Were the Editors comparing the Aprentai to Star Wars characters? I was only barely paying attention, but when they showed Chewbacca, then showed a side view of Rebecca so that all you could see was hair over her face. Absoultely brilliant if it was intentional, and it made me wonder who others were shown with?
Then later in the episode the Editors struck again:
The camera showed a Vader helmet then cut to Clay giving orders.
Then the camera showed a Yoda statue, and cut to Randall being ask to teach everything he knows...
*squeeee*
Although they lost a bit of my respect with the cornball credit rip-off with Capital Edges name. That was just lame, and they didn't even do anything with Excel's name.
The Randal love keeps on growing. He was the only one on his team who knew anything about Star Wars. I wouldn't really think that it was actually possible to find that many people who even if they avoided the latest imitation of Star Wars movies, would at least have some idea of what the main story was about. Where do these people live? I mean it was hard to turn on a TV, surf the net, go shopping, or heck even drive down a road without being assaulted with Star Wars ads about Vader's beginnings.
Marshawn you are an IDIOT. I don't care if you don't know crap about Star Wars. When something is POPULAR, you use that!!! There's a reason that Nintendo sticks Mario into about 500 games that he has no business being in. There's a reason that companies reate identifiable mascots. IDIOT!!! Add in her pulling a Howie (and a Markus since she didn't do squat) and the writing was on the wall for her.
Brian's display, yeah that was something that a stockboy would assemble to promote a movie with cut-outs sold at the local party store. And saying that Vader would takeover the display...just wow and after how Randal told you how important it was to use characters that people know. Also Brian you dumb ass don't ever say that you are horrible at any business skill. And of course you dumb ass to live in New York and think you can commute in no time...
Yet I still didn' think that Donald could actually afford to fire both of them, his season is really gonna become short unless he does a NEB (Non-Elimination Boardroom, which would be something new for this show. he can just take that person's suitcase and all their money. Seriously that would probably work better here than it does on TAR.)
Lucky lucky people getting to spend the day with boyfriend Bill, poor Bill having to spend it with Clay though... Since the building was under construction I was half expecting a piece of plaster to fall on him

Not including Darth Vader in a Star Wars display, especially Episode III is rudiculous.
This is probably how they'd do "The Greatest Story Ever Told":
Brian: Who should we put in the center of the display?
Rebecca: How about this guy?
Marshawn: That hippie guy with the beard? No, I think Peter is the guy that'll draw more attention.
Randal: I think the other guy is more important in the film.
Marshawn: No. Besides he dies halfway through anyway.

Loooved the beefcake ad on the street during the cab ride. This game is clearly Randall's to lose.

How is it possible that these people don't know about sports OR star wars. In my mind, you are either into sports or a star wars geek.

Once again, Clay shows himself to be a big, whiny BITCH.
So happy that he didn't get exemption! Good for Alla for mentioning that Clay stole her ideas.
Marshawn? How could you think that backing out of doing the presentation 20 minutes before wasn't going to get you fired? Dumb, dumb, DUMB.
Brian, you live in NY and you didn't realize you need an hour to get to Chelsea in rush hour? Even DUMBER.
Trump, you rocked with the double-firing. Good for you.
I predict we'll see "no, you take Clay", "NO, YOU take Clay" fighting from both teams next week.
I also predict Alla and Randall as the final two.

Nov 10, 2005 @ 10:05 pm
Wow. Another double! I totally agree with this one. Ultimately, missing the meeting was the key thing that led to the loss, but bailing on the presentation was so bad TD could not let it go.
And Marshawn? She seemed so good up to this point, and then she went on that "I thought Brian should present, no, I thought Rebecca should present." I wonder if she thought Star Wars was trivial or beneath her. In which case, I am so glad she's fired.
I love Rebecca, Randal, and Alla, and Felicia is totally growing on me. Clay could have gained so many points by recognizing Alla was the creative force and allowing her to present her concept. Ultimately, it was like he was happy to let her run the show and be awesome and lead them to a win, but then he got worried that it would look bad that he did nothing. And this was before he learned from Bill not to respect his teammate. What fucking ever!

