I liked this episode a lot: Brennan and Booth dropping everything to fly out and help Angela; Dr. Goodman and Hodgins purposely pushing Zach out of the nest; the beautiful desert scenery; the misdirection with the sheriff when he appeared to leave them in the desert; more screentime for Angela.

Brennan also seemed a bit more human in terms of her interpersonal relationships. I know that she and Angela have been friends for awhile but her constant attempts to comfort Angela showed more of the human touch than we have been used to seeing. She sensed that Angela needed her on a personal level as well as on a scientific one. I think that this is a step forward for Brennan.

I was dissapointed that we didn't see any follow up to the last episode (well, the one that was filmed before this one) We see no evidence that Booth had been shot or any hint of a more developed relationship between Booth and Brennan. I'm used to that in proceedural shows, but I would have like to have seen some sort of arc. As a stand alone episode though, it was good..good interactions between Brennan and Angela, and also Zach and what's his name (mind temporarily blank) Plus it was great that Booth came all the way out to the desert for Angela and Brennan. And at least there were a few suspects..not just one guy that you knew had to be the killer.
Pop Culture Freak
Actually, I thought we saw more chemistry between Booth and Brennan in this ep than we have in the past. So I thought there was a move forward from the last ep. The whole sequence when he shows up, throws his bag on her and then won't leave the room when she changes? Total chemistry. Throwing the bag on her was totally flirting. And then there were little moments where they touched each other throughout the episode. I'm just really enjoying their relationship more and more each week.

As for them both being wounded, I guess we're supposed to assume that weeks have passed. But I agree that it would have been nice to have some carryover.

The rivalry stuff between Zach and Hodgins was cute.

Mostly I just feel bad 'cause I think this episode was supposed to make us like Angela more, and I just don't. The whole thing with her 3 week a year boyfriend felt... fake. I don't know if I just don't relate to the actress or it's the character of Angela we've seen up until now (ie. dating different people all the time), but her storyline just didn't sit with me. It felt forced.

I did like the hug between Angela and Booth - not because I want anything to happen between them (no, no, no), but because it shows that the squints are becoming part of his family too.
lgtg
Now I know I love this show because they actually played a Patty Griffin song in this episode. Even though "Rain" is one of her more popular (re: radio played) songs, I still can't believe they played it. Then again I wasn't sure if any radio station outside of Austin played any of her stuff.
captain sam
I was NOT down with the music they played in the last ten minutes. I believe that was two separate songs, each with a caterwauling singer and some plaintive guitar work. I usually like the music they choose, but if I want to hear some guy wailing in falsetto, I'll kick a dude in the hoo-hoos. It was extremely distracting, and I don't even know what the songs were. The lady was more enjoyable than the dude, and that's the extend of my musical knowledge for the evening. Maybe I'm just not down with the music kids listen to these days. Get off my lawn, you little nuisances! I'm trying to enjoy Price Is Right in here!

I liked this one alot, probably because I think Angela is probably my favorite character on the show. She is in many ways the heart of the show (in the same way that Kaylee was the heart of Firefly) and I just love the actress. This episode didn't make me like her anymore but just confirmed my already considerable love for the character. The whole show seems to have really started to click on almost every episode since maybe episode 3 or so. Last weeks was my favorite though. DB and ED singing "Hot Blooded"? Priceless.

New Mexico footage always disorients me. It's the same desert I've grown up with, but I've never lived where there's not a mountain range on every horizon.

Not a bad episode, and I really did feel for Angela. Also loved that the pseudo-spiritual Kachina-kitsch artist was eevil. The name Walt Kellogg seemed really familiar; was there someone they were deliberately referencing?

Really hoping all the tension in the lab wasn't gently breaking it to us that Zack is leaving the show.

