There's more chemistry between Burke and Izzie than Burke and Xtina
I don't know. I'd argue Burke is like Xtina+suave. But real Burke is pretty much Xtina, but a man who can cook. Remember he was in teacher mode, not lust mode with Izzie.
I have to give an ITA to Alex's description of how Izzie would react to his academic failings.

Another tearjerker-- that poor man Holden. I was really surprised when the son came back. I felt so sad for him-- what kind of life would possibly be ahead for him? Wife moved on, kid doesn't know him... how would he work again, the hospital bills. I'm practical like that. So maybe it's a blessing he died. I immediately flash to Six Feet Under, wondering who is going to take care of the funeral arrangements.
I loved the part where that arrogant asshole visiting attending finds out that Bailey is the Nazi. Awesome!! So Mere ends up at the bar-- again. You go Mere!! Discover your inner drunkard!

Oh goodness - is it really over between Derek and Mere? His voice cracked when he said "Good-bye, Meredith." :( But this was the first night I found an inkling of sympathy for Addison, especially when she asked Derek if he was done hurting her. And I have to admit, I thought it was pretty hot when he said "Here we go . . ." before leaning in to kiss Addison.
But it must be said that when they were discussing Holden's options and Derek said he didn't know what he'd choose, I said, "Big effin' surprise."
The saddest moment of the night, by far, was coming out the surgery where Holden died and finding his son there in the waiting room - I think Holden died believing he wouldn't come back.
And Bailey - wait for it . . . "Happy Thanksgiving." Another great ep from her.
Next week with Alex and Izzie looks hot . . . but WHAT is Mere's deal? She gets a new (Derek-look-alike) hottie tonight, but next week ends up in bed with someone else entirely?
George - the whole time his brothers were ragging on him, I kept yelling "You had your finger in a heart! Tell them you're Burke's guy!" And I teared up when he finally told his dad and his dad said "That's somethin' else" which I suspect is high praise. The George love keeps growing.
ETA: I couldn't remember Holden's name.

You shot dad in the ass! Are you happy now?" -- George
As soon as the father walked off and the other brothers started to cock their shotguns, I knew it was going to happen and then George would have to take care of it.

I didn't like the coma plot thing. Just sad, and he was mighty healthy looking for someone who'd been not moving for 16 years.
I think that Burke is just going to have chemistry with all the women.
Is it really that hard to follow a recipe? I'm so happy they didn't go the OHNOTHEBIRDISN'TDEFROSTED route.
Bird Murder!
Didn't one of the female doctors pretend to be a nurse last season--because it was the only way they could get the one jerk guy patient to let them treat him? That's what Bailey pretending that the Nazi wasn't her reminded me of.

I thought this episode was alright. I wasn't really feeling anything about the coma/not coma guy, but I liked Burke and Izzie's story. Loved Bailey and her little war with the visiting surgeon. And I actually sort of...teared up when McDreamy finally went to Addison. Him with Meh gets on my last nerve, but him with Addison, I like. Sue me.

Loved the turkey prep/surgery bit between Izzie and Burke. (Excuse me, Preston!) That was priceless. Excellent epi, and loved the ending. I was totally grinning when Derek and Addison kissed. I'm completely on board with their relationship. Awesome.

Okay first, *PUKE*
I'm sooooooooo over McD. McD and Mrs. Bitch belong together... wait, no... DESERVE each other. I'm so disgusted. I don't even want to think of those two going at "it". He's not good enough for Mer.
*CHEERS* Meredith... you rock girl. She has her mojo back. She dumped McD and she's getting with a HOT ASS guy in the bar! LOVE IT!
What was up with Izzie flirting with Burke?? Creepy! Okay, I know it wasn't supposed to be like that. But she was a little... know what I mean? Also, why was Izzie so quick to forgive Alex for being so late.... I really like Izzie a lot this episode. She was so cute being "martha stewart"
Bailey rules my world... as usual. Wonder why she told Xtina about the preganancy.... guess she figures she won't gossip about it.
JOE IS GAY! That's awesome! LOVE that X-tina says "whatever" when he introduces his boy toy!
George is awesome! His dad and his brother blow chunks. No wonder he doesn't want anything to do with them. They are a bunch of dumb rednecks.

Color me surprised, I saw the chemistry or at least that level of ease and comfort between Burke and Izzie too. And the Alex/Mere friendship? I like. But I'm kinda miffed that he seems to be opening up more to Merea than Izzie. Though, Alex being spot on with Izzie's reaction? Aw.
I truly love Addison. "I was hoping we could have sex tonight." Aw. And bad McD for making her wait! The lunch thing was quite sweet.
Oh, previews. You're always so misleading. But Jesus, how hot did Alex look untying Izzie's scrubs. *melts*

It's nice to see the show allowing some of the characters to expand a little more in depth.
To me, this episode was a good indicator of why Burke & Christina make a bad match. She's got work-related OCD. All points of discussion and interest lead back to the hospital with her. I'm not sure anybody, even a fellow surgeon who understands this, could put up with. Then again, Burke has a high tolerance for a lot of things.
And that preview? The whole George/Izzie/Alex/Nurse Syphillis thing seems to be one big rope-a-dope. As if having an ongoing love triangle with Meredith, Derek, and Addison wasn't enough, we're going to create a potential trapezoid? Please let me be right in thinking that was a tease.

