to call me his "honky adonis." And that's what friends do.
Carla

Me, too! His hand gesture seemed to include Keith as well, and the slasher in me certainly saw potential.
Is anyone feeling the Keith/JD love? Keith's little grin when JD said they could have been best friends if not for Elliot was too cute for words.
Let's not forget Keith's willingness to take off his clothes for JD, and that episode where he kept accidentally getting in bed with JD instead of Elliot when he was drunk.
I'd love to see more of these two. They crack me up.

So in the deleted scenes for S3 they show Turk writing his vows and Todd says to him,
Why don't you say something like you're so glad you're together, and that you love their smile, and their laugh, or getting lost in their big brown eyes?
Turk: You think Carla would go for that?
Todd (obviously smitten): Who's Carla?
Hee! And awww...

Wasn't it at least implied that Keith might have gone further than just cuddling with JD's brother Dan, when the latter showed up mistakenly thinking that Elliot was into him? Even if Elliot put a stop to it in time, he certainly seemed willing.
Sandman
Feb 20, 2007 @ 3:01 pm
Didn't Dan say "I almost had a three-way with her" in a "Huh. How did that happen?" kind of tone? I had the impression that Dan wasn't that into it; Keith seemed no more than faintly annoyed. (He says something like "Elliot, you have to tell me in advance about this stuff," while limbering up.) I keep thinking that Elliot herself might have gone along with it just because she's the poster child for conflict-avoidance.
It's the limbering up part that makes me laugh and laugh.

Just saw the very first two episodes through my now always present slash colored glasses : Damn! Had no idea that the Yay was that prevelent since the very beginning! JD, immediatly gravitating to Dr.Cox, the almost back pat after saving the patient, Turk insisting that JD move on and stop obsessing about his man-crush, JD visiting Cox at his home, all culminating in the freaking awesome speach Perry gives,"Now do you want to be the big spoon or the little spoon?"
SO GOOD!

A lot of people express disappointment with the way the whole JD/Elliot romance was handled. Every time I watch that episode arc unfold, I'm reminded of a similar situation w/ adear friend. He had an elusive dream girl that he actively pursued, got her finally, and quickly realized that that he felt nothing for her. Six months later after much soul searching, he came out.
Sigh. A part of me can't help wishing that the producers and Zach Braff had headed in that direction. Somehow, I can't see the others on the show being that suprised.
"I'm having such a gay day!"

Ah, but didn't they address that already w/ Dr. Cox saying it wasn't that he was homophobic, but that JD was in fact, female?
Hee.
Can you imagine The Todd's attempts at "wooing" JD in light of such a revelation?
Or Carla's panic that Turk and JD are that much closer to running off togeether?
Again, I sigh at a missed opportunity.

To me, the whole JD/Cox dynamic is waaaaay slashier than anything Turk and JD have done or said. I think it's because their relationship is subtler, and, strangely, more realistic and probable to become sexual than JD and his Brown Bear.
