I just love McDreamy. In the last episode when he was treating the people stuck on the pole, the way he really looked upset. He seems to care about his patients.

Not to mention, he's really hot.
misseileen310
he is totally super-hot.

also... McSteamy!
tvjunkie2008
I love McDreamy, but I don't think he's the hottest guy on the show. He's one of my favorite characters though.
Paradise
A whole thread dedicated just to drool over McD! Oh baby! What have I done to deserve this!

PD is one of the finest actors around and he's also one of the sexiest! I love love love him in the role as McD!
LingPetunia
While I think PD is absolutely hot and is a good actor, his character has annoyed the hell out of me lately. I really think he enjoyed being sought after by two women (which man wouldn't?) a little too much.
tvjunkie2008
I think he enjoyed it too much as well. And, I know it was a hard decision, but man they drug that out forever.
Beffers

Yep and it STILL ain't over...not for a loooooonnnggg time either.
Gracelessly
I kind of like him going a bit grey. It reminds me of Jon Stewart, and if reminds me of Jon, it's all good.
Beffers
I can't decide if it is grey or they are doing something weird to his hair to make it appear lighter. Either way, he is still smokin' hot
Meaghan Edwards
This guy's right between Bailey and George as my favorite character. He's not just McDreamy -- he's McSteamy! I really liked him in this Sunday's episode.
flux
Oh man, we get our own PD thread. This can be good or bad. Good because I have something to look forward to and bad because I'll spend all my time here. But PD is hot, he's very hot.
DolfinWings
The only quib I got about Dr.McDreamy/ McSteamy is his eyes.

When every they look at anyone, and I mean anyone! They always have this:

"I'm totally is love with you, lets go to bed "look.

But then, that why I love PD.
flux

"I'm totally is love with you, lets go to bed "look.
Yes, yes, he does have great eyes. The most experssive eyes I've ever seen. That's why he's so great even behind those huge-ass surgical mask. I literally melt whenever the camera focus on them.

I totally understand what you are saying. I think McD has been a complete a-hole in regards to (1) not telling Mer he was married and (2) telling her that all he has to do is sign the divorce papers and they are "free" and then giving her a speech about his 11 year marriage and eventually deciding to stay with wifey.

That pissed me off beyond belief. If he wasn't sure about what he was going to do, he should have never given Mer hope that he might actually "choose" her.

However, because I am totally "in love/lust" with PD I find that I give his character more leeway then what he might deserve. Also, while McD sucks when it comes to relationships, he's a very caring doctor and he has a great bedside manner.
happy2b
Because it can't be said enough...........his eyes.
NotPaula
We have Can't Buy Me Love on DVD and I finally watched it again. I can't believe that PD morphed from this to this . Yowza! The geek shall inherit the earth...

Like a fine wine, PD just gets better with age. The gray hair he is getting just makes him sexier. Also, he’s a really nice guy and family man in real life, which just puts him in another stratosphere when talking about how sexy he is. *wipes drool off of desk*

While I think that McD made some bad decisions that made this whole love triangle that much more painful for everybody involved, I really think that this whole thing is forcing him to grow up and become a man - maybe for the first time ever. I see this character as being really truly TORN - it's just ripping him apart that after allowing himself to become emotionally involved with Meredith his "Satan...but still the love of your life" wife has now decided to pursue him. THERE'S the character I don't have much respect for yet - she seems to be pretty self-absorbed and hasn't shown much respect for the wounds she's causing to Meredith or even to McD - who is understandably hurting at having to tear himself away from Meredith to go back to a wife who CHEATED ON HIM!! He's chosen to respect his marriage vows and my vow is this - Addison had freakin better appreciate it because she got what she wanted at very great expense to a lot of other people. All this to say, PD has done a phenomenal job of conveying the emotional turmoil and I'm buying it one hundred percent. I hurt for him, because I deeply understand his situation. And yeah, I'm aware this is a flippin' TV show.
tvjunkie2008
See, if he was really over Addison, he should have signed the divorce papers and told Meh he was married to begin with. It really just seems like he strung her along and then was like, "Oh sorry, I know I forgot to tell you I'm married, but I'm going back with my wife."
Bella Lumina
Wow, I just realized that we have our own board now! Color me psyched...

I just re-watched poor McDreams tearing up in the elevator, and I teared up right along with him. He may have exhibited some seriously asshole-esque behavior to Meh this season, but I love that PD can still sell it to me. I love me some emotional and conflicted Dempsey!
tvjunkie2008
The elevator scene was amazing and I actually felt sympathy for him.

But Addison wasn't involed with Meredith. Any wounds that Meredith has are purely Shepherd's fault. Like I said in Addison's thread, I like Shepherd but he needs to learn that ignoring problems doesn't make them go away. If Addison hadn't shown up, exactly when was he planning on telling Meredith and filing for divorce? After he'd moved in?

