This is a thread for the guest stars.

My personal favorites:

Viper, the bike race guy, who came in with spokes sticking out of his belly, The Psychic Guy, who helped Izzie figure out the missing ingredient for her cupcake recipe, and the Pregnant Non-Lesbians from the most recent episode "Into You Like A Train".
gl_shark
I liked Sugardaddy a.k.a Mr.Mackie the V.I.P. patient of Chief Webber. Viper's great too, I hope season 2 will have another ep with those bike racers guys [since there's a race every year]
rekkidbraka
MAN, I wish Viper would return as Meh's one night stand. Woo hoo HOO!
Gracelessly
I want Viper back too. Callum Blue is hot and sadly he's on crappy Related.
tvjunkie2008
I loved the girl who died from the last episode. She was amazing and I can definitely see her being nominated for an Emmy for that role.
WesternSkies
Viper was totally hot. I liked ESP guy, too. I actually liked the Orthodox Jewish girl, too -- she was a bitch to Alex and it made me giggle.

The Psychic Guy, who helped Izzie figure out the missing ingredient for her cupcake recipe
I forgot what the secret ingredient was--coconut extract?

I'm also still floored by polegirl from this past episode. She really does deserve an Emmy for making me cry like that.

Hmong girl was good, but I might just be saying that because she was cute. Jeremiah was really good at tugging on the heartstrings. You know, I think that this (calendar) season's guest stars are stronger than last season's, but maybe I just think that because they're fresher in my memory.

edit: Jeremiah, not Jeremy.
tvjunkie2008

I definitely agree with that. The ones from last season were amazing, but this season so far is phenomenal.

Yes. Personally, I add chili powder to my baked goods, but I can see that Izzie's mom knows what she's doing.

The baby who had Rasmussen's encephalitis was awfully cute. And it was fun to see George and McD turn all mushy around her.
joy1983

I loved the girl who died from the last episode. She was amazing and I can definitely see her being nominated for an Emmy for that role.
I love Monica Keena, the actress who played the girl, and was really happy to see her in the episode. I think she did a wonderful job. And I'm not biased at all, even though my favorite character on Dawson's Creek was Abby Morgan
tvjunkie2008
I love anyone that brings out MushyGeorge!

I did not even realize it was her until you said that. She's certainly improved since her DC days, not that she wasn't good there. She's just Emmyworthy now.
appletree

I'm also still floored by polegirl from this past episode. She really does deserve an Emmy for making me cry like that.
I never watched DC, so my love for her was from "Undeclared." (Off topic: why must Judd Apatow's shows be doomed to one season? Is quality anathema to network execs?)
Coma Girl
And who can forget BlushingGirl and Mr. Shakes-a-lot (Bruce Weitz) who told Meredith re: McD, "If you don't marry him, I will." Get in line, Shakey!
flux
I love the guy that Izzie was looking after. It's the party episode at Meh's house and Izzie was at the hospital asking if he has poo yet. I forgot his name.

ETA: Katie Brice: My head is full.
tvjunkie2008
I also like the psychic guy with the brain tumor. I love that actor, he played Kyle on Judging Amy, but I can't remember his name.
sixleaf
Does anyone know the name of the actor who played the patient of Bailey's that ran the marathons and went to the hospital without telling his parents and then died at the end?

Although I'm sure it's not the same--but he looks like someone I used to have a crush on in high school.
fonebone37

Thomas Ian Nicholas

He was most notably in the American Pie franchise.
sixleaf
Thanks. He looks different in those.
tvjunkie2008
I can't believe I'd forgotten him. I loved him!
youdidntseeme23
I agree with many people on this thread-Viper was my favorite. I personally hope he returns for the next Dead Baby Bike Race, and does the nasty with Mere. I friggen loved their thing that they had going. Good stuff.

Bonnie, I think her name is Monica Keena is amazing, but I also liked the Asian woman who was "missing one of her souls."

Katie Brice was good too, very "classic".
Beffers
I think it would rawk if some of the patients were recurring characters too, if we got too see how THEY and not just the docs handled their illnesses over the long haul..like Izzies psych guy, Viper ( obviously ) the brain tumour dude, and Katie "the bitch "Bryce. Wouldn't it be cool to watch Tom (from last week) dealing with the emotional trauma/guilt of being the one to live and not Bonnie ?
ChicagoCita

I love Monica Keena, the actress who played the girl, and was really happy to see her in the episode. I think she did a wonderful job.
Wow, the Pole Girl was Monica Keena? I've seen While You Were Sleeping a million times (shut up) -- she plays the younger sister -- and I so didn't recognize her. I thought the Burned Pregnant Non-Lesbian was Monica Keena, based on her looks in WYWS.

