Will do.
Are we going to do the good old CSI meet and greet - animals, stand on peeps, and ... I forget the last teeth? Or... any other idea?

I'm so so so happy we have our own subforum. Now I wont' have to go all over trying to find the CSI threads.

Mar 10, 2006 @ 12:39 pm
This is just too cool, I highly approve of having a CSI subforum ...
Anyways, Lady B, I can't remember what the rest of the standard meet-and-greet was either! Shall we add favourite CSI perhaps? Or something? My responses would go as follows:
Animals - love 'em all, except dogs who repeatedly try to lick my face.
Peeps - I have never had one, I don't think they have them here where I live, but from pictures they look yummy.
Fave CSI - Nicky, with Sara a close second.
Does anyone else remember what was in the original list?
Lady B
Mar 10, 2006 @ 1:02 pm
I've been thinking about it all day and it could be that the last thing on the list was chocolate - in honor of Sobell's love for all things Scharffenberger bittersweet chocolate.
Country Girl
Mar 10, 2006 @ 1:15 pm
Animals - I also love them all--have lots of cats at home (I'm at college now).
Peeps - Never had one. They kinda scare me--I just don't imagine them tasting good.
Fave CSI - Sara, definately, and then probably Grissom.
And the last one was definately chocolate (I remember that much) - Mmmmmm....you give me any type of chocolate, and I'll eat it.
Just wanted to pop in here and say something...when CSI was still recapped, in the early days, I hung out in the Meet Market a lot. Stopped doing that for some reason and got really behind. Maybe if I start posting right away, I'll have a better chance of keeping up.
There are so many people that I'm not sure are here anymore!!! Lanarian? Erik? And so many others....I hope I see some familiar names in these posts.
Karoline
Mar 10, 2006 @ 1:23 pm
I guess I'm sort of new here, then. I'm a huge CSI fan but I've never been able to keep up with the CSI thread. So yay for our own subforum!
So shall I do the meet-and-greet too? I think so.
Animals - Huge animallover - but the favorite is definitely lions.
Peeps - Don't think I've tasted them.
Fave CSI - Greg, Nick and Calleigh.
Chocolate - Anything. I'm like the chocolatemonster.
Lady B
Mar 10, 2006 @ 1:33 pm
Okay, now that it's been decided that chocolate indeed was/is the final thing on the list, let's go:
Animals - dogs and horses.
Peeps - undecided.
Fave CSI - Catherine without a doubt. She's been my TV girlfriend for little over five years now. Next - Grissom
Chocolate - Almost anything. No "Mon Cherie" or whatever those chocolate covered chery things in the pink wrapper are called for me though. Those are scary.
Lady B
Mar 10, 2006 @ 1:34 pm
Oops double post.

Mar 10, 2006 @ 2:50 pm
Oh goody, a subforum! We get colors and stuff!
Anyway...
Animals - reptiles and fish
Peeps - Only after they are properly aged by exposing them to the air for at least a week.
Favorite CSI - Greg, when the writers remember who he is.
Chocolate - Mmmmm, just about any form I can get it, but I especially like dark chocolate.