Holy crap, who put insane in Trump's water? He fired Marshawn!
Yes, I agree she wimped out by not doing the presentation. But why was that grounds for firing when the presentation wasn't what hurt them at all? o.o
Also: My condolences in advance, Jacob, for next week. I'll send you a toy or cookies or perhaps fudge if it makes you feel any better. (And I'm actually serious if you want to take me up on it. XD )

Thank God Marshawn was fired. When Brian was fired, I was pissed for about two seconds until I realized it was yet another multiple firing. Not only did Marshawn not step up, she flat out lied about it in the Boardroom. I was so wrong about her.

What the heck was Brian thinking??!? He knew he needed at least an hour in advance to get to the executive meeting due to Rebecca's injury alone! Can't say that I will miss him.
Marshawn disappointed me, but she could have saved herself had she said that she didn't do the presentation due to lack of knowledge of the subject. She had no prior knowledge of Star Wars.

That was a surprise to me! Two firees? I was screaming for Trump to keep going and call Clay down to the BR.
Marshawn, what happened? Was it that you just didn't know anything about Star Wars and couldn't fake it? And Brian, how could you screw up that meeting. If only one person was going to be fired, it deserved to be you.

Wow, those kids are dropping like flies.
So, only one out of eight people have seen any Star Wars films, apparently, and all other seven candidates have been asleep for most of the past few years (or decades, given that none of them knew to focus on Vader), completely oblivious to the extensive advertising campaigns that they could have drawn from.
The Capital Edge display looked a little cramped and claustrophobic.
A traipsing-around-an-unbuilt-building with Bill reward. Enthralling. They must have been so excited to not be receiving incredibly expensive clothing or jewelery or something.

Was anyone else as frustrated as I was that Marshawn never got the chance to explain herself? Carolyn tried to give her the chance at the very end, but Trump cut her off AGAIN! You could see Marshawn getting more and more frustrated that she couldn't just SAY what she wanted to say. Because you know she's eloquent and logical - she could have explained it, but no, Trump has to hear his own voice...
But man, she owned that cab ride! Brian just sitting there uncomfortably while she eloquently talked about how much he sucked. Awesome.

Nov 10, 2005 @ 10:05 pm
Just what I've been waiting for, FINALLY useless Marshawn gets exposed. The same strategy she's used on every other task flops when someone actually requires her to do something substantial. Way to sulk the entire time your team's giving the presentation, too. She had no problem presenting? Rebecca said she wanted to present? Not true that she said she didn't want to present? Bullcrap, bullcrap, bullcrap. And wanting to use that character that I don't even recognize as the focus of the display? Jesus H.
Giving them 15 minutes to get to the meeting, I refuse to believe that Brian lives in New York. His complaint about Randal getting off the hook with his exemption was bogus, too. Randal wanted to be PM. The rest of the team didn't want to him to be PM because of his exemption. And Brian, for God's sake, defend yourself in the cabride. Marshawn was just begging to see the back of your hand.
Finally a chink in Randal's armor: Wayyyyyy too into Star Wars. Was kinda cute seeing him go into total nerd mode, though. :D As far as the producers comparing the contestants to Star Wars characters, I thought bloated Trump really looked like Yoda. Too bad they didn't show a shot of Clay after a C-3P0 clip. I liked how his internal translator took in Bill's advice and turned it into, "Be a bigger bitch to my teammates. Check!"
The double firing was beautiful and totally unexpected, I was so sure that Trump would give Marshawn another chance. She sucked worse than Brian, though, and hasn't done squat all year.
More Alla ass-kicking. She did need to chill a bit with the squabbling in front of the client during the presentation. Alla vs. Randal in the finals FTW!

