From le WB.com:
Lana (Kristin Kreuk) decides to enroll at Metropolis University at the last minute and is forced to join a sorority to find housing at such a late date. However, her new sorority sisters offer her more than a place to crash after they turn her into a vampire and instruct her to kill Clark (Tom Welling). Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) applies for an internship at the Daily Planet, but the newspaper's formidable editor (guest star Carrie Fisher) may be more then she can handle.
Michael Rosenbaum, Erica Durance, John Glover, Annette O'Toole and John Schneider also guest star. Steven S. DeKnight wrote the episode directed by Jeannot Szwarc.
Also? Lesbians. I guarantee Howard Stern will be talking about it tomorrow.

AAARGH! The stupid is overpowering! This episode feels like Paul Verhoeven crapping in my brain!
Seriously, this ep reached Trolls 2 levels of stupid. They might as well change Smallville's name to Nilbog.
Even Chloe grated because of the incredibly poor storytelling and writing. The only remotely redeeming qualities were Lex and Spikiac.
...okay, Lana falling down and breaking her neck was pretty sweet. But even that can't redeem this terrible episode.
I'd write even more about this, but I have to go lie down. I'm suffering eyeliner poisoning from just watching Lana.
Or it might just be the concussion from being hit by more anvils than a Warner Brothers cartoon.

Very good episode. Seemed a bit rushed for the Halloween theme but good nonetheless.
One thing though. It seemed JM was going just a bit overboard with his accent when he was playing pool talking to Lex.
"Slaying Buffy the Vampire"? Awesome.

Definitely better than I thought it would be. It seems like the writers took TWoP's snark and put it into Lana's lines when she was a vampire.
All the Buffy references were great. James Marsters spearing a Luthercorp security guard? Priceless.

What is it with this show and giant needles to the heart?
Draclana was disturbing on so many levels.
And yay! for continuity, workers were fixing Lex's window that Lana broke earlier on.
My love for Chloe grows. I loved the ending and her narrating throughout.

So, I guess Lana's lucky that the family of the girl she killed decided not to press charges, or that nobody at all seemed to care that she died.
Also, not only is it not libel if it's true, it's also not libel if it's spoken aloud. Professor Spike should look over a dictionary some time. Also, he needs to decide what he's teaching.

Chloe: Damn you TPTB, that this episode was not just Chloe-centric-ish but also was all about her voice over meant I couldn't completely hate it and I was really expecting to hate this one. She was just so happy and perky and optimistic, she should have had more such episodes. And they have X-Files wording. And she's a BtVS fan so that's always a plus. That being said, I'm tired of people forgetting Chloe put Lionel in prison, Kahn should have mentioned that. And from that little bit of Bittleman, I want more. A lot more. "You better get over here..."*woosh*- Chlark is awesome. And give her credit, the costume wasn't just hot but it was practical as well. I'm glad that Kahn talked about how they couldn't print the vampire story but it was all researched and everything.
Clark: Wow, their relationship is so great when Lana and Clark are both ogling others. During the Clana biting scene, was anyone else thinking about how tepid it really was? Imagine if it was Chloe or Alicia in the Lana role. Clark being bitten made sense (kind of, I'm not sure the rules)when he was near Kryptonite but it should have healed when he was away from it. Was that Kryptonite in the syringe?
Vampires and The Like: Regarding the hottub scene, ladies, now you know why guys say no teeth. I was disappointed we saw no Rush Week stuff, who wouldn't want to see Lana with shaving cream and a sheep? But seriously, we should have learned why of all the stupid girls to choose, they chose Lana. She seemed about as enthusiastic being chosen as when buying bread.
"We're tri-sighs; the hottest vampires ever." I've seen porn with better acting and dialogue. Or the same. I get confused. Though sunlight only a minor inconveneince to them and crosses don't do anything but they can morph. What exactly is their deal? Oh and invulnerability and immortality are two different things.
Flex: HoWhoopee!!! "Why would a man of your stature be so concerned with the comings and goings of a freshman farm boy." I wonder what Lex's research on Fine said. "That professor came from black oil emerging from your space ship." "Damn, if only we had something on him."And though the deaath scene was a rip from T2, that was still pretty cool. At least Project 1138 wasn't entirely Lex's fault since it was before he even came to Smallville. Unfortunately, Lex is still super in love with Lana, he wasn't even going to help Chloe was he?!
Lana: How many people is this bitch going to kill? Buffy wasn't even a genuine vampire, she was a person with a disease that could be cured. See, we told you Lana was narcissitic; she eyejaculates from own visage. And Action!Lana in Lex's mansion was really silly, I'm sorry to say.
Unfortunately, the ending was just about as quick as "And the kids were rescued by, let's say, Moe."

