Oh, Poor Gabby!

George is so creepy and violent. I can't wait for his downfall. Season One Bree would have turned down the proposal with a snappy insult, then laughed at his misery.

And poor Julie too, imagine walking in on THAT scene?
JennB
It's a good thing Karl can't get pregnant, or there would probably be another paternity mystery.

9:57 - Me: If this were General Hospital, Gabrielle would fall down the stairs and lose the baby.
9:58 - Gabrielle falls down the stairs.
mcwoohoo
Wow..George is crazy. Moreso than I thought.

I hope Gabby didn't lose her baby. And Bree looked amazing tonight.
lexualhealing
Calling George crazy is an understatement. For once, I felt sorry for Gabby.
Mischievious
George is batshit crazy.

Maybe I'm stupid or something, but did Gabby indeed lose her baby?
kiki38
What that Jim Carrey in the previews for next week? Wha?

And Middle Aged Home made porn! I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!
Eegah
Wow, huge improvement this week. Now that the Caleb story is finally going somewhere and the regular characters are getting involved, I can't wait to see where it goes next.

One weird thing: Bree mentions that maybe she, Susan, and Lynette have had a positive impact on Gabby, but no mention of Mary Alice! Since they were all such good friends until MA's death, that's a little odd.
neptune42
As soon as Porn Husband mentioned "the room", I started giggling madly.

The guy who George attacked on the bridge - who was he? Was he the therapist?

I hope Gabrielle doesn't miscarry.
strawberryblond
Did George push someone off a bridge? I wasn't paying attention, but I heard a scream and turned to see George standing on the bridge.
Kafka
I loved the nonchalant way George offed Dr. Goldfine. I'm still laughing.
Mystery
Yes, George pushed Bree's psychiatrist off the bridge.
Divagalore

The guy who George attacked on the bridge - who was he? Was he the therapist?
Yes, that was Bree's therapist. George is a bonafide NUTCASE!!!! LOL
My Way
Oh my god! I screamed when George threw Dr. Goldfine over the cliff even though I knew it was coming. I can't wait till next week when somebody finally tells Bree that he's a wackjob.

I actually cried a little bit for Gabby at the end! I've always had a soft spot for her, she's sort of Cordelia grown up or something, and when I saw her fall down the stairs, I was thinking it would kill her baby (cause, that's how Scarlet lost her baby in Gone With the Wind and apparently that is my only tv/movie miscarriage point of reference).

I actually enjoyed Lynette and Gay Matt's storyline tonight. More stories like that please, MC.

What else happened? Oh Susan. Eh. I felt sorry for Edie but I loved her Red dress when she was talking to Susan. I thought it was very pretty.
ptfull
Boy that was something, of course we all knew Gabby was eventually going to lose the baby. But is Caleb still on the loose then? Just when the show starts acknowledging a pregnancy there's a miscarriage.

The Scavo twins are finally back from exile. Lynettes storyline YAWN! and next week, how far are her "antics" going to go.

Bree, just WTF is wrong with you woman! I saw Dr. Goldfine getting killed the minute she mentioned him to George. Hopefully she'll put 2 and 2 together sometime soon. I'm loving the Bree-Gabby friendship though.

That Carl is HOT!, and Susan still hanging on to Mike. Don't look back he's such a hypocritical douchebag. At least we finally see Edie for more than 1 damn minute.
MelMelW
I thought it would be a given that Gabby would miscarry, but I am starting to hope she doesn't - her acting has improved leaps and bounds and she has become my favorite character.

And, I think she had Bree have great chemistry together - it's becoming like a big sister/little sister relationship. I can't wait to see how this relationship grows.

Now, my one gripe - The real Bree would not have agreed to marry George just because she didn't want to embarass him in front of his mother. And I totally called George offing Dr. Goldfine when Bree mentioned him 37 times in her conversation with George. But that way? Cold-blooded - excellent.
tvgoddess
Dare I say that I actually really liked this episode? Maybe the best one yet this season.

Susan, huge improvement over last week. I kind of liked her and Carl back together, but LOVED her blow off of him. She should be like that more often.

I think I'm probably in the minority, but I could give a crap less about the mystery from the basement. The only plus out of the storyline is the hot guy who Danielle's hitting on.