BTW Marshawn, Brian was in the cab beside you. He may be short, but he was there. You chose not to speak for the task. I guess you saved it up for the cabterview. Now I must rethink my final four.
I wonder if she thought Star Wars was trivial or beneath her.
I think she did. At one point during the BR, she referred to it as just a display. As soon as she said that, I knew she was history.

“I was quite excited to spend the day with Bill.” Yes, Adam, we can tell. <snerk>
I was surprised that Randall was so clueless about Anakin/Darth being the center of attention for the movie. I’m no fanatic, but I saw waaaay too many articles and interviews with Lucas about how, while Episodes 4-6 make you think that Luke is the central character; when you see Episodes 1-3, you realize that the 6-movie series was really Anakin’s storyline.
Oh, Marshawn. Dammit. She got so far and then imploded at the last minute. You should have been final 2, Marshawn! You coulda been somebody! (sigh)

So much to say! But first of all, I was never a Bill Rancic fan, but I didn't realize he was quite such a cliche-o-mat. Man talks like a bad self-enhancement tape.
Clay has another reason to get hissy with his team--if in fact it continues to be his team. I assume there will be another 'reshuffle' next week. Alla still the one to beat IMO. (I love Alla.)
Always interesting to watch a candidate fire herself on camera, eh Marshawn? I also loved how she had her defiant little blame party all by herself in the cab-ride of shame while Brian just kind of sat there and let her prattle. I always thought Marshawn was one of the better candidates. Until tonight.
And did Rebecca have flu or something? Those were some seriously feverish looking cheeks. I am concerned about the girl.
If there is anyone out there who would be kind enough to tall us Canadians about the preview for next week, I for one would be grateful.

I saw that double firing coming a mile away. The way Trump's been firing people, Randal should be the apprentice by next week.
Nicely done Marshawn. What a dumbass move that was. I can't stand the fact that she bailed because she didn't want to be accounted for the fact that the display was weak. Way to take the initiative and go above and beyond for your team. Idiot. Don't mind me. I'm bitter because I liked her.
As for Brian. Deciding to leave fifteen minutes before a meeting is someone who's really thinking. Just. *shakes head* Stupidity abounds.
Also, shut up Clay!
But oh my god, that cab ride was beautiful. I haven't laughed that hard since the cramped four cab ride a couple weeks ago. Marshawn talking about Brian like he's not there. Sitting smack dab in the middle of the cab while Brian's squished at the side, slouched and looking like he's coming back from a hard night of partying. Awesome.

Nov 10, 2005 @ 10:08 pm
oh, snap! Didn't see that one coming.
I was getting annoyed there that he was going to fire Marshawn and let Brian off the hook. Not for any love of Marshawn but just because Brian had made such a heinous error in judgement. Then he fires Brian and I'm like "thank God!" and then he fired Marshawn and I just cracked up. Beautiful!
Brian's error obviously cost them the task, so he was the first choice for firing, but I do think Marshawn deserved to go, too. At this stage of the game, with only four people on your team, and having contributed basically nothing to the task up until this point, it was just stupid of her to back out of presenting, especially when presentation is her strong point. I guess she was afraid of getting the blame placed on her if they lost, for giving a poor presentation, but I think that the choice to do NOTHING AT ALL was the wrong move, big time. It's a lot easier to blame the person who contributed nothing and in fact backed out of their biggest opportunity to contribute than someone who put in a good honest effort at their responsibilities, regardless of the outcome.
...Next week it looks like Trump fires someone while he's in the middle of talking about something else... like he gets interrupted by some snide comment. I hope so.
I'm still a fan of Marshawn, but I LOVE Trump's new slash and burn technique. LOVE IT. (I'm also a fan of the second most awkward cab ride in the history of the show. Marshawn talking about Brian while he's sitting RIGHT NEXT TO HER? Awesome.)
Nov 10, 2005 @ 10:07 pm
Oh, the irony.
Marshawn backed out of presenting for fear that the pressure of the task would all be on her. Basically, she was afraid she would not be up to the job and that she might fare better by blending into the background so she could point fingers if the team failed. That was an incredibly bad strategy, especially after Brian had already selected her to present. She should have been honest about her fears in the board room instead of taking the weasle's way out. She deserved to be fired along with Brian.

