However, I could see the painting happening like this: PM is walking around, pointing out all the things that need to be painted, and which color goes on what, and all the guys just grab painting tools and start pitching in. Markus, because he wasn't given an engraved invitation, wanders aimlessly while contemplating his navel.
And, well, frankly, his team wouldn't have been micro-managing him in the first place if he wasn't such a disaster when he

A dual-firing would have been good, but I'm OK with Jen getting another chance.
One thing I did like about Jen is that she confronted Kristi directly, instead of just complaining about her.
Jen and James? I hope not, since I think he is married. He is a total hottie though, and is now my new TV-boyfriend.
I am sort of surprised that we aren't seeing a little more flirting going on. Is everybody married?
I think Rebecca should get one of those motorized scooters. That would be efficient and hilarious.

I didn't think the rap song was all that bad. It was never intended to show that Wyclef can take 5 underwhelming individuals and turn then into R&B's American Idols. It looked to me like the sort of team building exercise your office would do, and even if it was silly, it didnt make my ears bleed (laughed quite a bit, but thats another story)

In all honesty, I don't think it matters much whether Kristi or Jen M. went this week. Kristi was going one of these weeks anyway. She could have gone the first week just as easily. It's not like had a chance in hell.
Jen M. may be the nicer person and Trump may like her better, but she already shot herself on the foot and is halfway out the door already. If Carolyn is in charge, watch out. She has no chance anyway so no biggie.
Plus you can already tell which two Trump actually respected on that team. Randall and Marshawn. He didn't care too much what anybody else had to say.

Can I just say???? That's some deep shit right there.
I'm so on the Randall and Marshawn trains. I agree we need to see a bit more of their input, but they're smart, well-spoken, and seem to get respect from their teams. FINALLY!
I'll have to watch the CNBC rebroadcast tonight, but there was one point when Jen was on the ropes and it looked like she was about to get the axe... she said something that hit Trump, he replied, "well, that's very true," and to me that's what turned it for her. I didn't tape the show so I'll have to re-watch to catch it.

I totally agree he should have just jumped in, attempted to help, or asked for direction. It just seems to me that Brian had decided to have no patience with Markus, had decided that Markus was useless, and treated him as such. That's not management. That's petty playground crap.
I think I understand both sides of it. I have been in situations before where I have worked with someone who has been so insufferable for so long that I just lose my will to keep trying with them. On the other hand, I kind of felt sorry for Markus last night. The guys should at least give him the chance to screw up during a task before they all jump on him. Plus, I thought the whole, "you're good at ordering food" thing was unnecessarily condescending.

I agree. I think TD just likes to look at Jen M. a bit more, so he decided to keep her around. Plus, I'm glad to see Kristi go. When they replayed her, "Step up to the pllllate, TORAL!" clip during the previouslys, it just reminded me what a hateful person she really is.
It's weird how Randal hasn't really done anything outstanding yet, but I still think he's the top condender to win this thing. I'm almost thinking it's going to come down to him vs. Rebecca in the final 2.

bahamarita, I completely agree with you about Markus. At this point, the men's team is just bullying him around. In the past couple weeks, I haven't seen him do anything other than be a good team member. It seemed to me that the men just were frustrated and tried after a long day, and bitchypants Josh needed to scold someone and feel cool. Seriously, Josh bugs. He isn't nearly as brilliant as he thinks he is and all he does is put everyone else down. Josh, you are a tool.

I really hate the way this show makes it look like most women when put together will be catty, bitchy, and total disasters.
Actually, I think that aspect of the show, which seems to hold true everytime these teams are drawn along lines of sex, is closer to reality than most of us would like to admit - my intelligent and lovely wife concurs.
My wife was also stunned that the men always give the project manager immunity, no matter what conflicts occur during the task. I responded that, generally, if things work out in the end, most men don't hold a grudge (not that they totally forget), and move on - and are reluctant to stick a knife in someone after a success, even if it's justified - because that same knife could get stuck in you later. My wife replied that women, generally, aren't like that, and hold on to grudges forever and take any good opportunity to get payback for real or perceived offenses.

