Even if by "I'm gay" you mean you're a lesbian (I assumed you meant you're a gay man), beautiful is beautiful.
marymaryIm gay-lesbian. But as you said, beautiful is beautiful. And IW is, undeniably, one beautiful man.
I really liked him in this episode. If you ask me, Burke is the real "McDreamy."
bugbrain
I think I read somewhere that IW was considered to play McDreamy. Not sure if this is true, but I for one am happy he's Burke. IW does "strong, silent" pretty nicely. I wouldnt want him doing the "bewitched, bothered and bewildered" McWeenie for sure.

I gotta say I adored Burke during this epp. his espression in the elevator when he brrought up the key just being a key, "...or we could start thinking about moving in together." was priceless.

I hate to admit it, but I was all, "Key ME! Pick ME!" when Xtina just gave him the 'look'... the one where she just stares at him as if he's crazy.
I'll take Burke over McWeenie anyday. No contest. Tall, dark, hot, smart and sensitive? Hell yeah. And... he cooks.
Kill me now.

medicminx, I so agree with you. After having seen the development of Burke's character and Shepherd's character last season and so far this season, there is no comparison between the two as to which is the better man -- Burke wins, hands down. Burke is wonderful, sexy, brooding, brilliant, honest with Cristina about his feelings and his intentions, unafraid of commitment, a gentleman with integrity, and a man who can operate as skillfully in the kitchen and bedroom (judging by Cristina's happy squeal as he carried her in there) as he does in the operating room. What's NOT to love about him?
We already know he can be arrogant, distant and God-complex on the job, but this is a man who not only talks the talk but walks the walk. His arrogance is backed up by his surgical skill. I'm not excusing that attitude but I can understand where it comes from. What's more important to me is the way he treats the woman he loves and there's no arrogance there.

Yup, he might just be as close to perfect as any guy can get.
Kill me more.

I must say I adored the look on Burke's face when he realized that Christina was staying for breakfast. Also I loved how he seemed to come immediatly when Christina needed him with that patient as well as the fact that he was apperantly the first doctor she thought of.

His threatening to leave Cristina if she doesn't do what he wants, perhaps? Define their relationship, tell the Chief, move in, etc. (I defended this point better in the Burketina thread, if anyone is wondering where I'm coming from with this)
Personally I'm more of a McDreamy kind of girl. I know he lied about the wife thing, and Burke hasn't done anything near as asshole-ish as that, or even close. But I really don't enjoy his God complex. Sure, if he is confident at work, that is understandable at work because he's a kick-ass surgeon. I just don't like that God complex transferring to his outside life. Mais c'est seulement mes deux cents.

Vous parlez Francais? Moi aussi! Ehh..not really, I can only do high school French, I have no talent for languages.
Back on topic: Burke does seem to be pushing Xtina quite a bit to fast, but hey, if a man can get up in the morning, make you breakfast, does laundry, and keep his house that clean, either he has OCD or he's the perfect guy.
I think Burke would be the kind of father that would say to his children, "Why are the play socks mixed in with your school socks?".

Yeah me too. I took French til grade 10. I randomly break out into French because I think it's fun, but then I'll realize I'm talking to an
actual French person and I have no idea what they are saying because they talk too fast and use proper grammar and all that. I figure if I break out le francais on the boards, I can re-read stuff as many times as I need to before responding. And I can go get a dictionary.
Topic, what?
if a man can get up in the morning, make you breakfast, does laundry, and keep his house that clean
...okay fine. I guess that kind of makes up for the pushy. But he still bugs me.
"Why are the play socks mixed in with your school socks?"
See, to me, that bugs. They're all gonna be washed the same way anyway, and are people really paying attention to socks? Haha I know you were just using it as an example, but I can totally see Burke saying that too and it just gels with everything about him that bothers me. One day I'll be able to put what bugs me into words, but that day is not today.
If it weren't Christina Burke was dating I'd totally agree with you on the whole he bugs and he's pushy thing but because of Christina's personality it works. He pushes her she relents a little or at least makes him see that she never will on some things. Christina has a very strong personality and she's more than a little for lack of a better word hard-headed, she's not gonna listen to anyone unless they push a little. Since Burke has only been pushy about things such as their relationship growing and Christina telling him more about herself it's been okay, mostly because she's been more or less fine with it and still completely competent and sure of her ability to say no if it gets to far. Or I'm totally fanwanking it because Burke is supper hot and McDreamy is starting to annoy me.

Or, he has OCD and still is the perfect guy. My heart did mini-cartwheels when Xtina discovered his books arranged in Dewey-decimal order.
*sigh*
Any man who has intimate knowledge of cataloging AND regularly exercises AND can cook...is a keeper, OCD or no OCD.
