Didn't see a topic started yet...hope I'm not messing this up!
It feels so good to hear Phil say "race around the world" again!
Early feelings about the teams:
Like:
BJ & Tyler
Ray & Yolanda
Wanda & Desiree
Dislike:
Lake & Michelle
Lisa & Joni
David & Lori
Eric & Jeremy
Undecided:
Dani & Danielle
Joseph & Monica
Fran & Barry
It's promising that, of the dislike list, I only have strong feelings about Lake. Once some of the others get used to the race and (hopefully) calm down a bit, I think I could warm to them a bit more.
Bye bye, John & Scott. John kinda bugged me, but damn, I'd settle for it over the screechy sisters. They make Gretchen's voice sound dulcet in comparison. Oy!

It's love at first sight: I want the Nerds (Dave and Lori) to win!
Rule number 1: Read the clue. All the way through. Dumbass. Good thing it's only "partially" your fault.
Dadgummit!
Did Joseph really call Lake "Scott Peterson"? BWAH!
Poor glamazons. Not. If sitting in Sao Paulo traffic (oooh! smells like fart!) is enough to get you defensive,
then it's time to call it a day now and head out for sequesterville.
Why in the heck did Fran and Barry pick the motorcycle? Why did anyone other than Lake?
Is Lake really going to show the couple how to build it? Well, not so much. Shouldn't promise shit like that, dude.
But they were dumb to stand around hoping he was going to build it for them, too. So Bald Snark it already and stop
whining about elimination. Arrghh!
Man I want those frosties to leave already. I did laugh at "wrap a big turd". You can tell that they are at
least somewhat familiar with the show. :P But damn, the Bowling Moms just called and said to stop screaming already.
I want people to stop saying "oh we're last" "oh we're eliminated" "oh we're done" oh whatever. Just stop. To me,
that is Flo Lite.
YAY somebody other than Lake built a bike! Yolanda is my hero for not letting all those ogling guys keep her from
completing her task. I hope Ray appreciates how she rocked.
"Let's pray!" "Jesus, just don't let us be out." Now that's the spirit!
Impressed that the old couple got ahead of the Pinks even though the Pinks bald snarked the detour way earlier (or did they?)
I'm kinda tired of alpha male teams but I get a good vibe off the first place team so far. Almost Linz-esque.
Poop! My nerds would have been third! But damn I love them. Compare their interaction with, oh gee, either of
the alpha man / blonde woman teams. No contest.
Anybody getting a he who must not be named vibe off "Scott Peterson" (aka Lake)? Or am I just over sensitive to the wife-berating?
Close finishes between the last 2 teams rock. I don't think I'm alone on this. But please, frosties, no more with
the "oh my GAAAWWWWWD!" I beg you.
Buh-bye, John and Scott. I guess that "sad loser" music bed earlier in the helicopter was prescient after all.
The best part of the whole night was seeing teams who genuinely wanted to be there and who enjoyed the experience of being in the race. Even the screechy frosties didn't really want to be last. It's about time.
MY SHOW IS BACK!!!!!
Next week: remind me again why people who have a fear of heights sign up for this show?

Looks like Genie power didn't work! But that's ok, because they ripped that closet open wide!
As for the racers:
I'm loving the hippy guys (BJ and Tyler) so far, even though they have the potential to get on my last nerve if they stay on their manic cycle throughout the whole game.
Wanda and Desiree - the latino mother and daughter -are also really really lovely. I loved how the daughter got all starry eyed at flying over Sao Paulo and how she's able to calm her mother down.
And the kissy-kissy geeky couple, because well, geeks rule!!
I was liking the old couple until they flaked out on the bridge. Um, hello? I wonder how many times they walked by the clue box?
And the Glamazons need to TONE! IT! DOWN! Just a little bit. Phil looked a little scared...
And holy crap, did one team call the southern guy (Lake?) "Scott Peterson?" Because if they did really? Perfecto.

Oh well. It’s not so much that I wanted Lisa and Joni to lose, as much as I wanted them to get decapitated by a helicopter rotor. Maybe next week.