That said, I like him because he is like a lot of guys: nice guy at heart but essentially clueless when it comes to dealing with women.

And he's pretty damn hot, too.

OMG !!! Word, Word and Word times infinity. I have always refused to climb on the "McD is a dick" bandwagon for this very reason. I have always thought that McD is one of those kissed-by- the-Gods Chosen People. He has everything. Spectacular good looks, amazing skills in bed, a warm and fulfilling family life, a great sense of humour, breathtaking wit and charm, a laid back ease and charm that makes him a spectacular success with women, a real depth and profundity that makes other deep and profound peeps warm to him...and O yeah death-defyingly brilliant skills in the OR that turn him into a life granting God on a regular basis.

Over the course of his life, he has to put so very little effort into being happy and brilliant all of the time, because he IS so happy and brilliant all of the time. And while all that may make his life easy and painless, it doesn't really equip him all that well for life throwing you a curve ball.... where all of a sudden all that you think you knew as a fixed given is taken away from you and you are forced to start over...grow up as you will. So thats what I think we are witnessing at SGH....McD facing real adversity/curve balls for the first time in his life and how well he does or doesn't handle them will determine what manner of a man we will get to see in the years/seasons to come. I for one am fascinated.

BTW no, his breathtaking good looks have absolutely nothing to do with my opinion...nope.....nada....none whatsoever.

Damm..Did that sound even REMOTELY convincing ? Nah, I didn't think so.
slapdragon
I see your point, truecrystal, that Addison wasn't involved with Meredith - which I think you're saying excuses her from any pain Meredith's feeling - but do try to remember that Addison WAS involved with ANOTHER MAN before McDreamy ever hooked up with Meredith. What I'd kinda like to see now (maybe this should be its own forum, because I have a lot of "what I'd like to see") is that person showing up and Addison being forced to face her own choices and demons. I still don't like her, and like I said earlier she had better appreciate the fact that McD chose to honor her and their marriage, because it didn't come lightly to him and part of him will still belong to Meredith in some way. Although the scene with him and Bailey, as she's about to go out on her anniversary date and he's agonizing by himself in some waiting room, was great - Bailey told him "you already know what you're going to do" or something to that effect. I guess about the only props I can give Addison is that the arrival of her character has shown us many layers to McD that we hadn't previously seen. And now we've seen them and she can drive her butt to Vancouver or whatever it takes to get her out of the picture!!

Oh my God... thank you for posting that link. His daughter calls him "Poppy"?? How freakin cute is that???? I LOVE IT! I swear every interview I read or hear about PD he's ALWAYS talking about his daughter. There just isn't anything sexier (in my mind) than a man that loves his family and isn't afraid to talk about it.
Beffers

Oh my God... thank you for posting that link
Word. Am kinda pissed that hes not gonna be the actual sexiest man on the cover tho' coz that would rawk !

Vote PD for the Sexist man in 2005. Vote now. PD is currently second behind Matthew McConaughey.

It's so hard to resist the man who has the sexiest bedroom eyes ever!!!

Vote early and vote often !!!!

Screw the principles of a fair and democratic vote when faced with the prospect of PD being the 2005 Sexiest Man Alive. Democracy can be very over rated at times.

I am insulted that Kanye West is in the same category as PD

So yes, I deleted cookies so I could legally vote again. And, I just realize my spelling sucks, so it's the "Sexiest man of 2005" not the other thing I posted before. I guess nobody caught it but me. The link is here if anyone wants to vote.

I am insulted that Kanye West is in the same category as PD
And Owen Wilson is there too. I like Owen but he's no sex symbol.

so I could legally vote again
Most excellent. Anarchy Rules

Don't get me wrong, I think PD is absolutely hot and being a good actor and seeming like a genuinely nice person just adds to his attractiveness. However, I just can't vote for him over Matthew McConaughey . He seriously is the sexiest man alive to me.

And how is Orlando Bloom in this category?

I never got the Matthew McConaughey is so hot thing. He's just so... meh.
I think Orlando Bloom is hot, but he definitely appeals to mostly younger audience, and Sexiest Man Alive is supposed to be for every age. Oh, and who is Daniel Dae Kim??
From that particular list, PD for me is 3rd after George Clooney and Brad Pitt. He definitely got sexier with age. The first episode... I mean who wouldn't get hooked on the show after seeing the opening scene??
LingPetunia
Oops, didn't see Antonio Banderas on the list. Sorry, PD is probably 4th on my list out of those ten guys. I think he's hot and all, but I don't even think he is the best looking guy on the show. I'd take Burke any day.
oldschool
PD he is so hot I had to delurk and say 1) I'm unbelievably happy they're recapping this show. And 2) I love love love PD. Whatever he did to become the smokin hot hunk he is I don't care ... I just say thank you!
simpatico

I never got the Matthew McConaughey is so hot thing. He's just so... meh.
God, me either. He's certainly pretty, but so are about 10 million other male models with no brains. I'm always attracted to the inside before the outside, and MMcC's insides aren't anything to write home about, as far as I can tell. Give me a Scrabble-loving Princeton grad who can rock the Blue Steel with zero irony any day.

