Could someone give a mini-recap of what happened with the guy in the basement storyline? I missed up until the last few minutes of the show, and don't want to wait until morning. Yes, I am always this impatient.
It has something to do with this guy Sloth, who was abandoned by his buddy, Chunk, when he found out that The Goonies was twenty years ago and his career never really went anywhere. Or something like that.

WOW, the Applwhite kid has an awesome body! And Bree's rant at the burial was spectacular! Felicity looked good, but the storyline that got her there was too stupid to make it enjoyable. And nice to see the return at the end!

So it wasn't until tonight's episode that I found out that Susan actually has a job. I was always wondering how she could afford her place if she stayed at home all day.
And finally some plot development with the Applewhite's. So her mentally challenged son committed a murder and now she's trying to protect him. Now that makes sense.

So it looks the basement guy is a Mice and Men character, who killed b/c he did not understand?? Lame
Ha! But her hair was so soft...he just wanted to pet her.
All I have to say about tonight is that, for me, Marcia Cross really brought it all together in the end when she finally let her emotions show.

Sweet dancing Moses! That was rather twisted. I feel the need to give giant chops to Marcia Cross from playing "calm collected Bree" in the first detective scene to "BatShi'a'a Crazy" in the last scene.
Gabbi's lines rocked, as did her facial expression after the "Do you like to Ski?" Speach. That lawyer dude the second most despicable character on the show, right after the Evil Pharmacist.
Oh, and CreePaul is back? Color me shocked.

While I love Lynette at the bar. I hated the whole story line. Really I know she wants this job and needs the money but she really should of said: "I know you are my boss and everything but you are not a mother so you don't understand. So get yourself your own piece of ass." Bree's melt down was great but the police detective pissed me off when he said his wife cheated on him too so he understands. So did you kill her or not then? Huh? Other wise, act like a cop and look past the wife. Really Susan, get a life and Mike you are such an hypercrit so shut up. Would Gaby please start showing. I've seen super thin woman who are 20 years old and 6'1 showing after only three months and then grow another size in a week.

THAT WAS GREAT!!! Best episode of this season by far and better than some episodes last season.
The Applewhite mystery and the Paul thing was enough for me(he's back).
I didn't really like the Bree fit, but Marcia Cross was amazing.
Lynette, ROFL! She's so smart.
That lawyer... WOW. This obviously isn't the first time he's manipulated a married man. LOL

Glad to see that my faith in M. Cherry and Co. was not unfounded!
Bree?!? The hair coming undone?!? The losing it?!? The Monologue?!? (Emmy tape for Miss Marcia Much?!?) It's just so sad that her emotional outbreak/first sign of human emotion was her anger at being betrayed by Rex and there's really no way of fixing the situation, it's really tragic (Now, M. Cherry and Co. run with it! : ) ... I'm surprised MAVO's end monologue didn't with a comment on how there are situations you can fix and situations you can't...
(Sidebar - Bree's ring, if it were real - would've been at least $20, 000 ... come on now, wouldn't that be enough to keep you from chucking it into the grave?!? Really? All those Williams-Sonoma-esque kitchen toys aren't going to pay for themselves anymore!)
As for the Applewhites - FINALLY we have some screentime...but more puzzle pieces...at least they're back in the scene...
LOVED Lynette - and the Sports Night shout-out, shameless plug of DH Soundtrack with lackluster cover of 'Band of Gold', however? NotSoMuch!
And I hate to admit it - but Gabby's starting to grow so on me!!!
Can't wait for the next few episodes...but a quick Q - is next week reruns until Sweeps?

I liked how when Betty was at Edie's she saw the news playing footage of the arrest, and the tv was muted and she had to go turn up the volume. It was a nice change from tv shows that have the volume magically crank when there's something vital to the plot.

I didn't believe the detective when he said that his wife cheated on him. I think he's playing Good Cop/Bad Cop by himself; he's trying to get Bree to think he's sympathetic to her cause.

I still think Rex knew it was George who was poisoning him and not Bre, and I am just trying to figure out how this will all be resolved without Rex coming back from the dead!
Wow, it was incredible watching Marcia Cross's neck muscles bulging out while her forehead remained so smooth . . .
Favorite line of the night: "Honey, you beat your wife. I don't think it's your place to be gasping about anything"

I liked this episode. The girls at their poker game; Lynette plotting a sort of revenge; Susan being a complete ditz; Edie bringing the snark and even Gabrielle getting out-foxed by the lawyer-hottie, but I still want to know where is Gabrielle's baby? She's still wearing her size 2s, yet she has an unltasound picture that looks like a four-month fetus. Not even a little bump in her perfect figure.

