Just see this show Viking on ESPN(2). This is very intriguing show. It combines Athleticism and intelligence. If you have a chance, take a look. Its not like MXC where its one event, its several stages, but the same embarrassing falls.

I've been seeing it at 6:30 PM, but always check your local listings.

I did see quite a bit of it Thursday, before my English paper, Survivor, women's figure skating and my weekly Magic game caused me to miss the last stage - but just from the 10 seconds I saw of it, it could rival any non-gross food challenge Fear Factor could ever come up with.
The stages look so nutty - really requires upper-body strength, which I simply couldn't manage. It was very telling that out of 100 competitors, only SIX (none of which were women) made it past the first round.
Can't wait to see more.

I can't find any reference to it on tvguide.com. What day is it on, I can just find it that way.

I can't find the listings, probably it was for a limited run, but check the show out when you see it. My best guess is at the wee night

I saw it on yesterday afternoon. They had to people make it to the third course. That thing is INSANE!!! Anyone know if it has ever been completed?

I think I remember them saying that no one has ever completed the final stage of Viking and I think the third stage is the final one. I would be good at the 'identify the number' stage, but that's about it. I wish this was on regularly.

I was CRINGING when that Makoto guy didn't finish the last stage of the Viking. Literally THREE FEET from the buzzer, and time ran out on him.
Sad thing is, I can't see anyone actually beating the course anytime soon.
As for me, I can do any of the mental stages (the math, the letters, the colors) and MAYBE the running. But I have little upper body strength, so that 'VIKING' peg course? The Heartbreaker? Any rope climb?
Forget it.
Must say though - still delightfully entertaining.

I recently stumbled across a DVD with two Viking tournaments. Loved it! Does anyone know why Viking failed to find an audience in Japan when it's pretty much the Sasuke concept with the Sasuke contestants on a nicer course with a more coherent theme?