Nov 10, 2005 @ 10:08 pm
I truly don't get why Marshawn didn't present. Is it as simple as she sensed their display was really shitty and she thought she could fly under the radar when they lost if she wasn't the one who presented? Because otherwise, I just don't understand. I could understand more if she pushed Randal as the presenter since he knew about Star Wars but Brian? Huh? The what now?
Alla scares the bejesus out of me, I think she scares the bejesus out of Clay too and I love her a little bit for that :) She is a force to be reckoned with and I would not want to be the person between her and something she wanted.
Man, Clay is an ass. "I learned a lot from Bill, I learned not to respect my teammates anymore". Really? Strange that I didn't hear Bill say anything of the sort.
Next week: More music! Poor Jacob....

Nov 10, 2005 @ 10:08 pm
So let me see if this is right...
Alla and her cult thought Clay was going to ruin the task with his evil ways.
They LET Clay be PM.
Clay does what they wanted.
And Alla's response is that she should've been PM.
Then why wasn't she PM? Why didn't she take the responsibility? When she was in that Boardroom she sounded like a whiny brat whose D-list royalty parents cut off her trust fund. They didn't have to Clay an exemption. He voted against Markus getting an exemption. But she didn't have to make it all about ME ME ME ME.
And I have to love hearing FelishUGH and Alla tell us over and over that Alla did ALL the work. Of course we can believe them, because they're always unbiased opinion from Bim and Bo. Especially since all I saw Felisha do on this task was dress up in ugly outfits, which is what she always does.
This episode pretty much confirmed, IMHO, that nothing Clay says or does is good enough for the assholes on his team. At this point I'm just waiting for them to be fired, because they all came across as whiny, selfish babies. None of them have any chance of getting the job.
She is a force to be reckoned with and I would not want to be the person between her and something she wanted.
Brian deserved to go because they were screwed from the opening gate. They needed that meeting and he messed up.
Marshawn, Noooooooooooooo! You were stupid though, you should have given the presentation. No way would you have gone home if you did the presentation, Brian was gone the moment he decided it would only take 15 minutes to get to the meeting. All you had to do was say a few words and look like you knew what you were talking about.

That reward sucked. I'm also glad none of them voted to give Clay an exemption, he didn't deserve it.

She totally blew it. She didn't want to be held accountable for a lousy presentation based on something that she wasn't 100% comfortable with; instead, she passed the buck and got shown the door. She got caught trying to play the game, forgetting that this was also a "job interview".
Donald has been saying, for some time, that this was a "13 week job interview" - a change from the 16 or 17 week period of prior competitions. These mass firings are good - gets rid of the uninteresting and obviously weak posers, so that we can focus on the stronger candidates.
I see Randal and Alla as the final two.

I'm so disappointed in Marshawn. She should have directed the blame to Brian the genius who seemed to think it takes 15 minutes to get from Trump Tower to Chelsea. What the fuck. And he's from New York so he has no excuse. They lost because they had no idea what the execs where looking for because they missed their meeting. So all they had to rely on was fanboy Randall. And that is all Brian's fault.
Also, Randall should have been the presenter since he is the resident Star Wars expert.
I really don't like Adam. He just rubs me the wrong way.
Clay was a giant jackass and I'm glad they didn't give him an exemption. I hate it when someone other than the PM takes over so Alla really annoyed me. Why help him win and keep him a week longer when they could have just let him fail.