I loved this episode. The Gabby/Carlos plot is actually moving, and I think the writers just turn it on during their scenes. The prison therapy was hilarious, especially with the prisoner saying of the lawyer, "He sounds hot", and the wife replying, "Do we need to say what our problem is or can you all figure it out?"
Overall strong episode with some *GASP* plot advancement. Still, what a stupid stupid subplot that Lonnie thing was. Why do the writers feel the need to add all these extraneous characters for a few episodes instead of developing the expansive cast they already have.
I got the feeling that Lonnie was a one-episode deal that was supposed to mirror Susan's situation regarding screw-ups and second chances.
I absolutely loved Bree's meltdown at the funeral. I hate to sound like a therapist, but I thought it was such a breakthrough for her. Her whole character is about hiding things and not letting those closest to her know about her inner turmoil (see last season when she told Gabby something on the lines of "Real friends act like something's wrong" and the scene ended with Gabby saying, "Give Rex my hello"). I think this was the first time that she completely shared with her friends that she WASN'T fine, dammit, and that she was very upset. That scene was perfect, from Gabby's reaction to the acne statement to Susan's "We're just going to a funeral, thanks" to Edie following behind on crutches.

Finally! A Lynnette storyline that didn't suck (or revolve around the children). More work hijinks, please.
Poor Bree. I felt bad for her.
Get Carlos out of jail already.
Get Susan off my tv.
Part one of the Applewhite mystery solved! What's next?
Continuity blip: Now Edie has a longer cast and no foot brace. Does TPTB think we wouldn't notice? Jeez.

Contiunity blip is waived because Edie on crutches following a raving Bree is frickin hilarious.
And no, Druish Princess I don't believe the newscast mentioned the axe, which is why Young Attractive Female Detective was all "ZOMG!"

Best episode of the season for sure.
I still think someone should shoot Susan even though she FINALLY had a story that did not revolve around her pathetic love life.
I have a feeling there is some symbolism to Bree's hair. Someone mentioned that part of it was falling out. I think that as she expresses herself she is literally "letting her hair down." bit by bit. That was some amazing acting by her tonight!
I liked Lynette that was cute. And it did not revolve around her kids for once!
I also liked how they did the TV's and Betty tonight. They just really need to bring the other wives into the mystery somehow. It seems completly unconnected to everything else and annoys me

Actually the fact that Susan is a successful children's book author was mentioned once in the pilot (in a Mary Alice voice over, IIRC) and then never referred to again. I'm glad it came up tonight; I was beginning to think I'd imagined it.

Now that's the DH I grew to love last season. For the first time this season Susan didn't annoy me. Lynette is a lot better when she isn't shackled to her kids. Plus she was pretty hot in that bar. The Applewhite's storyline is finally beginning to make sense, it might actually turn out to be good. I like Carlos and Gabby's attorney, he's a rat but he should keep things interesting between the two. It'll be fun seeing Gabby have to deal with a real man this time. Bree was exceptional this exercise. Marcia Cross really hit it out of the park. The writer of this episode must have watched last season and realized these woman are actually friends. Best episode of the season, I hope this is the beginning of the show getting back on track.

Just wanted to add that I nearly peed seeing Edie hobble as fast as she could at the cemetary, trying to keep up with the other girls. Hilarious.

See, I kinda hope he does come back from the dead... although I'm not sure just how that could be done. Still hasn't aired here yet, but does Bree toss her ring into the grave because of Rex's cheating or because he thought she poisoned him, or both? Reason I'm asking, I thought she had forgiven him for cheating.

for believing that she poisoned him. The detective did say "well maybe it was for his sex stuff" but she didn't buy it.

She was angry at the fact that Rex would believe that she poisoned him after all she had done for him in those 18 years. Can't say that I blame her.
I'm not going to mention Gabby and the supposed baby. Can she at least look pregnant? Is that too much to ask?

Now all the spoilers about Betty's son having a secret make sense. I was worried that something would turn out to be "off" with Matthew, but now I can watch him in a wife beater with a new sense of calm.
Well Matthew in the wife beater brought a new level of viewing for me, but "calm" is nowhere near the word I would use. If the shirt won't come off, the wife beater will do...for now (i.e. take the damn shirt OFF already!)
As for Adrian Pasdar, love and being slimey? No other way I prefer the fine Mr. Pasdar. He makes slimey sexy. His character is wasted on Gabrielle. But at least he isn't susan's new agent. Maybe just when Gabrielle looks to succumb, Bree finds she needs a lawyer and Bree can take that furnace we all know is under that glacier of repression and wrap it around something worth while instead of the unbelievable romance they have her in now.
Lynette's storyline turned out to be amusing. Susan's did not. And could the wardrobe people please stop listening to Terry Hatcher and dress her in something that doesn't look like it came from Lindsey Lohan's closet? When the five women are standing at the cemetary and two of them are Edie and Gabrielle and Susan still looks the least appropriately dressed, something is seriously wrong.
How many days did it take Paul to get back from the desert? A month?
