I am so excited about seeing Ivanka on TA - I just had to give her a thread.
Did anyone see the documentary "Born Rich" done by an heir to Johnson & Johnson? I think his name was Jay Johnson.
Ivanka was featured in the documentary and came off as an incredibly balanced and non-spoiled girl. Both her privileged upbringing ($$) and her misfortune to have an ass-hat for a father seem to have not hurt her. Compared to some of the psychological train wrecks in that movie, she was a star. She stated that her parents had carefully raised her without a lot of free money and she expected to work her way into earning a place in the business world.
I highly recommend the documentary if you haven't seen it.
Anyway - bring on the mini-Trump!

I did see the documentary and I agree with your assessment of Ivanka in it. That's why I think we should change the name of her thread. "The Donald" does not belong in it because she is hopefully different from him.

Yeah, I saw that documentary. She was the only one not willing to dis her parents and came off without one whit of self-loathing. I agree that she came off as much more mature and businesslike (if also a teeny bit pretentious, with the overly mannered accent) than any of the other kids in that documentary, who seemed like nutcases. I remember vividly her childhood room, shown in the movie, which looked like any girl's room but was on, like, the 450th floor or something.

She, along with Don Jr. and Trump's other son Eric all inherited a large sum of money from Trump's father when he died. It was in the millions-not sure if it was in the low or high millions. Ivanka is truly beautiful and serious about the business world.

I've decided to think of her as Carolyn Jr., which only adds to my admiration for her. And no, you cannot make me think of how that could be a genetic reality! Ewwww!!

Now, could I call him Ray? (Sorry.)

Ivanka has the most magnificent skin I have ever seen. Not sure if that's "camera tricks" or high-end cosmetics or just good genes (yikes) but her skin positively glowed tonight.
She seems articulate and thoughtful. I would guess that she earned her way into (and through) school rather than just having it all handed to her.
I look forward to seeing more of her.

She tends to wear this constant look of panic on her face. Maybe having Trump as a father can do that to a person.

Yikes. Would it be wrong for me to admit that I find her hotter then most of the contestants this season? And even hotter then most of the contestants from past seasons?
With that out of the way, I do like her as a NotCarolyn. She seems very smart, and actually has emotion (sorry, Alexis). I can't wait till she's NotCarolyn again.

I miss Carolyn. That said, I can live with Ivanka on the show for a while.

Amazing that someone could still look stunning in such a hideous outfit (at the beginning, when Trump was talking to the candidates and telling them what the task would be).

I thought Ivanka did great tonight. Her assessment of Pepi was thoughtful and very professional, and I think it truly represented the famous catch phrase: it's not personal, it's business. Carolyn, on the other hand, is a lot more personal (aka bitchy) - IMO. I am looking forward to seing more of Ivanka on the show.

I think some of that problem may be due to the fact that she had a bit much in the way of blush on her face. She looked more like she was ready for a runway than the boardroom. If she would have just blended a bit better I think she would have looked even better. She looks beautiful and, amazingly enough, was professional and business-like. I, like many others, miss Carolyn, but she can be our Not!Carolyn anytime.

I rather liked Ivanka, but I wanted her to let go of the notion of Gillette being above bathrobes as part of an advertising campaign. If Synergy had been in those bathrobes AND at the TKTS booth, and won? Yeah, the bathrobes would've suddenly been genius.

While Ivanka did an okay job tonight, I would prefer to see Kendra. The show certainly features “boyfriend Bill” constantly, why leave out Kendra? I understand Kelly does not want to be in front of the camera, but why do we only see Bill? Kendra was hired as Trump’s apprentice, so let’s see her, not his family.

I think Bill is kept there to try and keep the original Apprentice watchers watching because they like to see someone familiar.
I was waiting for Ivanka to say something dumb or screw up...especially when she got the big intro from the Donald about doing so well in school, etc. I was surprised how articulate she was and (though it may have been partially scripted) how she could point out the exact weaknesses in the team's project. I was actually very impressed by her.

Seeing that Trump has stated that he HATED the contestants in her season, I'm not surprised that she has yet to appear. Bill on the other hand, is the connection to the first season, when the show was actually entertaining.
I always liked Ivanka and thought she did a good job here. That said, in some lighting, she looked a lot like Paris Hilton's mom.

I agree. I mean, Michael's idea of the bathrobes definitely caught some attention, but in the spirit of
The Apprentice's usual sexism, I'm surprised men
and women worn them. Why Ivanka singled Michael out, and in turn, The Donald kept calling him "terrible", I don't know.
Besides that, and the aforementioned outifts, I loved Ivanka. She was right on with her assessment of Pepi, and as everyone else has said, she was insightful and didn't seem as spiny as Carolyn. She can stay. :)

I was coming here to how beautiful Ivanka's tweed suit was! I thought it was two sizes too small, but definitely something that I would wear if I was wealthy. Has anyone noticed any dental malformities on her, or is it just my TV?

