OK, so am I wrong? Joe doesn't exist in season one, right?
I think Joe is like GA's typical Season One audience -- interested in the characters because he sees them every week, but not necessarily willing to devote more time than necessary to them. In retrospect, I think it's insane that Meredith met McDreamy in the bar across the street from the hospital, then was shocked to find out he worked there, but I like the idea that Joe watched it all happen with the same smirk we've been wearing.

I was thinking about starting a Joe thread but was trying to come up with his last name. Do we even know it?
And I don't believe that there was a Joe in S1, which makes his sudden prominence all the more confusing.

That's true, but the thing is, he showed up in the S2 episodes that were supposed to be in S1. So really, they didn't just make him up a year later. Which makes the question of why he wasn't there before even more confusing, really.

He's psychic? How?
He's rocking that brain surgery scar.

I looked it up on IMDB and Steven W. Bailey, who plays Joe, was actually the Anesthesiologist in episode 8. I guess they liked him enough to bring him back as Joe.

Did anybody else notice that he and Webber have the same C-shaped scar? Just me? OK...

Someone help me out here, it was driving me crazy but isn't Joe the guy from My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance? I like the character but I'm having trouble getting past his MBFOF image.

He is, and Thank God, I don't watch reality TV. I got over it pretty quickly. I like him as Joe. He's quirky.

I like him despite MBFOF. He turned out to be really cool.

I'll second that. Did I miss something?
I like Joe. I'd like to see more of his relationship with Alex...maybe Alex would open up more to someone less intimidating.

He's not psychic. The guy with the brain tumor (the one who played Kyle on Judging Amy) thought he was psychic. I don't know where the whole Joe's psychic thing started, unless I missed something.

Can we change this thread title, please? Joe is not the patient who was psychic, he's the owner of the Emerald City Bar.

Both had brain surgery. That's the way they make the incisions.

Yeah, the thread title is just going to confuse everyone.

So Joe is gay. Have to say, I really didn't see that coming and I wonder what the writers will do with this revelation.

Probably drop it, although I hope they don't. I think what I loved about it was that it was a non issue with the interns. Refreshing when a lesser show would have gotten all giggly about it.
He sure has good taste in men. Rowr.

If anyone wants an inside peek into the brain of Joe, I'd suggest visiting his
blog!!
**Warning!!** His newest entry contains spoilers for next week's episode!! (or the writers are just trying to throw some red herrings our way, who knows.
A point of interest in the same episode: he talks about how he met Walter!! It's way cute. And I'm not going to say I didn't leave him a comment, as if he was a real person...

Yep...that's where he's from. My sister mentioned it to me a couple of weeks ago and now I know why he looks so familiar. I didn't watch the show though (well except for like the last ten minutes of the series finale) so I knew he looked familiar.

Joe in the OR! I watched episode 1x06 today, If Tomorrow Never Comes and Joe the Bartender is TOTALLY in the operating room! When they are removing the giant tumor from the lady, if you watch the whole scene right after Burke leaves and everything, blood sprays McDreamy in the eye, there's a doctor who says "Pressure's dropping" and its Joe! Then like 30 seconds later you see him move something! Joe!

I was very proud to recognize Joe the Bartender from My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance.
Then I realized what that meant.
Now I am ashamedproud to have recognized him.
Sort of like saying "Tartlet" and seeing who gets the Friends joke...