I always love halloween episodes in general, but a lot of times they can be too camp. This was great. They tied it in well with the meteor freak stuff. Also, there was sappho action. Not a Gay look of the episode to be found with clark and lex except for the very end when it came close to a Starsky and Hutch moment. I have to give this episode an A. It popped and reminded me of season 2 and 3.

That episode was a lot better than the previews made it out to be. They didn't take it to seriously, and that's a good thing.
It was great to see Carrie Fisher.
I find it hard to believe that Lana had great grades. She never went to school, and when she did she never went to class. She just mooned after Jason, walked around school to remind people she was the most beautiful girl, or got kidnapped.
James Marsters rocks on this show. He owns his scenes. I've got to give props to the writing, they're doing a good job writing the character.
Great Clark Chloe interaction. I was cracking up at Clark superspeeding to Met U. Clark's concern was good, Welling and Marsters did a good job in the hospital scene.

Triple shot of skank, party of one. How original to start off with a pizza delivery guy. I mean, gosh, that’s never been done before, has it?
Lana Lang, least scary vampire EVER.
Did anyone else expect Professor Fine, after the pool game with Lex, to call out “Ownage”?
Buffy Saunders tossing Lana down the stairs – currently on loop on my TV
Clark, “I hate costumes.” Carlos? Bwah!!! What a surprise – he likes the cape but not the mask. Meta much DeKnight?
“For those of you just tuning in….this episode blows chunks. Try Lost this week instead.”
Lex cares nothing about Chloe but is instantly alarmed when Lana is affected by Contrivance Rabies? DeKnight, quit with the Lexana already – you’re no good at it and it makes everyone sick. To round off the complete the horror, Lana is once again rooming with Chloe…because that worked out SO well last time. And now she’s also at the Daily Planet? These writers are playing with my canon loving heart, the evil bastards.
Vampire meteor bats? Whose ass did this storyline emerge from? I….just….there really are no words. If not for the excellent Chloe scenes and some of James Marsters’ excellent moments as Prof Fine, this episode would have been pure crap.

Man, Lana was hilarious in this one. Watching her try to pull off sexy AND menacing all at once was comedy gold.

All the "Buffy" anvils aside, I really liked this episode. Clark in a Zorro costume was hilarious to me for some reason.
I liked that Chloe was the narrator of the story this week. Gave the episode a very cool feeling to it.
KAAAAHN! She was cool. The Chloe/Kahn plot was nicely delivered, and the last scene was very nice.
JM rocks the socks, as per usual. Although I don't appreciate any reminders of "Gone", what with the extreme suckage of that T-1000 ripoff and the allusion in this episode.
Very fine episode. A-.