When one of the Frosties said, “Please Jesus don’t let us be out.”...I thought, “Oh Shit, she’s channeling Ma Weaver.”
Yay, my TAR is back!
And Phil in the leather jacket and jeans? H.O.T.N.E.S.S. I missed you, Phil!

Was that an unbleeped "Holy shit" from Eric or Jeremy at the finish line?
My TAR is back! Lake and Michelle were the only ones I really disliked too.

RAAAAAAAAACE!
Aroundtheworld
Welcome back show!
Wow, there was a high level of incompetence on display tonight. I especially couldn’t believe Fran and Barry’s inability to find the clue box on the bridge. “I don’t think it was there earlier?” Ya, ok guys.
My favourites thus far:
Dave and Lori: I love the nerds! I don’t find them to be obnoxious at all, and they seem to share some genuine affection for each other. SO happy they were in the front of the pack. Hopefully that bodes well for them.
BJ and Tyler: I like the hippies, and they seem like they will be competent racers. They mug MAJORLY for the camera, but I like their interaction and they seem to be having fun with the race, which I always love to see. I hope you continue to enjoy the powerful “substance” that is the race.
Desiree and Wanda: Momily Part Deux? I like this team so far, and I was pleasantly surprised to see them race well.
MoJo: Yes they nicknamed themselves. Yes they will probably have a mental breakdown sometime. But Like Team Cockroach before them, I kind of have a spot saved for this team. Plus Joseph gave one of the best lines of the night regarding Lake: “There goes Scott Peterson.” I am a bad, bad person but that made me guffaw. I also kind of snerked when they said BJ and Tyler must be off their pot.
Speaking of… I HATE Lake. HATE HATE HATE. Ray and Jonathan saved a spot for you on the Couch of “Intensity,” asshole.
I haven’t seen enough of Ray and Yolanda, but I think I like them. As for Double D’s and The (NOT) Frat Boys, just ew.
I was REALLY surprised at how poorly Fran and Barry raced, and I hated how they just stood around at the motorcycle shop. Not good guys. I expected more from them.
I couldn’t have cared less which of the last two teams got eliminated. The Glamazons were too screamy (loved Phil’s grimace at the Pit Stop) and had really bad sense of direction (REALLY bad), and the Ambiguously Gay Duo were just… weird. “I like him no more than a brother” what the fuck is that? Weird relationship. I predicated they would be eliminated at the beginning of the episode… so there you go.
I thought the detour was well planned… didn’t make the helicopter option seem too easy. Genuinely suspensful episode. WOOOOO SHOW.

Welcome back, 11-teams-of-2, non-family TAR! Transportation to other continents! Tasks that actually require DOING something! Contestants whose names I can actually remember 5 minutes after the show ends!
Love:
Dave & Lori and BJ & Tyler - Soooo cute and funny and functional!
Wanda & Desiree - Will this be the season we finally get an all-female team across the finish line? These two are certainly looking promising to me!
Like:
Ray & Yolanda - didn't see much of them, but they seem to like each other and have a good sense of humor. I loved how she just ignored the whistling and jeers at the Detour, and I especially liked that she didn't expect Ray do something about it.
Team Double-D - They seem nice and having fun and don't get rattled easily yet, and I LOVED them snarking on Jeremy & Eric leaving the Hotel Unique. The only problem with them right now is telling them apart, and having the same name ain't helping. I didn't like that they switched Detours - don't do that again, girls. Although that seemed to be an extremely hard Detour - no instructions with crappy parts? I think I would have quit too.
Meh:
Lake & Michelle - Loathed them at first, but his intensity doesn't seem nearly as bad-natured as Jonathan, Colin, and Wil - it seems more directed at doing the tasks than the other racers and I didn't find him scary in a violent way at all. She needs to get off his case, though. I may wind up liking these two.
Barry & Fran - He's adorable, she's Flo 50 years from now. Yeah, Fran, they deliberately moved the clue box around just to make you miserable. Shaddup.
Dislike:
Glamazons - I was grinding my teeth just typing their nickname, and way to judge a culture based on their TRAFFIC. Loved the swearing mixed in with the "Jesus"es and "Oh my God"s at the airport, but other than that, one is too cowardly and they both shriek too damn much. And, they committed the one thing that annoys me more than anything else on reality shows: praying for divine intervention - gah.
Joseph & Monica - He's a big old ball o' personality so far, and they only time they seem to be enjoying themselves are when things are going right, otherwise they're both assholes. The cabbie is doing his best, you creeps, so leave him alone.
John & Scott - Scott seems nice, but he's blander than cold mashed potatoes, and John needs one HELL of a slap in the face. What a drama queen. Won't miss them AT ALL.
HATE: Jeremy & Eric - Smug, arrogant assholes. Like Chris & Alex turned up a few hundred notches minus any semblance of charm. Guys, you aren't that cute and you aren't that smart and you aren't that special. And, ewwww on the nipple rings. Boo on the $20,000 reward, too.

