Hi, I'm JerseyGirl291. I found out about Firefly three months ago, and I fell in love with it. I've seen every episode about three times, and about will be watching again when I make my parents watch it soon with me.
Thank you so so much for the forum!

Illinois/Indiana, depending on whether I'm at school. Lands of Lincoln. I think being dragged to Lincoln sites as a kid goes a long way to explain why I like the civil war, and thus also why I like firefly.

Shiny! I was going through serious TWoP Forum withdrawal last night, and then I saw Firefly was getting it's own forums and I did the FireflyFangirl dance all around the room. Believe me it wasn't pretty. But, thank you, Glark and company!

Yep. Vancouver.
I usually hate it when fans manage to insert "shiny" or "'verse" or "big damn" into every sentence, but I just have to get this out of my system. Shiny.

I didn't even notice the little spaceship! I was too happy at having a firefly hoyay thread again. Though nothing could ever replace the original, it's almost like going home again.
Also, I was going to start a Nathan Fillion topic, but I couldn't think of a clever title (I was tempted just to call it Nathan Fillion: Attention Whore). Any good ideas?

Is Captain Tightpants too obvious?
Or maybe the classic I love my Captain.
Or Bad in the Latin.
Of course, these are pretty character-specific titles, as cutecouple points out below. I don't see why the Mal thread couldn't also be the Nathan thread, but maybe that's just me.
For Nathan himself, how about Canadian boys make great Captains? Nah, there's got to be something better.

Mar 10, 2006 @ 2:22 pm
No. I like it. Though wouldn't we have a thread for a character and not the actor?
queenb
Mar 10, 2006 @ 2:25 pm
Yeah, Captain Tightpants would be for the character. I was thinking of having an actor thread because Nathan has a movie coming out and also never shuts up so there are plenty of things to discuss about him.

Well, in addition to the cast in other roles thread, maybe we could have a cast in real life thread.

"Everyone's makin' a fuss."
And why not? This is Min, saying "hey" to everyone I know, and "nice to meetcha" to everyone else.
BTW the easiest way to handle the actor vs. character thread is just to have a Firefly Cast in Other Roles thread.

from the HoYay! thread,
Oh Nathan. You adorable whore.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I think we've found ourselves a title for the Nathan Fillion thread!
cutecouple
Mar 10, 2006 @ 5:35 pm
Regarding episode threads, I started out creating episode threads in the DVD or intended order.
The fourteen episodes of the series are, in the order originally intended:
Episode - First airdate
1. Serenity - December 20, 2002
2. The Train Job - September 20, 2002
3. Bushwhacked - September 27, 2002
4. Shindig - November 1, 2002
5. Safe - November 8, 2002
6. Our Mrs. Reynolds - October 4, 2002
7. Jaynestown - October 18, 2002
8. Out of Gas - October 25, 2002
9. Ariel - November 15, 2002
10. War Stories - December 6, 2002
11. Trash - June 28, 2003
12. The Message - July 15, 2003
13. Heart of Gold - August 19, 2003
14. Objects in Space - December 13, 2002
This is way the heck different then the broadcast or recapping order. Would anyone object to following this order? If so, then I'll go back and get the threads I started adjusted. It's a bit more work and thinking then following the broadcast or recapping order, but I'd rather follow the original order then the one created/caused by Fox.

Oh wow! A FIREFLY thread! I'm so excited! Just wanted to holla out a big HELLO to y'all! I'm from Los Angeles, California and I got into FIREFLY via DVD on Netflix and loved the movie. I'm also a Joss Whedon fan and own BUFFY & ANGEL on DVD as well. I just love that guy. I just ordered a FIREFLY set to own for myself, so will look forward to coming by and chatting about my fave folks and stories in the future. Thanks for this Forum, Glark!

Hi! I'm actually a new fan of "Firefly." I was a big Buffy person and I watched the premiere of "Firefly" (The Train Job) and didn't get into it. But now that it's out on DVD I got the DVDs and realized how great it was. I can say with certainty that "Serenity" was a better pilot and the show would've been more successful if FOX hadn't interefered.
Anyway I've watched "Serenity" (movie) three times this week, so needless to say, I'm a huge fan now.

I didn't start watching Buffy into season 5, and I didn't watch Angel until its season 3 (about halfway through), so I was determined to get in on the ground floor of Firefly.
And then I fell in love.
For the first time in my life, I sent postcards and donated money to try to convince stupid Fox execs to save my show. If I recall correctly, they pinned their Friday night hopes on John Doe and Joe Millionaire, the motherfuckers.
I saw the movie at a preview, and then I saw it 8 more times before it left the theaters. I'm still in love.