Bree was so hilarious with her little "Okay?" to the marriage proposal. George is beyond wacko. Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs, alright. Poor Dr. Goldfein. :(

Finally, Gabby. Should have known they'd make her lose the baby, why make EL get all fat when you can conveniently get rid of that plotline? But she shouldn't be a mom anyway, not eating for two days when you're pregnant? I've never had kids before, and that made me shudder.
cinaminsweet281

I'm loving the Bree-Gabby friendship though.
Me too. I hope they show more of it, since they're my two favorite characters.

Are we supposed to know if Gabby definitely lost the baby or not? I hope she didn't. I noticed they didn't show her in next week's previews at all.

Bree's daughter is ugly and I hope Matthew stays far away from her.
kariyaki

I felt sorry for Edie but I loved her Red dress when she was talking to Susan.
I was thinking Edie's skin looked too much like leather. But I still heart Edie so more power to her.

Did the actress who plays Danielle just turn 18? The bikini/smoking scenes were quite the turnaround from the seventy layers of sweaters she always wears. But at least she has the good taste to notice Matthew's hotness -- unlike the rest of the blind denizens of Wisteria. Go Danielle!
kakistos
So are we supposed to think that Dr. Goldfine is dead? Because that would suck.
RBK Premier
George is just creepy. Is Bree really worth killing people over? I can't wait for his demise.

I didn't recognize that the girl in the backyard was Bree's daughter. Something tells me she's got a whole lot of secrets she's hiding from mommy. And Matthew. I'm sorry, but that actor can not pass as a teenager. Just a little too much of a stretch there.

9:57 - Me: If this were General Hospital, Gabrielle would fall down the stairs and lose the baby.
9:58 - Gabrielle falls down the stairs.
And judging from the preview, Gabrielle loses the baby since the word grief was brought up with Carlos.
Kafka
I take it Danielle is no longer in the abstinence club.
Mystery
According to IMDB Joy Lauren, the actress who plays Danielle, is barely 16. Yikes. I didn't recognize her for a second.

I'm not spoiled but I hope Gabby doesn't lose the baby.
Darn
That was very good. It felt more like last season.

Susan was acting like a normal human being, for her. I fully expecting blustering and tripping and moronic acrobats when Julie walked in on her and Carl.

I hope Gabby didn't lose the baby, that would be so cliche.

And was the end bit there...oddly edited? Have they already begun to eliminate OldCaleb from the show? There seemed to be a concentrated effort to not show his face. The guy even looked to be built differently.

I missed all of Matthew and Danielle's interaction, what happened?
merrycherry701

I take it Danielle is no longer in the abstinence club.
My thoughts exactly, Kafka. That was an awfully quick character change.

I think if I was Julie, between my mother being Susan and walking in on that scene, I would run out of that house and never come back.
baconrocks
My absolute favourite moment was Susan holding the hose toward Edie, and NOT spraying her in a 'spit-take'. Blew my mind, really! Way to go writers!!
BetJo
The Caleb story has been dragging and dragging and tonight he finally escapes and is loose in the neighborhood. Wonder if the one shown tonight was the original one that I read in People was fired?

Anyway, at first I thought I sure don't like the idea of a brutal murderer running around in this neighborhood; I like the comedy and the marital difficulties but I don't care for a murderer in the neighborhood!!!

Then. . it is pointed out very dramatically at the end of the show . . . . . .

. . . . George is a murderer and he's been in our midst for a long time . . . . LOL

And I don't think he's the first one . . . is he?
My Way

Well, yeah it always does. I'm not blaming the dress though :)

But at least she has the good taste to notice Matthew's hotness -- unlike the rest of the blind denizens of Wisteria. Go Danielle!
Seriously. Although her leaning over the chair so he could see her ass was a little much.

I also wanted to mention that Carl was cracking me up this episode. His "hey pumpkin" or whatever he said to Julie and also the comment about the 20 in his pants "if you can find them" were both funny. Not great parenting, but funny.

HEEEEE. I'm guessing this is all some weird Freudian response to the deluge of daddy issues she currently has going on. It was very Broken Flowers.

Poor Gabby! I thought that losing-the-baby rumour was too harsh to be true, but looks like I might be wrong. Damn. I actually really liked Eva tonight - something about her sweet girlishness at the door when she was talking to Bree about buying maternity clothes was really endearing.