So, anyone know the name of the actress who played the BPNL?
flux

She was Mary? She looks so different, uh, yeah, I just realized that movie was made like 10 years ago. But WYWS is still good, even after a million viewings.
tvjunkie2008
I love WYWS, but I never would have recognized her as PoleGirl.

I know her best as the bitchy Abby from Dawson's Creek. She looks so different now.

Bumping this thread to give a holla! to Christina Ricci and Kyle Chandler. CR gave such a great performance, you could see her progressing through the stages of wigdom with each successive scene. I haven't seen her play such a delicate character.

KC - SO pretty. Gary Hobson stops a bomb! I think his style really jives with the show -- although his bomb squad character is supposed to be an outside to the quirky hijinks of Seattle Grace, his frantic "Stop talking!!" to Mere and Cristina brought, IMO, one of those splashes of silliness admist drama and chaos that GA is all about. Very glad that we'll be seeing KC next week as well -- will someone cast him in a show that sticks already?? I would like to look at him every week.

Guest star that I wasn't quite so enamored of: Screaming Wife. Just. Shut. It. Although it brought us the hot moment of Alex shouting in her face, she just bugged. And also when I first saw her I was like, "When did Wendy the Snapple Lady start acting?"
tribema
Christina Ricci indeed did a great job, I hope she gets an Emmy nod or something for her performance.

I didn't see the promo for next week, is she still around for the next ep?

She was on Judging Amy. I miss that show. So it was nice to see her again. But she did drive me nuts. I wanted someone to stick her with something to put her out for a few days!
almostlunchtime
I was hoping someone would resurrect this thread, thank you! I agree that CR did an excellent job as Hannah. The girl's got such enormous eyes and they spoke very clearly. Funny thing, too, is that I never really cared for Ms. Ricci as a person outside of her roles. I think she did an interview in Jane -- does anyone remember that? She said something to the effect of dropping her keys in the toilet and not knowing what to do. She ran off her thought process which included waking her boyfriend, blah blah blah. I know she was younger but she came off as kind of lame.

Answering the question of future GA appearances, according the IMDB, she's only in one episode.
kitty32
Does anyone know who Grace's friends were in the previous episode? One was Timmy's mother on "Lassie" and I think they were all old sitcom moms, but I'm not positive who they were -- they just all looked really familiar.

Found this on the episode thread: June Lockhart and Betty Garrett from 1950s musicals (Take Me Out to the Ballgame, On the Town and My Sister Eileen) and "Laverne and Shirley."[I]
Swipsey32
How many eps is Kyle Chandler signed up for ?
Rugby Sarah
about the messenger bike racer: I watched this episode about a week and a half ago, right after I found out I'd be attending a bike race...which is this coming saturday.

(I hope it doesn't result in as many injuries as that Dead Baby race!)
nerdyduck
I think the two-parter Superbowl episodes are the only ones KC is in.
Nachel08
What about Christina Ricci is she sticking around for any more epps? Also she was so great last week this is the best acting I personally have ever seen her do, but maybe tha's cause I watched the last cpuple of seasons of Allye McBeal.
Klawzie
Yeah - no joke they're the only ones he's in. Ouch.

Hannah/George? Interesting.

(And hopefully completely on topic: those were the best guest-stars I've ever noticed on GA. I had high hopes for KC's character breaking up that bedamned love triangle between the Drs McDreamy and Mere.)
flux
Bomb squad guy was all over Meh, literally. Living up to the pink mist reputation. RIP!

I really like Hannah, I hope you cames back for more. George and her were cute together.
HotButteredRum

They really, really were. It's a pity that seeing as CR is this big Holywood star, and way too big to do TV long term, she won't be anything more than guest star, so her and George are dead in the water, long term. It's a shame. How cool was it that George was so sweet to Hannah, even though she is the person that put the woman he in wuv with, in mortal danger ?

Mad props to Dr Burke too, for praising Hannah, the way he did. I am not crazy about Dr Burke. He is a tad too cold and judgemental for me to warm to him in any real way, but occasionally he really impresses me and tonight, when he signaled out one of the "little" people for praise, I really, really warmed to him.

ARGH just once I was actually ROOTING for a hot guest star to hook up with Mere, and they go ahead and BLOW HIM UP. Kyle Chandler's character dying really hit me hard. I thought his last scene in the OR was excellent and I was extremely irritated when Mere superimposed McD in his place.

I really thought there was some interesting symbolism going with the Shepherd/Kyle Chandler stand-in. KC's casting couldn't have been mere happy coincidence -- physically, he has the same coloring and pretty, pretty eyes as PD. The only difference is that if I was scared I was going to die I would much rather look at KC's gentle coaxing expression than McD's smirk. AND KC plays the quirky humor so well -- he would have been SUCH A GOOD FIT on this show!! Argh.

