I called him hiring both candidates midway thru. Too bad DT got talked out of it.

HAH!
It's the APRENTICE, you guys.
I'm sorry, but Trump really shouldn't have done that. I know he wanted a twist and all, but he shouldn't have waited until 10:58. Jerk.

Heh... "apprenti".
Does that count as a shout-out?

Dec 15, 2005 @ 10:59 pm
Huh. And there goes my respect for Randal. First he was unable to make a case for himself without being a dick about her, and then he wasn't willing to share the limelight and let her get hired AS WELL, even though it wouldn't have taken a single thing away from his accomplishment. Asshole.

Man that sucked. Why did he begrudge her the job? What an asshole.

Dec 15, 2005 @ 10:59 pm
I lost respect for Randal in the last 10 minutes.
Edited to add: After tonight I consider Randal to be a worse hire than even Kelly "Windowless cubicle dweller" Purdue.
Also I *loved* Trump making Yahoo "donate" big time.

Cold. Trump wanted to hire both, but Randal spurts a statement about the whole process being a job interview for "the apprentice" and talks about job description rather than Rebecca's ability. I wanted Randal to win, but both of them winning could have been a proper decision.

Dec 15, 2005 @ 10:59 pm
Oh wowowowowowow!!
I was screaming for Randall! And I have to admit that when he asked him if he should hire Rebecca, I screamed "NO!" That seems selfish but damn... that is just the way I felt. I'd heard talk of the double hiring for some time and felt that it might take away from the victory/competition.
Hire her in a lesser role, but Randall won it fair and square.
Yay Randall!

Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:00 pm
agree -
he wanted to win and take all the glory that he didn't think on a whole for the organization - the fact that rebecca is also so great - she deserved to work form donald as well.

Why the fuck did Randal kneecap Rebecca like that? He already knows he won, did he have to spike the ball too?! Good God.

Yuck! What an ass. DT should of hired both of them anyway. It just made him look dumb to go with what Randal said.

That WAS cold, but I can't really blame him. He wanted his moment to shine. I don't think he'd have a problem with Trump hiring Rebecca at all. Just not as "The Apprentice".

How wrong of Trump to put Randal in that position. He deserves it so much more than Rebecca. I hate to agree with Alla but there is no comparison between the two. I feel sorry for Randal having to make that call, but I think he deserves to be the only apprentice.

Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:00 pm
I had no beef with Randal until he started to screw up last week. I was rooting for Rebecca but was completely okay with Randall's win....but he lost me with his parting shot. It wouldn't have taken anything away from his win if Rebecca got the job. Total dilhole in my book.
And Alla is still a bitch.
Sars
Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:00 pm
Daaaaaaaaamn. That was cold.
I seriously don't understand why Randal did that. It's not like Trump hadn't already expressed the opinion that Randal was the winner; what would it have cost him to ask Trump to hire Rebecca? What would that take away from him?
Totally lost me. I don't believe Rebecca would have pulled that on him, either.

He literally altered her future. How pathetic is that?

Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:00 pm
Damn, i was 100% Randal, but I feel bad for Rebecca. Randal already won, why not spread the success? I have a feeling his family told him to be tough and not to backdown to Rebecca.
momo
Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:00 pm
So what was the big surprise?
DT asked Randall if he should hire Rebecca as well? I don't know. This was one time where a double hire may have been warranted but I do have to agree with Randall, at the end there should be one Apprentice.
Edit: I started typing as soon as the credits rolled, and end up on Page 2? Wow!

Bottom line, Rebecca didn't raise money...no raffle, no auction...nothing. She didn't come up with a creative way to solicit funds. Go Randal!

Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:01 pm
Aw Nutz, I get what you mean, but in a strange way, I respect Randal for sticking up for himself, and taking the spotlight he's earned. He didn't say don't hire her, he said don't hire two apprenti tonight. Curious what everyone else thinks.
Dust Bunny
Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:01 pm
My guess is one of two things will happen:
1. This is the last Apprentice.
2. There is never a live show again.

Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:01 pm
Y'know, I havent seen any of the episodes this season, but I did watch this one, and I can't
believe that Trump had the gall to ask Randall to split the win. What the hell?! No one else was ever asked that question upon winning, right? God, way to take the wind out of his sail.
I think the bottom line that people lose focus of is, this is a contest. Yeah, it's pretty subjective. It's not like they're racking up "good businessperson points" that are tallied up, but how can there be two winners? Who would want to share winnings of a contest. If I were Randall, I wouldn't like my win to be tainted by having some bullshit tie. Maybe I'm just too competitive, but it's a contest, not an exercize in sharing.
I'm going to say it...I don't appreciate when Trump finally has a successful black man on the show, who clearly is leagues better than his opponent...I don't appreciate that Trump trying to slide the duty over to Randal to another person. That is just wack as hell and very transparent...now Randal's the cocky ass that didn't want to hire Rebecca.
So so true.
Siobhann
Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:01 pm
Wow, I've never gone from loving a contestant to flat-out hating so quickly. We went through all that, and at the very last minute Randal shows what kind of person he is. I would've fired him on the spot.

I was so happy for Randal. Until he became a douchebag. My stomach was in knots, that was so uncomfortable to watch.
Mediocre finale over all. It needed more cast interviews. : /

Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:01 pm
1. Alla's just fucking crazy. And mean. Did she think she was still in the running or something? MEAN.
2. Both Rebecca and Randal did their best to manage their most difficult clients. Those ice queens from Yahoo were impossible, so Rebecca managed them. That lady from Autism Speaks was impossible, so Randal focused on pleasing them. I think they both did the right thing, and the Yahoo guy donated all that cash because he realized how badly those ice queens came across.
3. I think Rebecca spoke much more respectfully of Randal than Randal spoke of Rebecca. And the fact that he refused to share the glory with her makes me love him a little less. A lot less.

Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:01 pm
Does anyone think that Yahoo giving only $100,000 was kind of skimpy? I mean, they got way more than that from the value of the advertising on The Apprentice. They should have given a million. Or at least $100,000 to EACH charity.
I can't fault Randall for his choice. Being asked to share a prize isn't much of a request. But Randall hasn't picked up that Trump has a hard-on for Rebecca. She maybe hired post-show like Andy was.

Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:02 pm
First thoughts, and I never thought had I'd say this, Randal is douchebag. He would've had his precious title. He already had the job. Rebecca would have still been second place. The classy thing though would have been have to tell Trump "Sure why not? Hire her too if you want." HATE

Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:02 pm
Wow Randall turned out to be a straight up asshole. Man! The way he laid into her like he was Alla and she was Felisha bothered me. And that little "no more apprentices, only me" thing at the end? Ugh.
And Rebecca got screwed by Yahoo and Yahoo totally tried to save face. What was all that crap about how Yahoo wasn't the client? Then who was she meeting with? Who seemed to have final say on everything?
dithering
Dec 15, 2005 @ 11:02 pm
I called him hiring both about halfway through as well.
As he should have.
And Randal, I loved you so hard. I was happy for you, but Rebecca's my girl, and Randal... you. utter. asshat.
My feelings for Randal did a 180 so fast in the last 30 seconds that I got whiplash.

I agree that Randall is head and shoulders above Rebecca, but he had nothing to lose by pulling for Trump to hire her too. Very disapointing.

I can't believe Trumpy asked him if he should hire her. I completely agree with Randal. He said he wouldn't hire her tonight, not that he wouldn't hire her at all. He was right on. He shouldn't have to share the title with her.

Oh my God, there are no words for the Alla hate. HATE. HATE.
I wanted Rebecca to get a job offer just because I couldn't stand Alla's headshakes, comments, shout-outs, etc. HATE.
Really, Randall, what was the point? You weren't going to lose your job. You both wanted different jobs.
Hmm, looks like the nice-guy persona was just a persona. Seriously, kudos for him for keeping it up the entire season.

I knew Randal was going to win, but Rebecca really sealed her fate when she was asked which project she would take. Ummm, they're both in NJ, honey.
Go Randal! "...this isn't the apprenti" hee!
I loved how Yahoo had to save face by donating money. Do you think the exec. that said they shouldn't solicit money, at a fundraiser, still has a job?
