Tonight's episode was on sex between teachers and students. I had a good laugh at Donny's naivete. He seems like such a hip guy, and in tune with society in general, so I found it hard to believe that he is really shocked that 63% of guys fantasize about sex with their teachers.

I don't know if Deanna Bobo really did have sex with the 14 year old, but it seems to me that the age of consent must be higher in the States than it is in Canada? Where I'm from, in Nova Scotia, the age of consent is 14. I can't imagine what the attraction is to a 14 year old, but presumably in my province it's not a crime for those who do. I might be misunderstanding something, though.

I can't get into this show at all.

What makes Donnie different than any other talk show host?

Last night he had Charles Barkley on. You'd think there'd be some really interesting discussions with stuff you haven't heard before. But there was nothing new or groundbreaking. You could have interchanged it with Dateline, Primetime live, 60 minutes.....etc.

Cramers mad money is much more interesting (for entertainment purposes only).

So, does Donnie have a permanent hard-on for the Teutal guys from American Choppers? I swear, it's like he has them on his show at least once a week.

Depends a lot by the state. Most states, it's 16. In California, it's actually 18. Here in Florida (which is backwards, but I digress), the age of consent is 16, as long as the other partner is under 24. If the other partner is over 24, the age of consent becomes 18. I believe most states have what they call "Romeo and Juliet" laws, in which, say, if both partners are under 19 and not more than 3-4 years apart, they're safe. Don't quote me on that, though.

Even if the student is above the age of consent, I think there are laws that make student/teacher sexual relations illegal if the student if the student is under 18. I remember a case from your country, actually, where a female teacher had an affair with her student who was 17 and actually got pregnant.

Again, I'm not sure on any of this, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Did anyone see the Project Runway folks on Donny's show? How was it?

I did. I thought it was rather dull. They used a split screen showing the reactions of the designers watching themselves in the same clips from the reunion show. Donny would ask them questions and they'd attempt interesting, thoughtful responses, but Donny would abruptly cut them off to go to commercials. The only thing new was having Nina Garcia there and getting a little feedback from her. Jay McCarroll chewed gum throughout.

Thanks VanCortlandt. I wanted to see the designers, but it's hard for me to focus on what's being said on Donny's show. I'm always busy checking out his plastic surgery, botox, and hairpiece.

I really don't like Donny, but sat thru this to see my fave designers. I don't think Donny ever let anyone finish a sentence and most of the designers didn't even utter a word. Tim Gunn didn't even really get much air time!! The clips were all rehashed from the reunion show. The little bit with Jay was new and interesting.

If there were a thread for "Shows Most Likely To End Up On The 'Shows No One Remembers But Me' Thread In Five Years", this one would be near the top of the list!

Is this show still on the air? Judging by the lack of traffic I would think not. I'll see what wiki has to say.

I've seen the show while working out at the gym. One of the guests talked about a business of baked donuts. They claimed the baked donuts only have 3 to 4 grams of fat. That perked my interest for a minute but then my time on the treadmill was over and I moved on.

This show is probably best forgotten, but I’m only resurrecting it because I recently discovered there’s a Talk Show forum (wheeee!), and . . I used to watch Donny, uh, last year – I think that’s when it was.

I first heard of Donny D. back in early ‘04 when Trump’s Apprentice show debuted. He was owner/president of a successful ad agency, and Donny (and his staff) were featured in several tasks. I kind of accidentally discovered he had a talk show on MSNBC. I enjoyed some (like the big winners of Deal or No Deal), some of the celebrities were interesting, and the entrepreneurs who had seen a need for a product or service and become rich filling that need. Then I noticed lots of rehashed, same ole same ole. He had Trump on a lot (surprise). It got tiresome. I remember flipping the channel after he had those chopper guys on for the umpteenth time.

Donny’s a nice looking guy, but seems like the type who spends too much primp time. High maintenance, fer sure. He tried too hard to be hip, and had an annoying giggle. Last I heard he sold the agency, divorced, and although I’m sure he’s doing well I have no idea what he’s up to these days.