Ivanka's wardrobe is such a relief from Carolyn's bland 1990s one size too big minimalist/masculine attire. It's great to see that a woman in business doesn't have to pretend she's not a woman.

There was an article I read some years back, when Ivanka was a sophomore at Georgetown University. (Before she transferred to Wharton to finish up.)
She shared a normal dorm room with 2 other girls. They showed the picture of her in the dorm room, and she was just very normal and nice. I think the girl has a good and strong head on her shoulders, to be not so effected by her parents and their lifestyles.
So I wasn't too surprised to see last night that she is poised and intelligent.
I think she's also gorgeous. Anyway, hope to see more of her!!

I thought at the actual firing that Ivanka had a moment of somewhat taken aback to be present when someone was actually fired (I doubt she's been through that many times before in her life) It was like she realized that she was showing that emotion and then re-schooled her face.
I found her to be very well-spoken (as is Donald Jr when I've seen him interviewed) and had great opinions. I wouldn't doubt that Daddy spent lots of money on elocution lessons for all of his kids considering that Donald seems to be schooled as well.
As Not-Carolyn, I think her first foray into the Apprentice World was quite successful!

She has definately grown in both maturity and comfort on TV.
The Miss USA pagent days with Marla (ex-step mommy) were
pretty bad.
I thought Trump was past his neopotism days, but guess not.
I wonder what the older contestants think of his daughter critiqueing
them when she has never a "real" job or worked from scratch
in business.

Her lines in the last episode just struck me as being canned, or she was just reading off the notes she had taken before the boardroom. Maybe it is good that she is taking that approach due to her overall lack of experience- but I enjoyed seeing the interaction Carolyn and George had with the candidates.

Well that would depend on where you are wearing the “attire“. Carolyn always looks like the professional, high level manager that she is. Ivanka’s suit that was cut down to her naval was perfect for Vegas, but would be a catalyst for coworkers/supervisors in the real world to treat her like a bimbo twit. Granted she works for Daddy, so she doesn’t play by the rules most women are required to follow. Women who want to be taken seriously don’t dress like a high priced call girl.

I saw an interview with Ivanka on TV, sorry I can't remember what show as I came in after it started and she said that when she went to work for Trump, her father said to her, "Don't make mistakes or else I will fire you like a dog." She wasn't upset about it at all but she did say those were his exact words to her. She said she is a "true apprentice" and is learning. Did anyone else see the show (interview)?

Word to everyone who said she was the most normal person in
Rich Kids. Part of me wonders if she just had the benefit of incredibly media-savvy parents who could give her interview tips, whereas the other kids and their parents are so swathed in wealth and privacy that they had no idea how they'd come off so horribly. But I did notice she was just about the only one (except for filmmaker Jamie Johnson himself, and maybe the daughter of the golfer) who spoke warmly about her parents. And not from a place of abject loathing and/or fear. And she was really cute talking about how she liked Erector Sets and playing with blocks more than dolls when she was a kid.
And I think Ivanka is totally a Fuck You to Martha Stewart.
Nice quote from the
Daily News:
Daddy may have dated bimbos and married a model, but, by Trump, he raised a businesswoman.

Indeed, she came off as one of the best in Born Rich. I also have vivid memories of her bedroom. She just seemed normal showing it around, and the only difference was the location. She also expressed a strong desire to be in real estate and business which impressed me. I think she had a nice first viceroy appearance. She has a head on her shoulders which makes her anomalous seeing who her parents are.
Trump was on Ellen and said that she was going to on six times this season. So we'll be expecting more from her this season.

I declare that Ivanka is a star! And, I will predict that we will see as much footage of her as the producers can scrounge up. I will further predict that she gets a major role in the next Apprentice or her own spin off. She's so incredibly likeable. To me, her best feature is her sincerity. She may be selling bullshit, but, so far, I'm buying it.

Here's an article about the three older Trump children that sheds some light on how they turned out as well as they did (mostly due to good housekeepers/nannys, private schools, being expected to work--and having very caring grandparents on both sides).

Holy camole, she's gorgeous. I'm a 0 on the Kinsey Scale, but I just can't take my eyes off of her. I don't know what was up with that strange navy-and-white suit thing at the beginning, but lord, that's a lovely, smart, successful head she's got on her shoulders. God, I sound like the most shallow person alive. Sorry.