I am this show's bitch.
Burke is way hawt. And he can cook?!?? Christina girl! Marry him!!!! Plus, try not to be so high strung. If not for Preston, you wouldn't have been eating at all!
Joe's boyfriend was so cute! Did they eat at all? I'll be damned if I'm going to hang all day and not eat something.
Poor George! "You shot Dad in the ass! Are you happy now?" However, it was sucky of Dad O'Malley to tell George that he wasn't one of them. He is still your son! Learn to relate, yo.
Bailey rawks, but everyone knows that! I loved how she wrapped that resident around her finger all day.
I can love Meredith now! Hopefully she can wait a few days before doing the next slampiece.

I don't know if I like Addison, but one must admit, she looked genuinely human, especially at the end, something you rarely get off her.
Also it's interesting to note how unremarked upon Joe's sexual orientation is. Not because such a thing is necessarily so interesting, but rather because TV has all too often made too big a deal of such things IMO. In any case I thought Christina's _look_ "whatever" was a nice touch.

Word. I need more Alex/Izzie!
Joe's boyfriend was hot and funny. Good for him!

I'm always just so irritated to see the show end every week. The main story was sad, but they really didn't dig too deeply into it. I can't imagine losing 16 years of my life.
Bailey...she just makes the entire show.
However, George's family made me think of mine. He loves them, but they clearly drive him crazy. HA! "I was forced to touch my dad's ass today." *shudder* That's why beer and hunting shouldn't really go together.
Joe's boyfriend is HOT. So is the fact that Preston can cook so well.
As much as I love Meh and McD together...that was a good ending for them. As much as I don't love Addison, her moment with McD at the end was nice.

For probably the first time, I got Meredith. I think EP is probably too subtle for her own good- there are too many great, wonderful and colorful characters around her stealing focus from her performance. Don't get me wrong- I love this cast (and Bailey is a GODDESS!), but Mere is the heart of the show. Even when her VOs get too precious, EP manages to be very subtle in her facial expressions. That scene outside the hospital with Derek- there is a clarity in her expression that simply melted my heart.
On a different note, glad to have the "Nazi" back!

Well, I thought it was at first, too, but I swear they showed him twice and he looks . . . East Asian? Please forgive me, because I really believe she's sleeping with the guy they show in the hospital bed . . . and he looks Indian (I don't know what the right description is, so I hope no one's offended). Ooh - maybe it's that guy she conned so Christina and Izzie could steal the pregnant guy's chart a couple eps ago. Am I crazy? Can someone straighten me out? I didn't tape this ep so I can't go back and check. I would feel much better about Mere's new direction if I could spend this week knowing it's not a different guy. (And yes, I watch way too many shows and am too invested in these FAKE people)

I hid my eyes during what I assumed was the McD kiss - almost turned off the TV. I really can't stand Addison and I'm not too fond of McD now. I liked most of the rest of the show, though. I don't want them to put Mer and McD back together (I think she deserves better) but I also don't want to have to see the Sheps.
I want to see her get strong and when McD gets jealous of her dating other guys-- she can tell him to take a short walk off a long pier and MEAN it!
Just wanted to add that I totally agree. Also want to say that I know they are trying to make Addison more sympathetic but I personally have a hard time being sympathetic to someone who slept with her husband's best friend. I'm not quite sure why I hate her so much because even though I like Mer okay I don't think she is fabulous so it's not sympathy - I just know that the character of Addison up to this time is the type I would hate in real life because she comes across as so fake to me.

I really liked that when Joe showed up with his boyfriend that the show didn't turn into a Very Special Episode of Grey's Anatomy. Instead it was a no big deal kind of thing which was refreshing. I don't know if I'm on the McD/Meh train or the McD/Addison train. I kind of like both options. Does that make me a bad person?

Interestingly enough I don't think Meredith asked the guy in the bar if he was married. She asked whether he worked at the hospital or was a brain surgeon.
Joe was all set to make a big deal about bringing his boyfriend, when Xtina blew by that fact in her rapid search for alcohol.
Bailey telling Xtina about the baby, seemed like the right moment, since a) after a while the baby will start showing and b)Christina recently lost her baby.
The heart surgery in the elevator was a month/last month? Wow, time must be returning to normal speed on this show.