First off, I would just like to say, that speaking as a 6 foot tall, ‘big boned’ woman - from Texas to boot - that those two ladies, Lisa, Joni, Glamazons, Frosties, whatever the hell you want to call them, in no way, shape or form speak for me, represent me, or have anything to do with me. For one thing, I do not make it a habit of discussing my underwear, and what bodily functions I may be performing in said underwear. I rarely screech. I do not thank God and/or Jesus for routine things. And, I am not an idiot.
I just felt that needed to be said.
Ahem. So, I don’t know if I’m going to hate or love the Hippies, because I got distracted by the peach tuxedo shirt. Because a very good friend of mine has a shirt just like it that he used to wear at parties. In college. 10 years ago. I never, ever thought I would see that shirt again.
I loved watching them all ride in the helicopters. My mom and I went on a short tour of the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas last year, and it really IS that cool. The motorcycle detour sucked, though. I can’t believe they didn’t even give them any kind of directions. I call bullshit.
I’m all about Lori/Dave and Wanda/Desiree. I’m rooting hard for them. Lake can shut it. He lost me with the “The black girl is beating you” or some such nonsense at the airport. And Phil totally thought to himself “God, damn, I have another Jonathan on my hands” at the pit stop. Hate!
I feel as though I’m supposed to hate Eric and Jeremy, and yet I don’t. They say thank you to people a lot. They seem to have a sense of humor. I’m all right with them. But, it’s early, I’m sure that will fade.
Everyone else is meh. The race? Is not. Woo Hoo!!
Hmm..the guy on the team that lost tonight faced his fear of flying, their story had its happy ending, and they were eliminated. Is it too much to hope that one of the Dani chicks next week faces her fear of heights, her story has a happy ending, and they are eliminated? Here’s hoping!

Boy, did that feel great or what! TAR is back in Yellow and "Red" and it felt like I was at the finale. Great stuff, good times.
Can't stand Lisa/Joni, but I'm glad they beat John/Scott. After the Godlewskis'.
Loving the Double Dees, Monica, and Desiree. Especially the Double Dees. If patterns come into play, they're winning this race.

I think we are off to a roaring start. If nothing else, whoever coined the name "Scott Peterson" for Lake has made my season - and I don't particularly dislike Lake. He's enthusiastic. And my husband thinks Lake might be a smoker the way he was chomping gum and wearing patches.
I like BJ and Tyler and the nerdy couple might be my early favorites. Hooray for geek love!

I liked that they couldn't reserve the flight via phone, forces them to scramble at the airport.

My baby's back!
Early favorites:
- Dave and Lori, I want to marry both of you
- BJ and Tyler, holy smokes! Hot dog!
- Yolanda's legs (Not in the leering way that the men of Sao Paolo do, however)
- the Amazing Editors, for showing us the Frosties effing BEDAZZLING in their effing TIARAS
Early hatred:
- Joseph and Monica of the "intense" passing and those insufferable "MoJo" shirts
- Lake and Michelle: I'm a fan of anyone who can successfully use the work "dagnumit!", but if you ask one more stranger where the blacks are, I'm calling shenanigans (unless you're asking after The Black Family. I love you, Black Family!)
- Eric and Jeremy: calling female teams "bitches" just because they're ahead of you is just plain classless. And "What did we win, Phil?" Doubly classless. And double nipple rings? Seriously? WTF?
Teams I want to love but can't yet:
- Fran and Barry: walking past the cluebox that blindly is hard to forgive. And Fran, honey, QUIT YER BELLYACHIN'!
- Team Boricua: the mother bugs, the daughter's adorable
- Frosties: for the love of god, LESS SCREAMING, MORE RACING!