Mar 10, 2006 @ 4:16 pm
I don't show up in many meet markets, but I should probably at least pop my head in here. :)
So...
Animals: Dogs for domesticated, Tigers for wild ones
Peeps: Love them, but I gave up packaged sweets for Lent, so I'm eagerly awaiting Easter
Favorite CSI: Nick on the Original, Frank on Miami, and Mac on NY
Chocolate: Most kinds, though I abosolutely love 3 Musketeers and Snickers
nerdyduck
Mar 10, 2006 @ 5:35 pm
Yay for our own forum! I haven't done a meet market in awhile, but here goes.
Animals: I love dolphins and dogs.
Peeps: Never had one so can't say.
Favorite CSI: Greg and Flack (even though he's not a CSI, he is just too hot)
Chocolate: Huge fan, would eat any kind but prefer the dark chocolate variety
whatthedeuce
Mar 10, 2006 @ 5:36 pm
I was hoping that the CSI franchise would get its own subforum soon, and now it has! Woohoo! I've never been to the CSI Meet Market, so here goes nothing:
Animals - Dogs, turtles, hamsters. I like all kinds of animals really. I used to have four turtles, which stunk shit, but now I'm pet-free.
Peeps - I generally can't stand marshmallows so Peeps are yucky to me.
Fave CSI: I think I love just about everyone on CSI: LV and CSI: NY, but George Eads' cuteness is the reason why I began watching the former so I have a soft spot for Nick.
Chocolate - Don't even get me starter. We could be here all day. That IKEA chcoloate is one of my favorites though. Damn, I wish I had some right now. Ooh, I love Toblerone now, too. Yum!
Capt. Mnemo
Mar 10, 2006 @ 6:05 pm
A CSI meet market again. Hurrah with shiny brass knobs on!
Animals- Dogs, dogs, horses, and dogs. 'Though I'm currently petless due to landlady requirements.
Peeps- Pretty neutral on the Peep question. They're more fun to play with than to eat. I did once have a run-in with the Japanese red-headed step-demon of the Peep. Peep-shaped, but made out of a bread-like substance and filled with a powder so dry that when I ate it, it sucked all the moisture out of my mouth so quickly that my head turned inside out and I died. Beware the dreaded Japanese Bread Peep, folks.
Favorite CSI- Once upon a time it was Grissom, and David the UnFun Coroner. Then Grissom never developed as a character, David got less screen time, Catherine got too much, and my loyalties turned eastward. Now it's Danny Messer, Mac Taylor, Stella B., and Det. Flack.
Chocolate- Yes, please. Recently had a type called "Dagoba" that was dark chocolate and chili peppers. Decidedly odd, but not wholely unpleasant. Haven't yet decided whether I'd recommend it to anybody.

Howdy everyone. Now that we have a CSI subforum I've decided to come back out of lurking mode.
For anyone who knows me and cares, of late I've been busy taking care of my Dad, working too many jobs, and planning batshit crazy road trips to see INXS (I managed to see 8 gigs on this past tour in February 2006). My thesis isn't finished yet due to financial and family issues, but I hope to defend this September.
For those who don't know me I've been a member of TWoP for quite a few years, and joined up expressly for the CSI forum and Sobell's recaps. My fave CSI is Grissom. I simply adore Billy Petersen. I also love watching CSI: NY for the forensics. I watch CSI: Miami for the snarking. I don't do Peeps. Love dark chocolate, but will eat any kind of chocolate offered to me. Currently I have no pets.

