There are a lot of hot couples percolating on soaps right now, so thought it would be interesting to start a forum to see what people's picks would be... and whose fans are the most fanatical.

My personal favorites:

and Gwill (Gwen & Will) - ATWT

The ever-controversial (I know, I know) Luke and Laura, GH, will always be my favorite. But Zen are inching closer and closer to the title.

Nash and Tess, even if Higley feels we must be assaulted by Antonio and Nikki Smith in order to enjoy them.

Yes I do, and yes it is. The basic set up was this: Luke put Cassadine money into Tracy's account to lure Helena out of hiding. Tracy refused to give it back to Luke, who was never the rightful owner to begin with. Luke got her drunk and married her, in order to get the money back as alimony, thinking that she would rather get rid of him than the money. He was wrong. It's a battle of wills, one which at times shows signs of mutual respect. (Laura, btw, is off in a mental institution, but that's a whole other story)

AMC: Zendall, although
Word to that; I love them together.

OLTL: David and Dorian, unless Roxy and Nigel are on.

GH: Love me some JaSam, which I guess makes me a big, sappy fangurl, but what the heck. Flove L&L2, too. (hehe, tutu!)

Oh, and I am completely behind the concept of Shawn/Mimi (I think they call it Shimi?). I quit watching about two years ago when Days totally jumped the shark with the murders, and can't bring myself to give up OLTL to go back, but I thought Shawn was completely wasted on Belle and always saw chem with him and Mimi, going all the way back to him giving her that first kiss in Paris or wherever it was.

eta: Luke and Tracy (Lucy, Lunacy...) is quite bizarre and loads of fun. Mostly.

My serious all time favorite couple, well, Jammy.

Now my alltime favorite effed up could be couple was Todd and Rebecca on OLTL. She was caaaaarrrrraaaazzzzyyy, but not in a psyco mags kinda way. And she was way to in to him for a while. Ahh, memories.

OMG I LOVED them. I haven't heard anyone refer to them (Todd/Blair has become so big it doesn't seem like he's loved anyone else ever) and thought I was the only one who still remembered that pairing. Dude, when Rebecca thought she was Jezebel because she loved Todd and that she was so sinful and was going to hell for it......oh yes good times. Plus they started as screwed up as Jammy (incest factor not applicable) because Todd used her to help him break out of jail and made her think he was in love with her....but of course actually did end up falling in love with her when they were hiding out in the cabin after he kidnapped her. Man I loved that couple and thought it was a pity the actress left, because I really think they could have been something really good. However the Blair factor came and well we all know that story....although I do sometimes still wonder how it would work if they brought the character back. Might be interesting, or not, since Roger's no longer playing the part.

Jasam are my big couple. Their theme song is on my iPod for Christsakes. No matter how many gunfights or kidnappings or forced ballroom dances they throw at them, Jason and Sam are (please avert your eyes if allergic to excessive sap) about trust, devotion, love, wordless acceptance, tipsy kisses on the floor and dances in the rain. I also feel that their honesty with each other sets them apart from other soap couples. YES, I LOVE THEM OKAY?

Shimi.... I love their sweet, awkward, fumbling, hot, confused-but-liking-it thing. In a perfect world, Shawn won't let being Claire's father interfere with his relationship with Mimi.

Right now though, Zendall is the hottest couple chemistry wise. I literally do a bouncy-bouncy thing in my seat when they're together because I'm so excited and yeah - turned on.

THAT is something that today's writers don't seem to get; you can keep a couple together and still not have them be boring. Jack and Jennifer.

I like Zach and Kendall because they remind me of my Angel OTP: Angel and Cordelia. He's snarky and withdrawn, she's snarky and selfish. They had no use whatsoever for each other until circumstances forced them together, and now they're all hot and flustered and in love.

Gwen and Will on ATWT. Also a surprise. Generally, teen couples do zip for me. But something about these two works very well. I'm curious to see what happens to them now that they're together, though.

Mallet/Harley/Gus on GL. I know they're not a couple. Don't care. They should be a threesome. Harley deserves it, and I can't pick between them. So, pffft. Tammy and Jonathan had me for a while, but they're starting to lose me now that Jonathan's turning into every girl's worst stalking nightmare.

Alltime:

Phillip and Beth, GL, original recipe. I caught GL one day when they were at the prom and I loved them for years thereafter. I've given them up, now, but man did they rock.

Jax and Brenda, GH. I never got the appeal of Sonny, chemistry notwithstanding. What the current writers have done to Jax is a travesty, IMO.

Holly and Robert, GH. I am such a sucker for a well executed "married for other reasons and fall in love later" plot (see Zach/Kendall, current couples).

And, yes, Luke and Laura, GH. It started horribly, but they still kill me like no other couple ever.

The only current couple I find the least bit appealing on TFGH is Liz/Lucky, and even they aren't a truly great couple. Kelly Monaco and Steve Burton do have real, genuine chemistry, which is a testament to Monaco's smoking sensuality since Steve Burton is a cyborg, but Sam is a pathetic doormat of a character and Jason is a murdering thug and so I cannot 'ship them.

All time?

Patch/Kayla. This was my first soap couple. I was, like, nine or something. But I just about died at their wedding, when Deaf!Kayla miraculously regained her powers of speech just in time to recite her vows.

Jack/Jennifer. Only the first time around, with the Cruise of Deception and, if I recall correctly, the cave sex where Jen lost her virginity. I had long since stopped watching by the time the roles were recast. I haven't been able to stomach Days since the early '90s.

During my brief Another World viewing time in the '90s, I absolutely adored Gabe/Lorna, with Lorna being played by Robin Christopher.

I remember the tail of end Lane Davies' Mason and Julia on Santa Barbara, and from that and clips I've seen since, they are one of my favorite couples of all time. Easily.

With my one true soap, General Hospital, it begins and ends with Luke and Laura. In fact, all of my favorite soap pairings begin and end with Luke and Laura. Sure, rape. Sure, Laura's in the loony bin. But all it takes is for Tony Geary to look at Genie Francis in that way and I'm a complete goner. Early Luke/Laura, '90s Luke/Laura, it doesn't matter. They are my OTP.

I began as a Sonny/Brenda 'shipper because of the smoldering sexual chemistry. Yes, it's true! Maurice Benard was once smoldering! But pretty early on in the Best. Triangle. Ever. I switched over to Jax and now WILL NEVER understand how Brenda could be even the least bit conflicted between the two.

Elizabeth/Jonathan Jackson's Lucky. And I normally can take or leave teen romances. Possibly the sweetest love story I've ever seen on television.

Alan/Monica. Too bad they're ancient and only trotted out to prop their far less worthy children.

Lila/Edward. David Lewis. John Ingle. Doesn't matter. I'm a sucker for pairings wherein the scoundrel is a scoundrel to everyone but his beloved wife of about a thousand years.

And just based on clips and edit tapes, I fell in love with Robert/Holly, and this despite the fact that I vaguely remember adoring both Robert/Anna and Anna/Duke as a wee lass. Strange...