I am so in love with the nerds, I want to move to Manhattan, KS and just hang out with them.
My secondary favorites are Ray and Yolanda (and Yolanda looks exactly like a grown-up version of a charming girl in Mad Hot Ballroom). And whoever called Lake "Scott Peterson" has earned my admiration in a major way. The orange-shirted "hippie" also pinged my Luke Wilson radar, which is always, always a good thing. (Though I think it might just be the ruffled shirt and shades a la The Royal Tenenbaums.)
The last few minutes I was just hoping that there could be a double elimination.
Oh my god, Franz. My eyes, my eyes!

The Glamazons need to go away. Now. And if they can take the Double D's and the Frat Boys with them, more the better.
Loving Wanda and Desiree, though Desiree doesn't look older than 15. David and Lori are too cute, and, oddly enough, BJ and Tyler aren't too annoying. Yet. The rest of the teams - not enough info to make good identifications.

Idon't know if it's because it's coming fresh off of that family crud, but this season seems so promising.
Tonight had so many great moments, I won't even try to name them all.
I really like BJ and Tyler, and Team Boricua. Also I surprisingly like Eric and Jeremy.

I'm liking BJ and the Bear, and Team MoJo
Not caring for the Glamazons, and I'm sure none of those pilots wanted to take them off the ground.
I don't like the giggling pink trollops... not at all.

Ah Phil and your cozy turtleneck. How I missed you! (muah) Unfortunately, it seemed that you injured your eyebrow after last season's pop where you were calling out to alien overloads. Let me kiss that better...after you calm down over Yolanda's legs.
I had such high hopes for Fran and Barry, but missing the box THAT many times (and no Fran, it didn't just appear out of nowhere) and not bailing on the Detour sooner almost cost them. I certainly hope they learned from that leg.
As for the Frosties...."EEEEEE!" "EEEEEEE!" "I PEED IN MY PANTS!" We have passed the point of TMI and have landed on "ew."
It must be a good day because I called title and first place for Whimsy (Go me!) What did I not call: "What do we get, Philly?" Philly?! Oh HELL to the NAW! You may address him as Phil, Phliminator, Eyebrow Porn Guy or for some women here, some incoherent gushy babbling. But Philly? You move to the hate group.
Lake=Scott Peterson. BEST. NICKNAME. EVER.
As much as I could wish to feel some sympathy for John and Scott, I really can't. John is too whiny and two hours alone gave me a headache. That said, I would have them back to avoid more "EEEEEE!" When you scare the host, you scare me.
I may have more later but ladies and gentlemen, our show is back. Can I get an Amen?

So far the nerds win. Everyone else is meh or just not worth my time. My biggest hate-on is reserved for the first 2 placed teams and the last two placed teams (the alpha males, hippies, screaching howler monkeys and Stuart Smalley and his best friend).

Feb 28, 2006 @ 11:05 pm
Did I hear Eric and Jeremy refer to Lake as Scott Peterson? Because if so, I can definitely see the resemblence.
I don't know if I'm sad to see Scott and John go. I do think that they were the comic relief of the episode, but I'm enjoying Lisa and Loni. They scream, they're obnoxious, they pray a lot...but I can handle them, for now.
Back to Lake, did I hear him refer to Yolanda and Ray as the blacks? I'm all about not sticking to political correct terms, but the way he said it just seemed so condescending. Might as well have called them negroes.
I will say that when Lake told Ray his name by saying, "Lake, like the ocean," and Ray responded, "Ray, like the sun," I had to start liking Ray. Mostly because I hate Lake, but partly because Ray had a witty comeback.
It's terrific to see The Real Amazing Race back. How I've missed it.
ETA: I'm enjoying the Double Ds, and that nickname is a classic (because...yowza). And surprisingly enough, I don't mind Eric and Jeremy. Dave and Lori, while I don't hate, are a little too nerdy for my liking.

Yes and yes. Major love for her for that.