Oh, and I didn't expect Ricci to be back for the second hour. Glad Hannah was comforted by George, Burke and Co. She was phenomenal. Emmy nom for sure.
Nachel08
Just want to get on the aww shucks train in the whole Kyle Chandlers characters literal blowing up thing. I too really enjoyed him and was really rooting for him and Mer becoming some sort of a couple. Too bad. But there still may be a very slim chance for George and Hannah if CHristina Ricci doesn't ahve any gigs lined up for a while. Anyone know if she's in any more eps this season?
CloudyGumdrops
I hope Christian Ricci is in more epps. George was so sweet with Hannah and I think they'd be a cute couple. George deserves someone.

As for KC, I'm actually glad that Dylan wasn't meant to be a recurring character. You just know he'd fall for Meh (just like every other man on earth apparently *insert eye rolling icon*.). I just couldn't watch KC have to play that. I lurves him too much to endure the horror of it. With Addi though, sure. :)
cordygirl
I guess it is here that I need to Profess My Love for Kyle Chandler... I've loved him since Homefront. And although he won't be coming back to GA (mark me down for the "wanted him to get together with Meredith" list, poo) I'm very glad for this high profile-yet-short stint, because everytime I told people he is on my "Freebie List of 5" (ala FRIENDS), everyone would reply "who"? I used to say, "Remember that crappy show Early Edition?" Now I can say "The hottie Bomb Squad guy who blew up on Grey's Anatomy!" Unfortunately, as soon as they showed him walking (in slow mo) outside the OR, I knew he was done. So sad. Love. Him. My husband just kept saying "Why did they have to blow up the bomb guy?" (he was sad, it was cute). I will watch anything KC is in, no matter how shitty, so I was thrilled to she him do such a fantastic job on one of my favorite shows! And whoever said someone give him a good series already, so we can see his cute face every week? Amen.
snowfall
CR is a big Hollywood star? Really? Not being mean here but I haven't seen her in anything before Grey's Anatomy in quite a long time. I think the movie That Darn Cat, or whatever it was called, is the most recent thing I know she was in.

ETA wait, wait, I think I'm wrong. Wasn't she was on Joey last season?
tindy

She's been acting since she was very very young. She was in The Addams Family as the daughter, she was in Casper (the movie version), Now & Then, and a bunch of smaller independent films.

OMG, how much can I endorse this. He's my favorite actor. Ever. And I've been dying a slow death waiting to see him in a movie or tv show these last couple years. I finally watched this show tonight, crying of course, and told my husband I'd have to watch the stupid Friday Night Lights just to be able to see a few minutes a week of him. GA really screwed up giving him a 2-week stint. I'll stick around for George, of course, but it'll never be the same.
auntiemame
You know what would be awesome? If Kyle Chandler won an Emmy for this role. They give out Emmys to guest stars, right? He totally deserves it.
cordygirl

Ooooh, yes! Can we start a campaign for this somewhere?!

I will also be watching Friday Night Lights next fall, just for KC. Just like I sat through the crappy show Clubhouse for Dean Cain. Oh! Think we could get Dean Cain on GA? I would be soooo happy... No, no. That would be far too much hotness, with Patrick Dempsey and Dean Cain. Not that KC didn't come close to overloading the hot and talented quotient.

I think CR has been doing a lot of independent films, but she's also been in some other mainstream (crappy) stuff the last couple years, because I know I've seen her around... I just can't remember exactly what.
ZombieHousewife
Oh my god, I need help. Who were the actors who played the gay dads in last night's episode? I know I've seen both of them in other roles; I can see them in scenes, but I have no idea where. Stupid IMDB is no help and I don't think either of them have been in enough stuff to qualify as H!ITGs. If anyone knows, please step up and say so. It's driving me crazy. Thanks.

Aha! Fisher from Roseanne, and spazzy guy on Andy Richter Controls the Universe, in case anyone else was wondering. Phew. I can sleep again.

So somewhere between Neptune and Mexico, Duncan managed to travel to Seattle to impersonate a hockey player who places too much faith in the Internet. Ah Teddy Dunn. Veronica Mars fans don't miss you, but I kind of did. A couple people in the ep thread mentioned that Dunn's acting was actually good on GA. I couldn't tell. I was too distracted with the possibilities of snark Logan or Veronica from VM would bring if Duncan ever cut off his own finger.

Viper, the bike race guy, who came in with spokes sticking out of his belly

Okay, I'm late to the party but I just watched all of season 1 again. I can't stop watching the Viper scene. Holy hell that man is sexy. WOW
dactylo
I definitely agree with the Viper love. I will forever know him as Mason from Dead Like Me, the coolest drugged up reaper ever. Callum Blue deserves so much more than Related.

I didn't see any improvement in Teddy Dunn's acting, but I liked his Donut-like trust in the interweb.
