I saw the Dr. Love scene on Salon.com's Video Dog and it really is even worse out of context. When it's all by itself, it really sounds like a PSA. Ouch. I really hope there aren't any more of those in the can.

Can I be the first in this thread to say F.U. IC? Learning today that it was decided for Erin that she would leave the show had me in all sorts of knots today. What writer kills a MAIN cast member. Yes, the audience needs to have some investment in the character in order for the death to be effective, but one of the 3 Muskateers? Talk about selling out an actress for the sake of ratings.

The Dr. Love scene made me laugh more than anything. I think what was funny was the way that ED and LH were reacting - wide-eyed interest and that feverish "I want to help" response. And I'm not sure I want to hear about rats' milk ducts, you know? Eee.

Ilene is like a Greek tragedy and now so is her show.I love the word Hubris and it fits IC perfectly.

I expect in season 4 Bette will discover that Tins was really her mother and then she will cut her own eyes out, for laughs of course.

ED's podcast was very sad, she does not sound happy to be leaving the show. I hate you IC.

and whoever asked if SSwas leaving of her own accord ... I seriously doubt it. Her use as plot devise is done and IC has made her disliked enough that people will be applauding when Shane dumps her at the alter. I have given up pretending that she will be on next year. I hate you IC.

I no longer believe in a place called Hope. It would be amusing if EZ gave IC a STD.

Yesterday without TWOP was like a Sunday evening without alcohol!

I listened to ED's podcast yesterday. Does anyone know when this was taped? My guess would be prior to the beginning of the season.

I was also kinda surprised that at the beginning of the podcast she was rather tight-lipped and about half way through she was spilling her guts...

Does anyone think that if this was taped prior to the beginning of the season, IC might have ended up altering the storyline that we expect to see unfold over the next three episodes? A girl can hope, can't she? How pathetic am I?

The podcast was recorded about September (six mon. after IC told ED about Dana's storyline) I think it was also after Katrina since ED makes a reference to wanting to be in Louisiana which I took as her wanting to help out.

I don't foresee this storyline changing since this is the way IC wanted it to play out from the start.

I think ED tried not to give too much away but once the interviewer asked about Dana's death there was any point to do so any more.

I'm guessing that they weren't sure when they'd release the ED interview so if they wanted to do it earlier in the season it would stop around the 17 minute mark like many of the others but since they chose to release it after ep. 10 then they included the death s/l comments. Her podcast is nearly 30 minutes.

I took it the same way, probably after they did the Red Cross PSAs. What I found interesting, is that I was a little offended (being from New Orleans) by S.S.'s comment when she said the place she wouldn't want to be was New Orleans (almost a joke). On the other hand ED's comment that she would have wanted to be in Louisiana touched me. Believe me - Katrina is/was nothing to joke about.

I just got the feeling ED really wanted to do something. To ED: Thanks!

I don't think there was any "almost" about it, Shahi was definitely snarking. I didn't take it as a slam on the city or those impacted but more what a mess in the aftermath that the gov't allowed it to become. Hopefully, few could simply make detached jokes about the situation without the undertone of sarcasm.

Hello. I used to come here a long time ago but sort of fall out of the posting world. Well, I've been watching Season 3 of "The L Word" and I needed to talk to someone about it and since no one I know watches the show, except my mom, I remembered I could come here and post about it.

I still haven't watched the episode that was on this past Sunday but from reading the thread it sounds like I missed quite a bit. And I also learned some things about ED and SS that truly made me sad. Especially about SS... she's my favorite.

Question: I'm pretty sure she is but I just want confirmation that Jennifer Beals is pregnant in real life?

And do you guys really think this is the end of Tina and Bette? I'm not sure how I feel about that. I part of me is actually glad but at the same time they are staple of the show.

And what do you guys think about Kit and Angus? And Moira/Max? I find her character intriguing. She's definitely different than the other ladies on that show.

Too bad TPTB didn't let ED do one of the Katrina PSAs. Sorry, my post should probably have a bitterness warning at least until after the end of this season.

I am very happy that TPTB did put out a podcast from ED, I wasn't sure they were going to. The fact that it was extra long and gave her the chance to say good-bye in away was also nice (speaking as a fan of ED/Dana YMMV)

Another interesting thing to note about the timeline of things is that IC told ED about Dana's death in March and it sounds like the season 2 episode 10 commentary was recorded at least after the episode aired in April since KM, ED and LeH talked about watching and TiVoing it. So this might be the reason behind the extra snarkiness.