You know, watching tonight's episode, I came to the realization that the real nerds on this race are not Dave and Lori. They are Eric and Jeremy. They called Dani and Danielle "Pinky" (yeah, I know they were wearing those Vicky's Secret tops) and said so many other dorky things. Eric and Jeremy are the nerds.
I can't stand Lake right now. Can. Not. Stand him. The fact that he felt the need to constantly refer to Yolanda and Ray as the "black woman" or the "black man," even after he was told their names, was stupid (I can't think of another word to desribe it). I did laugh, though, when Ray and Yolanda introduced themselves. First off the, "Lake, like ocean?" explanation followed by the "Ray, like sun." Hee.
BJ and Tyler? Me likey.

Feb 28, 2006 @ 11:06 pm
HOLY SHIT. Those frakkin Frosties. I may kill myself. For the love of all that's holy, please let them be gone next week.
I like the Nerds (I haven't seen that much kissing since Kris and John), BJ and Tyler, and against my better judgement, Monica and Joseph -- mostly because they look like Reese Witherspoon and Jude Law. I'm a sucker for beautiful people.
Of course I hate Lake and Michelle for obvious reasons.
And, why oh why do all the oldsters talk about their supreme mental powers -- while making boobish mistakes (walking by the clue box for like 45 minutes, thinking they could put together a motorcycle..) ?
I understand that Phil is hot for Yolanda's legs -- they kind of scared me. Those are some muscular stems.

Welcome back TAR!
Lake's a charmer, eh? He doesn't read the clue and graciously accepts "partial" responsibility....for something that is entirely his fault. Jonthan Lite. Blech.
Hate The Frat Guys, cannot imagine putting up with those dinks for an entire season.
I'm sure they will work my last nerve fairly soon but for now, I find the Dating/Nerds somewhat endearing, him more than her, it's that incredibly dorky laugh of his I think.
Hope the Frosties are gone soon, I had enough shrieking from the GobbleGooski's last season to last a lifetime.
- Eric and Jeremy: calling female teams "bitches"
Sadly, I think they called the Dani's "ho's" not bitches. They're dreamy. <retch>

Yeah, I agree that Eric/Jeremy are smug, but I still enjoy them and they are funny as hell. The 10 Large prize was inevitable, but they did well.
However, as for others, I really don't care for Lake/Michelle, but meh on BJ/Tyler, but they're great racers so far.

Oh Phil How I have missed your eyebrow popping!
Oh Nations around the world, how I have missed visiting you!
Oh Teams, How I have missed there only being two of you in one!
Like:
Ray & Yolanda (I loved the comment about the taxi driver)
Wanda & Desiree (Desiree is adorable!)
David & Lori (I love nerds, ok?)
Joseph & Monica (Her tendency to get all giddy could be endearing or in 5 weeks time- annoying)
Fran & Barry (very sweet couple)
Dislike:
Lake & Michelle (oh, dear)
BJ & Tyler ("let's act wild and crazy... right now.. oh look at us!")
Lisa & Joni ("unsheath my womanhood"??? Please put that away)
Undecided:
Dani & Danielle (they go back and forth in my mind)
Eric & Jeremy ("We don't wanna work... we wanna play with their boobs all day") but could end up ok.
Ahh nice to be home.

Feb 28, 2006 @ 11:06 pm
I can't stand the screechy sisters and the one sister's need to constantly talk about peeing her pants. Of course you are. You're over 50. Try some Detrol LA and get over it!
Lake: "Partially my fault." PARTIALLY!!!??? Totally jackass.
Lake: "Lake, like the ocean." WHAT?
I love the in third nerds. And Ray and Yolanda.
And I don't mind the Dani girls. Mojo grew on me (they seem a bit bipolar).
I'm glad John got over the flying thing. But wouldn't he have flown to LA from RI? And then to CO from RI or LA? So he'd flown more than once in the past eight weeks, let alone in the past 10 years.
Again the "we'll win with our brains" oldsters seemed to be running on empty from the get go.
And I sympathize with them all on the breathing in Denver thing. I had trouble with that and headaches the first two days I was there.
Sao Paolo everyone. Not San Paolo.
And as much as I extremely hate Lake, surely no one should be expecting anyone's help with a task at any point, let alone when they all are pretty sure they're not in the front of the pack.
I'm not sure yet if I like or don't like the hippies. I think the beach bums from Florida may be even more over the top in expressiveness.