I believe that this episode does not actually directly follow the one where Booth was blown up. I think an episode was skipped and that next week's episode is the one that is supposed to go next. Sometimes I wonder if Fox just picks episodes out of a hat when deciding on the episode order of their show. (I might be wrong about this, someone please correct me if I am (not about the pulling out of a hat thing 'caise I know I'm right about that) but about the placement of this episode)

I loved the stuff with Zach! Though it was a little freaky because I was just wondering if Zach's position was some sort of school based internship or fellowship and if that meant it was temporary and I was thinking it would be interesting to see how they dealt with that. And then suddenly, that exact story appears. Maybe I have super powers.

And also, I am so excited about PIRATES! for next week.
Mack the Spoon
I, too, was worrying whether they're trying to tell us that Zack won't be here much longer. I hope not!

Thought this was a good ep. I agree that more obvious continuity would be nice, but I might see some if I squint just right. In any case, the ep came though with great character moments and lines, which is what I expect from the show.

Throwing the bag on her was totally flirting.
Nice to see that boys' tricks of the trade in junior high and high school still apply in adulthood. Hee! But, yea, TOTAL flirting! I really can't get enough of this relationship.

Moment that made the show for me:

Bones: "I want you to get federal on his ass"
Booth: <silly grins>

Meh on this episode, but this was making me crazy--who the hell packs five different clunky necklaces for an emergency trip out to help a friend whose boyfriend may be dead? Unless you have your outfits pre-coordinated complete with jewelry and shoes stowed away in your closet in ziplock bagged sets so they're easy to toss into the suitcase, is matching the necklace with the outfit even something a Bones type would be thinking about at that moment? [/end rant]

ETA: Was that, Drazi?! Okay, I so totally don't admit to knowing that.

KGSR love! Best radio station EVAH. /ot

And yes, I believe this episode and the next are switched from their actual order.

Pretty good episode. Excellent as a stand-alone and definitely on par with any of the other episodes. I'm enjoying how as the season progresses, the quality of episodes improve more and more. Much as I really like Angela, I could've done without her psychic-like vision of finding Dhani, though. Listening to the desert... right. Cute three-weeks-out-of-the-year boyfriend, though. And, we got to learn a little more about her.

Beautiful, beautiful desert scenery. And was it just me or did Brennan look particularly fetching with the brown desert hat and sunglasses? Booth in desert-style attire was hot as ever! I liked how Brennan tried to comfort Angela. Her interpersonal skills are definitely improving. It's no 'Hot-blooded' dancing but Booth refusing to turn around so Brennan could change. Hee hee... Doughnuts... mmmm [/Homer].

Why am I getting the feeling that Zack might be leaving the Jeffersonian? Is he just doing some sort of mentorship program there? Does that mean he's not an 'official' employee and can be cut after the program's finished? I don't want him to go! The Squint Squad won't be the same without him.

Next week's ep looks good. Yay! More Hodgins! And pirates and diving for treasure!
La Anah
I believe that this episode does not actually directly follow the one where Booth was blown up. I think an episode was skipped and that next week's episode is the one that is supposed to go next.

According the the Fox web site, this is correct. "Two Bodies in the Lab" was ep #115, and "A Skull in the Desert" was #117 (with #111 "Woman in the Tunnel" coming in between, of course).

I think the show is definitely getting better. It's like they've finally decided what they what to do with it. I still don't like Angela though.
GungHo
So... anyone notice Booth's magic mountain in the driving scene with Bones? I'm not one to point out technical gaffes, but that one was rather jarring.
BeowulfGirl
I really liked the two scenes with Brennan hugging Angela--I don't think we would have seen that earlier in the season.

One dumb question: Brennan's cell phone and Angela's car radio can't work in the desert, but the Sheriff's radio does? How far is the signal on one of those things?

Also, can you drive for ten hours (round trip) on one tank of gas in the Jeep?

Can't wait for next week!
lgtg
I was NOT down with the music they played in the last ten minutes. I believe that was two separate songs, each with a caterwauling singer and some plaintive guitar work.

