I went for the "free at last!" option. Charmed is the only show I watch that has been able to abuse and keep me for so long. So long, bastards.
PS: Is there inny way we can stop the boards from being relagated into one thread? Because I think I'll miss them more than the actual show.

I think it's sad. They should have gone out with last season's bang (the finale, that is). Instead, they're going out with a poop.

I've only watched this show in reruns on TNT (rarely I might add). I've only been in this forum a few times, not a devotee for sure.
Regardless, even I know Demian must have been ecstatic, possibly orgasmic, when this news broke.
By the way, I picked "HOORAY!".

So, the burning question of the hour isn't "How will this end" instead, it's "Who one the dead pool?".
It's so, so sad that I'll be at DLA2 and miss the finale. *weepscrocodiletears*

It's going to be very, very strange come September. For the last 5 years, I have spent it pouring over spoilers and getting myself excited for the premieres. I agree with others when I say that I'm going to miss the forums way more than the show but.
It's been a (semi) great 8 years, and I'm sure everyone will agree it has definitely impacted our lives. Whether it's in a good or a bad way, I don't know. I do that I will miss it, regardless of everything Kerns out us through the past 2 years.

In Your Face Kern! He had the chance to make this last season a good one. He could have had the sisters not only accept their lives as witches, but finally embrace it, and maybe even enjoy it. He could have made them all likable characters, and not the whiny, selfish, self-centred, miserable characters we see today.
Instead he chose to put his continued employment above the quality of the show, and that's how we ended up with the crapfest that was the Billie Show. Billie had all the powers, in fact she is the Ultimate Power. Billie had the enthusiasm and usually saved the day. It. Was. All. About. Billie.
I was never obsessed with this show until Season 6. Up until then I enjoyed it, but I became obsessed with it when Chris appeared. I watched Season 7, and have barely tolerated Season 8. My older son, who had watched the earlier seasons with me, gave up after Season 6, and my 11 year old, who had only started watching in Season 6, could not watch Season 8 because he said the show was boring and stupid.
I found TWoP when searching for spoilers for Season 6, and have really enjoyed being a part of this place. Being 44 years old, the internet was a new fandangled contraption for me, and being part of a message board was really a life changing experience. I didn't even know these places existed.
Thank you to everyone for all the great discussions, and especially thanks to Demian for all your recaps and for keeping this place interesting and entertaining. I hope you all enjoy your freedom from this show.
My husband is especially pleased. As the Programmer for the TEN Network in Australia, he was committed to buying Charmed as part of his Paramount Deal. He will now save a lot of money, which he will be able to put to much better use.

Official Announcemet:
'Charmed' a Casualty of WB-UPN Change
By Associated Press
NEW YORK - The spell is broken. The witches on "Charmed" won't be making the move when the WB network combines forces with UPN to become the CW network in the fall.
A WB spokesman confirmed a TV Guide report on Friday that said the supernatural series, which stars Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs, will end after eight seasons in May.
With "7th Heaven" having already announced its exit, it means that two WB long-running series won't move to the CW. The WB and UPN will both shut down in September.
The final episode of "Charmed" will air on May 21, TV Guide said.
"It's been a hell of a run," Brad Kern, executive producer, told the magazine. "But all good things must come to an end."

I voted for the TWoP Staff option, because I could, and because it's true. Also, because I finally brought myself to watch another episode to support Demian (only my third this season, because I'm not that supportive) and the cancellation announcement is the only thing that saved my sanity after learning that the Retarded Bimbo is the ultimate power or whatever. Yay, D.!
"But all good things must come to an end."
That's true. But this makes up for those.

I picked free at last. I'm stuck in my obligation to mod another Charmed board as a favor to someone who has done a lot for me, and sometimes it's torture. I don't even watch the show anymore.
So now, come May, I'll be FREE! FREE AT LAST! FREE AT LAST!
And I'm seriously doubting there's a chance for a spin off, to be honest, but the campaign for one will continue until May or June.

Also voted for IN YOUR FACE, KERN! BWAHAHA! Now, i agree with everyone that says they will miss this board and Demian's awesome recaps so much more than the abomination this show has become. Still, i've been watching Charmed from the very beginning, and in the end will be strange to see it go. Nothing that can crap on my happyness, though. FREE AT LAST, and FUCK YA, KERN! Never get near another TV show ever again.

Well, I'll miss it. I think another poll should be started asking which actress will have the best post Charmed career(TV or movies)?
I'm guessing that by this time next year, E! will have aired "Charmed: The E! True Hollywood Story", if so will anyone watch?

To add my two cents worth regarding the girls careers after Charmed....
HMC will garden, ride her horses, and frolic around her cool digs with Finley--bilssfully happy to be free from the Shackles of Charmed and never act again...
Alyssa will continue to date one pro ball player after another, (hey who can blame her) and in a few years join the cast of some 30-something melrose/sex and the city show....
Rose will twitch her way through a few more mini-series specials, doing nothing fantastic but enjoying being rich, fabulous and hot in various European clubs.
topic? WE'RE FREE!!!...um,....yay...?

I wouldn't be in the least suprised if Holly finds herself another show too, eventually. She's worked in television most of her life.

I was torn between HA! IN YOUR FACE, KERN! and Free at last! but went with
HA! IN YOUR FACE, KERN! because of the sadistic pleasure I get at imagining the look on Kern's face when he got the news.
I just hope all the loose ends are tied up, but knowing who writes this show, I think it would be better to pretend this season never existed.
I'm going to miss this board more than the show. I've been reading it for a few years but only started posting a few months ago and I never fail to laugh out loud every time I visit. I cant imagine how elated Demian is right now - party at yours tonight??

I doubt it. I don't think she'll retire so young. She'll find some other work at some point. She certainly has the talent.

Mar 4, 2006 @ 8:20 pm
Or maybe she'll pop out six more kids. Lord knows she's got the nest egg to put a small army through college. But that's not saying she can't do both; look at Reese Witherspoon and other actresses who are also moms.
The point is all three actresses have made a truckload of money from this show. Hell, even Shannen got rich from this show.
Hopefully none of them will turn out like Farrah and shove all their money up their nose.