I want to hit Lynette with something pointy. "I need these playdates"? Gag me. But GayMatt gets cuter by the day. His deadpan WTF face at the Porn!Family was priceless.

Susan = *headdesk* Mike being a complete bitch is sort of new. Edie continues to be awesome. "I looked in the mirror and didn't like what I saw." "I'm with you!"
Bookrat

Oh my god! I screamed when George threw Dr. Goldfine over the cliff even though I knew it was coming.
So is Dr. Goldfine really dead? I mean, Paul survived being tied up and left in the desert, and even though I saw him buried, I'm still on the fence about Rex. Maybe Goldfine's still alive, because, damn it, I want Bree to steal Rex's tape. (Although, I guess the police could play it as evidence during her upcoming murder trial...you just know that's going to happen. I wonder if she'll be charge with offing Dr. Goldfine, as well.

But very happy to hear that George is starting to be more evil. Come on George! Let's see how many more you can do in! (where's your assistant from last season, or have you already killed her too?)
mariposa

when I saw her fall down the stairs, I was thinking it would kill her baby (cause, that's how Scarlet lost her baby in Gone With the Wind and apparently that is my only tv/movie miscarriage point of reference).
And a million soaps, and Taryn Manning's character in The Britney Movie...

If Claire from Lost's fetus can survive a plane crash, how bad can a spill down the stairs be?
Kris

No. I think Paul Young would probably be among the first actually...not to mention Mary Alice, but she was already dead by the beginning of the pilot episode. LOL

As for George, I knew he was going to murder Dr. Goldfine. I guess he'll murder anyone who stands in the way of him and Bree. Maybe Andrew will be next.

I don't think that Lynnette and Tom were expecting THAT kind of response from the sex tape video making neighbors. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mousy Danielle has done quite the turnaround hasn't she?

I figured Gabby would have a miscarriage.

For once, Susan didn't get on my nerves.

As for the Caleb escape...let's see where that goes.

Says My Way:

More stories like that please, MC
Word! I really, really enjoyed this one! By that I mean, I don't necessarily agree with the character actions (Bree saying "okay?" and pregnant Gabby fasting for two days). But I did find more entertainment in them, all the same.

On the Bree side--after she was weak enough to have sex with George just to keep him (!) the getting-engaged didn't surprise me. AND her hesitations sent George on another murder spree, which is kinda fun when it's not Rex biting the dust.

I hope Dr. Goldfine is okay. I suspect not.

On the Gabby side--the comment about "You DO deserve Dolce & Gabanna" sold the whole fast-for-two-days part for me. That was priceless. AND it was nice of them to finally note that yes, she might be showing a little bit.

I hope Gabby's baby is okay. I suspect not.

As for Susan? Way to be grown up, Susan! I mean that seriously, btw. Oh sure, she slept with her ex-husband. But I could buy that; I've heard that ex-sex can be very hot (the comfort of a spouse, the freedom of a one-night stand), AND they were drunk, AND she's been hurting over Mike, AND she got to one-up Edie, even if she was grown-up enough not to throw it into Edie's face.

Okay, yes... "yet." But still. She was also grown-up enough to try to talk to Mike, and to walk away when he was all ass-hat about it. She was grown-up enough to tell Carl that this was a one-time thing, and that she didn't want to go backwards. As far as I'm concerned, Susan shone.

And I didn't hate Lynette. I didn't hate Lynette!!! It's a rare and beauteous thing.
Toga
Susan was actually tolerable tonight! I love it when she acts her age and not like a yelping 12 year old. I'm glad she's through with Mike. If he couldn't understand that she sent Zana away to protect her daughter from a pyro, stalker, almost!murderer, then he has another thing coming.

The fall down the stairs was a bit too soap for me. The writers probably wanted Gabby to lose her baby so they wouldn't have to worry about putting off her pregnancy weight gain anymore.

I want the old Bree back. She wouldn't have put up with any of this George crap.

Am I the only one who really doesn't care about the whole axe murderer plot?
Bookrat

As for George, I knew he was going to murder Dr. Goldfine. I guess he'll murder anyone who stands in the way of him and Bree. Maybe Andrew will be next.
No...I think Andrew is safe because of the bond of complete evilness the two share. I think Danielle might have a big ole target on her back. Maybe MamaRex will come back so George can kill her too.
growsonwalls
Maybe I;m in the minority, but I think Karl and Susan are a much better couple than Mike and Susan. Mike's a jerk to totally not understand how a woman could be wary of a psychotic son. Karl still obviously carries some sort of torch for Susan, and I actually felt bad for Edie. She's being used.