A few observances...
I am in agreeance with the people who said that it doesn't matter which of the two got fired, since they both have zero chance of winning. Might as well send Kristi and her tooth ache inducing voice home first.
It is a bit odd that Randall gets so much respect and so many people pick him to win, when he has only been shown not imploding. The telling thing for me is that during the whole task there was not one bitcherview with any of Capitol Edge complaining about Randall. And you know that if they had any beef with them they would be bringing it up. I think it is just that he quietly and competently goes about his business, and that is kind of boring to watch.
Two things that I noticed after 19 pages this week:
A lot of people bemoan the fact that there are no average people on reality TV, but all the posts about John Favreau are about how fat he has become, plus all the short jokes about...well the short guy :-)
With all the talk about possible racism in the bloven and on the show, I would hesitate to say that it is too bad Randall missed the reward. Just because he is black doesn't mean he is a fan of Wyclef Jean, or any rap astist.
All in all, a good episode. I think Donald has been less annoying this season, and I can't wait for THE. MOST. SURPRISING. BOARDROOM. EVER. next week.

Random thoughts:
Marshawn seems to only talk when people are actually listening to her. She doesn't say much compared to some of the other candidates, but when does speak its usually articulate, thoughtful and substantive.
Randal takes team diplomacy to a whole new level. His response to Kristi's question was perfect: "I've observed a lot of people talking and fewer people listening." He didn't name any names, but he managed to imply "Think about it Kristi - maybe you were one of the people who should have listened more?".
Like Marshawn, he has a very calm, very measured presence that I think is going to take him far.
Frankly, I'm surprised Kristi got fired. She wasn't undeserving, but I thought Jennifer's more obvious mistakes on the task would cost her.
Brian's presentation started off well, then he just didn't know when to quit when he was ahead. It was a nice touch to reference his gaffe from they day before and what they learned from it however.
That reward? Children will be scarred for life. And playing it again when Jennifer was coming back into suite? Oh the humanity.
Markus seems to exist on his own planet, completely oblivious to everything around him. He just seemed... disinterested in the whole task.

Jen M. confuses me. She does some things that I like. I loved her smack down of Kristi when she took her aside. She also does some damn stupid things like not being able to pronounce the name of the movie she's presenting. Like I said, she confuses me.
I agree. Loved her talk with Kristi. And then Kristi out and out lying in the board room - "You didn't talk to me". Bitch, it is on film.
I am glad Kristi is gone. If she acts like that in her real job I doubt she is "well liked."
But Jen did screw up...but I think Kristi was mouthy in the board room and I think she annoyed Trump.

I was ready for Kristi to go when Jen first called her on her attitude during the task, and she was all smirky "You mean bold?" Ugh. Save the fake euphemisms and spin cycle for the boardroom, at least. That just turned me off so much--it's like saying flat-out, "I refuse to take you seriously even for the length of this task."
Yeah, but Jen did get her back by shutting the door in her face.
Funniest moment of the night: Hop-a-long Rebecca dragging her suitcase to the boardroom. <snerk>
I was watching this and wondering if she got fired if she would have to hop all the way to the cab or if someone would help her.

What makes Jen M think she's a good presenter?? The hell? She sucked presenting the mascot last week, remember, her perky barbie routine complete with fake mannerisms, slooow voice, plastered on smile and juvenile prose?
Now, this week she presents AGAIN and makes a train wreck of the presentation. She acts like she's talking to pre schoolers.
Marshawn and Randall would rock an oral presentation (I think) because they're both intelligent and well spoken. I'm begging you Jen, sit down next week.