Wow! A brand spanking new thread :)

I have put off listening to ED podcast, but I think I may do it this afternoon.

I saw a promo for Sarah Shahi's new show Teachers. The first thought I had was 'She is going to be huge'. Even if the show doesn't make it I think this mainstream attention will open her up to a lot more things, she truly is one of the most beautiful women on TV.

Off to waver back and forth on whether to listen to ED's podcast...

PS. I am soooo getting my ass kicked in the final round of the L word fanisode contest! LOL Oh well, it was fun and I will play again next round.

Why didn't the L Word get it's own forum? They gave Firefly it's own forum and the show has been caput for what 2 or 3 years now. Should we e-mail The Powers That Be?

Since they deleted the old thread. I was wondering if anyone would re-post the photo of the new cast member.

ED's loss is going to have an enormous impact on the dynamic of the show.

I agree that SS is being written out of the show. It's the only thing that makes sense as to how Carmen has been written this year. I recall SS mentioning last year that they were going to develop her family in S3. She didn't provide any insight for next year.

I think ED and SS depature speaks volumes about the creative team not knowing what to do with their characters. They seemed to have ran out of ideas of what to do with a gay athlete and Latina. So they gave up on them. Damn shame. There is so much storyline to be had with both those characters. I'm a huge tennis fan so I know there was alot of stuff they never explored with the character of Dana. With Carmen they could have brought on a Latina writer to flesh her out more. What a waste.

I wish the L Word cast would be given an opportunity to sit in one room and be interviewed. I would love to see the cast interact together and provide character and group analysis. Perhaps I'll write Logo.

Yea new thread, same ol' snark. I asked a while back about TLW having its own forum and someone answered that its more fun this way. I have to agree with that its nice not to have to jump thread to thread. Its funny how TLW has more responses than any of the subforum like Dawson's or L&O Its like this nice room full of different conversations, the only thing needed is an open bar and snacks.

I think that would be a great idea but I doubt that Icky Chicken (I love a new name for the new thread) would allow them to do something like this on another network. When Showtime and LOGO were all under the Viacom umbrella maybe that would have been possible but now - I have my doubts.

My only hope it that one day there will be a great "special features" section on the season DVD. Remember during the commentary w/ Icky and JB in S1? JB talked about how the cast would get together at her house to work out scenes. Now a video tape of those sessions would have been great to watch- or some of the pranks they all talk about. Bloopers would be fun. The unscene scene of Olivia taking JB's hair and making a mustache would be cute. So many lost moments.

Maybe we should start a list of things we would like to see on the season DVD and send it off to Vancouver. (As for this season's DVD, I have already made up my mind I won't put out the bucks for it- S2 was such a huge disappointment.)

During TWOP's long hiatus I looked at some other boards. And, since pop seems to be occupied elsewhere, I will say that there have been posts saying that Laurel and IC got an almost constant stream of "Keep Tibette Together" remarks from the fans. To which Laurel smiled and looked over at IC to see her reactions. :)

Read something on another MB about the journeys Betta and Tina have been taking this season and how they reached pinnacles in this recent episode. Both finally got to the point they've been striving to get to, Bette finally accepted who she once was is who she wants to be and the same could be said for Tina. It pains me to think that this is it for TiBette and I don't think it truly is, it's just it for this season. On a side note it bothered me when Bette said Tina was changing who she was when Bette has been so different from who she is.

I still haven't watched the episode that was on this past Sunday but from reading the thread it sounds like I missed quite a bit.

Yummy new thread, thanks Glark! Though, I must say that yesterday sucked. It was just me and my addiction to TWoP staring me right in the face. All day. There was some sobbing and rocking back and forth in my chair at work.

Hey, after watching what is now nearly all of S3, during the entire length of which JB has been pregnant, I am convinced that JB must have had some have some agreement with Icky Chicken (love it!) this season stating that there be no lezzie lovin' while there's a bun in the JB oven. I know that this season's storyline really hasn't allowed for any JB lovin', but I wonder if that was the point. The only physical affection that we have seen JB's character engage in this season is a finger BJ from Senator DD (which DD performed on Bette, not the other way around) and a few bitter, chaste kisses with Bacne humper. Do you think that maybe, just maybe, there was something contractual going on with regards to JB's pregnancy? Lord knows LH let it all hang out when she was preggers (good job little trooper!), but JB? Not so much.