I also felt bad for Gabby. I loved Bree at the end of the episode, taking care of Gabby. God give Marcia an Emmy PLEASE.

But ... god, Bree's a smart woman. Can she not see how CREEPY George is? This storyline stretches my credibility because how can such an intelligent woman not run for the hills with such a creep? And George offing Bree's therapist on the bridge? Wow. That man is more psycho than I thought.

Lynette and Gay-Matt's storyline was actually funny tonight.
teatrica
I agree, great improvement tonight.

Though I'm still dissapointed with Bree for her letting George walk all over her, its fun to have a psycho villain. And Doctor Goldfine! noooooo! I love that man.
(when MAVO was talking about cameras at the end, I swore she was going to mention someone filming/taking a picture of George killing Dr. G. eh, maybe not.)

Lynette, Gabby and Susan's storylines were alot of fun too...Unfortunatley I think they're going to have Gabby lose the baby and then realize how much she wanted it..or something.
And agreed on Carl being awesome tonight. Hilarious lines to Julie, I'm glad he's sticking around...(I missed the last Edie/Susan scene, what did Edie say exactly?)

Overall, good episode.
baconrocks
I'm assuming that Gabby will lose her baby, because if she really is going to do a turnaround, it's going to have to be with Definitely Carlos, as opposed to Possibly Carlos. Maybe she'll be so devastated that her next storyline will be trying to get pregnant. Then of course, finding that Carlos has lazy swimmers, then of course the fight with Carlos over that....but by the time she gets pregnant through in vitro, George will have killed everyone that Caleb (now played by Sarah Chalke) has missed....

ay yi yi
Imperator
Way to go Geroge!! You give hope to losers everywhere. I hope Bree marries him and doesn't find out he killed Rex for 4 or 5 seasons!

Danielle smoking? Tsk. Poor Bree.

I really hope Gabby doesn't lose the baby, that's so cliched, forgot General Hospital try (insert name of any show) but that would be better than showing her at 8 months still not looking pregnant.
ladyrott
Definitely a first rate episode! I actually liked Susan tonight. She was mature, not making a huge deal over the morning after with Carl and not slapping Edie in the face with it (or spraying her with the hose). She was honest with Julie after getting caught and didnt try to weasel her way out of what happened. I even admired her restraint in NOT pounding on Mike's door again after he shut it in her face and NOT going home to whine and cry that it's not fair. She seems to actually realize Mike has a right to his feelings and that it IS over. Nicely done, writers!

CreepyGeorge gets creepier by the episode. He actually threw Bree's therapist off a bridge! I still cant get over it. I dearly hope the cops catch on to him soon....or at least Bree puts two and two together and realizes he's a freakin' psychopath!

The old married couple with the porno studio....comedy gold, people! I usually hate Scarvo scenes, but tonight, it was actually enjoyable.

I really really hope Gabby has not lost the baby. Although the fact that she had that little smile and wanted to shop for maternity clothes makes me think she probably did. Damn, writers, dont do that to me. Gabby being a mom could make for good TV.

Count me among those who enjoy Bree/Gabby scenes. I really like the way those two play off one another. I can see their friendship being the closest, even though Susan and Bree actually have the kids of the same age thing going on. Gabby and Bree just both strike me as having a certain "something" that the other wives dont have.

And speaking of Bree's kids....Danielle has certain grown up! I cannot believe she was actually SMOKING in her backyard. If Bree catches her at that, Danielle may be joining her brother at Camp!
merrycherry701

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think Karl and Susan are a much better couple than Mike and Susan
Make that a minority of two. Karl is awesome, I hope he sticks around for awhile.
prophetreturns

And was the end bit there...oddly edited? Have they already begun to eliminate OldCaleb from the show? There seemed to be a concentrated effort to not show his face.
I thought it was just a way to make the scene look more creepy (worked for me) by hiding his face in the shadow. But you may have a point.
Kris
I also noticed how Caleb's face was blurry in the basement scenes. Maybe that was done deliberately considering that the actor is being replaced.
Bookrat
This was posted by Evany
I just heard from a friend who works in The Industry that they've not only replaced Flash with a new actor, they're reshooting every scene he's appeared in up until now, so it would be as if...he never existed.
Bye old Caleb, never to be seen again, not even on repeats.
deaja
Okay, imo, easily the best of the season. I had several “gasp!” moments.