I thought Jennifer definitely deserved the boot last night. Her presentation was absolutley horrendous, not to mention the many times she flubbed Zathura. On top of that, she looked like she was going to cry in the boardroom and she kept trying to intterupt the Donald when he was about to make his decision. Fortunately for her, he chose to fire Kristi instead.
With that being said, I definitely didn't mind Kristi getting the heave ho. She was a completely negative force throughout the show, not to mention that annoying voice. At first, I was going to have a little bit of sympathy for her because she wasn't the reason the task failed. However, telling Jen to shut up in the lobby and her cabterview eveaporated any sympathy I had for her. Good riddance!
It looked like Carolyn was pissed at the decision. I think the last time this happened was when Trump fired Angie last season. I like it when she doesn't suck up to the Donald, despite when she disagrees with his decisions.
I think I disturbed my whole block laughing at the reward segment. The part that killed me the most was Markus shouting, "YOU KNOW WHO THIS IS!" It reminded me when Wyclef, as mentioned earlier, recorded a song with The Rock. I couldn't stop laughing at that song either.
Lastly, is it just me, or did Trump's hair piece looked like it was thinning in the boardroom?

Way to go, Jeiffer. You really deserved to get the boot because of your abysmal management skills and inability to pronounce correctly the one damned word that HAD to be spoken as ordered...but, like Melissa and Toral, in Kristi you luckily had someone nearby who was such a poisonous pest that you escaped by default.
Flashback to my childhood. My sister could not pronounce my name when she was little so she called me Jeiffer.
Random thoughts:
Wyclef did reunite with the Fugees for some awards program and they were terrible. Specifically, Lauren Hill has not recovered from her emotional collapse a few years ago and it showed in her horrible performance. He really is better of faming whoring on Reality TV.
Josh is Kristi without the southern accident. I can't wait for his debut as PM.
I like Markus too. Yeah, he is talkative and he has no self awareness, but he seems like a nice person and I did not like that order taking crap they pulled on him last night. I also respected his approach to the PM about it. Brian, IMHO, did not handle it well. He really was not listening to Markus. The men treated Markus better when Randal was on the team because I observed Randal including Markus in the process. That Randal just oozes class doesn't he? Of course he is fine and just my type too.

I agree with the sentiment that this has become The Marketing Apprentice. We've now had selling a Bally's workout, making a Lambourghini brochure, a Best Buy fair, a Dairy Queen character, and now a Zanthura float. What happened to the meat and potatoes of the Apprentice and the business world? Let's see them renovate apartments, restaurants, or a club. Let's see them do some street work and sell lemonade. Yes, it's been done before, but that's what I find really fascinating about the world of business - making money starting with very little. I know that all these marketing campaigns are obviously tied into corporate sponorships, but I could care less about them. I want to see them doing things that Trump is known for, not something he is being paid for. I hardly can imagine a young DT building a float for some stupid kid's movie that is hopefully going to tank.
I liked the rap song, but only if you took the rapping out of it. The music and the beat are kind of catchy. I can't get "LADIES....when you see us in da club..." out of my head this morning.

Josh needs a metric ton of Shut the Fuck Up, and a side of You Useless Dickwad. He's the type of person who thinks he's witty, insightful, and direct, when in reality he's cloying, predictable, and toolish. When the PM is bitching someone out, it isn't necessary for you to stick your geek head all up in the business.
Josh gets on my last nerve. But considering that somehow the talk which started in the backroom was now still going on just feet from where Josh was cleaning suggests to me that we saw a severely edited version. At one point Brian turns away and says they need to clean up now as if to go back out to the main floor where it is taking place.
So I can see getting really pissed that after doing nothing, Markus then conveniently starts to whine and whimper even when there is still clean up to do. Making sure he doesn't have to do any clean up. I think both are dicks, but Markus's behavior is something I have seen again and again and I despise it. Josh's type I have also seen. But they do work when you need someone to work. His bitching about everyone else though heeds to stop. He is the male Kristi. But while he does complain about everyone else, it does not mean there isn't something to complain about some of the time. I think with Markus the complaints were legit. At this stage, if you don't know what to do, you go find out. You don't wander about aimlessly. It did not seem to me that the rest marginalized him at all. But even if they did, he gave them the opportunity. He hasn't been PM yet has he? It will be interesting to see how well he actually does when it is his turn. I hope for a crash and burn.
When Bill asked about Jennifer, the visible efforts of Alla and Kristi to be positive about her absence; no complaining about her to Bill. That was good. I thought that Kristi was "professional" more than once tonight.
Whereas I heard the Meowmix song playing in my head when Kristi snidely said "she went shopping".
Kristi's parting comments really hammered home that at least one of the three thought of themselves as a tight little clique.
Randall is my new boyfriend. When he told Kristie that you must first seek to understand, then, to be understood - I fell totally and hopelessly in love.