For stupid reasons, I was not able to see the rest of the show after Angela saw her vision, so if the song had a man singing then it was definitely two songs put together.

KGSR love! Best radio station EVAH.

I moved away from Austin two years ago, and KGSR is one of the things I miss the most.

About Zach leaving, there is a lot of non-reality involved in Brennan being his advisor while he works on his Ph.D.(s) since the Jeffersonian is not an eductional institution. But accepting for the moment that she is, after he gets his Ph.D.(s), he could easily be hired as a post doc by the Jeffersonian, or simply as an employee, so he does not really have to leave.
NightMare
BeowulfGirl, a phone that runs off a car battery has a greater range than one that runs off a phone battery. Which is why OnStar has reception in places where your cell doesn't.

I liked it that it was Angela's turn to say, "I don't know what that means." Sounds so much less dorky when she says it. Also, nice continuity without constantly drummming it into our heads.

This show was okay - not as good as exploding refrigerators, but better than the earlier episodes. Holding your best friend's boyfriend's skull, major creep factor. I'm glad it's been renewed, and maybe they'll find a way to keep Zack.

Another *meh* episode.
And without enought Booth on it to make it interesting...
This show really became Db's addicted, in the sense that it needs him 24/7 on screen to make it enjoyable. (a girl can dream!)

Again the forced Brennan/Angela "friendship". Maybe it's ED with her wooden and monotone acting. And MC is not DB in terms of help for disguise her acting. Even Hanson agree with that when someone pointed her how consistant DB's acting was and how ED was changing from episode to episode, he said "she has to learn"..well we're at episode 18!. Some people can't keep the characterization for a long time, so they're good for movies but not for TV series or long time movies filming were they have to keep the character. Add to that the fact that the writers didn't have clear what they wanted Brennan to be. But mostly I blame ED for her choices.

Again, way similar plot and resolution to other forensic show and also some similar scene in desert (Crossing Jordan, again)

I think the problem is, except is a good episode (like Two bodies), and/or with a lot of DB for making it good, (again the series became to dependant on him when he's not the central character of the series), the normal episodes are kinda *meh* lately.
The show improved a lot since the pilot (not that it's to much to say) but still has its big flaws and sometimes the fact that some of us are really resigned to the lead actress' acting, to not pay too much attention to the "parallel science rules" they use and the silly plots, it's like you need a really good episode to keep the attention. Being annoyed at someone/something is an element of attention. How many times something pisses you off that you keep watching? So if you are resigned to those things that before annoyed you, it's like that element is not there... So there must be another things to keep you interested or watching. And in this case, like with the guy searching for his dad, and another episodes, those elements were not there: the humor, bickering, etc and all of that mostly with Booth (not even DB but the character itself that I really love) were not that present...
I watched it at my father's house with satelital tv and the two people that were with me one ended snoring and the other boring, and went to drink a cofee... I have to say that if that was the first Bones episode I watched, I probably wouldn't be there for the next one.

One point in favor: I liked the guys at the lab. and Angela's IDKWTM

HOpe next week will be better.
Ryen
I totally loved that our gang got worried when the local police guy drove off and left them in the desert. I had just turned to my husband and said "Now THAT would make me nervous".

I guess I'm in the minority. I don't want to see B&B together in a romantic way on the show. Not because I don't think those two have chemistry - I think they do. It's just that it seems whenever a show with mediocre writing (and as much as I love Bones, I have to admit I think the writing on the show is just middlin') goes the main character romance route, that the rest of the show gets lost in the process. I just am afraid this show will turn into every other show, ie story-lines like B&B have a misunderstanding, B&B fight, B&B make-up ... ad nauseum, will replace character development.

Its also the distance to the transmitter. Cell phones have to be within a few miles of a cell tower, which most companies decide is not commericially viable to build in the middle of the desert. Radio stations also tend to be around populations centers as to get maximum listeners. The Sheriff's radio is a public safety channel, so they are more likely to cover remote areas where there are few people, since that is likely where the trouble might be.