Mar 10, 2006 @ 7:02 pm
I don't think I've ever participated in a Meet Market thread before... well, a couple of posts over in VM, but that's it. So here goes!
Animals: I like anything with fur, and especially dogs. Things with feathers are okay. Scales? Uh, not so much.
Peeps: I like 'em, but I always eat more than I should in one session, and get way sick. So I don't eat them often.
Fave CSI: Dr. Sheldon Hawkes, totally and completely. Other favorites are Greggo, Nick, and Danny (and Flack and Hodges, but they're not technically CSIs).
Chocolate: I like it, but same problem as the Peeps. I eat too much of it and make myself sick. Fun fact! I hated chocolate until I was six, and would've hated it longer only I made myself sick on whipped cream and there were no other desserts available.
daniac
Mar 10, 2006 @ 8:06 pm
I am a first timer at a Meet Market too!
Animals: Dogs and I have been obsessed with the baby pandas at both the National Zoo and the San Diego Zoo since they were born. I check on them everyday.
Peeps: No thanks but PrincessArtemis you remind me of a former boss. She had to let her peeps age as well. She was so excited when they started selling them on the other holidays (Is it still a peep if it is shaped like a ghost or a tree?)
Fave CSI: Gil Fave labrat was Greg when he was still in the lab but now is Archie. I do have to admit that Hodges is growing on me.
Chocolate: Dove milk chocolate or if I can get to Vermont Mother Myricks milik chocolate cashew turtles
Merreh
Mar 10, 2006 @ 9:30 pm
I feel like this board is gonna be my new home, so I should probably introduce myself :-)
Animals: I have 3 cats (between two houses), but pretty much any cute baby animal makes me melt. Baby seals and pandas lately, because they've been in the news.
Peeps: I eat them around Easter, but more because they're tradition than because I actually like them.
Fave CSI: Vegas is my favorite of the shows. My favorites on there are Greg, Nick, Grissom, Warrick, Brass...ok I've really got a thing for the boys. I also have the TEENIEST crush on Speed from Miami.
Chocolate: Any. I'd even consider trying Grissom's chocolate covered bugs if I was really itching for dessert.
As for me personally, I'm currently a first year law student, and CSI is my main escapism method. I think it's kept me sane.
Namarie
Mar 10, 2006 @ 11:29 pm
I don't know if I'll be hanging out here much, but I'll join in the introductions. I remember Sobell's recaps with fondness, and think it's cool that we have a CSI subforum now.
Animals - I love animals. I have two cats, and I have owned rats in the past.
Peeps - Nasty.
Fave CSI - Sarah and Nick.
Chocolate - Dark chocolate is my absolute favorite, but milk chocolate with nuts is pretty awesome, too.
Hey, Zoned Out! ::waves:: D'you think there's any chance for a Numb3rs subforum any time soon? Probably not, but that would be cool!
EyesOfCat
Mar 11, 2006 @ 1:06 pm
I'm a fan of all procedural shows, so I'll introduce myself here...
Animals: I have four cats, and two long-distance ones (my friend's, that I'm taking care of while he's out of town). I'm obsessed with pandas even though I haven't yet been to the zoo to see Butterstick - I just don't like crowds.
Peeps: fresh, no. Aged... maybe. I haven't had them in years. This is the right time of year to go looking for some to age.
Fave CSI: Here's where I get myself in trouble. I like Greg, Brass and Doc Robbins, Mac and Lindsey, but my favorite is Horatio. Not so much this season, but still... yeah, I know I have a problem.
Chocolate: Yes, please! I love the white chocolate Hershey Hugs.
Zoned Out
Mar 11, 2006 @ 1:08 pm
Yes, you do have a problem EyesOfCat, but that's okay. Admitting you have a problem is the first step towards recovery. ;)
Nice to see you here Namarie. I don't know if I could deal with a Numb3rs subforum, I would probably go crazy wanting to read absolutely everything...except I do that anyway... ;)

Mar 11, 2006 @ 2:58 pm
I love CSI. The original that is. I've only seen like 2 or 3 Miami episodes and no NY ones (although I'd like to try that one out).
As for favorite CSIs? That would have to be everyone from Vegas minus Catherine. Other than her, I pretty much love everyone from Hodges to Grissom.
Enthused Fish
Mar 11, 2006 @ 3:46 pm
My first time posting anywhere that has a subforum. How fun!
Animals: Dogs, snakes. However, our pets always seemed to get run over by cars on the highway so I don't have any pets right now.
Peeps: YUCK! Never.
Fave CSI: Nick, with special mention going to Grissom because he's why I started watching the show in the first place.
Chocolate: Anything as long as there's no coconut in it.

Delurking...
It sure has been awhile! It is good to see some familiar "faces"!
I finally got my Master's in Forensic Science and I'm currently job hunting. I inteviewed for a CSI position last Wed so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Other than that, same old shit. Oh yeah, I moved. Next door. It took almost 2 yrs but the new house is finally done.
Animals- 6 dogs, 1 cat, 2 snakes, 2 sun conures(just laid an egg) and 1 almost 13 yr old boy.
Peeps SUCK. Although previously mentioned boy eats them for breakfast.
Fave CSI- Grissom of course, and Lady Heather is a close 2nd, even though she's not a CSI.
Chocolate- anything but dark.
Come on out Lan...Erik...Dragon....Gaia....Sorcha...