I'm glad Rebecca is still there. I'm upset Clay survived, but glad he has no exemption.
Regarding the preview for next week--would the editors really be that obvious, only showing one team which happens to get a bad review? Who else was on that team? I was only half paying attention... there was Rebecca, maybe Randal, who else?

What the hell happened with Marshawn? All along I thought she was one of the strongest condenders and then this??? I'm totally baffled.
As for Clay, why does the first "out" Apprentice have to be a guy who fufill the "gay men are pissy bitches" stereotype? So sad that that apparently *is* his actual personality and he's so unaware of it that he's unable to project anything else.
Third, what is with these tasks? Writing a song? What the hell does that do with making a living buying, building, and selling real estate (and declaring multiple bankrupcies as a sideline)? At least when Martha's Apprentii do marketing tasks, advertising tasks, cooking tasks, etc, that actually relates to what her business is about and who she is. When the hell was the last time anyone ever bought an album of Donald Trump singing? And please ghod, tell me it was "never" so I don't have to puncture my eardrums in fearful anticipation.
P.S. How is it other posts show up when everytime I click on this page, the topic is closed? How are y'all writing and posting before the topic opens? I'm confused.

Good for Rebecca and Alla. I like them both.
Meanwhile Clay takes damage ... hehe ....
Adam, Felisha, Randal -- relatively unimportant this week from what we saw.
Ridiculous decision by Marshawn. I have no idea what she was thinking either to pass on the presentation 30 minutes before showtime. Perhaps she was thinking "game strategy" when she needed to be grabbing any opportunity to show her stuff. All she needed to do was to do her thing, make the presentation, and only Brian would have been fired.
I was expecting more fireworks from Clay, but I guess, given the way his team voted down an exemption for him, the pressure will only build for the next episode.

The only thing that would have made this boardroom better is if they'd figured out a way to fire Clay even though he was on the winning team.
So glad Marshawn is finally gone because I've not seen her do *anything* to contribute to a win. The only thing she was good at was avoiding drama and keeping her cool in the boardroom. I'm not surprised that once the drama queens were booted that her true uselessness was brought to the forefront. She consistently played not to lose instead of playing to win, and this time it bit her in the ass.
Final two: Alla and Randall. At least that's what I'm hoping.

As a native New Yorker, I flinched when Brian allotted 15 minutes to make a trip downtown by car. There is no way, NO WAY that such a thing can be accomplished, and everyone within a 500 mile radius knows it. He deserved to be fired for that reason, because everything that followed flowed from that poor decision. If they had made the meeting, they would have been much more prepared, and then Marshawn would have been more comfortable about doing the presentation.
That said, Clay's a jerk.

Totally agree with Brian's firing- and Marshawn's. But why the hell did she bail? She said she was worried about it pointing to her if they lost and she did the presentation. Is that her real reason, when Brian has already painted a big old bullseye on his back? I don't get it. I'm disappointed in her.
Alla is so damn competent and so manipulative. She made sure there was no way for Clay and Adam to talk over what happened in the Boardroom and come to an understanding. She is wily. I wish I liked her better cos she is just all kinds of competent. What can't she do?

Marshawn managed to deftly slit her own throat. Girl, I had such high hopes for you! How stupid was it to say that you were the best presenter, yet not want to do the presentation?

Good Lord -- he's going to be down to firing Carolyn and George soon.
I did not expect Rebecca to make it past this round solely based on the spoilers, but I'm very glad that she is still around. I think Randal, Rebecca & Alla are definitely final four material.
Yeah, me too... I actually put my girl (Rebecca) down for getting fired on the Fantasy Game. But I'm glad she made it past that... that's the second slaughter in a row she's managed to survive. I definately think she's final four, and Alla will carry Felisha into the final four, too.
Just goes to show -- spoilers suck.
Anyway. It was an alright episode. Alla is pretty awesome, and Clay is pretty much a baby, but his time is almost up, so... you know. Felisha is still unimpressive, Randal actually disappointed.