It was until I was reading TV Guide's Watercooler that Boothe's comment about "touring the hottest places in the world. Next stop Hell." could be taken as a Buffy/Angel shoutout, since Angel has been to Hell.

I also liked Brennan telling Booth they should rush the guy with the gun, and Booth is like lets not. It's funny that Brennan is the one who wants to get physical and beat someone up, and Booth is let's try to act like professionals shall we.

Ratings

Second in its timeslot (with DoND winning a little more). Still not demo or number of viewers

"Deal or No Deal" put NBC on top at 8 p.m. with a 9.9/16.
"Bones," 7.0/11,
"Out of Practice," 4.3/7 & "Courting Alex," 4.3/7,
"George Lopez," 4.3/7, and "Freddie," 4.1/6,
"America's Next Top Model." 3.2/5

By the way Lost was really hurt byt the pairing AI and Unan1mous (retention around 55% from AI)

As I said, no demo or viewers numbers yet

Not to mention the let's not get one of us killed part ;-)

I don't particularly mind the way the show plays Brennan's enthusiasm for violence for laughs ('cause they do succeed at making it pretty funny) but I hope they eventually get around to addressing it in a more serious manner. Brennan still seems very naive about violence despite her familiarity with its results; I would like to see her grow up.

My favorite part was Brennan waxing rhapsodic about how nothing is singular, so Angela will get another chance and Angela was all, "I have no idea what that means."

And Booth and Bones lurve each other. I think I might be a Bones noromo for the foreseeable future. I'm not really craving a sex scene from them, I just dig the love.

Angela is gorgeous. This ep made me think the actress might be part Native American...Nope, IMDB says "Mother is Chinese and father is Irish." Anyway, I could have lived without the 2500 hours of musical montage at the end, but all in all, twas good.

Bones really is a guilty pleasure. I heart it.

I dont think it was so much about Zach leaving as the fact that once he gets his doctorate he wont be Brennans research assistant anymore. He will be replaced by another grad student. He is as they said last night "enamoured" with Brennan and will never finish his thesis if it means he will be kicked off Brennans team and moved to somewhere else. Even if its somewhere else at the Jeffersonian he will be away from the tight little group that he is comfortable in and working on other things.

Any episode that starts off with Angela in a bikini and ends where her stealing Brennans "I dont know what that means" line is usually going to be fine with me

re: the sheriff's radio

I thought I heard whoever he was talking to say something about the signal from the satellite. So, was it a satellite radio?

I agree with you, but my point is that even if he is no longer her grad student, she could still hire him as a post doc, or the Jeffersonian could hire him as a researcher within Brennan's group. Truth is if she was a half way decent advisor, she would have already been bugging him to work on his thesis. At actual universities, it looks bad for profs if their grad students never graduate.

Which makes perfect sense to me. I keep thinking she looks like my sister in law who is half Pacific Islander and half European descent. Regardless of ancestry, I agree, she's lovely.

RE: the sheriff's radio
I heard "satellite" mentioned also. I just thought it was some sort of satellite-based radio or phone, with the main unit attached on his side or inside the vehicle.

Also loved the "get federal" line. I have some more thoughts and reactions that I'll post later.

There was a scene like that in the ep with the body pieces in the golf course. She knocks that guy to the ground and then says "I want to kick him" and Booth goes "okay, we try not to do that to prisoners in custody." I love the humor about that.

Yeah, I'm totally enamored with the lurve between Booth and Brennan. I don't need it to go anywhere else for awhile, but I just love the chemistry. It's by far what keeps me coming back each week.