Ok, I finally got a chance to watch episodes 8 & 9.

First off, why must Bette be crying in damn near every scene she's in? I'm mean it's reached the point where it just comical now. Whenever she comes on screen I just try to calculate how many seconds will pass before the tears start.

-- Carmen, you are a bit of a bitch aren't you? But you are hot, so I'll forgive you. I was actually kind of bummed that Al called Shane during the whole "What do you know about family" scene because it looked like Shane was working on getting really pissed, and we've yet to see her that way. But, that's probably just another case of the writers not knowing what to do.

-- I want a whole episode that features Jenny and Alice is there 80's prom outfits.

-- RS, did you question Icky Chicken's authourity or something? Is that why Helena has been neutered this season?

-- Even though Dana was bitchy to Lara, I'm still not buying the s/l that Lara just up and left. It was a cheap plot device to get Dana and Al to hang out again.

-- Tina. Ok, I was one of the people who was actually interested in this storyline. I actually thought it could've provided some insight into Tina, but that went out the window when Tina decided she wanted to fuck Ol' Hank the second she met him. Since they had just done the pregnancy story line, I'm guessing they didn't want to go there again, which means hiding the fact that JB's pregnant. I doubt it was contractual; you can't have a character who isn't pregnant on the show look pregnant. That "you're eating your pain, I can't see that you're pregnant" trick didn't work the first time around. :)

A friend of mine finds it amazing that they would take the sexiest character (at least, this season) and make her a dork (Helena). I agree. They have made her into a dork.
I agree that the best chemistry on this show routinely gets tossed. Is it an addiction to drama, or tone-deafness? Discuss.

Also, who wants to write the next scene that is disguised as a scene but is actually a PSA? Never mind, I'll do it.

Eve Ensler's character: You know, Jenny, studies show that people who cut themselves are actually harming themselves.

I totally agree that there couldn't be another pregnancy storyline, so they have had to take great pains to hide her belly which means no full body love scenes. Still, though, not even some hot, panting kissing with Senator DD? Can't Bette get a "do over" on Senator DD now that Tina is swapping love sauce with Henry? Ugh, threw up my mouth a little on that one.

Did anyone else like when Mangy was hassling Kit to marry him and Kit said that she did think that they would be together for a long time and the ever eloquent Mangy's response was "sweet!". I don't really like Mangy or he and Kit's storyline, but I thought that was kind of cute. Really immature and stupid, but cute.

Yes, when the spoilers started seeping out over the summer it was clear that sex scenes were not an option. I didn't know that it meant for EVERYONE.. heh. Okay we were tossed a quick hit Carmen lap dance, Alice and Bacula, Shane and Cherie and Helena and the blackmailgirl. Moira and Jenny do not count, (Moira and no body counts) and Tina and Bacneboy does not count in my lezzie loving book. See, JB's pregnancy screwed up everything:)

Both true and funny! I miss Senator Hotsy. I think of her every week, and pine for her a little. And now the Sopranos are coming back, and I care less and less.

I saw a promo for Sarah Shahi's new show Teachers. The first thought I had was 'She is going to be huge'. Even if the show doesn't make it I think this mainstream attention will open her up to a lot more things, she truly is one of the most beautiful women on TV.

SS's new show looks funny. It's in a good timeslot after Scrubs. It could be a hit like The Office if marketed correctly. Even if the show bombs I could see her getting another show immediately afterward.

It is back! Yay it is back. I never realized how addicted to this board I was till it was down all yesterday. Twop is my crack! And a new thread and already on page 4. I love it. Haha.

NBC is really pimping "Teachers." I have seen the commercial like times now. It looks funny and SS is stunning. Her character is snarky like Carmen too, only this time as a straight teacher. I expect good things to come to SS in the near future.

Erin's podcast was sad. It is nice to finally know how it all went down. IC you are lame.

Anyone else get the feeling that the cast/crew were a little shocked that S4 was picked up and that this season is getting so much buzz. I don't know. This season make me think IC thought it was done.

I had a sinking feeling when the renewal was so long in coming that S3 would be the end. Then---the ratings "explosion"??? Interesting thing happened in Dec/05 - CBS separated from Viacom and took Showtime with it. One thing I noticed all this year (unlike past years) that for the first time I saw TLW promoted on other cable channels- it may have been just my cable provider but on TNT (especially) and a few others, Charter has been pushing the hell out of Showtime on Demand and Showtime. The add totally highlights L-Word.