I'm visiting friends at home for a vacation and I still make time to watch Smallville and post about it before going out at night. My priorities are awesome.
Quick thoughts... It was in some ways far better and far worse than I'd imagined. The sheer goofiness of it was almost unwatchable at times. Yet overall it did some very good things for the show's dynamic plot and character wise.
I was a little annoyed with the Buffy references at first (IMO for an inferior show to reference a superior show is just verboten) but then I saw DeKnight wrote the ep, and I guess he's allowed (once it became clear they were going for broke I even enjoyed them).
The big good that makes me walk away happy from the show is seeing how its not so much going to be Braniac falling into the old LL role as it is turning Clex into the far more complicated and interesting SpiClex. I look forward to seeing where they go with that.
The anvils were plentiful (two about the costume alone), but pretty well done.
Anyone else think it comes off a little fake having Chloe squee about being at the DP in the basement when (albeit under dubious circumstances) she had her own column there three years ago? Glad they at least remembered that happening. (and Princess Leia was quite good. hope to see more).
KK didn't really do it for me. It just got so goofy I had to turn away at times. Not really her fault, I don't think.
Overall, fair-to-middlin, but props for keeping plot arcs relevant even in the silly episodes.
ETA: Lex finally got some security!! (albeit shortlived, hence Clarks walking right in at the end...)

Only saving grace for this episode were the scenes of Prof. SoFine, Lex, and Chloe. God, trying to erase what I have in my mind with the crazy girls. Working at TDP is her dream and she lost the column under very bad circumstances and odds were very likely that she would never work there again. The fact that she did get a second chance, any sort of chance, to redeem herself would be enough to make me squee.

Logically speaking: Why on earth would Fine tell Clark about project 1138 if he was trying to get Clark to hate Lex? Project 1138 was a GOOD thing, to borrow a phrase from Martha Stewart. I realize that the writers needed a way for Clark to find the cure (as well as have Marsters say there's no such thing as vampires) but there should have been some other way to do it that doesn't undermine the Fine vs. Lex.
But kudos to the writers for finally making me hate Lex. First I loved him. Then in season 4 I was bored by him. But now? Hate.
Clark: Chloe's been infected by vampire rabies!
Lex: *blank look*
Clark: And I think Lana has, too.

And then in the end? It's Clark of all people who has to remind him that Chloe was sick, too, because Lex only asked about the Princess. GAH! Go shove a rabid bat where the sun don't shine, Luthor!

First I have to say that this episode was pretty good. I'm still shocked that I like it so much. I loved how at least for the first 30 minutes the vampire storyline was basically the B story. Also I could be wrong, but was CHloe writing the Chloe Chronicles during this episode. Loved Princess Lips Organa Solo. Also like how they explained the girl being named Buffy. Chloe changing the names to protect the innocent kept it from being cheesy.
Alot of people are going to have bad things to say about the actual Soriority girls, but I took it as this was Chloe's version of events. So the way they acted, was the way she views soriority girls. God help me it was a really fun episode. It wasn't meant to be anything more than that, and that's why I liked it so much.
Flex was great. I didn't watch the scene on AOL before the episode so I was unspoiled. I loved when Fine was looking at the ship, and the way he dispatched Lex's security guard. Loved Lana's fall down the stairs. It was pretty cool, what with the sound effects of bones breaking.
Yeah unfortunately they kept in the heat vision dispatching of the vampire, but I'll let that slide because it kinda fit in with the storyline. Lana actually was rather entertaining in this episode. Also do I sense a bit of the Clex coming back from the Dark side(yes I had to make that Star Wars reference).
Best scene in the whole episode(that didn't include Fine or Lex) was when Chloe was on the phone with Clark, and he superziped to her room and scared the hell out of her. That was just priceless. All in all I can't believe how much I liked this episode. It was so much better than last weeks. That's not saying much, but who would of thought that the Lesbian Vampire episode would be better than the Aquaman eppy. I'm going to give this an A-. Much better than anticipated.
Little Trivia Nerd Thing: Lex Project 1138. THX-1138: the George Lucas movie. And this was the episode with Carrie Fisher.
It was also the cell block number of the Death Star that she was kept in from the original Star Wars. Star Wars geeks unite!!!

