I lurve Gary Sinise. He's the only reason I ever bothered to watch "Forest Gump" a second time (and third and fourth...) And wasn't Melina Whatsherface in Judging Amy?

I don't know about Judging Amy, but Melina starred in her own show, Providence, for awhile.
As for the others, other than GS who I know from a bunch of stuff (Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, Of Mice and Men), Anna Belknap is the only one I remember seeing before this show when she was on Medical Investigation (and yes I watched that show, leave me alone!).

My sister and I will always remember Hill Harper from the episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air when Will suspected Lisa (Will's girlfriend at the time) of cheating on him after finding out her friend Dana was a guy and not a girl, which led to him following them around the supermarket dressed in a fat suit. Anyone else remember that episode?

Carmine Giovinazzo was in a episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where, IIRC, he ended up being vampire chow. It'd be kind of funny if CSI:NY indulged itself (further) in the franchise's penchant for exploring sex fetishes and did an episode on vampire wannabe types, with Danny as one of the investigators.

Yeah, Carmine was in the Buffy pilot for like a minute or two. He was the first victim on the show.

I was a fan of The Handler with Anna Belknap and Hill Harper. I don't know if they had any scenes together yet but I was happy for a little reunion.
Eddie Cahill became my TV boyfriend when he was on Friends. Because he was so damn hot on that show and this show.

I think Carmine may have been the first person ever seen on Buffy, not just the first victim.
He also played Thumpy G on CSI: Original flavor. I loved him in that episode, to the point I was hoping Thumpy G could become a recurring character. Haha.

Melina was also on "Due South" as Benton Fraiser's love interest/criminal. I think her name was Victoria. This was the first role I remember her in. I remember loving her hair. I think she gets shot, trying to save Fraiser.

(slightly embarrassed) I watched Mission To Mars just for Gary Sinise. Even weirder, I actually paid to see it in the theatre. Somebody please tell me I'm not alone...I mean, there were other people in the theatre with me.
And I also liked Medical Investigation, and am happy that Anna Belknap is on the show.

Eddie Cahill in the movie Miracle of course (all abouthockey of course for hockeymom). He and Gary Sinise are why I started watching CSI:NY when I'm able to.
Gary Sinise is so good in so many different roles: Ransom as the bad guy; The Stand as the good guy.

I watched Ransom recently--quite a sacrifice on my part since I can't abide Mel Gibson. Am I alone in this? Anyway, at the end I was hollering, "Stop shooting Mac! Stop it! You're hurting Mac!" GS was outstanding in this as in all his roles, but I just couldn't buy him as a bad guy since he will forever be Mac to me. I was rooting for him throughout!

Banana Tooth, I went through the exact same thing with

And how could I have forgotten about

I was watching my normal Charmed reruns this morning while trying to wake up and who should appear on my screen but Flack! Or rather Eddie Cahill with longish hair. I prefer him with the shorter hair he now sports, but it was still fun to see him. He played a very small part of a guy that Prue stands up, then incorrectly thinks is stalking her, then dances with at the end. I just have to say I never would have stood a guy like Eddie Cahill up. :)

Did anyone catch GS hosting the national Memorial Day concert on PBS (or was anyone there?) I only saw bits and pieces, but I got to see him telling the story of a soldier who fought in Iraq. He was using the soldier's own words so he was speaking in first person, and you could completely believe that GS himself had been there. He started tearing up and swallowing, and so did I along with him. It was so very well done, so touching and meaningful.

I know Anna Belknap was a missing person on Without a Trace just last season.
CBS was rerunning WaT's season premier from last season and it was weird watching it again after coming to enjoy Anna as Lindsay (Anna's part was in both the 2004-2005 season finale and the 2005-2006 season premiere). I had known Anna from stuff previous to
CSI:NY but never really identified her with a role, but now I see her so much as Lindsay that it's a little odd seeing her somewhere else, even somewhere I'd already seen her. I don't have that problem with Gary Sinise since I've seen him in so many things that while I love him as Mac, it's not hard for me to associate him with whatever character he's playing.