Fortune cookies are great, aren't they? Though to be fair I have heard the "seek first to understand; then to be understood" at just about every business seminar I had to attend in my last years at college. I'll bet he got it at Oxford because it was a huge favorite there if he took debate.
Randal takes team diplomacy to a whole new level. His response to Kristi's question was perfect: "I've observed a lot of people talking and fewer people listening." He didn't name any names, but he managed to imply "Think about it Kristi - maybe you were one of the people who should have listened more?".
And just to make sure, he then answered her by saying she was. So no foul on Randall, but with Kristi his deep thoughts moment still needed plain blunt language.

I was really confused about what on earth was going on with the women's team. Who was doing the planning and who came up with the design? Kristi's name was mentioned... so why wasn't this pinned on her in the boardroom? It was awful! And who was responsible for making sure the name of the movie is prominently displayed? Where were Rebecca, Marshawn and Randall?
The only people who seemed to actually do some real work were Alla and Kristi. While I understand that Kristi is very negative and really has no chance, her team really just pretended they did a great job and Kristi ruined it. Which, it total nonsense.

I thought it was interesting that, in the beginning of the episode when the guys were up in the suite waiting to see who was going to be fired, even one of them mentioned something about it being the blondes vs. the brunettes. So I'm thinking there probably wasn't a lot of editing needed to create the blonde coven when the guys living with them were picking up on it.
And Kristi has now just flat-out lied in the boardroom for two weeks in a row. Last week she, along with Felicia, said that Jen M. did not suggest the DQ branding on Zip (extended boardroom footage) and this week she said that Jen M. did not talk to her during the task about being negative/difficult. So really that just added to my Kristi hate. I really felt she was living on borrowed time since the first task, anyway. If Melissa hadn't melted down in the boardroom, Kristi would have been the first to go.

I am sort of surprised that we aren't seeing a little more flirting going on. Is everybody married?
Well, Clay is gay, and I seriously doubt he'd be dumb enough to start flirting with any of the other men, although I wouldn't be surprised to see Josh trying to (pardon the expression) suck up to him on occasion.
Speaking of Josh, count me in as among those who are ready to buy him a one-way ticket on the Size-Nine Express to the Loser Lodge. The man is a total hypocrite and a bully; I thought he was way out of line with the way he butted in on Brian's conversation with Markus--you'd think that Josh was the project manager, the way he started wailing on Markus. Josh, here's a bit of advice for you: You are not the sole repository of wisdom in the universe, and I assure you, no one really needs or wants your help in dealing with Markus when he goes off on one of his passive-aggressive snits the way he did last night. As someone else mentioned on this board, you need a good dose of STFU.
Oh, and Markus? Here's a helpful hint for you: It's true that your team has been marginalizing you for several weeks now, but you don't give them any reason to respect you when you start pulling passive-aggressive crap like you did last night. It would have been perfectly obvious that the team needed you to pitch in with the cleaning up, yet all you did was stand around and whine about how nobody wanted to give you an "important" task, instead of showing some initiative and respect for your teammates by at least asking Brian if he needed you to do something specific to help with the cleaning up. It's a lesson I've learned the hard way in my career as a legal assistant: Quit whining because you're not being given anything "important" to do (I haven't been asked to write a legal brief or do any serious legal research in over three years), and do the job you are asked to do to the best of your ability. That's how you gain respect, and how you slowly earn the right to do the "important" jobs.
I also have to say something about the women. I really didn't have a problem with Kristi's getting the boot over Jennifer M., even though Jennifer was the one who botched the presentation. It really was about the float itself rather than the presentation, and the float design was Kristi's bailiwick, not Jennifer's. Besides, Kristi really did show her true colors, especially after the boardroom; I seriously doubt that Carolyn could really be that upset about losing someone who has proven (as opposed to merely saying) that she doesn't work well with other women!
And, finally (Sing it with me): Ding, dong, the Coven is dead!
