Fellow Gizzie shippers, let's hope the new ship name catches on! We're going global!
ETA: I've suggested over at the George thread that our official shipper slogan should be "Gizzie or bust!" Anyone else got any smart (ass) ideas?

I don't know... I think it's gonna take George a while to get over his Meh-lovin' stage.
Maybe next time she does too many tequila shooters, she could hurl in his lap?
Nah, 'cause he's the kind of guy who'd make sure she got to the bathroom and then, he'd hold her hair back for her. Eww.
I'm still hoping she meets a hot guy from some other department, but y'all are right. Not gonna happen. And yes, more baking sessions at the House of Interns, please!

So is Gizzie said with a hard 'g' (as in go, grant, guard, etc.) or a soft 'g' (as in giraffe, gerund, George, etc.). If it's the latter, I really need my brain to be scrubbed out with bleach about now.
whatthedeuce

Nope, it's the latter! That's why I apologized for coming up with it!

It wouldn't be as amusing if it was Gizzie with a hard 'g'. That would just sound like '"gizzard," and there's nothing fun about that. We're here to snark so we need a shipper name that's conducive to that end.

Sorry is I sounded as though I was criticizing the name. Quite the contrary, I applaud your spunkiness in selecting this name. Sorry, I again couldn't resist. Again, I need my brain scrubbed out with bleach right about now.

No offense taken! I didn't think you sounded at all critical. Now go scrub your brain before we go making more nasty jokes on Gizzie's behalf.

I totally forgot that George was even into Meredith, and now I full on HATE the idea of a relationship between George and Izzie. (Gizzie...heh.) I do not want to have to suffer through him secretly longing after that self absorbed twit if he has a real woman like Izzie, and you just know it would turn out that way.

Nov 3, 2005 @ 1:24 pm
Oh God, he'd have to get the hell over Meredith first before he hooked up with Izzie! No one is allowed to want any other woman if they have Izzie as their lady! We want an honest and faithful George for our girl. We will accept nothing less (and neither should Izzie)!

Go Team Gizzie! HEE! I don't think that name will ever be not funny. Congratulations, whatthedeuce! You have made my day.
I totally agree that George needs to get over Meredith (aka Meh, aka Dr. McDrunky) before he starts *fingers crossed* anything with Izzie.

Congrats to you, sayhello (Cute name!), for having your day made. Thanks for letting me make it!
I want him to get over Meredith before he gets with anyone even if it's not Izzie, which we all know it most likely won't be anyway.

I like Izzie for her compassion and her spunk. I think the Gizzie (tehee) relationship could be a really good one. But everyone is right, George has a long way to go before getting over Meh. Or so it would seem. To be honest though except for that "He'd be crazy not to chose you" or whatever scene, I forgot he had the hots for her. Besides just because two people are nice doesn't necessarily have to mean that the relationship will automatically be boring. Or does it?
I guess that's why I don't loathe the idea of I/A, though it's not far off, especially if he keeps treating her like ass. Before the date when he was being all nice, and we were getting good insight into why he is the way he is I found it more palatable. If he comes clean with Izzie, you know, let's her in it will be kind of typical. Too good girl changes his bad boy ways, and that storyline can be just as boring because it's overdone. If they do go that route I don't think I'll make too much of a fuss as long as when she ready to be in a serious relationship it's with George. Ok that makes sense in my head. Hope you can follow

(Sorry for the kind of off topicness in relation to the current discussion!) I had to drop in to say that I really only watched the first season through the promo's week by week kind of inferring what was going on, and they totally made me think the show was all Meredith/McDreamy all the time, every scene or bust! One of the reasons I was so intrigued the first time I watched it was how fleshed out the "secondary" characters were.
Izzie has rapidly evolved into my favorite character just because of how well she is acted, (not saying the other characters are badly acted, her style just appeals to me I guess) and well she interacts with all of the other characters. I love how she can be compassionate with Meredith over all of the man problems, but at the same time be willing to playfully push George around.
I haven't seen Season One, and looking through the quote thread makes me regret that more every day. Some of the quotes from her sound like they must be awesome in context.

Tabulous, I got the basic gist of your message. Just kidding, I got it all. I could totally put up with this Alex/Izzie B.S. if I knew for sure that Gizzie would happen somewhere down the road (onscreen and before cancellation of course, not just in my head as the idea's already been firmly rooted there). I hope they don't turn Alex all good guy on us once he Izzie really get together because that's so trite and boring.
Back to Izzie herself, I love that she teases George so much. I want her to tease him thinking he likes someone else when it's really her he's crushing on. That would warm my heart muchly!
And I'm very surprised that a great number of the submissions in the quotes thread are attributed to Izzie. I love her and all, but I never realized others thought she was funny as I did.

You see, that is the attractiveness of the character.
You go, huh, model, right, doctor, yeah, whatever... and then she spits out:
Hateful! Hateful! Hateful!
or:
My loans are paid off!
and you think, hmmm, now there's somebody with some substance.
I think one of the other reasons I love Izzie is the fact that she hasn't had an easy life- the trailer park thing from last season, etc. It's the one thing that sets her apart from her fellow interns; she seems to have more of an idea how it is out in the 'real world'... as opposed to Meh and her neverending wah-wah-wah-life-is-so-cruel.
Meh may eventually give up the tequila shooters, but give up whine? Never.