Hey guys!
Honestly, I haven't checked into the CSI threads here since we lost our old one. At the moment, the only names I remember are Lady B and rain1970.* Hey ya! *wave* Congrats on your Master's, rain. I've really missed our old chit chats here!
Animals: none at the moment, apparently I'm allergic to feline hair since I moved out from my parents', where we had a cat. Strangest thing!
Stance on peeps: none, they're not available in Germany!
Favorite CSI: none really, I do like seeing Greg though.
Chocolate: white or milk
*I used to be able to code without thinking and now I actually have to check where the [ is on my keyboard. Argh!

Yay for Subforums!
Err, hi? It's certainly been awhile since I posted in a CSI thread, I wasn't very active back in my actual fannish days either, but boy, it's good to see some of the old folks around again!
Now all we need is Sobell to drop by. :)
Animals: Cat & Dog
Peeps: I don't think I've ever had one...
Favourite CSI: Have always been, will always be, a Nick girl. Then Emergency Backup David and then Sara.
Chocolate: It's chocolate.

Good to see y'all again nesara, Ember, and rain - congrats with the MA too.
I'm still at the same school where I started subbing right after I finished my MA. It's hard work but a lot of fun. Not really challeging though. I hope that in the near future I can either find a position at a teachers' college or get my act together and apply for a PhD.
No boyfriend yet - but I have a friend who I'd like to be a little more than a friend. Now, if I could only figure out how to tell him that. Hmmm....

It's so good to have this forum back! (I know I'm repeating myself, but it's true!)
Officially, I'm still a student at the same college but I'm currently doing an internship and after I'll start writing my thesis, which is due at the end of June. So I expect to get my BBA this summer.
You remember the boyfriend that got upgraded to fiance last year? Well, he'll be upgraded to husband in less than three months. Preparations are in full gear and I just can't wait!
Lady B, that's hard! My SO just asked me if I thought we should give it a try as neither of us was having somebody at that time and it just so clicked! Try that approach!

You know, I've been wondering what this Meet Market is, you would think it would be self-explanatory <g>, but sometimes...not so much. And where in the world did you guys come up with the "peeps" question? ;) Just want to say a hearty Thank You!! to whoever is responsible for the new digs. I found this place (TWoP) last May just before CSI went to PH and the pretty forums went into one giant thread. I was devastated. And when I'd go to the Dramas section and that one CSI thread would be on like...page 5?? Reduced.To.Tears.
However, it's a sunny new day in the CSI subforum so here goes...
Animals - none now, but we're mostly dog people. Had a few growing up. Just too lazy to be responsible for a pet now.
Peeps - not on your life. Ok, well, maybe on your life, I mean I wouldn't let you die or anything so drastic, but just in general? A world of no.
Fave CSI - show would be the original and still the best, Vegas Baby!! I can not be so bothered with the CSIclones because they don't have Nick, Warrick or Grissom!.
Chocolate - yes please! I can deal with an almond or a peanut in it, just don't do anything crazy to it like stick a gooey cherry in it, or cover a raisin in it for sobbing out loud. That's just...wrong.
nesara
Mar 12, 2006 @ 5:08 pm
Lady B, the SO and I got together via ICQ, so SMS is like you're already dating. *G*
VJDancer, the peeps question came up a couple of years ago. Around Easter and it just stuck. I've seen other Meet Markets here and most are really just a "Hi, my name is xxxx and I'm new here." Our Labitrail (as it used to be called) was much more of a off topic chat - about really pretty much everything but the show.