I do get the PD love though. I don't think I've ever seen a guy age so well. He seriously went from kinda cute to sex on a stick.
Paradise
Thanks for the voting link! PD is second! I can't believe that Matthew Mconawho is 1st... blah. The man talked about how he pees in his truck while driving.... not sexy... in fact, gross. He's also a "toxic" bachelor. NOT SEXY IN MY BOOK.

So that list if the "sexiest" that Hollywood has to offer... not that great if you ask me. Kanye West??? ugh. Orlando Bloom??? are you kidding me?? No thanks, the only man who deserves to be on that list is PD.

PD was interviewed for the Sept issue of Elle magazine. In case you all missed it here is a link to the interview. He talks about his marriage to Rocky Parker who was 27 years older than him. Interesting stuff!

Hehehe .. You need to watch Lost.
I can't see his sexiness but Lost's fans are crazy about him.

That interview is terrific. He is hysterical. Great. Now I have to love him for more than his looks.
Andromeda
I wish people would just vote once, and abide by the results.
Then a win might actually mean something.

I realize these polls aren't to be taken seriously; but I sometimes think it would be nice to see who TRULY wins best actor, sexiest, etc.
Sars
Topic, please.
whatsup
PD is hot, but on the topic, I love McDreamy. I didn't like that he picked Addison, mostly because I really dislike her and it didn't seem like she ever really acted sorry for cheating on him, something about her just seems so fake to me. The issue I do have with McD though is that he acted like he was going to pick Meredith for a while, after she found out he was married and he explained everything that happened. Then all the sudden he picks Addison and the only explanation he offers is "she's my wife." I thought that was kind of obnoxious. I just hope he realizes soon that he made a mistake. In the meantime though, I still like him.

Oh yeah, the scene in the elevator with McD and Bailey was the best scene from Grey's Anatomy. Ever.

Yeah, exactly. He spends so long trying to make her talk to him, he tells Addison he's a open drain, he tells Meredith she saved him/she was a breath of fresh air and then..McSatan? I understand he needed his "moment of painful doubt" (I think those were his words)/hesitation before he signs away his 11 year family but..what happened to her being dead to him? Not impressed. But yummy, nonetheless.
charsrox13
I really think that some people need to cut McDreamy some slack. I've been on boards where there has been severe McDreamy bashing going on, but he's been through a lot. His wife cheated on him in Manhattan so he uprooted his whole life and moved to Seattle where he lives in a trailer. Albeit a really nice trailer a huge lot of land that he owns.

Then he meets Meredith. Has a one night stand with her, finds out he's working with her and pursues her. They finally settle into a stable relationship after a rocky start, and begin to talk about rules. Then his wife shows up.

His relationship with Meredith is ripped apart, he loses the post of interim chief to Burke and Addison won't give up.

Both women then confess to love him in one day, and he has to make a decision. He does seem to have feelings for both, but he seems to be the kinda guy who sticks by his vows and promises, he tries to fix things. So I think it's understandable why he picked Addison. From the last episode, it seems obvious that he does have feelings for Meredith, and the elevator scene showed that it is all definitely having an effect on him.

That said, I'm still waiting for the destruction of the Addison/Derek reunion because I'm Mer/Der all the way! Hopefully Meredith won't take him back to easily though, because as seen in the bike race episode, jealous!Derek is fun!
sarah1225
I agree with everything you say there charsrox13. My big issue is just that he wasn't open about being married in the first place. He could have saved alot of heartache all around. Either he and Meredith wouldn't have gotten involved in the first place, or he'd be sure that re-trying with McSatan is a good idea.
simpatico
Don't fault Derek for not telling Meredith he was married. He had to, for the sake of Good Television. :)

In my world they are real people, not characters. Either way, I'm feeling the McDreamy love.
flux
I'm sure PD wasn't happy when he found out Shona and the writers decided to give him a wife. I believe there was serious bashing on his character in real-life after the season finale. He said people were coming up and telling him off and how he was a jerk for not telling Meh about the wife. But what can the guy do, he didn't write it, he just act in it. Hopefully, the writers won't try another missing wife plot again. I'm all for McD if you ask me.