I loved the entire interaction between the two of them there but I feel that it was in the wrong episode. (What episode it should have been in makes no difference to me) From the beginning of the episode up until the scene where Booth and Brennan are checking out the guide's trailer (where another fav line was uttered "No offense to you but, you're just a stodgy traditionalist when it comes to relationships buddy!") I was thinking, 'this is going to be a kick ass episode!'. Was anyone else disappointed when the whole tone shifted? Don't get me wrong, I know this isn't the Booth and Brennan show and isn't all about the snark/UST/angst/etc... between the two. I also understand that this episode was about Angela and the expansion of her character but shouldn't that have been the goal from the get-go? I guess what I mean is why wasn't the episode more "Angela-centric"? It wouldn't have been too hard to focus on her and the fact that this crime meant a hell of a lot more to her than the remainder of the characters. I don't understand why it has to be all about Brennan, all the time especially if TPTB claim that this show is about the characters and not the "job" so to speak. Don't get me wrong, I love all the characters especially Brennan but I was seriously having a Marsha, Marsha, Marsha moment when the direction changed so abrubtly and I thought back to how the episode opened. It went from sarcastic B&B goodness to mind numbing depression in about 2.2 and I still don't feel that we are any further in understanding Angela and what makes her tick. Considering how everything ended, it felt to me like the beginning, middle and end didn't really fit together and overall ended up being a very pieced together episode.

Brennan still seems very naive about violence despite her familiarity with its results; I would like to see her grow up.

This caught my eye when I was reading everyone's reactions and I find it interesting how differently I see this character compared to the general vibe I get from the majority of people here. Maybe I'm way too optimistic for my own good but I see her craving violence because she has nothing to lose. Isn't the point to her character to show how the people around her affect her and change her view of the world?

Actually Brennan being Zach's advisor is quite realistic. It's not uncommon for a qualified expert like Brennan to be an adjunct faculty member at a local university precisely for the purpose of supervising graduate students. It would be a nice inter-institutional collaboration and benefit both the Jeffersonian and the university. But I do agree that as Zach's supervisor, Brennan is remiss in not pushing him along. However, it really isn't the business of her work colleagues to interfere with her graduate student. They are way out of line in that. If they did anything, it should have been to express their concern to Brennan privately and let her handle it. I too hope this isn't a signal that Zack will be leaving.

I am a big fan of this show. The writing was not very good in the beginning, but I agree that it has improved a lot. I started watching it because I love David Boreanaz and would watch him in anything. The chemistry with him and Brennan is really enjoyable, and the rest of the cast is great.

They were two songs. Most songs don't have several minutes of silence in the middle. *g* (There's probably some John Cage song that does, but the day I hear a John Cage song on network TV is the day I eat my hat.)
Flying Penguin
Call me crazy but I don't watch these forensics/crime/detective shows for the casefiles and the forensic methods but the characters and how they're impacted by these convoluted messes. And that's why I love Bones. It's such a lovely guilty pleasure that actually gives me an interesting backdrop and all those character tidbits that I crave so much (hence, why I call this my SoftCSI).

I'm usually annoyed by "I can feel her spirit here!" kind of stuff but I really bought that ending with Angela. The entire episode was so well done, really explaining why we should give a damn about this 3-weeks-a-year guy, and that sheriff was just amazing. Bit by bit I could see how he was just tearing up inside over his sister and made me care about him and his sister-- two complete strangers to me.

Getting back to the fact that I don't really care about the casefiles on these kinds of shows, I liked that the episode ended with the big focus on Angela using what she'd learned from her boyfriend about the desert to find Danni, rather than how exactly the boyfriend was killed.

BTW, "Rain" by Patty Griffin is just lovely!

Angela isn't my favourite character; I mean, great as part of the Squint Squad but not so interesting to me as an individual entity. You know, just a regular ol' flirty gal with some crazy stories and whatnot. But I liked how in this episode we got to see her "home" and see how her artistic abilities and background make her who she is. Good job, Bones!

And, of course, as already mentioned, absolutely delicious Booth/Brennan moments in this epi! When the sheriff was driving them out to the desert, anyone else catch Booth's profile in the backseat just flying out of his seat?! Hilarious!!