Mar 12, 2006 @ 7:38 pm
Nice to see some familiar faces again. CSI-NY has worked it's way to the front, with LV in second. I watch Miami for the comedy and snark.
Peeps-Not in a long time.
Animals-Still have two cats and 3 sons. Oh yeah, and the husband. ;P
Chocolate-Any kind that I can find but mostly the dark stuff. Hershey Miniatures and those Lindor Truffle things.
Ocean Chick
Mar 13, 2006 @ 11:59 am
Hey, all you old timers! Good to see so many of you back again. And yeah for subforums!
Animals - I like most every kind, but currently do not have any pets. I grew up with cats, dogs and reptiles though.
Peeps - Not my favorite thing, though I can eat maybe 1/2 of one. Too sugary.
Favorite CSI - Definitely Sara, followed by Grissom. My love for Catherine depends on how bitchy she's being written. Love me some Warrick and Archie for purely carnal reasons. I'd love to be the filling in a Warrick/Archie sandwich. And I mourn the loss of Det. Hottie (Lockwood) still.
Chocolate - The darker the better. Love, love, love Sharffen Berger bittersweet. And now I'm also digging the Dagoba with chilies. So awesome.
Congrats, rain, on the MA!
Happy Harpy
Mar 13, 2006 @ 4:07 pm
I'm totally new to TWOP and to this thread...and I'm looking forward to post with all of you!
Animals: Not much of an animal person here. I love cats, but I love freedom even more than they do, so I don't keep one. I'm allergic to dogs, but I don't like them much anyway.
Favorite CSI: Stella, Mac and Flack in CSI: NY...if I have to pick some, because I love the whole cast. Warrick, and sometimes Nick, Grissom, and Sophia (yes, I do!) in CSI: Original Recipe. I seldom watch CSI: Miami, but my favorite would be Calleigh.
Chocolate: filled with liquor, although Kinder Country chocolate is my Waterloo.
MacMadame
Mar 13, 2006 @ 10:10 pm
Animals: Roasted. (Yes, I'm kidding.) Mr. Mac has allergies so the kids have chinchillas. They are cool. Kind of like cats that can't be housebroken.
Peeps: An abomination. Except when they
go to the libraryFavorite CSI: I have so many. Everyone on CSI: original flavor except Catherine. On CSI: Miami I used to like Calleigh, Speedle and Delco but all have been killed off either literally or figuratively. On CSI: NY I like most of them except the new girl but I love Mac and Danny.
Chocolate: Love it in most of its incarnations include the junky stuff. Speaking of junky chocolate: I'm eating Tootsie Rolls right now

As requested, rain, I delurk. :)
In addition to that, I am giddy that someone actually remembered me. Thanks for the ego toast, Country Girl! :D
So, so glad to see that CSI has it's own mini-fora now. Considering this is where I first met so many good friends, it warms the cockles. In fact, it was our wee group that started the "Introduce yourself, and your stance on peeps" for those of you that are wondering. (I still hates 'em, and I hissed at them in Shopper's the other day)
I'm still where I was, back whenever it was I made that last post. erik and I have been living in sin for well over a year now, and though we haven't yet succeeded with our immigration application, it should be complete before the fall! Yes, wedding bells (thank you, TWoP!) no, not this year. We are broke, yo. Congrats to nesara, however. Very exciting!
Singing is going very well, and I hope to be actually making money at it before the end of the year - which I do not believe is a lofty goal. Recital at the end of May, recent performance for the Rose Bowl Trophy at Kiwanis.
Thus, my life. It's kind of nice to see the old haunting grounds again!

Just to show how much out of the loop I am: the immigration application is for erik, right, Lanarian? I remember when you guys first met. Love due to TWoP--awwwww! *gets lost in warm fuzzies*
Congrats to nesara on the fiance/almost husband and rain on the MA. I can't even image doing that. Last time I posted on a CSI forum I was still in high school--now I'm a sophomore in college, working on a degree in Mechanical Engineering (and still debating the wisdom of that choice almost every. single. day.). It's baaaack! Yay!
It's great to see all those familiar names again. I stopped posting completely when the CSI forum was abolished last summer. But here we go again.
Nothing has really changed in my life. I still work as a school teacher and play tennis. I still love taking holiday trips: spent the week after Christmas in the Caribbean. And I still like to watch CSI: L.V., even though Miami is more popular over here in Germany [shudder].
No peeps in Germany.
No pets, not even a boyfriend at the moment.
Chocolate: yes! The day before yesterday I visited a local chocolate factory with my students. That was yummy.
Favourite CSI: Grissom (there's not enough of him in the episodes IMO and I heard a rumour that it's even getting worse in season 7. I like Sara, too, and the fact that she appears to be happier again.
I'm desperately waiting for the spring to begin. We've had temperatures below zero day in and day out for the last weeks, which is rather unusual for our area, and it starts to suck, to be honest.