Ok, let me get this straight; The Editor-in-Chief of a major newspaper is going to take
time out of her busy schedule just to call in a college freshman to tell her to get out?
“Yeah Chloe, come in sit down. You suck. Go home.”
“Buffy Sanders”!!?? Please. As if having professor “Spike” have the word vampire escape from his lips isn’t reference enough.
I guess pool-playing is also one of Braniac’s superpowers.
Aside: (And maybe kinda inappropriate) Are Clark and Lana still having sex? If so wouldn’t that kill Lana?
I like vampire Lana better than normal Lana. Too bad they have to change her back.
(Well, they don’t have to change her back but, <sigh>, you just know they will.)
So they all have krypto-rabies?
Wouldn’t Lana have noticed that Clark had a green glowing hypodermic needle in his hand?
It’s the commercial break, but I’m just guessing that one of the side-effects of the cure is amnesia.
BINGO!!
I’m sorry but they’ve used the convenient forgetfulness too many times.
“…I felt what was inside of your heart.” It’s called blood Lana.
“…slaying Buffy the Vampire” We get it; you’ve watched “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”.
Of course it would be better if you watched the early seasons and not the last two.

The best part of the episode was the ending. I don't mean that in some sardonic way, either. "Up, up, and away," was anvilicious but I ate it up with a spoon.
Oh, but the episode was bogged down by all the bad horror B movie bullshit. The Death Becomes Her stair shove was awful. Actually, *everything* about the a-plot was awful, including Chloe's narration. Perhaps in another setting, I would have like it, but it just didn't work. The dialogue they sattled her with was so clunky. Not to mention, there were some genuinely repuslive (as in heave-inducing) scenes contained within the episode. Lana snapping her joints back into place, being one, and the teaser with all the blood splattering (and the blood red jacuzzi as overkill) being another.
Lana's monologue before attempting to turn Clark was THE worst. I've seen it done a thousand times and I honestly couldn't tell you where because movies containing such contrived, trite, nonsense, I commonly erase from memory.
The only other notable scenes came between Fine and Lex. Still, those gems were few and far between. I detested the lot of this.

Well slap my ass and call me betty ~ I didn't hate it! I actually only saw the last half so I probably missed the really good Fine/Lex stuff too.
But one thing that popped into my head - how many times has Lana, in some shape or form, tried to kill Clark? I think I count three but I can't remember if she actually pulled the trigger during Magnetic or the other guy. (The other times are as Isobel and tonight.)

More like Zorro the Ambiguous Blade, but I wasn't fooled. His hoyay still shined through the sorority leers.
I loved this episode! This totally makes up for the black hole of suck that was Aquabro. I'll admit that there were some eyerolling moments, but they were counterbalanced by moments of outright hilarity. Plus Lex was somewhat of his old self in this.
Strangely enough, Peepula was rockin me something fierce here (at least until she was mindwhammied back to forgetful girl). Her voice lowered a couple of register and it was rather hot.

Oh wow. This episode was pretty good. Chloe narrated most of it, it was basically her article in the making. I think Chloisers will Squee themselves silly, anvils galore. Especially the anvils at the end "I have no where to go but up, up, up and awaaay!"
Wow..is it just me or do Clex seem more emotionally invested in each other after their break up than all of last year in its entirety. So this is a "rift"? They can come back from anything can't they? It can't get any worse than deadly hostage set-up and a beatdown in one's own home...but they're still talking and caring and talking. It's almost like early S3. Melikes this brand of Clex. Mmm.
Random thoughts...
“Especially Astronomy.” Lana wants an astronomy class? Did I hear that right? Since when is Lana into astronomy? That’s Clark’s thing.
Fine needs to shut up with the "Evil" talk, he’s starting to sound like dubya. Geez. His affinity for empty absolutes as aside, I love him. I think I'm going to tally how many times he uses the word "Brain."
Flex….OMG so HOT. I couldn't get into Jex because Ackles' acting doesn't do anything for me but this is smoldering.
Lex you’re an idiot. Openly threatening especially during this time of controversial witchhunting. Gah
Yay a return of contemplative!Lex! Thank goodness he is back to his calculating, sober self. I just can't get into unhinged!bitter!Lex...Fine presented a challenge and he seems to be back to form because of it. Love the Flex.
Carrrrlos. Heheh. How cute. This is reminding me of a L&C scene.