Now I'm super-antsy for next week's episode: immediate post-"Two Bodies in the Lab" B/B!!
LisaM
I think that Dr. Goodman's comment that Zach is "enamored" with Dr. Brennan was dead on which is why Bones' rebuke to Zach about taking so long with his work appeared to hurt him so much. I don't think that they are setting up a scenario to write out Zach; rather, they are addressing his stagnation as Dr. Brennan's assistant at the expense of his own career. Interesting how Goodman and Hodgins, who were at odds recently, are working together to push Zach from the nest.
AnnieF
I found this episode rather meh. Back to the clunky dialogue, unfortunately. And I thought it was really unfortunate that in one of the Angela/Brennan scenes, when Brennan's trying to comfort her, she says that Angela's 3 weeks a year with her boyfriend was "more than I've ever had." Way to make someone else's grief all about you, Brennan. I already have a hard time finding Brennan sympathetic, and stuff like that doesn't make me like her any better.

One thing no one's mentioned yet: Clayton Rohner, who played Wayne Kellogg, the faux artist/counterfeiter, is an Angel alum. He played Lee De Marco, the Vegas destiny thief in "The House Always Wins."

And is it just me, but didn't Brennan have a live in BF in the first episode? She kicked him out, but still -- WTF?

I took it to mean Brennan had never experienced that kind of emotional connection. Somehow Professor Slimey and Mr. You're A Tiger In Bed don't strike me as the romantic types.

This is another ill-writiing about Brennan. The only impression I got from the writers sometimes is "I don't/didn't know what I want/wanted Brennan to be so I write contradictions all the time". It's like they started with something and they're changing it time to time to something more simpathetic or funnier or that it fits to the point the want to make (in this case that Brennan can be human and support a grieving friend). My brother said that the charater is not linear and he's right. And this has nothing to do with the airing out of order from some episodes, because the ones that were correct caused similar impressions. It's like Brennan has more than one personality and it's a total put off: she's the central character. You can modificate some things after the pilot, but what the character is, the essence, it's mostly the same (See House, Lost, CSI, X-files, ATS, etc)

And the way she was upset over her proffesor, it was obvious that there were feelings there, and also her boyfriend had a TV in her house so I think it was a long and serious relationship.

Brennan did say something like, "He was yours, completely yours, for three weeks out of the year.... that's more than I've ever had." (Sorry - can't remember exactly). So I got the impression that one or more of the people she's had relationships with weren't completely there. Emotionally or physically or something. Or maybe they just weren't exactly what she wanted. I dont know. Headaches are bad and make me think weird.

I enjoyed the episode over all. I liked the little shippy moments, liked that it was Angela-centric (& thought the actress did a good job), liked the actor who played the Sheriff & liked all the squints moments. I could have done without the whole 'mystic' angle, but it wasn't bad for what it was.

In the previews does Bones slap someone? And do we know who she slaps?

I've watched this show off and on this year. It's OK. It is good filler while I wait for VM to come on. Last night I was thinking as DB walked around in a wife beater that this would be a must see for me if I could count on DB taking his shirt off every episode.

First question: yes. Second question: I do, because I have the casting sides. Since you asked, I'll tell. But these extra details are still spoilers: She takes a swing at "Branson Rose" (think Richard Branson, but older and more aristocratic in style), who is played by Robert Foxworth (a regular on Falcon Crest and has guest starred in a number of TV series since. So cool that he shows up here). The scene happens late in the episode, along with Bones firing his gun in a different scene.

Spoilers for the episode are here (post #596) (and then scroll down a few posts to additional spoilers). And the character name "Roger Hardwicke" has been changed to "Giles Hardwicke."

Some of the recent episodes haved deviated from the sides a bit. The general gist is there, but scenes may get deleted or significantly modified. There were some noticeable differences in last night's episode. Sides are pre-production drafts of the scripts and changes normally do happen, but other shows tend to vary less than Bones has been lately.