Evidently Vanessa Ferlito (aka Aiden) isn't having trouble finding work. Here's a bit of an article titled "Ferlito to Test If She's 'Death Proof'" over at zap2it.com:
The former "CSI: New York" forensic detective will play one of the targeted victims in Tarantino's slasher segment of the "Grindhouse" double bill he's collaborating on with Robert Rodriguez.
Not bad, a gig with Tarantino should get her noticed. I probably won't see the movie though because it's not my cup of tea and I'm not a big fan of QT.

I saw Gary in It's The Rage, and even though I didn't care for the movie at all, I loved Gary as the geeky, millionaire recluse. I've rarely seen him play something so broad, and it was quite jarring - in a good way. He was bizarre and pathetic, and quite the goofy dancer.
He also sports a very amusing British accent in a very old episode of Hunter.

Okay, I can't believe I didn't realize this before now.
I've been watching pretty much all of this season of Survivor and there is a contestant named Jonathon that from the recaps I knew had done some acting.
But until I happened to wander into the Survivor thread tonight (something I never do) and clicked on a link someone posted to Jonathon's imdb.com page I had no idea that CSI:NY was one of the shows he had appeared on!
And what's crazy is that I can even remember the part he played. He was Newt Glick in Run Silent, Run Deep aka the sleazy guy who was running the "dating service" in the B story. I just can't believe I didn't place that, especially since I bought the Season 2 DVDs and watched them after this Survivor season started. I am now going to seriously doubt my ability to recognize TV actors I've seen before.

It's a nice little Hallmark movie. It was just on yesterday too. I watched it again, if that means anything.
Gary Sinise is certainly in it a lot, he's the main character, so it's not a blink and you'll miss him movie. If you like Hallmark movies, you'll probably like it. It's sweet and sappy, and you know just how it's going to end.

Well, I guess I know now why Emmanuelle Vaugier was added as Det. Angell when I thought they already had a good extra female detective in Det. Maka. Apparently Kelly Hu (aka Maka) will be in a show titled In Case of Emergency that ABC has picked up and it will start airing in January.
It may not be long before she is out of work again though considering her new show will be up against American Idol and Criminal Minds. I almost feel sorry for her for that time slot, it's got to be about the worst one out there for the second half of the television season at this point.

Don't forget Married, With Children.
I think there should be an episode where Ed O'Neill guests as Hawkes' medical school mentor who is suspected of murdering his wife.
"I was kind of young and naive back then. But he injected a little reality into me."
"He was married for over twenty years. He had two kids. He always used to complain about his wife, but I thought it was just a running joke..."

I just caught most of a bizarre little movie called Bruno, which features Gary Sinise in a supporting role. He plays a cop who's estranged from his young son. The little boy likes to wear dresses as he competes in Catholic school spelling bees. GS is upset by his son's cross-dressing habits and refuses to take the little boy home with him when the boy's mother is hospitalized after a heart attack. He does make it to a spelling bee early on, but leaves when he sees his son make a grand entrance in a wig and sequined gown that would make Diana Ross proud. By the end of the movie, he's had a change of heart (of course). Shirley MacLaine plays Gary's disapproving mother; she also directed the movie.
The movie was apparently released in 2000; despite it being from only a few years ago, GS looks so much younger!

I watched a sweet movie called "Secondhand Lions." It stars Michael Caine and Robert Duvall as brothers who spent much of their adult lives as adventurers in Africa. They now live secluded on a farm in Texas, but are forced to take in their young grandnephew (Haley Joel Osment) when his mother (Kyra Sedgwick) essentially abandons him on their doorstep. Part of the movie is flashbacks of Robert Duvall's character's exploits in Africa, including his love affair with a princess. I didn't realize until I saw the end credits that it was Emmanuelle Vaugier playing the princess. I don't believe she has any speaking lines (we mostly see the action of the flashbacks, but hear Caine or Duvall narrating the events) so I guess I just didn't pay her enough attention to recognize her.
Don't worry: her romantic scenes are with Christian Kane (who plays the younger version of Duvall's character) and not Duvall.