Lana's entire 'I'm going to Met U...need a place to stay...pledge a sorority...win the only spot....become a vamp....eyejaculate after sucking Clark's blood', to me, was as bad as the awful contrivance of that episode. DeKnight can really bring on the suck - pun fully intended.

I thought it was pretty good. Entertaining at least; me and my friend laughed most of the way through it. Lex's face and exclamation of "Lana!" When she burst through the glass was priceless.
Speaking of Lex, he is just all over the place, isn't he? He's awesome in the scenes with SoFine, and then he's an ass when it comes to Chloe. How am I supposed to know whether to love or hate him? Way more than the stupid sorority girls and Lana being a flying squirrel, that scene with Clark was the most annoying scene.
Clark: Chloe is dying of a horrible disease and she may only have a few minutes to live and you are the only one with the cure!
Lex: Um, I'm sort of busy drinking here.
Clark: Oh, and Lana has a little scrap.
Lex: Oh no! I must go save her!
The end made me smile though. Best ending in a long time. I was able to buy that the rabies virus caused them to grow fangs and hate sunlight, but that Lana could snap her neck and be alright?! What kind of crazy strain of rabies is that? That seemed too nuts to me. Also I would like to add that as far as I know, there aren't any vampire bats in Kansas. They must live in that Bizarro World Kansas along with the mountains and fjords.

Hmmmm. The episode was definitely not as bad as it could have been.
Some points?
- The Chloe-writing-her-article structure was rather painful. The voiceovers were just bad. Must admit I got a bit of a thrill out of Kahn tearing her to bits at the beginning. But Chloe just garnered a few more points against her. She said she just wanted the "same chance" that Kahn had. But that's not what she meant. What she was asking for was special treatment. Because the same chance that Kahn had was *exactly* what Chloe had. She applied for the internship and was found wanting. That's all the chance that anyone has. Chloe was asking for Kahn to *disregard* Chloe's lack of qualification and just take a chance on her because...why? Why did this woman owe Chloe *anything*? And then even though Kahn gave her *another chance*, Chloe had the audacity to get all pissy about Kahn's "hmm"ing while reading her article? What the hell? The woman was already giving Chloe a huge favor. So yeah, that ending left a very bad taste in my mouth.
- The tri psi girls were *too* over the top. A little over the top would have been fine, but they were straying into bad soft porn acting.
- Clark as Zorro was kind of adorable.
- I liked that they had Clark speed to Metropolis while on the phone. They need to do that sort of thing more often and acknowledge the weirdness and humor in his powers, and how weird it would be to knowingly interact with someone who has those abilities.
- CHLOE'S ROOMMATE! I could not love that girl more. Is that Smallville's first Latina? Go homegirl! I think she called Lana a sick cat, hee. And have to love anyone that gets all in Chloe's face. Too bad that was the first and last time that we'll see her.

There's no way Chloe isn't the real Lois.
NO way.

Also I would like to add that as far as I know, there aren't any vampire bats in Kansas. They must live in that Bizarro World Kansas along with the mountains and fjords.
Well they won't be able to get Bruce Wayne on the show, so a cave full of bats is the closest they can come.
I took it as a shout out to Batman. So I won't complain about vampire bats being in my state.

Well, this
is the WB.
I didn't notice Lex's sudden interest in the vampire situation because of Lana until I read it here. Then I went back and watched it, and lo and behold, there it is. Grrr. Argh.
QUIT MARGINALIZING CHLOE, DOMOS!!!

I guess pool-playing is also one of Braniac’s superpowers.
Being a machine, he could probably do the complex geometry analysis to kick ass at pool.
Wouldn't physics be more appropriate for playing pool?
I haven't seen the ep yet, but nothing can be worst than Spell.
I'm kind of glad now that I've never seen that episode.

Plus, Chloe's last voice-over seemed to be coming from several years in the future, or did I only hear what I wanted to hear? That means that Chloe will be around for a long time, right? Right?????