I agree with Flying Penguin about the sheriff. The way he reacted about his sister made me care about him, and also the way he disagreed with Angela when he told her Eric couldn't have done better. Made me wonder if he's going to be sad that she probably wont go there again, now that there's no Eric for her three weeks. I looked him up on IMDB, and he was in a second season Buffy episode, (though not with Angel) - Bad Eggs as one of the Gorch brothers.

I didn't take it like that. Angela was upset that she had squandered a good relationship by only partaking in it 3 weeks a year and I think Bones was trying to say that despite having been in longer relationships, she'd never had a connection (he was yours, all yours...) like Angela had with this guy. She was saying that Angela shouldn't feel like she threw away an opportunity.

Count me as someone who loved when Bones wanted Booth to "get federal on his ass" and Booth liked that. It's like they understand their relationship - what each is good at. Bones will do the forensic stuff, and Booth will do the "getting federal" on someone's ass.

Total flirting with those two. Of course, to hook them up might make the show crap - it's the tension and the anticipation of it all that makes it work. You're always watching, waiting for something flirty or some sort of touch or look. Like that episode where Booth blows up? When he saves Bones and she throws her arms around him and he's just holding her? Awesome moment.

I didn't recognize Mr. Bad Guy Artist as Drazi (Charmed) but I did recognize him - only as "Rick" from that cheesy 80's flick, "Just One of the Guys." I was all, Hey I know who that guy is!

Liked the overall show except the mystical part was a little hokey. If Angela had been on peyote at the time, I would've accepted that part more.

And how can Bones be so clueless? I mean, she dresses well so obviously she goes out in public at SOME point! Unless she orders everything online, which would totally be a Bones move. But still. Can she really be so clueless to the outside world? Who is Dr. Phil? I don't watch Dr. Phil but I know who he is. If someone had said, "Don't you know Dr. Phil, he got popular on the Oprah show?" do you think Bones would have said, "I don't know who that is" about Oprah?

Of course, I liked how Angela threw the whole "I don't know" thing back on her.

Good episode.

OK episode. While I feel that the writers are being lazy with Angela's character, the actress is very good. She particularly impressed me when Booth was asking her questions and her voice was breaking and she literally looked like she was trying not to cry. Well played, Michaela Conlin. I also like both how ED and MC look - they are both beautiful without being cookie-cutter and toned without looking starved. Hell, ED has actual hips, something I thought was forbidden on television. And, Booth, sweetie, tank tops are an excellent choice. Now dump the shirt you wore were on top of it and it would be even better. For me, at least. I've also noticed how this show always looks pretty lately. Nice cinematography, guys.

And the Angel and Buffy guest stars continue to pop up. Not only was Kellog (the shady artist guy) played by Clayton Rohner, the casino owner from the S4 Las Vegas episode of Angel, the Sheriff (James Parks) was in Buffy S2. He played Tector Gorch, of the redneck-vamp Gorch brothers, who wondered why Buffy wasn't slaying Angelus and how come Angelus was about to make him blush. (Sorry, but that exchange from Bad Eggs always cracks me up.)

Well, Brennan does know movies from the '80s. And she has a pretty sweet music collection. So, I obviously can't defend the cluelessness by saying she's from another planet. :) It's the '90s and beyond pop culture stuff that tend to leave her clueless. She doesn't even own a tv set and I don't see Brennan taking off to go watch movies unless someone dragged her. Maybe she shunned the entire world after her parents disappearance and just concentrated on her studies, her work, and her career?

The Dr. Phil thing didn't bother me. I thought it was funny. The good shrink of tv-land really isn't as popular as one would think. I have a cousin who thought he was my doctor when I brought him up in a conversation. Now, had it been Oprah that Brennan catch-phrased, then I would call 'bullshit'. But, I bet she might know of Oprah. I mean, even most people from third-world countries know of Lady 'O'.