Feb 28, 2006 @ 11:07 pm
The Glamazons were an odd mix of Ma Weaver (Oh Gawd!) and the Godlewski sisters with the screeching. Between the awful comments that they had made and the ignorance, ("There's no taxi!" - Flag one!) I am hoping they get Philiminated soon.
Loving Wanda and Desiree. And Ray and Yolanda keeping their cool despite the leers and jeers? Awesome.

It’s BAAACK! Yes, and I can finally get that bad taste called the Weavers out of my mouth. I think this group of teams have watched this show, they already have nicknames, even for themselves. We’ve got the Glamazons?, and of course the Nerds, who remind of that Bill Murray/Gilda Radner skit from SNL, what was that Lisa Lubner or something?
Dadgummit. Surprise, another dominant male screws up by not reading the clue. No smiles for the dentist at this point. I think we’ve found our new Jonathon. And did you hear that dude call him Scott Peterson? Whoa.
And the Beach Bums are so full of themselves. But, then they get blown off by the Pinks and passed by the Hippies. Gotta love those Hippies (I guess I’ve always had a soft spot for Potheads).
The Daughter of the Mom and Daughter seems very level headed. I hope she can keep it up, ‘cause Mama definitely needs some Xanax. As long as she isn’t invoking the name of the Lord at every turn , I guess I’m okay with it.
Nice comeback by the Oldies. And Bladder Control is this seasons screamers.

Welcome back, show! It's been too long. (Family Edition does not count. At least for me. CBS, I'll forgive you if you promise never to do it again.)
I like some teams a lot - Dave and Lori, BJ and Tyler, the mom and daughter. The others I can tolerate, or at least am willing to reserve judgment on.
Except for one team. Lori and Joni. The Glamazons. Hate, hate, hate. As they cried out to God on television, I too decided to beg God to get out of the bathtub and cause them to miss their cab, or for the taxi driver to take them to Argentina...or to the wrong ocean, just....anything. But I'm afraid that Lori and Joni prove Miss Alli's contention that during reality TV shows, God really is in the bathtub.
Sigh. Once again, two nice guys finish last.

I also admired the way Yolanda got through the Motorcycle task despite the gawking men. I don't think I would have done as well since just watching them leer filled me with rage. It reminded me of Italy where it was de rigueur for men to stare and comment with impunity. Dicks.

Seething Hate: Lake and the Glamazons
I was surprised at how much the rankings shifted throughout the leg, with DD getting to the airport first, picking up speed at the bridge, and then falling behind at the detour.
I thought I'd like Fran & Barry more, but they quickly turned into every other older couple that casting has been spitting out at us recently. Boo.
The tasks, IMO, were very ho-hum, but hopefully things will pick up next week.

They made both detour choices sound nasty, but assembling a working motorcycle? Yeah, no.
Worst reality TV decision: Going on Survivor to give up you 3 pack a day cigarette habit, or going on the Amazing Race because you're afraid of flying. Discuss.

So far, my comments:
--Monica and Joseph: Woo, pig, SOOOOOEE! Apart from that she seems a bit like Nicole or Kendra.
--BJ and Jason: Reminds me of a few friends I have that are eccentric like that. Like.
--Lake and Michelle: He seems like a NASCAR driver because of his sunglasses, apperance and general attitude. Smacks of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and Wife.
--Wanda and Desiree: Des is purdy. Other than that I like, but not only because Phil says her name "Wander"
--Eric and Jeremy: Who?
--Ray and Yolanda: Can't pass judgement...yet.
--Lisa and Joni: Yelled TOO MUCH. Seriously, TONE IT DOWN!
--John and Scott: Team Guido Redux, anyone?
--Dani and Danielle: Too early to call.
--Fran and Barry: Made too many mental errors for me to like them.
--David and Lori: Again, too early to call.