I said to my friend after Bree’s talk with George “uh, oh. Dr. Goldfine is going to get it!”

And now I can go back to fully hating Karl. This season I started liking him, but then I rewatched some episodes from last year, and couldn’t quite like him. But now that he “got Susan out of his system” I can hate him again. I thought Susan was going to douse Edie though with the hose.

Lynette’s storyline was boring and pointless, in my opinion. It was almost like last season where her scenes were my cue to fast forward if I was watching the episode on tape.
camelot7414

Make that a minority of two. Karl is awesome, I hope he sticks around for awhile.
Make that three....
micaela
Still trying to figure out the episode title. Color and Light is from Sondheim's Sunday in the Park with George, it's all about creating art and the meter even imitates Seurat's pointillism. Good episode, but I don't see anything that relates it to the song or even the title of the song.

Oh my god! I screamed when George threw Dr. Goldfine over the cliff even though I knew it was coming. I can't wait till next week when somebody finally tells Bree that he's a wackjob.
Me too! I'm sorry to see Dr. Goldfine go, but he sort of deserves it for keeping Bree as a patient after all the shenanigans she pulled last year and for not getting her to talk about why she needs to be with a man so badly she'd settle for George.
tantpis
Eeek.

Susan: I'm sorry, but she was an idiot for sleeping with Karl. I understand that they were both drunk and on the rebound, but did neither of them stop to think of their daughter? Susan lost Mike to protect Julie; then she goes and does something like this? Stupid.

Lynette: needs better storylines. Yawn.

Bree: What the hell happened? Old School Bree never would have caved under pressure and accepted George's proposal. I'm not buying that whole "Good manners" thing for a bit.

Gabby: Scared! If she loses the baby, I am going to be livid. Although I'd like to see how this whole storyline plays out with Basement Applewhite and all. Speaking of which:

Applewhites: Screwed up. (Although I think Matthew and Danielle would make a cute couple!)

George: Psycho! *screeches* Start blaring the Shostakovich!
rexbanner

I don't think that Lynnette and Tom were expecting THAT kind of response from the sex tape video making neighbors. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They did kind of ask for it by hanging out and drinking with the other couple in their house, though. Should have gotten out of there. Not a good situation.

George is eeeeeeeevil. Eeeeeeeeevil, I tell you! Can you believe throwing a surprise engagement party complete with relatives without telling your spouse-to-be? <Shudder.> Oh, also, it was wrong of him to kill that pychologist guy.
My Way

As for George, I knew he was going to murder Dr. Goldfine. I guess he'll murder anyone who stands in the way of him and Bree. Maybe Andrew will be next.
Oh, now I'm worried about Andrews long absence, I guess the angry farm would have called Bree if he were dead though, right?

when I saw her fall down the stairs, I was thinking it would kill her baby (cause, that's how Scarlet lost her baby in Gone With the Wind and apparently that is my only tv/movie miscarriage point of reference).

And a million soaps, and Taryn Manning's character in The Britney Movie...

The Britney Movie? Huh. Well, they all stole it from Gone with the Wind anyways, so I"ll stick with that.

And I didn't hate Lynette. I didn't hate Lynette!!! It's a rare and beauteous thing.
Hee. I didn't hate her this week either. And usually I loathe Lynette! Congrats, show.

I'm glad she's through with Mike. If he couldn't understand that she sent Zana away to protect her daughter from a pyro, stalker, almost!murderer, then he has another thing coming.
I'm glad too. Also, way to be a baby about everything, Mike, slamming the door in her face and giving back cards. I liked how she calmly told him that was an asshole move. Damn straight. She had a legitimate concern, she just went about it the wrong way.

Am I the only one who really doesn't care about the whole axe murderer plot?
No, I don't care for it either. I usually find myself yawning during those spots, the only reason I care tonight is because of Gabby. He was all kinds of scary in that scene but the fact that he came over for ice cream was funny and scary at the same time.