Undecided:
Dani & Danielle (they go back and forth in my mind)
Eric & Jeremy ("We don't wanna work... we wanna play with their boobs all day") but could end up ok.
Forgot about this, and also forgot about the scene between the two teams. Had I rememebered, I would've realized that Double D was safe tonight.
Love the new montage. Thank God the opening didn't change, but meh on the Elephant sound byte, that'll likely live throughout the season. I'll deal though.

That was a fun way to start the season.
Is Lake really going to show the couple how to build it? Well, not so much. Shouldn't promise shit like that, dude.
I'm not sure he promised to show them how to build it but to show them one thing (I'm going solely from memory.) Plus it was like, "What's that piece? Where's the spake plug go? What's the engine?" There's help and there's explain-it-to-me-like-I'm-four.
The hippies are totally hamming it up, but they look they've come straight out of an episode of Yacht Rock, so I don't hate them yet.
I wish the helicopter clue and the ceremony clue were trickier, it seemed like a wasted opportunity.

The orange-shirted "hippie" also pinged my Luke Wilson radar, which is always, always a good thing.
Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner. I was wondering what was so familiar about him.
And the daughter on the mother/daughter team reminds in a big way of Rachel Weisz. She's stunning.
I just have to say that I love seeing my Denver on TV. I was squealing for all 5 minutes of it :)
I was happy to see Denver, too. I loved visiting there. I remember the breathing issues, too. What a place to start the race.

I love BJ and Tyler! Love them. I love team nerd as well there so genuine and cute.
The guys who came in first place were pretty cool I expected them to be more cocky and stereotypical of the usual strong guy teams but they were pretty good.
I cannot stand the older couple. How stupid are you? I mean really the box was in front of them, have they never seen the show before?
With the exception of team nerd all the dating couples this time suck alot. The married dentist is getting on my nerves and its only the first episode. Although does he not look like Phil a little bit?
I found it creepy how his face looks like Phils except he has brown hair and is American, creepy.
So glad that team got eliminated out of all of them. The bigger, flamboyant guys face and expressions were reminding me of a cartoon character from Spongebob. He was to whiny. The other guy was alright though.
Stop screeching middle age women team! Dear lord the screeching hurt my ears there worse then the soccer moms we get every season. Oh and no one wants to know you peed yourself, gross.
The pink girls aren't horrible but not good either there just fitting into that stereotype of the young, fake pretty girls we get every season. The ones who always use their looks to get help on tasks or get stuff. Plus stop wearing pink just because your young 20 year old girls doesn't mean wearing tacky pink running suits is funny or cute, it is lame. Stop it now.
The mother and daughter team impressed me I didn't think she was her mother. She is a pretty woman as his her equally as pretty daughter its nice to have a mother daughter team for a change.
I missed you Phil and your wardrobe. Welcome back!
Edited to add comment: Okay its either BJ or Tyler but one of them is like Richie Tenebaum in The Royal Tenebaums. I think its the beard and long hair but its uncanny how much he reminds me of Richie.

While it wasn't the greatest of eps for me ("I wasn't feelin' it dawg"), one thing's for certain: this is the greatest collection of boobage the race has ever known. And not just the double D's. The dental MILF was looking tasty, Mo had a nice bounce, nerd girl has a strange and disturbing allure, hell, even Joni was looking BBW fine by the end.
But what a shrieker her and her sister are! A cross between the Gadzooskies and the Weevils. Eeeh.

Dislike:
Lake & Michelle
Lisa & Joni
David & Lori
Eric & Jeremy
I'm drawing a blank. Which one are they?

Ahhhhh.... two little phrases that I've missed so much: "race around the world" and "airline tickets."
HATE Jeremy & Eric, LOVE Team Nerd. Wanda & Desiree were my pre-race pick to be first out, so it's a nice surprise to see them still in it. Lake is no Jonathan, thank heavens, but he is plenty annoying. As are the Glamazons, even if they are doing it "for all the big-boned gals."
Did Monica really come that close to tears at the airport? Yikes, sack up, honey! And I cannot hear that stupid "Mojo" name without thinking of the silly be-hatted one from Joe Millionaire.

BJ and Tyler - can't decide yet if they remind me more of Spinal Tap members or Chris Robinson and Kate Hudson. Think I'll like them though.
